One of the best RV resorts I have stayed at! Their property is absolutely gorgeous. I enjoyed looking at all their animals- goats, horses, various birds- and buildings. We stayed in spot 21. Large pull through with amble amounts of room between us and the next spot. Also close to downtown Savannah. Highly recommend.
The sites here are huge and mostly grass! The pool is small but adequate. It also has shade which is a big bonus. My kids loved all the animals. They have horses, goats, peacocks(one is white), roosters, chickens. Very well kept. 15 minutes from downtown and you can pay to do the trolley tour with pick up/drop off at the campground!
Red Gate Campground & RV Resort was a great spot that we stayed at for one night driving through Savannah. We had a great experience. There is areas you can going walking and a very nice back pond which was near a house used for weddings and receptions. They have an animal farm and a pool area. It was also affordable. Highly recommended.
This is an EXCEPTIONAL place. It’s so serene and charming. We stayed at site C2 next to gloriously-looking big oak tree. Absolutely magnificent. It’s easy to access from the main road but once you’ve checked in, you can barely hear the busy road. The place is well maintained with nicely-spaced campsites. We were lucky to have our site - no neighbors nearby😄 The lake is so calm and there were a lot of trees providing great shade when you take a long and nice walk. We’ve been to so many campgrounds and we must say that this is one of the best, if not the best. We highly recommend this gorgeous, gorgeous and gorgeous campground😄❤️
Convenient to Savannah. Nice property near downtown. It is very VERY dusty, it is very VERY expensive. It is an event venue so it gets loud, it is like you are next to a night club for hours on end. Don’t know what they had on a Saturday morning at 8am, but music was on loud speakers outside and man specking in to a microphone (what a way to wake up on Saturday morning). Is off a heavy trafficked road, so there is a lot of road noise. Railroad tracks are on side of property and all hours of the night and day (trains and train horns). They have dry camping and FH. If you are at the end on FH and pay top price hey stick dry campers next to you that run their generator. Is obnoxious and rude if you ask me. Grounds keepers and animal caregivers are friendly, but front desk women don’t seem to like dealing with people (especially one of them). If you really need to be near downtown this is your spot, if not I recommend finding something else.
Review courtesy of my 9 year old daughter. Amazing for kids. great little pond. the goats were so lovely. could not stop feeding them. they do not pack you in there like sardines. we had an end unit. great moss streets.
Stayed one night on our way to Helen, Ga. Very friendly check in with Leslie. She was very helpful with information and recommended a great place to eat in Savannah. Beautiful farm we rode our bikes around with horses and farm animals along with 2 fishing ponds and a beautiful plantation house used as a wedding venue. Each site had 50 amp hookup along with water and sewer hookups. Will definitely stay again
Just want you all to know that we had an awesome weekend at Red Gate. The facilities could not have been better, (would be nice if the club house had of been open), Travis was awesome as well. He was most helpful directing us towards areas we were lookin for and always waved and friendly. Im sure he is an asset for sure around the grounds. Also, the older gentleman that was working there, I believe he said he is currently living on grounds till December? He as two dogs he and his wife walk of an evening. He too was a big help to us as well. Sorry, did not catch his name. He was an outstanding associate of yours as well. Its the little things people do that really stand out to me as I retired from 45 years of working with the public service management myself. So I can appreciate quality people. Thanks again for a great experience. Would be nice if yall had potato chips in your mix of store items.
Absolutely idyllic. The park is never too crowded: I think they only have space for a couple dozen RVs which are broken up into a couple of rows around a central square, plus a handful near the pond and the office (which dont have sewage). Pool, clean restrooms, small store at the office, horseback riding, carriage rides, sitting on a porch swing watching the geese in the pond, or just enjoying your site - every day really felt like vacation. And, youre literally minutes from the Savannah waterfront. Top five RV parks in my books; and, weve camped from San Diego, CA to St. John, Newfoundland.
