This dojo and the owners Clayton and his wife are absolutely Amazing. I highly recommended. If I could I would give them 6 stars. Their affordable with no contract and you can come as many times as you like. They make you feel like family and all around Great people. 👍

My daughter enjoys the kids class so much. Professor Clayton and Coach Sam are extremely skilled and patient with their instructions and guidance. They both (along with help from more experienced classmates) handle the range of kiddo experience levels with such care and are able to provide excellent lessons. They have a fantastic ability to make the classes educational and skill building while keeping a fun flair to keep the kids excited to come back for more! Very grateful to have Manasota JJ available to us and we highly recommend.

It has been a great honor and privilege to have trained with the team at Manasota Jiu Jitsu academy. I have trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu off and on for the past 20 years and have visited and trained at several different academies in that time. Manasota Jiu Jitsu has been one of the most welcoming and competitively active. Clayton Lyons and many of the black belts there have amassed decades worth of combined experience that can benefit any practitioner. The environment is very friendly and ideal for the hobbyist or the active competitor. I unfortunately had to move out of the area, but will definitely make it a point to visit if in the area again. I would highly recommend Manasota Jiu Jitsu to anyone whether they be the experienced veteran or looking to begin their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey.

Just moved down here from Colorado Springs, and trained at Cies MMA. Manasota Jiu Jitsu feels just like home, given both gyms have a Sergio Pehna lineage. Coach Clayton and all the gym members I met were very welcoming. Additionally, Im just returning from an injury, and wasnt pushed beyond my current limitations. Id definitely recommend anyone looking for a BJJ gym in the Bradenton/Sarasota area to check Manasota Jiu Jitsu out.

If you have any interest in learning Jiu Jitsu I would highly recommend this spot. This is a school in its truest sense where teaching and learning are at the forefront. You will not be intimidated here, quite the contrary. This School is very welcoming and a great place to start or continue your Jiu Jitsu journey. I tried several schools before settling on this one and can absolutely say the instruction and team are the best in town.

Manasota is top notch gym with great coaches and solid technical instruction. I trained here for a week while on vacation and as black belt who trains all the time and travels a lot I really recommend training here. The Manasota jiujitsu team is a tight knit group that is welcoming to newcomers and the friendly environment ensures that class is always a great time.

The instructors are excellent! It’s a very friendly environment where everyone is more than happy to help each other out and offer advice on how to improve. Every class is a fun and rewarding experience.

The instructors care about the students well-being and create a great learning environment. Very laid back instructors and with 5+ black belts teaching various classes I have received many different perspectives that allowed me to form the game that best suits me. Great gym for all levels. Head instructor Clayton Lyon provides an ego free and safe training atmosphere with high quality technique for both Gi and No gi grapplers. There are 5+ black belts that cycle through the gym and assist in providing instruction as well as participating in active grappling with everyone. The gym is open 7 days a week with multiple class times. Stop in and try a class, you will not regret it!!
