A lovely place with lovely views. Had a great time here. Within walking distance from the beach and the boardwalk. Whether youre relaxing inside the room or enjoying the spacious balcony it overlooked the street and still feel really relaxing oh, its pretty nice place to stay. A little pricey, for the size of the room, but they treat you right.

Unfortunately, my stay was not pleasant, to say the least. I checked into this resort because it was a category 7 resort. However, the rooms are severely outdated and were not clean. There were stains all over the carpet, foul odor coming from the furniture and curtains. I contacted the front desk and spoke to James. He initiated a room switch for me to the room next door. However, after making the switch and preparing myself to take a shower, I turned on the shower and then realized that the shower head was broken. With the water splashing everywhere, I slipped out of the shower bumping my head. Unfortunately, it was late in the evening and the only solution was for James to switch us back over to the unclean room where we then stayed for two nights. My husband and I are highly disappointing and the level of customer service, and staff service. Due to our elite status with Marriott Bonvoy, we receive breakfast credit that we were not informed about until the time of checkout by Elise. We spoke to Kathy and she informed us that she would only refund us for one night. Our room was never recleaned by housekeeping. Again, I am highly disappointed in the level of service we received here. The resort charges for everything and more customer service should be given out to guests. We came to this resort with the intention to book a spa appointment and once we arrived were notified that the spa is still closed due to COVID-19. What a poor excuse! I am so disappointed in this JW Marriott. I just can not believe that this is a category 7 hotel by Marriott. I, unfortunately, do not recommend this resort and will not return. The JW Marriott L.A. LIVE or Ritz Carlton is a much better choice!

I love staying here when I am in town. This hotel is stunning and so relaxing. It has great views and is few minutes away in walking to great places around the area. The staff are always so kind and helpful. During one of my last stays, I accidentally burnt a white dress of mine while using the iron and the guys working valet helped me immediately get it transported to laundry services. I had it returned and cleaned within 2 hours!! Seriously, they are amazing. Thank you so much Le Merigot for all you do.

The hotel/valet staff we’re all kind and the ocean view was beautiful. However, the room was dated. The carpet, especially the carpet in the bathroom, was dirty. The hot water in the shower wasn’t heating up. They sent someone to come take a look and he told me I had to let it run and that the hotel is big so it takes time. The water had to run for 15 minutes before getting warm (huge waste of water). I asked for more towels for the room, but they never came. Room service didn’t answer not once. The spa was still closed. Overall, the quality of the hotel wasn’t great. For the money we paid, we were expecting a little more.

This property is not very new but its location right by Santa Monica boardwalk and park is ideal for families wanting to get away for a long weekend. My family of 10 spent a great 4 days at this property. Staff have been simply amazing. They go over and beyond and provide service like you will never believe. At all times my children and spouse have been service at levels second to none. It is the staff which warrants this property to be worthy of JW status. Vishal and team great job and thankyou so much for looking after my family. Surprisedly, a very nice property. Beds really comfortable, well stocked bathroom amenities and the view is fantastic. Surprised because of its reasonable rates, especially so, for its location to the ocean and easy parking. My only one disappointment, TV channels. You get like 8, and those are channels you never watch on your cable or dish. Heck, even hotels in Vegas offer more.

The location is great, and the staff is friendly. The hotel provides umbrella, towel, and bottle waters for customers to have fun on the beach. However, the room is not what I expected as a 4-star hotel. There are stains on the carpet in the room. Shower curtain rod is loose, and it hits my head after I take the shower. There is slow sink drain, and no exhaust fan in the bathroom.

Not at all deserving of the JW Marriott brand or the price they charge. Rooms are small, dated, and not well kept up. Housekeeping comes only every 3 days which they blamed on COVID. However, hotel was completely full all five days we were there and 80% of guests werent wearing masks. I had to ask 3 different times for a roll away bed for my child and then after 3 days housekeeping took it away and I had to ask again. The only positives are that the valet staff was very good, they gave out free bottles of water, and the gym was nice. Other than that you are far better off somewhere else.

You can walk to the beach from the pool area. I got upgraded to a suite with a huge balcony and view it the pier (room # 504). Please reserve or as for a odd number room if you want a beach or courtyard view.

I stayed here many years ago and again recently. While still a nice hotel, its starting to show its age with the decor in the rooms and state of appearance in certain parts of the hotel. Also, be prepared to pay taxes out the wazoo. my room rate was 250 but total bill was over 400 after taxes and 65 dollar nightly valet fee. If you can get over that, its a great and convenient location close to the pier.

LIPSTICK ON A PIG: This hotel is old, run down and ugly. The age of the building is poorly masked with some 3rd rate cosmetic renovations (which are pretty old too). The room carpets are disgusting, the air conditioning barely works, the elevators are unreliable, furniture that is worn and dirty, rooms that aren’t cleaned properly and staff that cant do anything about it. THIS IS NOT A CATEGORY 7 PROPERTY. This place charges JW Marriott prices for a Motel 8 experience. PURE RIP OFF.