We stayed at Red Gate about two weeks ago We love this place and staff. Leslie in the office is so helpful and we met Gary from maintenance and he was also so nice. But, we have to give a big shout out and Thank You to JD. After staying for 4 days, we were in a hurry to get back home for a meeting. Somehow, even though we have been pulling our 26ft Travel trailer for 24 year now, we forgot to lock the hitch into place with our truck hitch. As we were leaving and getting ready to turn out onto the Chatham, our trailer disconnected from the truck with a huge thud. I almost had a heart attack looking in the side mirror and seeing the trailer on its hitch on the ground. I panicked and ran to the office. I met Leslie at the door and she already knew about it and had JD heading to help us. JD knew right away what to do and was able to use Jacks to get the front of the trailer up high enough for my husband to back the truck up to the trailer and get it hitched back up. We just cant say enough great things about this place. it is like staying with family. JD you are awesome and amazing. We cant thank you enough. We will be staying here again in the fall. I hope that they do add more sites because so many people are finding out how great they are and they do need them.
Beautiful, unique experience. 400 acres, 300 year old Oak trees with Spanish Moss everywhere, looks like a storybook! Only a few sites so not crowded at all. 5 lakes, horses and goats. Some of the smaller sites are under the massive Oak trees, beautiful! We stayed for one night in Overflow parking. We are 75 long with coach and trailer, plenty of room, but no hook ups. Ground was hard and dry with grass. The regular sites have crushed coral pads.We did not use the pool, bath house or laundry. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. I usually only give 5 stars to Resorts. This park doesnt have super fancy amenities of a Resort but its beautiful and unique. Love it. 5 stars.
Great experience. Will use again in the future. Very friendly and great facility.
We stayed over Memorial Day for our first visit and found it fantastic! The staff is helpful and their WiFi is superb. There is a nice pool, stocked ponds, horses, and what seems like nice roads/trails to explore. The only problem is their property is cursed with moon dust for sand and it is dusty when the wind blows. Id imagine it is also muddy in the rain. That wont deter us from returning. In fact, we are looking forward to the next time we visit Savanna.
Pretty place and the gentleman checking us in was very nice. The city tour trolley leaves right from the campground which is very convenient, however, it leaves at 9 a.m. and doesnt get back until 4 which didnt work for us because of our dog. So we just drove into town and took the tour. Stay away from space B3! Tree roots and extremely uneven making it hard to level. Also quite sandy and dirty, couldnt get away from tracking it in the coach. The sewer hook up was so high that we could barely drain black water. If you stay here, dont get that space!
Beautiful campground! Several of spacious spots, lots of trails and areas to explore. There is horseback riding, swimming pool and incredibly friendly staff. This is our 2nd time here and the person at the desk remembered our name. Only minutes from Savannah, easy access in and out.Bathrooms, and laundry facility are spotless.
We enjoyed you stay at Red Gate and the grounds is beautifully maintained.. our site was perfect by the ponds. Great location. I would rate it higher except for these two things that we have not encountered anywhere else and we travel a lot. 1) the bathrooms and showers are only open 9am-6pm, I guess due to covid but thats a new one for us and 2) we were charged an extra $10 for getting there an hour early because wed be using electricity. I asked if wed be reimbursed for the electricity we didnt use if we checked out early, but I knew the answer to that. Its already the most expensive place weve camped at. Overall a good experience, just a couple of quirks that could have made our stay better.
Amazing grounds. Picture perfect! The pond is so gorgeous with the swings nearby. Very clean. Helpful and kind staff. More room between rvs than most parks. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning!
Conveniently located close to Savanah but a few major drawbacks. Lots of dust, one shower which is open from 9 to 6pm only, one inside restroom open from 9 to 6pm and two outside toilets but one wasnt working. The grounds were nice and very well kept.Staff was accommodating.
