Everyone from those working the front desk and office to the Dr. that examined my teeth, were all very nice and helpful and worked out a plan to get my smile back. I felt very at ease and not nervous like I normally do before going for dental work. Im looking forward to my next appointment when the real work starts on my teeth. I drove 60 miles to go here,and Im happy I chose them.

If you want to find a terrible dental then you find the one. I have never gave anybody a terrible review. Here comes the first one.We switched our healthcare plan so we went there. After our first appointment we left in the middle of it and would rather pay out of our pocket to be somewhere else. They don’t know how to do a thorough exam. The doctor merely checked a few of my teeth and pointed the medicine on their wall to tell me I should use that medicine. She didn’t even ask me any details of my previous dental work. Bravo for how honest you are with commissions. As for how they treat the patients, it felt like I owe the doctor quite a lot of money.The waiting hall was packed with people. Definitely not the place to be 6 feet apart from people.Also, give yourself the entire day if you were going for the appointment there. They clearly don’t understand how appointments work. Appointments are not the ones you schedule for 2pm and get inside at 4pm.

Celene was super nice when I got my braces, I really liked the service, Cesy and all the staff made me feel comfortable. Overall, it was a very amazing experience and wonderful place to get braces and to do any dental work !! I will be going there for any dental treatments and you should too.

I have been to many dentist that i have not liked but western dental has to be the WORST one yet ! i went for two root canals and they cut my tongue EACH TIME & when told they cut it they just said “oh your fine”. If I were you i would go find dental service else where.

I hadnt gone to the dentist in more that 5 years because im terrified of needles. Im shocked about all the bad reviews. In reality you have to experience it on your own because they treated me fabulous. Yes there is a waiting time because of covid but there is a waiting time everywhere you go even if its to eat a burger. But regardless they made me feel so comfortable and I didnt feel the needles at all. The payment plan was super affordable and Cesy was very nice and explained everything clearly. Im happy I will finally have a nice smile. Dont get fooled by comments of people that are in pain.

Don’t recommend western dental, service was awful. Got to my appointment on time and had to fill out paperwork for first time patient. Filled out the form within 10 min still waited outside for 50 minutes until I received a call. I went in then was told to wait. I waited for 35 more minutes in there while no one acknowledged me I then got annoyed for waiting there in the chair and told the assistant I wanted to leave. I will never go there again waist of time.

Absolutely terrible service. Basically they take advantage of medi cal patients and abuse the system for profit. They do not care about patients. They milk the government (our tax dollars) at every possible opportunity. Down right shameful.

Excellent customer service of check in and care. However, the long wait time 15 minutes to get to dental chair, 30 minutes in the chair before appointment work began (which happened in last appointment, as well) amid frustrating. I would much more prefer having a later appointment time than to wait for twice the amount of time at the office. Other than the time, excellent care.

Yesterday I went to the dentist at 2:30 everyone that came after me was getting attended except me. one of the lady up front was being a complete idiot towards me and my mother she had told us that we didn’t give her the right card when we HAD and she even knew. SHE STAYED Quiet she had the worst energy TERRIBLE we FINALLY got attended after 1 hour and 40 mins

This office hasproblems with communication and honesty. Access to the credentials are not easily viewed and the substitute dentist clearly did not attend charm school. My vet has treated my pets with more respect. Know your rights and demand respect before you go here--

No x-rays taken before beginning fill in procedure. Doctor wasnt even aware of big cavity and still didnt do an exam of neighboring teeth. After fill in I experienced great sensitivity,pain and fever from pain if I drank something with sugar I was woken from the pain at night. I came in for fill ins on other cavitys and I informed Dentist of what I felt and I was glad they listened they took pictures and x-ray. Come to findd a Huge Hole on the back molar that received fill in!!?? How could this have been missed!!?? No work was performed ón my cavities I was suppose to have my fill ins from last procedure polished since last time there was no time and that didnt get done. I was sent home and to wait for an appointment for scheduling to have completely damaged molar pulled out!!??I took a picture so they cant deny the inexcusable failure of work performed

They lied and said I had a gum disease that supposedly makes you bone and teeth brittle. I needed an emergency tooth pulled and they told me they didnt have any time that day. They told me my medical coverage didnt cover my partials im going to need. I got a 2nd opinion today from Cali Dental and they pulley the tooth I needed pulled the same day, told me my insurance did cover the partials so I dont have to pay out of pocket and they cleaned my teeth all on the same appointment. I will never go back to western dental. They are liars.