They dont clean rooms daily unless you request to the front desk. Valet parking is 45 dollars per day and no other free parking is around. Breakfast is non-sense expensive like one small cup of milk is 10 dollars. They charge 45 dollars beach equipment fee daily regardless of the usage.Hotel employees were professional and kind. Building and room were old but okay.Room is not sound proof. You can hear everything from other near rooms even when they are not being loud. This is pet-friendly hotel with the fees and many leaves their dogs during the day in their room and the dogs bark all day.Coffee is free in the morning in the lobby.Overall, I do not recommend.

Stayed for three nights with my wife for a shore vacation. I wanted an ocean view and balcony which wasn’t terribly expensive due to Covid. While they are essentially on the beach there was still room to build a large condo blocking most beach views. I did have a sliver to of ocean. The balcony is huge but there is less than zero privacy. The balcony was huge but had only one 2 person table w 2 high chairs and a barely usable outdoor moldy couch. Access to beach was awesome, it’s just that you are taking a serious safety risk walking the 300meters to the beach w so many aggressive homeless. Massive street construction and traffic leading to highway made walking risky. I was fine w resort fee as I used their beach supplies. I didn’t park due to reviews of prices and that was a good move. Guest services were great and hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Overall it was fine for the price, which was cheaper than its neighbor hotels, for good reason I’m sure.

After being guaranteed that my room was feather free, that same night I had a sudden & severe asthma attack alone in my room. I called the front desk for help, but he did not help me.I managed to find my rescue inhaler and take a shower. I removed the pillows & down comforter myself which caused an allergic reaction on my wrists.Despite reporting my condition to the Marriott Customer Care line, the front desk would not answer repeated calls from Corporate.About an hour or two later, I messaged the hotel through the Marriott Bonvoy chat app and I was brought 4 foam pillows & a blanket. And, later, some bottled water. That morning, Naomi offered me free continental breakfast & had my room cleaned. But there was no other action taken, despite the fact that I was completely worn out and could have passed out alone. I should have been taken to the ER.The incident also caused me to have several panic attacks. I travel with a PTSD service animal and he was able to help me most of the time. My service animal became extremely exhausted because of the constant strife. When I checked out after 2 nights, I was still exhausted from the asthma attack & multiple panic incidents.I was informed that this hotel was bought out of foreclosure about 2 weeks ago. The new management is unprofessional.DO NOT STAY HERE UNTIL THEY GET A DIFFERENT FRONT DESK SUPERVISOR AND MANAGER OF OPERATIONS!They do not wear nametags nor do they introduce themselves.

Nice Hotel! We got an Ocean view killer deal due to the covid shut down or So we thought! The room was worth what we paid bc the windows had a hazy ocean film build up. I was so bummed I tried cleaning the windows myself but the insides not the problem! But like I said the hotel itself is nice and modern and clean. The beach opens to the public at 5: or 6:00PM and is accessible through the back gate, its a little tricky but just keep making your way down through the pool area. Youll need your key to get back in. We snuck the bottle of wine we started up in our room down with us and we sat there on Santa Monica beach watching people without hesitation go into this highly concerning dark brown colored water... good lord, I must say, it was very entertaining.

Maher was very friendly and welcoming. Additionally, there were 2 guys working guest service at 11pm on October 3rd and they were very personable. Enjoyed them. The room was very clean. Hotel very safe. The 2 people working guest service the morning of October 3rd did not have the best customer service skills and could had been a little friendlier. They weren’t rude. They just didn’t come across friendly. However, because our room wasn’t ready at 4pm., the young lady offered to put my sister and I in a King bed room with a full ocean view; instead of the partial ocean view double queen room we had reserved. The full ocean view was a plus, but my sister sleeping on a roll away bed was a negative. The room for 1 night was $533 and was small. The ocean view was great though. Was charged a $49.99 destination fee and I wasn’t happy about this because a bottled water and a face mask does not equate to $49.99. This hotel is not close enough to the beach. The Shore hotel is directly across from the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier. And is positioned in the middle of all the excitement. The picture above is of my son, a college student. We travel multiple times throughout the year and I must say I wasn’t impressed by this hotel.

While the staff was very polite, I’m somewhat disappointed in this place. My girlfriend and I work in a hospital in town and were looking to stay a couple of nights between shifts (I was under the impression some Marriotts were discounting for healthcare workers back in April/May, but it was ultimately my fault for not checking first). However, I recently received another credit card charge (three weeks post-stay) that included several hundred dollars of resort fees/taxes. This wouldn’t be an issue, except the (empty) hotel had all amenities closed at the time of our stay (gym, restaurant, spa, bar, pool, etc.). I understand and fully support why they were closed, though it doesn’t seem fair to pay absurd amounts for amenities that are restricted from use.$49 for nightly parking. Rooms and hotel didn’t appear modern/new; dark, dimly lit elevators (sometimes the lights were completely off) capped with antiquated carpets/room furniture). Finally, it was disheartening that they didn’t place us in a room with a better view. There were clearly only a few people staying in the entire hotel. I feel they didn’t have to put us in a tiny back corner wobbly-patio furniture room.Just to reiterate, the staff was very nice (reception, valet) and they did a great job enforcing sanitizing/wearing masks. Still, this was not worth the time/money.

