I love this gym! i really enjoy going to this gym the staff is nice and the people just mind there own business SOOO its pretty good. Ive been training here for two years. Very affordable price, very complete equipment. Most importantly, the fitness atmosphere here is great! I made a lot of friends here and they taught me a lot of knowledge and attitude about fitness. The only inconvenience is that there are so few password lockers. There are only about 10 cipher lockers in the mens locker room, so many members have to bring their own locks.
Covid summer setup is nice with outdoor setup for half of the machines. Too bad the mask wearing compliance isnt great.
After receiving a telephone call to come and try the gym for day for FREE and made an appointment with them, we arrived and they told us we had to PAY for a day pass because we were out of state. We did not see that anywhere on the website and would have avoided coming had we known that. Wished they were more accommodating and understanding.
James, the staff member who answered the phone was extremely rude when I called and asked to speak with the manager about a recent price increase. He had the audacity to suggest I cancel my membership! Ive been a member with 24 Hour Fitness for over 10 years and have never had anyone speak to me in that manner. This boy needs training. He needs to learn what customer service means and why repeat business is essential especially in times like these!
Been going here for years now and I absolutely love it and besides the fact that the no longer provide towels, i have no complaints.
I really like the outside gym set up in the parking lot. Fresh air, really helps you to stay focused on a great work out. Chill atmosphere, Great vibes. Fantastic!
Great gym !!! Right now they also have outdoor gym. It’s awesome to workout looking at the trees and sky 🥰🥰🥰🥰
First time back since January 2020. Some distancing guidelines are still in place (for the best), but it didnt feel so weird. Looking forward to burning off my pandemic blubber here.
After a heavy day, I feel sweating it out. I found this place where I feel comfortable working out. Their equipment are well maintained and always kept clean.
Best one so far . I like the outdoor gym . Nice staff .
Its great to be back, I recommend this location they got work out classes and outdoor work out area

4 stars only because short staffed. Otherwise, the rest is fine
There is nothing like working out outside I love it a lot of space and not a lot of people
Not bad outdoor... should have done this LAST YEAR.
I used to love this gym but now I’m looking at others. It’s so unbearably crowded most the time now, I can’t get a decent workout in without having to wait for each individual machine. It hasn’t even been a week since they cancelled towel service, and it has gotten very unsanitary. Half the machines have visible puddles of sweat. How is it a “green” decision to cancel towel service and ask people to bring their own towels and wash them rather than provide them and wash them in bulk? That creates more Individual waste by forcing people to buy more stuff and most LA apartments community washrooms and coin op machines are not water efficient. If I go at night and I see the cleaning crew, I immediately go home. They throw so much dust in the air that it’s a health hazard. The dust in the pictures below was ok the floor for over an hour with no cleaning crew around at all. So disappointing.
They have outside and inside workout areas. Social distance spacing on equipment.
I love the place very clean more it has more machines I like
Who actually leaves reviews on google maps tho
You need to reopenI need my trainingLove the gym so clean and safe
Danny Lerner (Assistant GM) provided tour of facility emphasizing areas of interest that were previously discussed. His appropriate knowledge, phenomenal decorum and immense patience leaves you wanting additional training. Simply put, he is to be emulated.Michael Tuesca (General Manager) the original individual my family conversed with and exchanged emails with regarding membership initiation/purchase... provided detailed information on benefits and included enticing perks. Was kind and respectful when addressing alternatives to major concerns.Ask for Michael T. or Danny L. if you come across any obstacles. Thank you both!!!
It has the usual amenities, minus the free-to-use towels. The gym is just way too small to handle how busy it can get, especially during peak hours. Its clean though. Lots of squat racks, but only two benches. I would definitely avoid this place during busy hours.
Would not refund membership when gym is closed due to covid. Tried calling, leaving messages, sending emails and had no response. This business doesn’t deserve your money especially during / after a pandemic. Look elsewhere. Extremely disappointed
I usually love 24 hour fitness but seriously this place is too packed. Its hard to get machines that I want without waiting around and by the time its my turn its kind of gross. The water area smells funky. I miss the old 24 hr fitness when it was clean and felt more upscale.