We had a relaxing time here and our experience was great. We booked online and picked a specific spot and the staff at check in had all in order. Staff were friendly and helpful. We toured the grounds and sat at the swings overlooking the ponds. Went through the barn and took pictures of the old ammunition bunker. The horses, goats and chickens are fun to look at. The clubhouse has a very large big screen tv and pool table. The sites are gravel and have full hookups. If you have a 30 amp plug like I do, make sure you carry a 50 to 30 amp adapter as the sites are either switched or going to be switched to 50 amp plugs. Laundry is small, 2 washers and 2 dryers but the sitting room as you wait for laundry to be done is so relaxing and feels like home. Slight traffic noise didnt bother us a bit. An Uber ride to the downtown historic district is about 12 dollars each way. If you have a vehicle its about 7 miles from the park. We enjoyed our stay.
I see a lot of reviews about the back of the property & the event space . . not about thecampground itself. It is more of a Harvest Host type of atmosphere but with electric & water. Our spot was in the middle of a field 😟 No restrooms or showers in the vicinity that we could see. It was too loud & busy for what we were looking for . .
We stayed at Red Gates was stop #3 on our trip from Pennsylvania to Orlando. We totally enjoyed this campground. My daughter loves horses, so she was stoked to go check out the horses at the farm. She wasnt stoked not to be able to do a trail ride. You need to plan ahead to set up an appointment for trail rides as far in advance as you can... almost Disney ADR early. regardless, we loved the goats, horses, turtle pond that we kept looking in for alligators (yes we wanted to find them) and our RV neighbors visited us 1 night (retrieving their friendly dogs).you can uber to Downtown Savannah for around $15 or Uber XL in luxury for $25. Savannah is probably a 10-15 minute drive from the resort.
I wish I stayed longer. We have 40 ft motorcoach with towable. Our site was the best plenty of room to back in., and slide outs. It’s a clean and beautiful farm. They have horses, animals, pool, fishing. Was able to wash the coach for a small fee. Savannah is very close to get to or they have a trolley to pick you up at the campground. Leaves at 9:00am and comes back at 4:30pm. WiFi is good, cable is good, sites level. There is a train that you can here, and noise by road but over all wasn’t bothersome. We would return again and stay longer. Staff are friendly too.
This place is great. Peaceful and beautiful. Close to Savannah where we had a blast! Thanks Red Gate.
We’ve stayed here 3 times before and the location is brilliant, easy access to savannah, so what’s not to like?. Well they changed there wifi which used to work well for me and now refuses to let us connect. Office attitude is everyone else is happy, it must be you. Same system we’ve used for the last several trips here and it worked for the last 3 months in Florida.. Can’t see us returning no wifi is a deal breaker.
We had to leave early from the campground on Memorial Day weekend because of mechanical problems with RV. The staff was very understanding and sympathetic to our situation . I just wanted to say Thank you for refunding our monies because you didn’t have to do this according to your policy. We will definitely be coming back in 2022😉
Beautiful park, poor communication/customer service. Fair price and really nice property. Unfortunately a lot of things were closed like the fitness center, lounge, etc because of covid. Which we understand, yet none of that was brought to our attention when we booked. So it was even more surprising on Saturday morning when we were woken up to drums and cowbells at 7:30am, while 450 people drove onto the property for a 5k. This event woke up the RV park and yet again, none of us were given notice of anything happening prior to. I called the desk and they claimed they didn’t realize it would be so big and/or loud, but I find that surprising since 5k races tend to be. It was frustrating consider how there were various limitations because of covid, yet they can host massive events. Propane hours are also only for one hour a day so be sure to plan accordingly. Overall decent stay but we wouldn’t come back with the lack of communication we experienced.
Just spent three wonderful nights at this beautiful campground. The farm is lovely for walking or riding bikes to discover the natural beauty of Georgia - and there is a lot to discover here. The lake side swings are great for relaxing, and the playground looked suitable for small kids, even though we dont have any. The hookups were solid, but the wifi is very slow and drops out every few minutes. The staff said an upgrade is coming soon for better speeds. The location is convenient to downtown Savannah, and the hop on - hop off tour bus make a morning and afternoon stop here so you dont even need to drive and park. Very easy to have a nice time at Red Gate Farm in Savannah. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place to stay close to savannah. Horses, goats, chickens, ponds and walking trails. Perfect we loved it and will be back
Great campground . Our family had a short stay here for a couple days rest, while driving home from Jellystone in North Carolina. It is a beautiful place with a very friendly lady who runs it. She even folded our towels when we left them in the dryer overnight by accident! The grounds, houses, barns and pool are beautiful. It also has 5 fishing ponds with lots of bass. Wish they were trimmed around the edges more for kids to fish or there were kayaks to rent. Overall would highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.