My appointment was at 3.30 showed up on time I didnt get seen until 6.30 the dr was so ruff when he was pulling my wisdom tooth he didnt even wait for the numbing medicine to kick it I felt him pulling on my wisdom tooth I will never ever go.back this place should be shut down for good no human being should ever be treated how I was treated I am in more pain now than I was when I went in yesterday the dr didnt care that he caused me more pain he gave me a prescription for regular tylenol I am so upset this place is a joke

I give this dental office a 5 stars for one very big reason only! The administration is excellent. They were very helpful and assisted me through every step of the way. They really went over my all my options and went above and beyond to make sure they got all the necessary dental work done while maximizing my dollar. They really gave me a detailed plan on the necessary dental work over a planned timeline. All of this while being kind and courteous while providing service. This is ridiculous place. I had to drive down from Morro Bay just so they can say, ups we had to cancel your appointment but we forgot to call you. And then few days later after waiting 1.5 hours before I had to reschedule since I had babysitter. And then reschedule again in few days for them to tell me that they dont have any appointments under my name. What is the point of appointment. They scheduled 4-5 other patients all at the same time with only one dentist. Time for update of your scheduling system!?

Please Be Beware! My wife went for a basic procedure: X-rays. She followed all safety directives. For example, answering questionnaire and waiting in the car for notification to enter building. Upon entering facility, she was directed to wait in a narrow hallway with patients walking without masks to other procedure rooms. Then, she signal the receptionist to direct or notify staff that she was present. Finally, receptionist located staff member and/or technician and the technician proceeded to provide mouthwash and directed my wife to go into a Nasty bathroom-Mens bathroom to rinse her mouth (Dryed up Urine at the botton of the camode). Technician was confused about the reason for the visit and proceeded to the front desk to confirm insurance approval. My wife eventually followed her to the front desk and asked if she should reschedule or will someone perform the procedure, per insurance request? In fact, X-rays was completed; however, my wife is Now experencing Chest pains and shortness of breath. These are early signs of Covid-19. I have scheduled a doctors appt. and I will be reporting this incident to the Health Dept. for further evaluation and review.....Be Safe and Always Wear A Mask!!!😷

I went with my wife and the experience was amazing. Never had been to a dentist where they give you so much attention and make u feel so comfortable. Well Cesy definitely took care of that. My husband went there in March to have a tooth pulled. My husband told me the dentist was very unprofessional came in gave him novacaine didnt wait for it to take effect went ahead and pulled his tooth.

Had to try several times for correct reading. I suggested the thin flexible ones that are easily used. By Far the best place for braces!!! Ashley took complete care of us!! The down payment and monthly fees were half of what 2 other places told me. Plus they got my daughter in and braces on the same day I called!! I will definitely be taking my whole family back to Ashley.

Would never recommend. Front office staff was often rude and did not greet me while I stood at the counter. Usually had to wait a long time in the crowded waiting room. Always felt like the place was dirty. Grandkids got their braces there. Dentists never talked to us about their progress. Yuck.

I visited this place today for the first time on February 5 2020 to attending appointment for my Son at 3:30pm and I fiIl out allot of paper work I turn in all the paper work to the front desk. I give them one star because this place is really worst ever! The staff was so rude especially the front desk to my clients who is 95 yrs old. She forget her Ca. IDs only they didnt take her in, they ask to reschedule with IDs.i even told them just take her in and I will bring back her Ca. IDS or fax it. But the front desk said nope! No IDs no service!