I had a 2 year 24hr Fitness Sport Costco membership with more than a year left and asked if I could transfer the remaining balance to this Super-sport club. They said yes, they would just take the standard $40 a month from the more than $200 of value I had left, and that they would waive the initiation fee. That should have given me at least 5 months, but instead THEY INAPPROPRIATELY TOOK MONEY FROM MY CARD on the 2nd month. I spoke with them and they rudely acknowledged their error and returned the money. On the 3rd month THEY CONTINUED TO FRAUDULENTLY CHARGE MY CARD! I spoke to them again, including the manager, I tried being friendly and polite, I told them that I didnt want to deal with them anymore, all I wanted was my remaining balance or for it to be applied to a different club, but THEY REFUSED TO RETURN MY MONEY claiming that they do not do refunds and other BS. I filed a claim with my bank and they forced them to return the money that they charged me, but I still wanted my remaining balance from my 2 yr contract. I was going to sue but they make YOU SIGN A CONTRACT that says you can only take them to small claims court; I dont know much about the legal system but it all seemed overwhelming for what I sought. They did this when I was going through a very low point in my life. I still have documentation and voice recordings for any prosecutors that would like to see! Also, this gym was always dirty/smelly and overcrowded! Cheers!
They require masks unless you say you have a medical condition. Thats all you have to say and then no mask is required. So there are people there working, breathing hard, not not wearing masks. Seems like a dangerous situation. I wont be going back until they require everybody to wear a mask
The personal trainer Denise is very good. She is professional, knowledgeable and ethical. She gave me the best accurate advise which is helpful and let me know my fitness condition well. I highly recommend her if you wanted a quality trainer to start with. However, the gym is a bit busy and always needs to line up for the pull down machine. The pool area has lots of water and no one take care. Steam and sauna are for mixed gender so I dont feel comfortable using as a female
Ehh price went up a bit, the sauna smells like theres a dead body under the floor, and they have ended towel service to be sustainable. Just a heads up - people are going to keep using towels even though you stopped including them in the membership fee, so its not exactly sustainable as you are proudly proclaiming at the front desk, but I think we both know that.Other than that there is parking and usually everything works so thats good 👍
Nice that its opened 24 hours. I canceled my membership because it got too crowded for me. I was going really really late at night to avoid the crowds but it was crowded. the place was not so clean and the equipment was not really up to par with what I was used to.I was a member for a very long time but just became too much. If I lived closer I might have been able to cope but it just got to be too much.
I adjusted my review from 5 Star to 2 star because of the scheduling of the classes, the yoga class ends at 11:30 and our class is supposed to begin at 11:30, which not only causes irritation between the two groups but we start nearly 10 minutes late every class ... I spoke to management 3 times to no avail. It would be good for them to look at LA Fitness scheduling which schedules their classes with a 15 minute break between each class, making it an enjoyable and smooth transition. I attend the silver sneakers class ..Melinda is a great instructor
Great gym with lots of equipment and amenities (i.e free towel service, 2 hour parking validation, steam room, sauna and basketball court) all for a relatively low price. Front desk staff is always very welcoming and sets a good vibe for the club as a whole. Highly recommend this location to anyone in the area.
Their sauna smells really bad...The location of the sauna is not very convenient ...it’s too close to the pool, so you can’t get in without stepping on the wet, slippery floor. They say it is very clean, however, the sauna smells like there is a moisture underneath, something very rotten under the wood. Maybe it’s mold or something. It’s definitely unhealthy to use and It should be addressed to the upper management and be seriously fixed. I wouldn’t recommend to use this sauna to people until it’s treated or rebuilt and maybe moved to a dryer area (like sauna in LA fitness).
I have belonged to this gym for 25 years and sadly watched it become the disgusting mess it is now. The place stinks - literally. The smell there is overwhelming. It is not the fault of the workers at the gym, who deal with it the best they can. The fault is that the gym stops at nothing to sell memberships that overcrowd the place far beyond any clean and healthy and enjoyable capacity. I do not know the solution. But the management plainly doesnt either. The gym is virtually worthless at this location, for me. But while I know many who feel the same way, there are apparently more than enough who disagree, because the place remains absurdly overcrowded, however ugly and disgusting it has become. I only go to this 24 Hour location late night weekends when it is not absurdly overcrowded and the stench a little less overwhelming. The small 2nd Street location is far nicer.
The amount of weights and the amount of 2.5lb increment dumbbells is about the ONLY nice thing at this gym. 24 in general cut all towels, and therefore cleaning. NO-ONE cleans. The restrooms are disgusting and the showers are never clean. The air vents are covered in dust and the shower heads are moldy. They raised prices and decreased service. If it wasn’t the only gym my company got discounted rates with i would go anywhere else.
