The towards tomorrow program Is a very poor program to work at and to send your children who have special needs that need to be met.The administration is the biggest problem for the towards tomorrow program. They severely lack quality leadership in the administration aspect. They do not have the children or employees best interest at heart. The only reason why this program is probably still around is because of some of the great teachers that are still there. The way they handle conflict with the children or parents that have concerns is extremely unprofessional. For example, when doing a evaluations they do not take their time to properly evaluate children. Then they allow children into the program when they do not have the necessary tools or skills to help these children to develop & achieve their goals. The way they handle conflict with their employees is very unprofessional as well. The atmosphere in the towards tomorrow program is very much high school drama oriented. The gossiping is out of control, and a lot of confidential information has been spread whether it’s about employees or children attending the program. I’m pretty sure that the other programs are of quality at the JCC of mid westchester, but Please be careful & mindful when it comes to the towards tomorrow program.

We had a terrible experience with the Towards Tomorrow Program. It is poorly run and offers less than adequate programming to the children, who have very real needs. My son was asked to leave twice because he had behavioral issues that they felt that they could not handle, even though I clearly outlined the nature of his disability prior to them accepting him into their program for children with special needs through CPSE. Their lack of structure and inability to follow behavior plans, even after I hired a private behavior specialist to support them, in addition to poor classroom supervision led to a very stressful experience for my family. The classroom was poorly managed, offered little cognitive stimulation as evidenced by the lack of original artwork and lack of theme based lessons and activities. It was reported to me, from an observer that the staff colored while the students were left to play. The graduation ceremony was another eye-opening experience. The children sat for a slide show - no songs were sung...another indicator that nothing was being done to stimulate their little minds. We made the switch to an integrated class for the summer, even after the Towards Tomorrow Director called and angrily told me, after another behavioral outburst from my child shortly before the start of the summer program, that this is why he belonged in a self-contained class (an not an integrated setting). He did beautifully in the other integrated setting over the summer (also at the JCC) and is thriving behaviorally in Kindergarten due to the structure provided from a professional and knowledgeable teacher. We will have no choice but to repeat Kindergarten, however, because of the lack of academic support and attention from the Towards Tomorrow program. I really hope that you consider other placements for your child. I sincerely regret keeping my son there. *I must give credit where due and add, that on a positive note, the occupational therapists and sensory gym were quite good at this location. These individuals were knowledgeable and responsive to my sons needs.*

Great place, highly recommend! I really enjoyed attending camp here, the programs were very well-organized and offered a lot of variety of activities. I participated in the SAC program, learned how to dance and took art classes all at one place. Really friendly staff and people!

I was a members in for a short period of time. I joined strictly for the pool. Its nothing special. Quite frankly its dirty because of over use. It is not clean enough. Although people are nice here, its highly overpopulated. The upstairs locker room for man is very nice. The new locker room is pretty good. They have programs for people and children year round. Parking here is not easy when its busy. Its certainly pricey. Make sure you take a good tour before joining so that it meets your expectations, otherwise dont bother!.

My daughter attended the summer camp multiple times and she just loved it. They offer many classes including art, theater and dance and they make the summer pass quickly with a lot of fun. They genuinely care about the kids. We used the facility for their pool and it was a great experience.

My daughter has been going to camp here for at least 6 years. She went to Gadol and is now in her second year of SAC. I cant say enough about the professionalism of the camp coordinators, both Caryn and Tobe, as well as the individual attention they provide for your child. With all the children in their camps, they know your childs name, likes and dislikes, and have a rapport with them. That speaks volumes. I know my daughter is safe and well taken care of.She has also taken other courses at the JCC, which she has thoroughly enjoyed and made excellent progress with. Those include swimming, gymnastics and art.The JCC is accepting of people of all faiths, and a warm and welcoming environment.

Terrible. Music (esp. keyboard) so loud it drowned out the singers. There was no need for any amplification. Their voices carrief very well naturally. Singing was painful. Far, far, too much trebble. Had to leave at intermission. Couldnt take any more.