Beautiful campground, quiet, peaceful. Staff friendly and helpful. Would camp there again.
I cannot get rv parks in georgia to answer a phone call. This location included.
$56.50 per night, February rate. Narrow, unlevel gravel sites, muddy at the camper doorway. 30/50 amp but no circuit breaker for the site. Two toilets, heated only by a small electric heater that is wired to the light switch. No showers. Railroad nearby and loud train noise all night.
Red Gate was one of my favorite campgrounds during my entire trip through the south. I grew up on a farm, so of course, I loved being around the animals and the beautiful natural environment. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean. If you have a dog who is 25 lbs or under, you can take him or her with you if you use the white trolley to tour Savannah. Although this isn’t the trolley line that picks you up at Red Gate, the parking is free where you pick up the trolley. Enjoy!
Looks nice on website but it is absolutely tiny . Seen neighborhood cul de sacs bigger than this . Like 8 spots
We had a nice stay here. Fishing was great, nice scenery. The only disappointment I found was the amount of trash in the fire pits. While I won’t give all the fault to the park, RV folks visiting could do a better job policing up after themselves.
Open easy sites, most are back in. friendly people. pet friendly, but campground cats roaming so watch your dog. horses and goats in farm area, plenty of room for a nice leg stretch for the dogs. close to town and nice trolley will pick you up at campground
Friendly people and a Great Area and its Right Near the Beach and Veterans Parkway
Just spent 2 nights there and will be back. Great park well taken care of with nice walking trails all around farm dogs loved it. Very close to Savannah and easy in easy out. Had a nice pull-thru site and staff was great as well.
We just left the red gate campground. It was amazing. Great trails to hike with your dog, a beautiful horse farm and amazing wedding venue and campground all in one. The staff was very friendly and it was pretty close to downtown Savannah. Will be back!
From the UK and touring across America. Spent 3 nights here. Loved it! Really pretty location and perfect for sightseeing Savannah. Receptionist really helpful and kind. Bathrooms real clean but small. Suggest using ones by barn if no wedding on. Overall real good.
Weve stayed here twice and loved it both times. One of the best things about it is the fact that there arent many sites so you dont feel cramped; but instead have a lot of privacy. The scenery is breathtaking and relaxing. There is a walking trail and a lot of area to walk around the farm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. To top it off, our dog loved the farm animals!
We have a Class A motor home. We had just had it washed and waxed three days before arriving. Our site was a mud puddle. Standing water. They would not allow us to take one of their vacant spots on the grass. They swore the ground was rock solid. We wound up with our under carriage, tires and a foot up our motor home with grey mud. Our car was a mess too. Highly not recommend. Not a happy camper
So Happy we found this beautiful RV park so close to Savannah! Enjoyed walking the dogs @ the grounds - extremely nice folks! ❤️ The coffee & morning snacks, nice clean showers, laundry- made us feel right at home! Very peaceful country feel with the hordes& goats - we will definitely return when we come back to explore Savannah. The Mumford’s from IN
Very nice. Staff is wonderful and treats you like family. Grounds are well kept with a lot to offer. Office area is open to use with fitness equipment, laundry, kitchen and den area. Highly recommend. Pricing is very reasonable as well.
Beautiful, quiet, sites are large and easy to set up. Will be going here again.
Red Gate is beyond amazing, its super clean, has all kinds of amazing attractions and amenities, the staff is super nice AND ITS a $10 Uber ride to downtown. We are planning on going back over and over again.Glad but sad to be back home but wouldnt mind being back again very very soon.If you are on the fence about going, believe me you will not regret staying there..