Im a 24 Hour Fitness member, and this place is sooo much nicer than my home gym. It also is usually good for interesting people watching. Still hoping for a repeat of the person giving themselves a high energy aerobics class in the mirror... at like 6 am in the morning. So wrong!
Love this gym for the updated facilities and free towel service. If you go before 6pm they provide two hours free parking after 6pm you can park on the street for free. They have a sauna, steam room and pool, but no jacuzzi only downside honestly. One if the best 24 super sport locations in the LA area
I’ve been going to the gym for a couple years now. I’ve never once had any issues with the staff or equipment, the workers are friendly but keep to themselves. The gym has a good amount of amenities, including a large area for cardio, free weights, machines, as well as a an abs/stretching room. The only issue with the gym is how crowded it is, as many times you’ll have to work in with others or wait for equipment to become free.
I guess I’m not surprised with the poor reviews. My family and I just moved here from out of state, and I was in the market for a new gym. Before I found my last gym, I tried a couple different locations before I made my decision. For this place, I downloaded the three day pass to try it out. Well, when I got there to redeem my pass, they said I couldn’t use it because I didn’t have a local ID. “Well, I literally just moved here...” Her response was, “you can pay the $25, otherwise we can’t help you”. Needless to say, I politely thanked her because she helped my decision to join their gym a lot easier, and walked across the street to Equinox!
Doesn’t have a hack squat machine. Always too busy. Hoist machines are awful- wish they had more classic machines. The hoist back extension is too long for a petite female even at its shortest settings. The non hoist leg extension machine digs into your shins and is impossible to use. The staff is nice and that’s about it.
They staff are very welcoming and helpful. The place is well maintained and clean.
Anytime from 4am-9pm IS A TERRIBLE IDEA EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK. - definitely best for people that are willing to work out late, other then that you will be either waiting for a machine OR feel pressure of being rushed by someone waiting next to you. I personally regret getting this membership, but it is the only gym that is open 24 hours in the area.It has everything you need to work out, but it is very dirty. They do not provide sprays or napkins to wipe down machines after work outs, they only provide towels ( which just spreads the germs).
Besides everything thats been said, having to wait 5 to 10 minutes as a member to buy a protein drink after a workout on the way out is ridiculous. Either the one person who can ring you up is not around, theyre having technical issues, or theyre slowly changing shifts. Theres always an excuse. That and they dont really treat you like a human. Just like something they have to put up with, another cash cow on a conveyor belt of non-stop customers.Gym is tiny, crowded, smelly at times, soaps and paper towels arent always stocked, there arent enough water fountains, etc.Recently they cant keep their act together with their towel service. I come in every day at varying times and at least once to twice a week, every week, and there are none available. They say they only have one dryer. Buy another one.The mens looker room floor is usually pretty dirty. The bathing suit spinning dryer was supposedly fixed, but didnt seem to work until some people were slamming it to get it to work. Just fix it properly please.
Just recently started coming here because of work. 2 story gym with treadmills on top and a studio, and weights and machines on the bottom. Im here around 7pm on the weekdays and its always packed. Everyone has the same genius/productive idea: wait out traffic while working out at the gym. In the end in order to get all my workouts in for the day, it prob takes double the amount of time to workout around 7pm than if I went at an off peak hour. The gyms relatively clean and has the standard machines, benches and treadmills. Big plus for the ample parking lot even during after work hours with 2 hours free parking with validation from the gyms front desk for gym members. Rating compared to other same level 24 hour fitness gyms and because of the long wait for weights during peak after work hours.
Nice place. If you dont want to go to a packed gym go after 8. But they have plenty of machines and the place is clean they offer towels for you. Free parking with validation. Awesome place for a work out.
Nice and clean place, I travel a lot and I attended almost all gyms. Loved this place.
Good for the price. I was told it was less crowded than usual when I visited Sunday afternoon, and the place was VERY crowded. Clean, good equipment, lots of free weights, lots of options for variation. But if thats what it looks like when its less crowded than usual I cant go above 3 stars.
Very busy place. 2 hour free parking. Could use more cleaning techniques and scheduling. Need mildew cleaner and scrubbing in most wet areas. Dusty. But overall you can definitely work out with your purpose. Just make sure you share equipment nicely. The staff at front desk are always friendly coming in and going out with smiles.