I cant say enough about this hotel. Ill skip over all the stuff youd expect at a top hotel in Santa Monica. Theyve got all that covered. I noticed that all the little things were done well. Our room was wonderful with all the amenities that Id want. Nice ocean view, really nice bathroom, great TV, refrigerator, comfortable king size bed. No matter what time I turned on the hot water, it was hot in seconds. The continental breakfast was excellent with fresh baked goods and fruit. Excellent coffee.Nice pool; heated. I should mention the gym: lots of excellent machines and its located near the pool and the beach. The hotel is located near the Santa Monica Pier and many excellent restaurants. I really couldnt ask for more in a hotel.

Le Merigot is our go-to hotel for a beach experience. Basically on the beach and the pier with great property security and vacation-related amenities. Spa is top notch and there is nothing quiet like an evening on the patio with a fire going and the sound of waves breaking nearby. Food could be better and choices are limited but it is plenty good, but certainly not cheap. Easy walk to food and shopping in Santa Monica. The staff is amazing from the time you drive up, through check-in, and departure. Very prompt and on top of their game. The hotel has the feel of a nice boutique urban establishment: well maintained, fresh, friendly, and intimate. Watch out for Californias excise taxes. They add almost 30% to the cost of your stay. Valet was $55 a night so be ready!

Jessica at the front desk was great! She helped me get into my room in a timely manner and checked on me regularly while I was waiting. Seth was a fountain of knowledge at the bar and helped me select some great choices. Andrada at the bar was wonderful when I went down for dinner. Engaging and had an excellent knowledge of the wine selection, just like my last visit! And of course, the view from my room of the Pacific Ocean was amazing!!!

We spent two nights in a suite following the LA Marathon. It was an amazing experience! The rooms were spacious including the furnished balcony with a view of the beach. We enjoyed the pool, beach access, the beautiful food and beverage options. Cleanliness was never a concern. The bed and bedding were wonderful. Essential requirements for me to be happy. But the stand out feature has to have been the stellar service offered by everyone on staff, starting with Shayna at the front desk and continuing throughout our stay. Even when we said we were fine, the staff were quick to offer suggestions that might make our stay even more enjoyable. Mission accomplished, JW Marriott Team! Thank you!

Ive been visiting Santa Monica for years as well as traveling for work. Its taken me this long to discover this hotel which will now be our #1 choice! Super helpful and friendly staff. Awesome spa and fitness center, relaxing by the pool is bliss. Rooms are comfortable, nicely finished and modern. Incredible location! Right by Santa Monica pier, close to Main St and the pedestrian shopping area. No brainer.

Do not come here. Food prices high. Paid for extra fees in the room for things we can not utilize because of covid. Hair in the bed and hair on the hand towels and then another when unfolding a towel. Asked for extra pillows because theirs are so flat and never received them. After asking about them again the next day finally got them. First ice bucket recieved had pop spilled in it and was not cleaned out so i sent it back. Valet charged me double for one car multiple days. Check your bill if you do decide to stay. Still fighiting the charges.

We booked on the rewards phone reservation system and paid extra for an ocean view. When we arrived, the hotel reservation system stated we had a standard room. My payment and email confirmation clearly stated we had an ocean view. We ended up with a partial ocean view, even though we paid extra. I’m skeptical that any room has a great view. There is another building between the hotel and the beach.

I waited at an unattended front desk on 3 different occasions during my stay. There was no bell or other way to alert them that I was there. In each case it turns out that staff was in a room behind the front desk. They were pleasant once they realized I was there, but I have never experienced this issue at a luxury hotel.

The staff was great! I had a great time when I was there celebrating my birthday over the weekend. The beds were so comfortable and the location is perfect, right across from the beach and the pier. I totally recommend it. You will enjoy it.

We had a blast in Santa Monica it was really not a bad hotel. We personally had trouble checking in and our room wasn’t that clean. Besides that there is a lot to do around the hotel. Venice beach is right down the street. There are lots of great restaurants in the vicinity, since we love to eat this was a huge bonus. I think we walked to dinner every night. The pier is also very close and fun for the kids. It’s defin located in a much cleaner area than the marina hotels near Venice beach. If you have children and want to feel safe I would stay here before I stayed near the marina and closer to Venice beach.

I had an amazing stay at JW Marriot. The service was probably the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. They were not only polite and friendly but eager to help. I really enjoyed the room and the view as well. It was close to the beach and pier which was perfect. Definitely coming back.

No upgrades although they make you wait and feel like you will get a great room. Bad housekeeping. They will take unpinned bottles of champagne from your room when you call they blame you when you reorder and leave a half bottle they come at night and take. Dated property looks modern from exterior rooms are dark and dated.

This was my second trip, both for my birthday. The staff went out of their way to make my son and I feel welcomed. Anything we needed, from bottled waters to dinner recommendations, were promptly attended to with a great attitude. The location, just one block from the beach and an easy walk to Santa Monica Pier is fantastic! Well definitely be back if time allows.