We are full timers and try to keep our list of favorite parks. Well Red Gate made it on our list. The owners and staff are extremely accommodating. The park is wide open and slips are real easy to backup into or pull through, I have a 36 foot Reflections. There is horse back riding, absolutely dog friendly and all necessary facilities for RVers.
Stayed at this beautiful site4th of July weekend. It was so nice and quiet.A nice pull thru spot.Close to downtown. Will definitely be back again.
We found this RV park to be the best overall for the Savannah experience. If we are back in the area, we would definitely come here again! All staff was friendly and helpful. The horses, goats, chickens and roosters were sweet and easy to pet. The clubhouse and pool was refreshing as well. 100% recommend.
Best place to stay in Savannah. The location is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We checked out the other campgrounds in the area and Red Gate is definitely the best. It’s very clean and a great value for the money. We will stay there again.
Its just so beautiful..And tomorrow we are going on a trolley ride to the city
Beautiful farm. Our sites were close and the neighbors fire pit was so close I was worried about my paint.
Beautiful grounds pool and lakes. Very professional staff.
A wonderful park! The staff is friendly and efficient. The location is very nice - only a few minutes from historic Savannah. The big open field gives the place a spacious feeling. All facilities are clean and work well.
Best thing: Very close to everything you want to see in. Savannah. Pretty setting.Worst thing: Dirt and dust. Cant sit outside your rv because the road is white gravel (which has been ground into white dust...like talcum powder) and many of the spaces back up to this gravel road. Every time someone drives by, there is a white cloud. Combine this dust with the heavy dew and you have a real mess. It took 2 days when I got home to clean this off the slide out toppers and roof. This place isnt cheap but if they would do something about the road it would be a nice place. If you can deal with the dirt and dont mind being cooped up inside of your camper the location is fantastic. I suggest the 2 day Old Town Trolley tours. It was fabulous. Great narrated tours. Can get on and off at any stop.
Loved, Loved, Loved this quaint campground on a 100 acre Horse Farm. If you are luck enough to get a site, book it for the perfect Savannah experience. Of course a must is the trail ride on their beautiful horses through this pristine property. There arent many sites, so we had the beautiful pool to ourselves. We were there with our teenage children and have been camping for 9 years. I rarely go to the same campground twice, but this was so beautiful and private, we would go back next time in Savannah! I give it a 10, and I am super critical and picky, so my husband sayes🙂
Perfect for large RVs down to you basic tent camping. Nice showers, laundry, swimming pool, ponds, club house, etc. Nice long pads with plenty of room for all. Friendly helpful staff. Trolley tour picks up and drops off at the site. Convenient to the Historic District. The Fresh Market grocery was nearby which is a favorite of ours. Last nights fireworks at the camp were awesome!
Great place!
This is small RV park, gravel pads, lots of grass and open space.I booked over the phone, paid for my site, I was given my site number and was told just to pull in to my spot then come to the office. Before I could get to the office, a nice young man greeted me, providing the campground map and rules. I loved it. More campgrounds should have this policy.I will definitely return.
We had a great experience at Red Gate Campground. We had site B-1, which is by far the best site on the property (B-2 and B-3 are also excellent). Plenty of shade, near the office and restroom/shower facilities. We have a 26 travel trailer and had more than enough room on our site for the trailer, truck and another vehicle. The park was a bit outdated and too advanced for our children (20 months and nearly 4), but older children seemed to enjoy it. The pool is a saltwater pool, which was unexpected, but it was very clean. The bugs were bad -- gnats and flies, but thats Savannah in the summer for you. Not a thing the campground could do about that! The campground is extremely close to historic Savannah and the owners and staff are just lovely. We will absolutely be returning!
2 stars for a nice facility to do laundry in and wait around for, a warm pool, and trolley pick up at the site. Other than that, the gnats there are absolutely Terrible. AND my fiance ripped half his toenail up falling through their pool deck, which is falling apart everywhere. We were nice enough to waste our time filling out an accident report for them to not even be considered for a refund for our 3rd day we werent even staying there for, but were forced to pay for due to their 3 night minimum. Meanwhile, the family in front of us stayed 1 night and got a refund because they had to go for an emergency with no other details. I wouldnt stay there again.