Been here at different times and it’s always been crowded. I’ve been here as early as 5am and as late as 8pm. Weights are sometimes hard to find and sometimes there aren’t enough weights to add to the barbells. Good place to do cardio since there are many treadmills and cycling machines.
Place is very dirty, with poor ventilation, a factory for catching cold and flue during the season.Poolwater is over chlorinated and dirty too. Had to wash out my sinuses with mild solution of baking soda to clear them next day.But the staff and the people are nice in this sports club.Overall all 24 hour fitness clubs really need to improve their game quality wise. Out of all the 24 hour clubs, I have been in socal 2 nicest were in OC, Irvine and Tustin and one in Simy Valley. Both the Tustin and Valley location have a large outdoor area with weights, and calisthenics bars.It feels so much better to work out outside, you tend to do more and lift heavier, the body gets more oxygen rather then recycled ac air.And the one in Simy Valley uses I think salt water filtration, or less chlorine in their pool. Which is a big issue and a huge plus. Swimming in water filled with chlorine and bromine kinda defeats the purpose of staying healthy do to amount of toxicity that skin absorbs. If you worry about infections use ozone to sanitize the pool, because bacteria like staff is resistant to chlorine as it terms out.Too bad that only private clubs use salt water pools in Beverly Hills, Malibu, and Newport Beach. I guess those peoples lives worth more then those going to 24 hour fitness...
The night shift receptionist was very rude & has no people skills. I had a valid 7-days pass for $60 that I purchased from 2nd st. branch & only used 4 days of it. After driving for 20min at 2am to get there he tells me that I have to come back after 7am because it says my membership expired even though I only used 4 days. I showed him the contract email & proof of payment & he didn’t bother reading it & simply kept rolling his eyes with a bad attitude. He did not once smiled nor greeted me to begin with. Too bad people like him work for brand like 24 Hour Fitness. I was thinking of joining 24HF but I’m nervous I’m going to have to deal with people who don’t respect customers nor the 24 Hour Fitness logo the work for.
24 hour fitness has gone downhill. After 11 years of membership, enough was enough for me. Seemed every location I went offered low service and maintenance for its customers. This location doesn’t get cleaned enough. They don’t offer enough disinfecting wipes. This location gets overcrowded. Expect to wait to use the equipment. Last time I went here there was a homeless person in the lockers. It’s obvious they are homeless with the amount of things they had with them. How can they even allow this?24 hour fitness really needs to step it up. From personal experience, I wish I would have left sooner.
Super Clean! Grounds are very well kept. I found some of the staff to be a little stuck up but they were young. Nathan is great! He helped me work out my billing issues and allowed me access until corporate was able to change my billing date. Lets get some more yoga classes going.
Im able to work out, shower, I think theres even a pool. I actually dont even know... its a fine gym. There are some 24 hour locations that I absolutely hate-this isnt one of them. its a fine, great location and if you are here less than two hours free parking!!!
I recently left LA Fitness after the debacle of a relocation they recently pulled with their Marina Del Rey location and I have to say I was VERY impressed with this newly remodeled facility. Everything is clean and new, theres plenty of room and attractive people! Parking is not an issue and the staff was very helpful in welcoming me to my new gym. I definitely recommend this location and its worth the Sports Plus membership!
Large club with all the amenities you need and 2 hour parking validation. Clean and friendly staff. Great location for a very reasonable price.
Generally overcrowded and have to wait around for space to work out. On top of that, their fee structure is strange to me, having been a previous member of the Y. They charge an annual fee on top of their joining fee. Absolutely not worth it, though now that Ive paid it I feel obligated to continue going here. The Downtown Santa Monica location is marginally better with regard to the crowd situation, but it is much less well equipped.
It definitely gets the job done. My only complaints stem from the fact that it is a Super Sport. That is why I hold it to higher standards. The machines arent always the cleanest and the cardio equipment is very sub par. Theres always a handful that dont work and a handful that are just extremely loud to operate. The locker rooms and bathrooms are okay. Could be a lot better but I have seen worse at a 24. All in all, it gets the job done but should have better management for the simple fact that people are paying more to be at a Super Sport. Also, the peak hours are UNBEARABLE. Seriously, just dont go at those times. Ridiculously overcrowded and for some reason super smelly. I think it might be the ventilation system they have.