I took my daughters to be evaluated for braces. Ashley met with us and was very helpful in being informative, and was kind throughout the entire experience. My daughters had a very good time.

I have truly never been to a more incompetent medical location. There is LITERALLY ZERO reason to recommend this Western Dental and in fact Im reporting it to the authorities.They lie to their patients to get them to do unneeded treatment. Once you get to the back it takes hours to be seen, the whole time you hear how bad the staff is. Cussing, gossip, flirting, Im sorry I thought I was at a dentist?Im contacting my insurance company and filing as many legal complaints as possible.UPDATE: Minimal to moderate damage may have been done to my gum as a result of excessive force used. The wound was never cleaned or cleared.Note: About half the positive reviews are fake. Its not hard to tell which ones either.Update 5 Months Later: Wounds from my extraction have still not healed. Will be gathering evidence from my new dentist and beginning a malpractice suit for improper care and patient neglect as well as unsanitary conditions.

This place is great, and I hate going to the dentist. Dr. Sierra was incredibly compassionate and has superb bedside manner. I always get in on time, and everyone is professional. One of the real jewels there is Cynthia, the Office Manager. She takes the time to explain the charges and all the various options. Loved my experience!! Dr.Chan and Cesy made my dental experience the best! i was terrified of dentist and everything that involved that but she calm me down telling me about her experiences. It all went well she told me Dr Chan was great and she was absolutely correct they make a fantastic team. Not only that but i saw how well they communicate on dental terms which made me feel in good hands. i would definitely refer a friend.

I hate this place so much! The ladies at the front desk are extremely rude and catty. They do not care about the patient and neither do the doctors. Im currently paying for braces at this place (which I wish I never agreed to do) and have had some pretty bad experiences. First, the woman who was tightening my wires one time did not even put bands on about five teeth, leaving the top wire exposed and poking out. When I went back that day to get it fixed, she gave me the nastiest look ever even though I just told her the situation politely. Second, when I got my spacers put in, the woman who did those put them WAY too low to the point that they were stabbing at my gums and making my mouth bleed. Your mouth should not bleed nor be in such pain when getting spacers. Third, I am currently writing this with a broken bracket that is chipping away at my tooth, and wires that are broken in three places. Besides all that I always have to wait an incredibly long amount of time to even be seen even if there is close to nobody else in there. Thanks a lot for caring, Western Dental! (Not)!

Im disappointed. Pregnant receptionist very rude. Thought she was having a bad day the 1st appointment so I let it slide so I didnt get her name. 2nd appointment rude again. Very unprofessional lady named Ashley she treated me like if I was a piece of trash. At least thats how she made me feel even when I asked to Barrow the restroom she was very rude. She left me waiting in lobby for more than an hour just to tell me she couldnt see me because my insurance card was invalid. More than 1 hour. Then she was laughing with the other receptionist because i didnt understand the difference between cencal and identical. Never coming here again. Manager please assist.

This is the worst dentistry you could ever go to. They called me three times to come get my teeth cleaned and three times I told them the orthodontist hadn’t taken my wire out yet for them to be able to clean my teeth. After waiting 3 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES, I never had my cleaning. When I finally saw doctor and she said my teeth were fine, then walked out saying she’d be right back. 15 minutes later her and a consultant come in claiming I need a 400 dollar advanced cleaning and needed to sign the paper work. After I questioned her for claiming that she had already explained the process that was about to go underway, she said I must have not been paying attention to her when she was speaking. She treated me like a total child who was wasting her time and refused to give me a simple cleaning after I told her wasn’t going to do the advanced cleaning. They still charged my insurance, for the appointment and equipment use for the 3 minute conversation I had with the doctor. The only reason I go here is because my insurance only covered my ortho in this location, I’ve had my braces on for 4+ years now because they still haven’t fixed my teeth, my insurance has recently refused to continue to cover my braces since I’ve gone beyond the limit of what they can offer me, now I’m just waiting out these last few months of my treatment so I can be free of this place. Save your insurance some money, and disregard these “5 Star” ratings that are full bull, I’ve been here for 4+ years, this isn’t the first time I’ve had problems. I can go on and on. I can assure you 8/10 your blood pressure goes through the roof dealing with them, very unprofessional environment.