Charming RV option with easy access from the highway.
Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 3-nights in a site for big rigs (site #10 - Pd $49/night) This was our first visit here. Weve stayed in over 400 RV Parks and as far as WIFI goes, this RV park places in the Top Ten! We give this park 5-Stars for the fantastic WIFI! Our AT&T phones worked great here too. This park is a small well-maintained family owned park. The owners are very friendly and fantastic hosts. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we also give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. Some RV Parks also have very narrow roads which make backing up very difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver our coach. Some RV Parks are so dusty that one has to clean their coach after a stay, but not here, the dust on our coach was very minimal compared to many other parks. Our satellite did receive reception. Theres plenty of places to walk your dog here. The bad...the road coming into the park has some fairly big potholes. This is a nice place to stay and we recommend it!
This park has an excellent country feel and is close to everything Savannah. The spots arent anything to write home about, but are reasonably level with full hookups. The park has three lakes, clubhouse, farm animals, pool, playground, laundromat, and a screened in pavilion to chill in by the lake. There is plenty of room to do pretty much anything.
Red Gate is such a beautiful place. Were leaving tomorrow and I am sad to go. Gorgeous scenery..especially waterfront where our site is located. We have to give another shout out to the maintenance man, Tyler Webster. Yesterday during a freak storm, our awning relocated itself to the roof of the camper. Today Tyler came to our rescue again and he and my husband were able to roll up the awning and safely secure the awning to the camper for our drive home tomorrow. Thank you once again,Tyler. You are an important asset to this park. We will return..and youd better be here!! True southern hospitality..the Grays, Edgewater, FL.
One thing I can say for sure is that this is a very clean place. It was for sure not a resort type campground, but it served our purpose. The setting is a long standing family farm and many of the family still work there. The amenities are simple, but comfortable. The camp area for sure needs some decorating, but like I said, it served our purpose. We have two dogs and my favorite part of staying there was exploring the property. If you have children, they will love walking around and seeing the animals. Would I stay here again, you bet I would.
We booked this campground last minute for our kids spring break, wanting to be close to Tybee. I was a little nervous after reading some reviews, about it not being what we were expecting or not being kid friendly... but those were all wrong for us. This is a gorgeous, family run campground. There were quite a few other families with kids enjoying the playground, pool and grounds. This is definitely a one of a kind campground. Youre close to Savannah and Tybee. . but with views like youre in the country. The nature trails, ponds and horses all make this one of our families favorites. If youre looking for a fancy RV park with perfect grass and cement pads, youll be disappointed. But if youre looking for a relaxing trip, on a real farm, then this is your place.
My husband and I went horseback riding for the 1st time today. Thank you to Tatum and Jessica for a great experience. We would definitely recommend going here.
This is a very special place and much more than a standard RV park. The surrounds are so serene and magical with the lake and the forrest and paddocks with animals. You can see why people hold their weddings on the property. We had only planned to stay one night but ended up staying 3. We did a dry site in the RV and had a beautiful view of the lake. The pool and playground were a great plus for the kids and we enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was only 8 minute drive into Savannah Historic district which was unbelievable. I hope very much we get to visit here again.
This place is wonderful. There is many different things to do and I want to specially thank Denisse for being so attentive and nice when my daughter went horseback riding. Its awesome, I will for sure go back soon.
Pulled into basically a field. Site # facing backwards. Got out to broken glass out our front door and garbage in our fire pit. We noticed they dont clean any of them. Nice pool but clubhouse not well kept and all furnishings were dirty. Not recommended.describ
Convenient to downtown Savannah. Clean and Quiet. Pretty simple place. Water pressure was terrible and was not able to shower. Checked with a few other campers who said they had the same issue. Otherwise quant little place.
Beautiful place.. nice people.. we needed one night.. while passing through.. I wanted my girl to see Savannah ..after all, her name is Georgia.. they had no spots.. but made one for us in dry camping.. which was perfect.. we have an onan
Very friendly and helpful staff.. beautiful location.. very quiet and only minutes from downtown Savannah.. this is the BEST campground in the area!!!
