Ken helped us design a beautiful mountain engagement ring. It was so fun to work together with him to imagine what it could look like and then to see it become even more than we had hoped! He was fun to work with and down to get creative, easy to communicate with, and reasonably priced. We are back now designing my wedding band. Design Jewelers and its owner, Ken Gray, are simply the best of the best. I’ve never written a review, but the outstanding service that I received deserves to be acknowledged and shared with those looking for an expert and trusted jeweler. My sad story of a beautiful, sentimental, and lost diamond ended joyously when I picked up my ring today. Ken, who is a Certified Gemologist, presented an appraisal for my insurance company that resulted in my receiving almost $1000 more than the company was originally willing to pay. His expert knowledge simply left no room for argument. The replacement stone is GIA Certified, so I’ve no doubt that it matches the quality of my original. After almost two months of haggling with the claims adjuster, I am now at peace. Kudos to Design Jewelers. I shall be forever grateful.

I went shopping for something special for my wife Kathryn and wandered into Kens store. A sphene caught my eye as being colorful, sparkly, and unique. I came back with Kathryn who agreed it is a beautiful stone. We bought it. A design came to her in a dream - something like a sequence of cosmic events leading to creation - the stone. She bounced her ideas off Ken who worked it up using his talent and design software and they came to an agreement about what could be done and how that fit Kathryns ideas and inspiration. Ken was a pleasure to work with and the end product is truly unique and beautiful. He gladly worked with us to find the right stones of shape and quality, and to create a mold so we could get a visual idea of how it would look. Ken is truly an artist. He custom designed a ring and necklace with a Tanzanite I brought back from Tanzania. I would not consider anyone else for my jewelry needs. He is simply the best.

This review is long overdue – In 2015, I took my engagement ring to Ken at Design Jewelers in hopes he could fix what a well-known jeweler downtown tried to pass off as a “sizing” but was a complete distortion of my ring. After being left in tears from that experience, I was hesitant to let my ring go to just anybody so I had a lot questions and of all the jewelers I called, Ken was the only one to graciously answer them all. He understood my frustration and through his explanation of what the ring needed to be fixed, I knew he genuinely cared about getting my ring back to how it was and making me happy again. I felt confident that he could get the job, and boy did he! My ring not only actually fit, but it was put back together, and my heart couldn’t have been happier! My husband has gone to Ken in past years for help to create the most beautiful custom jewelry gifts for me, so it was a no-brainer to choose Design Jewlers and Ken for a particular project I had in my mind. I heard about Ken Grays work from a friend who had a custom mens wedding ring made for him that was completely unique and very cool using black diamonds. So I gave Design Jewelers a call and described an idea for a gift for my wife that would be a unique accessory ring with pink stones. Ken was great to work with and we went through a few great designs before finally settling on one. The final product was a beautiful ring done in white gold, diamond and pink sapphire. They kept the price reasonable and the turnaround was about two weeks faster than expected. The best part is it was custom made and my wife loves it!I highly recommend Ken and Design Jewelers! We will be back for our other jewelry needs.

Ken designs the most beautiful custom pieces! I have been going to Design Jewelers for 14 years. He has custom created a necklace, 2 wedding rings and set an additional ring and a pair of earrings for me. He has worked closely with me and my husband to select custom stones and design the pieces to our exact specifications. He had also done restoration on a couple of my rings from the early 1900s. His work is impeccable!

I dont normally take the time to write a review for a business, but I felt the need to do so for the service I received at Design Jewelers. One of the prongs on my wedding ring bent (I am not gentle on my jewelry), and my diamond was loose and the ring needed repair. Id heard about the owner Ken from a friend of mine who bought a custom ring from him and decided to give him a try. My ring was repaired, polished and looks as good as when my husband gave it to me 25 years ago. It was nice to receive such great personal service and know that my jewelry wasnt being sent out somewhere to fix, as many of the big box stores do, as he does it all in his store. Recently my wife and I were shopping for an anniversary ring celebrating our 20th anniversary. We only found a couple of jewelry stores actually make their own designs. It seems most stores buy from the same companies, as all the designs looked a like. We discovered Design Jewelers through a friend, and ended up choosing a beautiful pink sapphire and diamond ring that was one of the owner Kens designs.