At first appointment I had to wait 3 1/2 hours after my appointment time. They told me I have a cavity. I didnt believe them and had two other dentists check it out and no cavity.

The office staff and dentists made, what is for ME an anxious situation, comfortable and easy. Starting with Cesy making the initial paperwork easy to deal with, Veronica efficiently taking x-rays, Dr Fierro taking patient history and calming my nerves, gently probing for problems, and having found several, patiently explaining my options while dealing with a short staff and other patients ON A SATURDAY, to Ashley, Cynthia and Office Manager Melissa taking an hour out of their day to TRY to find available appointments with a specialist through the insurance company, the entire experience went far better than i could have imagined. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs.

This place doesnt even deserve one star. Im going to keep this short because I dont want to give anymore of my time into this place.I waited 4 hours(and trust me Im not exaggerating) just for a dentist to touch my teeth and ask me if anything hurts.He didnt introduce himself & he also didnt say he was leaving.I wasnt aware the appointment was over until a woman walked in ready to give me my bill.Today was awful, the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist office.There was no reason I should have waited that long & its disappointing that they couldnt do anything for me except throw excuses at me.My time spent here was horrible from the moment I got there to the moment I left. To every person I complained to they put blame on someone else.Western dental is the worst and I recommend that you spend your time somewhere else. The waiting and the whole experience here makes me never want to visit the dentist again.

If I could put negative stars I would this is probably the worst office I’ve ever been to in my life. My first impression from the staff was rude and only got worse from there. After waiting an hr and a half I was told they still had no idea when I would be seen and that there were several people ahead of me!

Seriously?Appointment was at 3 pm and I was not called until almost 4:30. Western dental or WORST DENTAL. This place doesn’t even deserve 0 stars. Honestly this is the worst dental office ever to be known to human beings. Had an appointment at 4 o’clock and showed up on time, had to fill paperwork and I finished it in 5 minutes. I was hoping to get in right after I finished the paperwork but got to go in after 2 hrs of my appointment which is 6 o’clock. I drove all the way from Grover beach to Santa Maria for nothing. I need a root canal and they told me they couldn’t do it there so why have false advertisement ? I went inside to the exam room and the doctor didn’t show up after 45 minutes and she was a nurse practitioner not even a doctor... I am absolutely disgusted and I was in so much pain and they didn’t even do nothing about it ! Dirty and filthy exam room and the nurse was so rough taking my xrays. Save your time and money and do not go in there !

Horrible experience at their offices and facilities. They make you wait much longer than other dental offices I’ve been to. They won’t work with you at all or even care about any of your thoughts or needs. They operate pretty much like “bad robots”... in short, they are the worst dental office I’ve been to in 30 years. (Also you find out later they are more expensive than you are initially lead to believe too.)

I went to Western Dental because I had an abscessed tooth. They were planning to do a simple procedure of pulling the tooth. I could not go to my regular dentist because my dentist passed away and they were closed for cervices. They took x-rays and then scheduled me out one Month because their specialist is only in once a Month. As I was checking back on my doctors release the receptionist stated she could not find my appointment. After finally contacting the Manager his excuse was he had someone new under training. Then 2 days before I was due for the procedure the Manager calls me and states they scheduled me with the wrong Dentist and he does not take my insurance. While this was going on they 1st gave me an antibiotic for my infection. I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I tried to get another antibiotic I have taken in the past to replace the one I fell allergic to and they stated they reviewed the x-rays and I never had an infection. Since the whole side of my neck and face was swollen like a baseball I went to my doctor for cancer. My doctor stated I did not have cancer but I had an infection extending into my lymph nodes but the dentists should be able to tell me if it is in my tooth or jaw. My regular doctor gave me some antibiotics for 4 days. When I finally was seen by the dentist he stated I had an infection in my abscessed tooth, jaw, and lymph nodes. He stated he was not licensed to work on me because I had an infection..... So final conclusion is the reception area is clueless, after 3 Months I never had my tooth worked on and by not treating my infection put my life in danger. If you want to live DO NOT SEE THESE PEOPLE. I only put 1 star because the website would not let me post with zero.