Beautiful farm, pool was awesome, easy in and out. Would be a 5 star except for road noise, and actual campground is BEFORE you get to the actual farm so you cant actually see it from campground, rv campground its just a basic open field lot surrounding a strange rectangular dirt mound in the middle of the camp property (not very appealing) Once you walk into the farm section...its pretty. We paid $50 (included veteran 10% discount), camped in a class A, pull through, full hookup.
In this time of panic you can count on RED GATE we were traveling and met LESLIE and she is WONDERFUL. Wish every campground had a LESLIE.
This is a nice place to have date. My girlfriend loved this new experience. Try something new and fun. Yes Im going back.
Nice campground. Sites by the water are beautiful and shady but the remaining sites are out in the full sun. My son loved the pool. Small fitness room. They need to replace (or fix) the pool table in the rec room. We tried watching the Stanley cup game but the tv kept shutting off every 5 minutes, for some reason.
We loved this spot. Friendly staff and lots of room to roam. Family friendly!
3 days at beautiful Red Gate Farms. Friendly, helpful staff. Electricity checked good, good wifi. No cable but plenty of local channels. Level sites with crushed gravel, fire pit and table. Trash pickup each morning by 9am. Beautiful farm with pool, playground, farm animals to pet and a beautiful antebellum home to view. Showers and laundry were nice and clean. Very peaceful. You would never know that you were within minutes of downtown Savannah. A train track is near but only came by a couple of times. No big deal. Horseback riding with Sayde was a welcome change. Beautiful property for a nice ride. CONS: No recycling. We will return.
Echoing the positive impressions of others here. This lovely venue used by locals for weddings and more. Unusual natural environment so close to town. Some highway and rail traffic noise, but would visit again.
Beautiful place. Wish we could have stayed longer. So peaceful. Well taken care of. Walking trail, ponds.
Ivery been a full time RV traveler for 5 years. Red Gate is the best place and experience Ive have and been lucky to find! The land is awesome, surrounded by trees, quiet, friendly, and very welcoming. Its a place alot of campers find hard to leave and come back to visit. Check it out! Jena
Avery nice little park. Clean & peaceful. We would definitely come back again. Close to historical sites in Savannah.
1st class all the way in every way in an uncle Joes welcoming farm environment. Nature, horses, ducks, lakes; beautiful settings, quiet, peaceful, clean, efficient, very close to Savannah. Reserve way ahead and try to reserve spots C1, C2 or C3 on the Lake front and insist that they create C4, C5, C6 etc. We loved it especially after KOA dumps.
Not a bad campground. Doesnt quite look like the website picture. But its a nice quiet place.
Easy to get from interstate. Very friendly and quiet. Horseback riding pool farm animals to see and pet. Beautiful place
Wife and i spent a 3 night weekend there. property is beautiful. very relaxing. short drive to downtown savannah historic area. we went on a horse trail ride. Sayde the lady instructing and leading us on the ride was very knowledgeable, patient, and a great teacher.
Close to downtown (10-15min) about 35 min drive to Tybee island. Campground is well maintained nice size lots. Loved it, and will definitely come back.
Really loved this place. However the pictures arent totally accurate. A little rundown. Its a shame because its has so much potential. But nice and clean restrooms and friendly employees. Not all sites have full hookups. No pads. Kind of rocky. The highlight of my trip was taking a horseback ride. They offer riding. The girl Sadie was so kind and professional. Loved the horse they offered me Red a perfect Gentleman. Beautiful grounds. Truly a beautiful piece of property! Kids will love this place! Swimming pool, game room and play area. Catch and release fishing. Great place for large RVs. Easy to move around with those big rigs. Very close to town. The trolly will pick you up at the park and take you to town and bring you back. We went two days in a row. Worth every penny. All in All, loved our stay here!!
Amazing park thats really close to Savannah, the tour trolley comes right into the park. Truly a gem.
