The staff is very professional, and they diagnose the problem quickly, and get it fixed. No pushy salesman trying to force repairs you DONT need, but great people, great atmosphere, and all at reasonable cost. Everything was explained in great detail before any work was performed, and the vehicle runs fantastic after receiving it back! HONEST PEOPLE! They got car in right away. After checking everything out and test driving they determined that it wasnt a transmission issue. They recommended another mechanic for the issue and didnt charge. The mechanic that spoke to my dad was invested in my dads safety and gave him good advice based on the issues with his car. I was calling places including the manufacture dealership to ask for pricing in regards a transmission flush. I called A Affordable transmission last and the gentleman that answered the phone told me they don’t do transmission flushes because it could possibly harm the transmission more. He stated that most companies just do the flush to get money from you and that’s not how they do their business. After I got off the phone I started researching about transmission flushes and found many articles stating that yes indeed it is not recommended to do a transmission flush and it can possibly cause more harm. Also some manufacturer warranties get voided if you get a transmission flush. I’m really glad that I called A Affordable transmission before I went and got a transmission flush because all the other places I called were happy to give me a price to have me come do the transmission flush and possibly harm my transmission more.

Ive worked with a lot of mechanics, and you can always tell how good a mechanic is by what they tell you after the job is done. Good mechanics will give you a run-down of what they found, what they fixed. Great mechanics will answer your questions, and possibly tell you a few extra things they noticed about your car along the way. Dominick and his guys are EXCELLENT mechanics. I took my BMW 750i in to these guys a few years back. I didnt want to leave a review right away just to ensure that the trans stayed working properly. It has been at least three years now and I have to say that the trans has been working flawlessly without any issues. They saved me a bunch of money and did the job very professionally. When my transmission failed in September, I had put 13,000 miles on my car since Dominick re-built the transmission in March 2013. Even though a 1,000 miles over the 12,000 mile warranty, Dominick covered the cost to re-build my transmission. I will use A Affordable Transmission for all of my future transmission work. My car had been slowly deteriorating for about a year. We called around explaining the situation and were told multiple things such as it was the gearbox. As my car got worse I looked online and found A Affordable Transmission. I took my car in the next day for a diagnosis and estimate and was very kindly greeted my Dominick. Within a matter of hours I got the phone call that my transmission needed a complete rebuild. Terrific Guys - Dominic diagnosed the problem on my 2010 Chevy Equinox as unrelated to the transmission for no fee unlike the dealer I visited who insisted i needed a new transmission. Sunrise guys. Dominic said the problem may be more related to exhaust and headers, then recommended someone who could fix it. I would recommend them highly as straight shooting and reliable. WARNING Customer WARNING” please Beware their 5 star review is a SCAM....it should be Zero star.... at A Affordable Transmission shop, hear my story, I spoke to Dominick and he gave me a price quote to repair my car which cost me parts and labor $800. I found out after the repair that I could have had my repair done with parts and labor for $650 from another Trans shop. I was over charged $150. Secondly when I pick up my car and drove to work, I decided to check my trans fluid and discovered it was over filled by half a quart of trans fluid, I call Dominick to express how upset I was and that I paid good money to have work done professionally by trans repair guys and he told me it doesn’t matter if it was over filled its o.k. WHAT??????? Toyota just like every car maker has a dip stick to let you know not to over fill or if its low on fluid that’s why it was design for to protect the transmission, I was shock and speechless when he told me that. This guy Dominick is a Trans repair guy, this is basic 101 beginners who do this job never to over fill, because you can damaged the trans but Dominick argued with me and told me I should apologize cause I was wrong even after I told him I took a picture to prove it, he didnt want to hear it. I called other transmission shop and the guys LAUGH so hard they were speechless too at Dominick response that if it over fill it doesnt matter what a joke. Please call other Trans shop in the area, customers stay away you will be sorry later. Did a great job on a very hard project of mine

