One of the worst companies to do business with. Fees are unacceptable high and customer service is terrible. Expect to pay 30-45% more than their published prices in fees.
If you want to be nickled and dimed sign up for this service. Cancelled after numerous price hikes and still got charged for the next quarter of service even though we cancelled before the quarter started. Called to get a refund and instead got charged 34 more dollars because we hadn’t paid enough to cover our cancel charge. Worked through the math with customer service to show we should get a refund and promised to get it to us. Instead got charged the 34 dollars. The customer service rep straight up lied to me and charged me anyways. Save your money and use a local service.
Requested a refund from WM back in November for an over pay of over $300. I have called back twice now inquiring to the where about of the refund and both times have been disappointed with the service I have received. The first time I was told it takes 4-6 weeks and I should be receiving it anytime. The second time I was told my request wasnt submitted until the 29th of December and the request was processed on the 23rd (which makes absolutely no sense that they processed my request days before I even requested it?!). She told me my account doesnt have any information as to where the check is at/if its been processed and when I requested to speak to the billing department was told she was unable to forward my call as the billing department doesnt have customer phone number...so now I have to wait for her to call me back with the requested information. Here they have a superior customer who never misses a bill - actually over pays my bill to cover any extra fees (leaves, extra bags, etc) and I get treated this way. Sad they bought out Garbage Man as that business was absolutely fabulous!
Worst customer service experience ever. They add charges to your account and dont own up to them. We had one customer service representative tell us we should be upset and they were escalating our issue due to the error, and we then spoke to the rudest person who would not allow us to speak to a manager. We will be taking them to small claims court.
You have several better options in the twin cities. If you value quality, customer service, dependability, or value, you will be disappointed with these guys. Missed pickups, late pickups, changed schedules, bad customer service, increase the rates that are already higher than several competitors. They even charge you a fee to cancel on prepaid accounts with no contracts. Absurd! I wish I would have shopped around more and trusted the reviews.
Waste Management online and phone payment did not work because they gave us an account number not recognized by the system then charged a $50 Resume Service fee even though we paid the invoice. Will be leaving this company.
MY WM system is in Fairmont MN, not Savage. I am happy with the service and will continue even though their competitor is less costly.
Terrible yard waste service collection. First, WM forgot to collect my scheduled yard waste i.e., Thursday 11/7. I checked the bin on Tuesday 11/12, and found the yard waste had not been collected. After I informed them of their oversight, they promised me that the yard waste would definitely be picked by the end of Wednesday 11/13. I checked the bin at 8:30PM on 11/13 and the yard waste bin was still full.Analysis: Im the gullible one for believing that WM cared about its customers. The saddest part is I beleived the rep. I spoke with on 11/12 who convinced me to trust her. I must congratulate such an accomplished liar. And, kudos to WM for a great con job!!!
WM is very undependable. Ive only been using them for 4 months, and they have missed numerous pickups. Their customer service employees - while pleasant - are not able to solve issues. Taking my business elsewhere. Also, they charge $75 cancelling the contract early. Avoid the headache and use a different garbage collector.
I had given Waste Management 1 star previously. However, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I had been calling the nationwide customer service number. This is a pain, gives no info, doesnt end with results. I visited my closest WM office and talked to a local manager in person. I then got contact info for my local manager. I just want to say big thanks to Barb for always answering questions, being kind, etc. My advice to all is dont call the national help line. Go find your contact for your local manager. Changed everything for the better.
I found out on July 8th that I had a credit of $1,698. I was told I would get my refund in 6-8 weeks. After 4 weeks I called to see where they were at with the process. A refund was approved on July 25th. I was then told it would take 4-6 weeks to get my refund. I called again on August 19th to follow up. A check still hasnt been sent. Waste Management is setting on my money for 8 weeks probably drawing interest. If I didnt pay them in a timely manner, Im sure I would be hearing from Waste Management. Im so done with group. I asked to speak to the manager but Ive been on hold so long I need to hang up and call back again to complain. Dont waste your time with these clowns. Im cancelling their service. I wouldnt even give them one star but I had to.
What a scam they have going. Watch out for fine print on back of their agreement. We sure didnt see it.We decided to use a local company to take care of the dumpster on our acreage instead of Waste Management. I submitted a request for cancellation on November 11th. I was contacted a few days later and told we were AUTOMATICALLY RENEWED for THREE more years starting January 1st 2017, but we had to provide 90 days notice to cancel. Thats right, after 1075 days, they lock you in for another 1075 days with no notice.The only way out is to pay them three times the monthly amount.Their response was Its never pleasant when these situations arise. Apparently there is no possible way to override the giant computer at Waste Management that sends bills and accepts payments.
I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank you for allowing me to make the decision to switch to Lakeville / Dicks Sanitation.On Thursday after our pickup, our bins were taken away. We had called and asked what was going on and they advised we had a past due payment, which was true as we had forgot as there was no mail or email that I received lately.We paid and finished our services with you on Friday one day after bin removal.I just received warning of past due payment today in the mail dated 6-14-18, which was sent last Thursday. So in your greedy ways of taking bins and sending the notice on the same day opposed to informing a customer of accidental missed payment, this has caused you to lose another customer.Thank you for this opportunity as Lakeville / Dicks Sanitation came in significantly cheaper than your services and actually seem enthused to have us as customers.
They missed my pickup on Friday, then said they would pickup on Saturday. Still didn’t show up on Saturday. And now their office is closed on Sunday and tomorrow they are closed for MLk day.We have already waited 11 days for this pickup because they bought the company whose service we were using. Ridiculous. We have 6 humans and a dog at our house. Our garbage is bursting at the seams.If they come on tuesday it’ll have been 15 days since our last pickup.
Ill try to keep this brief:Here are the facts.1) There is a charge to start up service2) There were 3 price increases in the 18 months we had them.3) There is a fee to quit their service and pick up their cartsHere is my take on their service:Their service is spotty and when you call about it, they treat you like your the problem. Considering the fees I would seriously reconsider giving them a try. It might be more costly, less effective and more aggravating than you think.
Without a doubt, these people gave the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. On our first scheduled collection day, their trucks bypassed our house three times without picking up anything. As a new customer, we werent 100% up to speed on their procedures, so we called their office to make sure we were doing things right. Through a series of phone calls and emails, their staff was snippy—at best—and absolutely no help. (Id have given zero stars if the rating field permitted it.) We ultimately contacted another company to pick up our trash and recycling, and they were happy to have us.I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere for garbage removal services.