Good to be back!!
As a person trying to get back into fitness after a long vacation (3 years or so), all I really wanted was a place to work out and not be bothered. So, I got my membership here, and as a non gym rat, here are my impressions:The equipment - its all fine, and people are right - frequently gear is down. Also, rude people dont rack their stuff, but thats more the clients.Employees - There are some nice ones, but they are the minority. For the most part I avoid talking to the people that work there because they are just...rude. They look like their dogs died that morning.Locker room - I always work out at the end of my day and shower at home, So I cannot speak on the showers, although I did see soap dispensers. I have never had an issue in the locker room and it seems pretty clean, and the dude ( looking like he hates his job; I cant truthfully blame him) takes the towels out regularly.I guess one thing I should point out is that the overall vibe of the place is very unwelcoming. I just say screw it and go because I have goals and will use anything to talk myself out of working out haha, but truly, the vibe is just so unwelcoming and almost like you are an annoyance. I still go, but it wont be right for all people.Good luck with your goals!
Clean except for one bathroom stall and hair in most of the showers.Small but Warm lap pool.No hot tub.Towel service pervided. A few locations dont.No Internet.Hair dryer provided with decent cord length that has its own dryer holder yet is nicely locked to wall in an esthetically pleasing manner.Bathing suit wringer machine is in very good condition and doesnt require having to push down the lid while pressing a starter button. The staff that was working during my visit needs a major attitude adjustment.I was disappointed to discover that most of the usual members at that location is pretty cold, especially after all the warm, friendly, and hospitable people around town I met to include a couple new friends.
Super clean and huge. Lots of different machines for both cardio, strength, and flexibility. Friendly staff. Lots of resources from supplements to trainers. Just watch out for crowded hours, especially for lifting: youll be able to get your workout in, but maybe not exactly how youd like it.
1/15/18 Issues:-Staff does not regulated the use of lockers with combo locks. Lockers in the mens room and second floor are always in use so there you have to bring a lock for yourself.-Cleanliness. Walls are splattered with liquids and not cleaned off. Stairs to pool from mens room are black with dirt.-Pests. Not sure what the big is, but looked like a small cockroach in the mens room. There are zero bumper plates, contrary to what another reviewer posted.8/12/17 - after coming here 5-6x a week on average since Feb, the sauna is available about 2/3rds of the time. It breaks down routinely and can take weeks to be fixed. The steam room is more reliable. I dont think its been out of service at all. 1/15/18 UPDATE: sauna has been kept working well for the last 6 months.Original post:Very busy, even early in the morning. The weight equipment is kept in working order, but a lot of it is showing age.
Good place towels. 8:06 pm 8/10/19. Cashier lady extraordinary service and dedicated hard work for fitness
Finally open after 3.5 months. Just glad to be back despite all the restrictions, etc.
Listen, I know a lot of people are complaining that its busy here, but of course it is! Its a gym in Santa Monica, where the only other options are specialty gyms (e.g. spin/pilates studios, crossfit gyms, or some crazy thing with a float tank and cryotherapy--no joke) or super-expensive name brand gyms. The workers and residents of SaMo dont have many options for an inexpensive, all-inclusive gym like this one (i.e. pool, sauna, steam room, basketball court, plenty of racks, no cryotherapy [sorry]). This particular 24 also boasts Les Mills The Trip, an immersive indoor cycling experience that is just hands down the most fun Ive had cardio-ing in my life.Additionally, the trainers are EXCELLENT. Read their credentials. These are top notch sisters and misters. Even if you dont think you need a trainer, give it a shot. Athletes have trainers. Bodybuilders have trainers. Trainers have trainers. So you dont think you need one? Trainers can push you to new levels, and sometimes all you need for some truly excellent gains or losses (depending on your goals) is someone to break you out of your routine. This isnt a fly-by-night, get-a-cert-online crew. I once overheard them have a full conversation on the pros and cons of a bicep machine, full of high-level jargon and understanding of how the body functions. They had a debate about bicep growth. These are serious, learned trainers ready to put you through serious work.I have been going to the gym since Im 12 and have had many, many, many trainers. Nobody has ever inspired me to push past whatever brain fog I had about legs and shoulders after some injuries the way JUSTEN has. The guy is talented, positive, and he really likes to educate his clients, which is so rare! I learned more with JUSTEN about how to continue to exercise around and assisting my injured joints than I ever have reading a million articles, going to a famous sports medicine institute, etc. He took the strong medical treatment I received (from a godsend of a local chiropractor, I might add--go see my other review), and helped me advance my routine in a way that wont trigger the same injuries. (THANK YOU, JUSTEN!)Now back to address the complaints, if you want a gym that isnt crowded, youre in the wrong city, my friend. The west LA rule is sharing is caring, and sharing machines has allowed me to meet some excellent allies [for my health] as Justen calls them.It may be crowded, but I look and feel awesome for a 40-year-old because of 24 hr at 31st and Ocean Park (and if I could put this burrito and slice of pizza down, I would look awesome-er). Come lift with some of your allies! I will totally share my bench with you.