Well, I tried to baby the clutch in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe GT to try and get 100k miles out of it. I made it to 98,000 and decided it was time. I seriously researched about 20 or so local shops, and did some deep digging. There seem to be a few quality shops, and a lot where they started out OK, gave me a baseline quote for my clutch work, and then started adding stuff over the phone. I went to a few different places that made my list just to see. The only shop that didnt try to up-sell something was A Affordable Transmission. I dealt with Dominick 100%, because a lot of you said him or John were the man. Dom was awesome, straight forward with me. I gave him every opportunity to replace the flywheel if needed. He didnt even try to up-sell me on it, he turned it and said it was fine.I got so used to driving a bad clutch, that when backing out of the parking lot there, I stalled it. Then at a light, stalled it again. All I could do was laugh at myself. I have a friend who complained she couldnt drive my car because the clutch was hard as hell to push in (that never bothered me, I kind of liked it honestly). Now, it is how it should be & she was amazed. I dont know if that is a good or bad thing though now that I think about it. Anways, if you are one of those who think I am a paid shill who was given a deep discount or something for this review because you didnt get your way, sorry, but last I checked there are no doctors in the area that AAT is at that can help you. I took my 2001 Acura MDX to Dominick at A Affordable Transmission because it started having problems getting in gear. The repair shop looked at the car without an appointment and made a quick diagnosis. Dominick was very upfront with the costs of rebuilding the transmission. Once I did my research and decided to get the car repaired with A Affordable Transmission I quickly learned I made the right decision. I received the car back earlier than I thought - 2 instead of 3 days. The car runs fine and Dominick even called a week after and asked how the car was running. I own a 2007 Chrysler Sebring Limited that is equipped with a 3.5L V6 and a 6-speed automatic transmission. I have had this car for 4 years without a single issue at all; my car is well maintained. But, when the dealership offered to replace a moisture ridden headlight, they, of course, had to disconnect the battery, which is completely understandable. However, after the headlight was replaced, the car began to intermittently die out on the way back home. When I arrived home, I popped the hood only to find both the positive and negative cables were not secured to the battery. As a result, nearby plastics were partially melted and, though the dealership replaced the plastic components free of charge, this was when the minor shifting issue started.At first, the shifting issue was mild—virtually undetectable. It was about 8 months to date before it became more noticeable, and more annoying. I asked the dealership to scan the TCM for any codes and got nothing at all. Without hesitation they quoted me $3,500.00 to replace the TCM. So, off to the next shop! The next few shops quoted prices ranging from $1000.00-$2,200.00 for various tasks. One shop claimed it was once again the TCM, while another suggested that the speed sensor was faulty, and so on.Needless to say, A Affordable Transmission Specialist Inc., was the last shop that I needed to visit. On Thursday, April 30th, I told Dominick about the dilemma I had with the battery and he suggested that we try clearing all learned parameters within the TCM and put it in “quick learn” mode; he explained that the 6-speed transmission in my car was electronically controlled and sometimes the TCM can develop bad habits, if you will, when the battery is disconnected. Moreover, after leaving my car at his shop for about an hour and a half, the procedure was finished and I was on my way. Ever since then, my car shifts crisp, clean, and smooth. There were a few harsh shifts here and there, but every day it gets better. The best part of all of this? It was FREE! Dominick said that if the “quick learn” would solve the problem, he would not charge me, and he was a man of his word!Thank you very much Dominick for your honesty and for helping out a college student, it is immensely appreciated! If I could give more stars, I would. You have definitely earned my business in the future.

(I posted this review on Yelp, but I thought Id come over to Google as well!) I was referred to Affordable Transmission by my grandmother. She had to get the transmission repaired for her Cadillac a while back and took it to AAF. She was VERY HAPPY with their services. Less than a month ago I had to get my transmission repaired so I took it to AAF per my grandmothers recommendation. I have a Chrysler 300M. As another reviewer noted, they are extremely helpful. They take the time to explain exactly whats happening under the hood. Since my OBD light came on I knew there was something wrong with the trans...but I didnt know what it was. AAF explained in detail why the light was coming on and what that meant for the transmission. Since most people arent born with a working knowledge of transmissions its incredibly helpful to have a trustworthy source like AAF in town. I recommend A Affordable Transmission 100%. I havent had any problems with my car (nor has my grandmother for that matter!) since I took it to AAF. If youre looking for a great transmission shop, go to AAF!