Worst place ever not only was I there for 5 hours when they came to fix my chip tooth witch I paid cash for. The shape of the tooth was oval and he passed me the mirror and I was like can you make it straight like how teeth are supposed to look he tells me well why didn’t you say you wanted it straight . I was so mad never again going back there

My daughter is a patient at western dental in Santa Maria, The staff is warm and friendly & Ashley in the Ortho office always goes out of her way to accommodate my daughter during her visits, she’s very sweet!The orthodontist Dr. Malan is very knowledgeable and helpful, he is a awesome!I would highly recommend them 😊

My experience at this location cation recently was great! The staff was friendly (which goes a long way for me) the dentists are knowledgeable and speedy. Will definitely be coming back!

Horrible. The receptionist Ashley is very rude. No respect or courtesy no manners what so ever. Makes patients feel stupid when u dont understand what shes asking. Dont waste your time coming here.

Had a root canal done by Dr. Vera & His assistant vero great team!! I was very scared and nervous due to a really bad expirence at another dental office. Vero assured me it was gonna be okay she was really sweet and made me feel a little better Dr. Vera was really great very gentle and caring he explained to me everything and answered all my questions. He told me it would be okay and not be scared. He made me feel really comfortable and did a great job i felt no pain and i am really happy with the great job he did. Also to big thank you to Natalie who was the patient care coordinator she did a good job explaining everything made it clear and answered all my questions very friendly always had a smile. Than you western dental and staff for all your work for being a great team and making me feel very comfortable and taking away all my worries. I am very thankful for such a postive amazong expirence!!

Went in on a Saturday thinking it was just going to be exam and xrays but I was able to get treatment done which is great because Im only off Saturdays. Thank you Cesy and Dr.Fierros and her assistant. Made me feel so comfortable and relaxed during treatment.

I went here once in 2008 because I had one month of insurance coverage for dental. I had a bad tooth and told the dentist there was something wrong with it. They x-rayed and she came back and told me my tooth was fine and it was due to sensitivity and I need a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. I said are you sure; it really feels like there is something wrong with this tooth. She assured me there was nothing wrong with my tooth. Within a month, half of that tooth broke off when I was eating nuts. I no longer had insurance and they would not take me in for free...they wanted ME to pay for their mistake!!! So disgusted with these people. Rude office, rude doctors. Been living with a half of tooth ever since! Cant afford any more misdiagnosis or substandard care. How do you get away with this?

The Doctors and assistants there are terrible. They get rid of the hard working assistants. The Doctors do not care about the patients. We wait hours to get in to be seen. Front office girls are so rude. Just sit around talking gossiping while we sit in pain. Managers and Doctors seem to be the same. Who is in Charge of this place?

BEWARE!!! Keep all your receives. Even I paid my total balance the day of the visit they called me TWO years later asking me to pay my balance!!! A few days later I received an invoice!! Come on!Luckily I found my receive I hope I can fix this problem this week

I was really impressed. I have heard mixed reviews about this place and they made me feel very comfortable. I have decided to go thru with my procedure and im confident it will be very successful.

Everyone at Western Dental was very nice and informative. The only problem was they had only 1 Dr. on duty. They ran about 30 minutes behind on my appointment time.

Doctor was great. The girls up front and assistants rude. No smile just rude. Sad. And I needed my teeth fixed. Thats the only reason I stayed. The girls up front need to find a job that they like . All 3 should be let go. Waited 2 hours just to be seen. And then they said I was lucky to be squeezed in . Late lunch? 9:45. I should have been in. And Im a paying customer come on. Not medical.
