I have to thank the technicians at Notts automotive, they provided a very detailed diagnosis of my vehicles issues that included an HD video walkthrough of their analysis. The price for their labor was reasonable and they had my car up and running better than ever within 24 hours. Their repairs have even helped with my vehicles fuel economy

I was looking for someone to flash an ECU with a different VIN. Google show them as doing ECU programming which is the same as flashing oh, and their website says they do it. So I called them to find out the cost. I was told that they do not do it but rather use a third-party company. False advertising. Not a good way to start a relationship but oh wait theyre not going to have one with me

Ive had my Lexus work down here several times and Im always happy with the work that they do and a very fair price. I also had my Toyota Tacoma worked on and even though its a new truck it needed a few things but they were very reasonable in their estimate and they took care of everything.

Ive never written a review of an automotive service shop in my life because, frankly, just about all of them are terrible. However, I would award 6 stars to Notts if possible. One of the owners, Tray, was perhaps the nicest, most honest, and straight forward person Ive ever encountered when faced with an auto emergency. On route from Pittsburgh to Naples, our Jeep broke down outside of Sarasota just days before Christmas. The first two places we called couldnt help us but both places, unsolicited, recommended Notts. Tray, when hearing our story, fit us in right away to diagnose the problem. And, its not like he wasnt already busy. His shop was full and his crew pulled a car out they were working on to take a look at our problem. The diagnosis, not surprisingly, was grim and Tray was very forthright about the options and his recommendation (not worth the major fix). He could have taken advantage of our circumstances but instead helped arrange for our rental, didnt even charge for the diagnostics test (!), and as a final gesture of extreme goodwill, let us leave our Jeep on his property for the time being until we figured out a trade-in / disposal solution. Im not from the Sarasota area but would undoubtedly recommend Tray and Notts for anyone looking for honest and fair automotive help.

Ive gone to Notts Automotive for several years, even when the previous owner was there. They are honest, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. I was there this morning because my brake light was on and my car stated that my brake pads needed to be repaired. Expecting the worse, Mark called to my brakes were good and did not need replacement. Honesty! I highly recommend this garage.

Great place to bring your car. New to the area and picked them due to the online reviews. Would give 10 stars if possible. They do a fantastic job. Show you everything needed to be done. Never Rip you off and accommodate your schedule. Staff is always friendly and understanding.

Notts is a rare gem. No one wants to go to the repair shop but I have to say, I do not hate going here. Mark and Troy go out of their way to show you whats happening every step of the way. Stop down with a problem which is actually going to be covered by Ford recall and they were gracious enough to run a diagnostic on my car and not charge me anything at all. They are trustworthy and honest I would highly recommend them for any car repairs.

Im truly impressed with the customer service at Notts. I had problems with my car that another auto shop did not point out and they were able to find it, send me a personalized video to explain what was going on and fix it, giving me peace of mind. Reliable and honest service!

My car had three problems. The windshield wipers, the bright headlights and the air conditioning werent working. I took it to an automotive repair shop that has a decent reputation. They said it needed a new windshield wiper motor and bright light switch and that the dashboard would have to be dropped in order to figure out the a/c problem.Then I took it to Notts Automotive for a second opinion. They adjusted the windshield wipers (they were installed incorrectly), fixed a broken wire to the light switch, and used a small camera to look under the dashboard and fix the a/c problem. I didnt need a windshield wiper motor or light switch and the dashboard didnt need to be dropped. It cost less than a quarter of what the original mechanic estimated and took less time to fix.Notts gets all its 5-star ratings for a reason! They are expert at diagnosing problems, assessing repair options, and fixing your car correctly, the first time. They are honest, their prices are fair, and they are all round nice people, from the office to the shop.Since my first repair, Ive taken my car in for other issues and have enjoyed nothing but stellar service and fair pricing. Plus, they always explain the problem and the solution (or solution options), so I am confident in the work they are doing.P.S. Since moving from Sarasota to North Carolina, I’ve yet to find a reputable independent auto shop to service my BMW.Because Knott’s automotive was my mechanic of choice, I’m used to the bar they’ve set, which is extremely high. This makes it impossible to find a new shop of choice.Luckily, my parents are in Tampa, so you can bet I’m getting all service and repairs done at Knott’s every time I visit them. I just refuse to let anyone work on my car.My first experience at this shop tells you all you need to know about the people that work here. I was in for an AC repair and planned to sit in the lobby until it was done, as I didn’t have a ride.The second I sat down, one of the employees came up to me, unsolicited, and offered a ride back to my house so I didn’t have to sit around bored out of my mind.Turns out this wasn’t one of the employees, it was the owner himself. I took him up on his offer and he even picked me up hours later.The AC service, by the way, was phenomal. It’s been a year since the tune up and it runs cooler than ever before, all for like $80.Rarely do I take the time to compliment a business for doing their job, but Knott’s goes above and beyond and I’m compelled to recognize that.

Honest and thorough! With auto repair rates creeping up on $100/hour at most any shop these days, its nice to find mechanics who will actually go the extra mile. Its pretty easy to find dishonest mechanics who will overcharge, and round up to the next hour, so they can get the extra money. When you find a place where a one hour labor charge equals one hour of hard work (or more), thats where you want to take your car. After my first visit to Notts Automotive, I can honestly say that I trust these guys.

I highly recommend Nott’s to everyone. I made the mistake of going to the dealer for some repairs because I had a coupon for a free oil change. After agreeing to some work, all of a sudden they “discovered” some other things that needed to be done which included a part they wanted $552 which I was able to procure for $300 less. (Both, BTW, were rebuilt.) The dealer also misdiagnosed several other issues and estimated exorbitant charges.I’m relatively new to Sarasota so I asked my real estate agent’s associate for an alternative/ a recommendation. Lucky me! She recommended Nott’s Automotive. Mr. Nott fixed all my car problems and I believe at a much fairer price. I’ll never take my car to anyplace but Nott’s.

The folks at Notts automotive are as honest, reliable, friendly and professional as they come. I brought my 2006 Expedition in for an intermittent issue I was having. They spent several hours of the course of two days troubleshooting and trying to replicate the issue. They were unable to replicate the issue I was having and their conclusion was that culprit could have been bad gasoline. They also informed me that my brakes were just fine, after Tire Kingdom told me that it was urgent that they be replaced. They refused to take any money from me for their time. If you are looking for a mechanic you can trust, you couldnt ask for a better shop than this. I recommend them to everyone I know in the area.

A couple of months ago. My car broke down on the jnterstate. I was from out of town and I had no idea what happened or where to tow it. It was towed to Notts and I wasnt sure what would happen. I was given a call the next day by them. I cant say enough about the service. Not only they figure out the problem they found out it was a defect and had my Hyundai Sonata towed to a dealership without any cost to me. Thank you for going above and beyond to help me!!!

There arent too many honest mechanic shops left, but this is definitely one of them. Explained the problems with my truck clearly, showed me the old parts and the price was very fair. Cant beat that.
