Very disappointed. We trusted them with navigating us through the closing process for the sale of our property and instead they did the very basic minimum and ended up double paying our portion of the property taxes. Now we need to wait and deal with the tax collector - it will take a year before we see our money refunded. We found out this when we received our final statement. No one asked us, if we have impound account or if we have send a check for the taxes and since it was the end of November and taxes are due December 1st, they should have asked before making deductions and sending payments. We thought they are coordinating all loan information, including the impound account and payments made from it with the lender, instead I was told they ordered payoff statements through automated system, because it was quicker. The most unprofessional was the attitude I received when I reached out to Katie McGuire in attempt to resolve the issue - she tried to blame it on us that we didnt advise her for the impound account. Well, if I knew what I had to do to close the sale, I would not have been using their services. She passed the ball to the title company they use (absolutely the worst) since they cut the check and that was the end of it. If you are looking for professionals who care and who are really going to navigate you through the process and make sure to do things right, get your business somewhere else.
I have sold real estate for 20 years in Seattle. I was helping my son to buy a house in Los Angeles and was steered to use this escrow company from the listing agent. I have never encountered anyone as rude and incompetent as Resolution Escrow. Funds were sent to the wrong place; there were no escrow instructions explaining where to sign or have a page notarized. This transaction was done long distance and needed some instruction. The escrow officer yelled at me, called me names to my son and almost negated the entire transaction. Truly, beware.
Probably the worst experience in 20 years as a buyer was with this company. From the beginning the escrow officer was too busy to meet the buyer from even taking a moment to shake hands to discuss escrow fees. Even told us that there was no negotiation on fees which is absolutely not true. Belittled the buyer for asking for the discounts which with checking with real estate agents, brokers, buyers and sellers in the past month - including the department of real estate it is totally within the norm to make these requests for reductions. The deal to not go through because the property was over valued for 3 lenders and the fees from escrow etc were just too much for the buyer. This was a huge disappointment for both buyer and seller and imagine then the buyer received the most unprofessional email from the escrow officer. Still being petty and insulting because of requesting a reduction of fees she wrote on the cancellation to the client - i received GREAT NEWS the escrow is cancelled.I have worked with so many great companies and escrow officers in my professional life that to be that disrespected as a consumer, I can honestly say my suggestion to all is a big RUN ELSEWHERE. Your money, your time and your dignity would be better spent ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE
Having worked in the real estate industry in los angeles for 16 years, this is by far the rudest, unprofessional escrow company ive had the displeasure of working with. REO escrows, at the peak of the foreclosure wave dealing with banks and agents provide better customer service. Any question is answered with rude, snide comments with LOLs and all capped responses... who allows a company to operate this way?! Unbelievable!