Cleaner than most other 24 hour fitness. For some reason this one is all around better if you want a strength training work out. I suggest doing it early as possible can get crowded. Too many persons if you can wait then? All if it suits your needs.
For the record, this is a SUPER SPORT location. There is nothing to tell you this in the signage or anything, so don’t waste your time with the parking and all if you have an Active membership. Wish you could just pay a $5 “upgrade” fee or something to workout for the day, but nah. The 3 stars is for misleading advertising. Put a damn sign up or name it differently online.
The pros: they have bumper plates and a section with 4 lifting platforms (rubber mats, not wooden platforms, but still). They also have towels and a decent facility for showers. And membership is pretty cheap. (Hint: if you have a Costco membership, you can get a great deal on a 2-year membership from there.)The cons: its a run-of-the-mill gym that can get very busy and is overloaded with machines.Edit: they just added WiFi which is a plus.
I come in around 5am every morning. Its always crowded, I almost never get the workout I want to do done due to the constantly high volume of people. The locker room is pretty gross; Ive found blood on the sink counter, dried loogies in the sink itself, about 2 of the 4 sinks smells like something rotting, which is terrible at 6 in the morning when trying to brush my teeth. The showers usually look decent, but on any given day you could find trash in the shower room, and depending on the shower you choose you may get strong wafts of that same rotten egg smell from the sink. The machines arent half bad, and if you get there early enough you may even get to use them. All in all Id avoid this location if possible.
This place gets super overcrowded by people who spend hours there and are already at peak physical shape. It’s intimidating and uncomfortable. There are never machines available. While the place is large and two stories, it feels like you’re being pushed out. It’s a fine gym but it never slows down enough for you to explore your fitness journey. It’d be great if they had a larger stretch area, too. The current one is very small and hidden away. It should be larger and have free weights, medicine balls, bands, bosu balls, etc. An area that’s more about stretching, free weights, and mat work. Right now it’s mat allows for a tiny person to confine his or her mat work between two feet of space. Also, the classes are just okay. I have yet to try them all but, that’s mostly because I work 9-6 and the classes I can attend are slim.I was doing their Monday, Wednesday, Friday night yoga class with Raghavan and, while he’s great, the flow NEVER changed. After three weeks I gave up on my yoga journey. It felt like he was trying to get everything in within the hour but never changed the sequence. No pose was held for longer than 2-3 seconds.
Dirty? Its a gym! My only thing to say about that is members leave there towels anywhere and everywhere. Instead of using them and then putiing them in the laundry bin when they are finished. Staff is friendly and personable... equip all in great working condition and kept up. Place is huge and even when its busy there is plenty of equip to work on. Awesome place.
Great gym, friendly staff. Can get a very busy at times!
This *used* to be a decent gym with a fairly acceptable combination of layout, equipment, people, and price. The recently-concluded renovation has made it more impersonal than most gyms. Its dimly lit now, the make-believe artwork in the weight room is laughable, and the group exercise rooms are incredibly crowded. The pools not clean, and some equipment is starting to wear down already. But the worst part about it is that we are charged way more money for exactly what we used to get for less, before. Yes. Before the renovation, this club had 95% of what it still has. After the renovation, we are paying twice as much since the tier was changed to Super Sport.Thats a 100% price increase for 5% added value. I have found this to be not worth it at all, since its clearly a gimmick to justify a price increase. To summarize, Ive been using this 24 Hour Fitnees for several years, and am happy to take my business and my workouts to an L.A. Fitness within a couple miles which is just as good, cleaner, and more wallet friendly (would you believe it).
Great gym. This is super sport so u need that level. I read reviews no one had said and hadnt upgraded but they let members try it once free so it worked ok. Big gym and has several weight rooms. Pool down stairs.
Great gym, I think it’s one of the better 24 hr fitness centers, the staff is great and everything inside is kept up and clean.
This gym is absolutely trash, I would give it a half star if I could. Ive been a member at this location since 2009 and Ive been disappointed ever since. I am only a member because of convenience and I highly recommend that you do not join this gym.
Con: The gym is dated, dirty, and is in need of a major upgrade ASAP. The vents are filthy, some machines are not operational and need major attention, and bathroom facilities are just bad.Pro: The free weights room and classes are good overall so that brings the score higher. As a side note, parking is not the best either so good luck with that. They should either reduce the rate for this location or give it the upgrades and touchups it desperately needs already. Plenty of people attend this location and it always shocks me little attention this location received from corporate.
Honestly, some of their machines need to be updated. Mainly all the machines with the cables. In this time and age, most people like myself carry aftermarket workout equipment and cant utilize them because your hooks are out dated. Aside from that lighting needs to be fixed, the place kinda sucks the life outta you. But for me this is only a spot for emergency workouts due to work. Hopefully we will see better especially from a super sport. Id expected this at the regular 24hr but not the super sport, not to mention its also in Santa Monica like come on.
I Used To Love Going There Tuesday & Thursday Nights But The Overnight Guy “Aaron” Is Creepy, I Caught Him Staring At Me Often Then, I Start Going Friday’s & Saturday’s But It’s Always Crowded So I Ended Up Canceling My Membership With Them. Now I’m With LA Fitness
What a nice find. Great pool, very friendly people, good equipment, provide towels, lots of locker space (bring your own lock).... damn nice.
I am a sport member and thought I would try out the Super Sport club.... the facility is nicely laid out, the equipment is very high end, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The club provides towels, which is good and bad; good that everyone has access to towels, bad because left behind towels are hanging around the entire club. The weight room was in disarray, dumbbells not returned to the appropriate places on the racks, this is people just being lazy.... in the gym, none the less. I like to use the Sauna after a workout and have become accustomed to the operating temperature of 170 degrees, the setting at my local gym in Lake Forest. This Sauna was set at 120, which is warm but not what I prefer. Personal preference, I suppose. The locker facilities are beautiful, showers were enclosed and working nicely. Much better than my local club.
I really dont have too many complaints about the equipment besides its over crowded and no one ever puts anything back where its supposed to go.... But the mens locker room is absolutely disgusting... Ive been dealing with it for a while now because I got a good deal on the membership but its getting to the point where its not worth it. It doesnt take much for a place to take some pride in what they do and keep the place clean. They obviously dont get that..
Black dude that works the graveyard shift is extremely rude. Needs to be fired immediately has no customer service skills whatsoever. He literally only wants to be talking to his friends and if you dare to ask him for anything he will just give you a horrible attitude and look at you ugly. No wonder he works when it’s slow cuz he clearly doesn’t want to do anything at all not even answer a simple question. He is clearly just there to get a paycheck for doing nothing. This gym needs immediate corporate supervision and a desperate training for workers cuz most don’t have any customers service skill. What are they for? Cuz definitely they are not there to help people. They should just have a security person cuz sure as hell associates aren’t doing anything at least a security guy would be doing something. URGENT CHANGES ARE NEED IT AT THIS LOCATION.
By far, the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. My guest was asked whether or not he was going to join and if not, the salesman said what are you doing here then, have a nice day without a tour or anything to base his decision on. He was also asked to pay for the day, first $25, then $15, and then $10, oh wait its $25 again. I cancelled my membership immediately and decided to join Golds gym. By the way this is the same gym that has people cutting their hair in the locker room and management cant seem to get that under control.
Unhygienic, unhelpful, incredibly crowded, and clearly uncaring staff. I’m going to go pay over 2x as much to have something approaching a sanitary, bearable fitness experience.
Please beware the unprofessional zumba instructor Lesley. She is super racist and lazy. She pushed one of her class member when she was teaching in the Hollywood club and asked class member to teach for her. That is why she get fired. She is liar and fake person. I would not recommend anyone take her classes. We are super happy with the new instructor in Hollywood club now.
Mans locker room is a mess. Weight floor is a mess, nothing is ever re-racked properly...The gym is pretty big but it gets really busy during rush hour. All these college folks coming in pack of 4, holding one of the two only bench press for 45mins... great!Other than that, fairly standard 24hr fitness. Since its a super sport you do get stained towel service, guess thats a plus.I worked out here since I worked across the street but I preferred Spectrum or even LA fitness much better.
WARNING - You will ultimately regret being part of this gym. Their policies on cancellations are absolutely rediculous. A very clear deliberate grab for money they refused to refund my annual fee only a week after I had to cancel my membership because I was moving away. Its not so much about the money its the fact that literally no one I spoke to was understanding enough to try and work something out. It makes no sense paying an annual fee for the upcoming year if I wont be using the gym during that period because my membership is cancelled. Extremely disappointed and I will make sure all my friends and family dont use a wellness brand that doesnt actually care about people. Ive been a patron of this gym for years and this was the experience I got.
Do not go here. They are always lacking proper maintenance (I often am unable to shower because the soap is never filled on time)It says Super Sport which is sort of a premium location but it is far from premium (since it is located in Santa Monica where people tend to be financially well off, I guess they decided to call it premium without doing anything to deserve the extra chrage). Also, they often bill you more than your membership. I found out I had been charged 10 more than my agreement and people around me have the same experiences). When you have problems with 24 fitness, it is very hard to resolve them since some matters could only be resolved on site. Also, you have to call in or visit the site to cancel the membership which I find to be so backwards in this technologically advanced society
It is usually full when i go in, facility is nicely set up. However, there have been a few times I go, there is an older man who uses disinfectant spray on the machines instead of wiping them with a towel or cloth. Recently, he was next to me and he sprayed it everywhere, it got in my eye. I asked him to stop, he apologized. My eyes were red and irritated for a few days, i also informed the staff. The next week I saw the same man doing the same thing, spraying the disinfenctant directly on the machines. Maybe there should more staff on the second floor to keep an eye for situations like this. The redness and irritation went away after applying eyes drops for a few days, and there is no lasting damage. But this situation could have been avoided.
SUPER SPORT PRICES WITH LESS THAN SUPER SERVICEI was a member of this gym for a little over a year. Supposedly this was a Super Sport gym. It was COMMON for machines to be broken down (while there was a 20+ minute wait for the ones that were working). There were times that 40% of the given elliptical machines had problems with the TV screens or headphone jacks. The locker rooms were also a mess. Piles of dirty towels were strewn all over the place (clearly showing that the locker room had not been tended to all day). Weights were rarely stacked correctly. If you have expectations of a regular gym - totally fine. If you expect something super clean, organized and well kept - find another gym.
This 24 is way too small to be a super sport. But I guess you cant expect more space in Santa Monica. Also this gym is always messy. I spend more time searching around the gym for weights than I do lifting. This is by far the messiest 24 Ive ever been to.
The people at this gym have a tendency to discriminate against overweight people in multiple ways. The staff shouldn’t point and laugh at someone while working out, just because of their appearance. That’s what their at the gym for
The dirtiest gym I have ever seen. Its absolutely disgusting. Felt like I was working out on skid row. The pool are was SO full of black mold which is so unhealthy and the sauna was full of dirty water on floor with everyone wearing their tennis shoes inside. So unsanitary its very upsetting.
I like this gym. Im a new member and so far the staff has been nothing but pleasant. The personal trainer trying to get me to sign up was a little bit too persistent for me, bordering on pushy but other than that brief initial uncomfortable interaction, everything and everybody else has been amazing.
First impression... walked in with my husband who moved here and joined two months ago. He asked if he can bring me to try it out as a guest today. Its $25 for the day or $90 today to sign up. I said I wasnt willing to pay that much. He said nothing so we walked out. How in the world do you get new members without letting them try it?
They don’t answer Bonzo’s phone calls...He’s just a monkey, for Heaven’s sake. He doesn’t deserve this!
I have been a member for several years. My main complaint is that several members use a machine and stay on the machine long after they are finished using it. This happens often. They stay sitting at or on the machine making long phone calls or writing long text messages. This practice is inconsiderate of others who are waiting for a machine.Management does not seem to care that machines are used as seats while some members sit there resting or texting or making phone calls after they are finished their work out.We are all paying a fee to use the gym. Common decency dictates that those who have texting and calling to do, do it while not sitting at and tying up a machine.I think that many members leave their good manners at the door as the members go in the gym.
