An overwhelming positive experience. I m from Santa Barbara recently moved to Buellton to be closer to my family. I expected an extraction, much to my surprise and delight the extraction was not necessary. Dr. Gomez was very thorough and professional with the TLC that I have never experienced. Much of my dental care has been with the V A in Los Angeles and some care in Santa Barbara. In the future I will return to your facility which has a polished ambiance and a friendly staff.

Honestly this is the best dentist Ive probably ever been to! The dentists are extremely professional, as is the hygienist who deep cleaned my teeth. She was so thoughtful for each session of if I felt any pain (which I didnt) & they are so thorough. Highly recommend going here!

Out of all the years of going to dentist offices to get work done, Santa Barbara Family dentistry is by far the best dentist I’ve ever been to!I previously went to another dentist called CaliDental here in Santa Maria and they tried to make me wait 3 weeks to get work done while knowing I was in extreme pain.Santa Barbara Family Dentistry took me in, made me feel comfortable, gave me detailed information on what I needed, and got me in the chair to get it done.The best thing is that I’m home now and have no pain at all!!!I will forever be a patient here! I recommend everyone to come here. 💯They also have amazing payment options, extremely affordable.

DON’T GO HERE!!! They told me I had 8 cavities. When I went to another dentist to get a second opinion he told me I had only 1 minor cavity that didn’t even need work. I was told that The employees here are given a seminar in how to upsell patients to get more money out of you. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

My family goes to this practice and it seems the services are satisfactory.My biggest grip has been with the billing and insurance that I have to address every time. The invoices are not itemized, so you dont know what youre paying for when you receive a bill. Additionally, I have been billed when my insurance covers the regularly scheduled cleanings (part of preventive care).Crossing my fingers this gets resolved.

I love how they explain the process on how what is going to be done for the treatment and they are soo gently and they always ask you if your ok and if your feeling any pain to let them know love how they ask and make sure .

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had a problem. They’re good with dental hygiene and they really care about you and your teeth. They make good recommendations if you are having any problems with your teeth whether that be wisdom teeth, root canals etc. I highly recommend Santa Barbara Family Dentistry because they take real good care of you.

My son was evaluated for an emergency and although all they did was refer him to a pediatric my son got an appointment the next day. The front desk made calls for me until I got a closer appointment because a lot of them had October and November appointments. I left very happy and my son didnt scream not once and it was his very first visit.

Highly recommend Santa Barbara family dentistry!!! I’ve been going to this dentist for awhile and have always been treated amazing and have the nicest staff, with the latest equipment. Recently I had a dental emergency which is tough during these times as most dentists are closed or only open for dental emergencies. They fit me in right away but with very safe precautions to keep everyone safe. They sterilize everything between patients and many times during the procedures. I feel like they more than deserve 5 stars with all they are doing to keep people safe and follow the guidelines

I recently had work at Santa Barbara family dentistry. Dr. Mujica was great! I was a little nervous about getting work done but she walked me through the whole process and put me at ease. I could not have asked for a more attentive, professional, and genuinely nice dentist.

When did you receive that kind of love from a dentists office?I have been treated very fairly with finances. I researched the cost and time in the chair for my dental implant. I have had nothing but good experiences coming to Santa Barbara Family Dentistry my whole family is a patient of their office and they treat them very well also we are all very happy with their service and highly recommend them.

The wait wasnt long. Everyone seemed really happy to be working there, you could tell be the occasional chatter between employees. The m staff and doctors were very polite. Speaking of the doctors, the one I had cleaning my teeth was very thorough and provided me with important feedback about the state of my oral health.All around, it was a great experience.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor was really thorough on telling me what was going on with my teeth. I usually have a bad experience when I go to the dentist and get anxious but they seem to really care and were very attentive which made me feel better about seeing a dentist again.

I feel very comfortable here and the dentists have helped get my teeth healthier. They helped me understand what procedures I needed and why. All the staff members I have encountered are very friendly and caring.

I came to Santa Maria to visit family from AZ when my crown fell out. I called SBFD on Tuesday night and they were able to get me in the following day.Come to find out my crown fell out along with some of my tooth Dr. Hobie and his fantastic team were able to rebuild my tooth and put a new crown on the same day saving Thanksgiving. I would highly recommend them and I believe I will be traveling here for any future dental work that may be needed.

Good dentistry

I wish I could give this place one star!I had to worst experience yesterday. My appointment was at 12:30pm, but I was not seen until 1:35pm. The assistant was very nice and took a LOT of x-rays. Then the dentist (finally) came in and was looking at the screen of my x-rays behind my back with the assistant. All I heard was: buildup and crown, buildup and crown and other lingo that I did not recognize.Then the dentist asked me to open my mouth and I stopped and asked him if he was Dr. Thurston and he said yes. He didnt even introduce himself! I told him my name and he said NOTHING! I told him that it sounded like I needed a lot of crowns, so I was waiting for him to explain. He has the personality of a rock-none! Dr. Thurston told me that I had to have a consultation with another dentist. I asked him if he does not do the consultations, but he said he did, just not on his own patients. So I said, Now I have to meet with a salesman? and he said yes. No expression! But guess what? I had to come back!!! I asked theassistant what he meant about the crowns and she said that the dentist said I need 7 crowns and one root canal and 9 fillings! Wow! I dont even have any pain! I knew about the one root canal because I saw another dentist in December.My insurance had changed so I had to find another dentist. I also wanted another opinion about the root canal. I feel like I was being scammed!!! I am going to report the office to the BBB, the American Dental Society and my insurance.

I went there after having taken my braces off. I was told I had cavities to no surprise but the doctor explained very thoroughly what was going on. I have never gone to another dentist that actually explained things as well as they did at this office. It made the experience more comfortable knowing that the work is guaranteed. If something went wrong after getting my cavities taken care of I could simply go back and make it right. No questions asked. What you get here is quality and the staff are incredibly nice honestly. I also went back to get help with a very painful tooth at one point and one of the doctors relieved the pain easily and explained what was going on. No hassle. Just good work and atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

SBFD is amazing!!! I had a real bad pain on my right tooth and knew I needed to get a root canal. I called and they took me in same day within 3 hours. The next day they still had me go again just to see If I was fine. Staff always friendly. Truly recommend them. Keep up the great work guys!!!

The dentist there, Dr. Gonzalez is a LIAR AND SCAMMER! If I could give them 0 stars, I would...My first time coming here and he told me that I had about 8 fillings that all needed to be re done ASAP because they had cracks in them. Also he told me that I needed two CROWNS done right away. I told him that I had no pain and if I could hold off for about 4 months, and he said no. He then told me that for everything that I needed to get done would cost me around $2,500 and that I could see if I qualify for a credit card that will allow me to get the work done and make payments. I was curious to see if I would qualify and I did. He then tried to rush me into the decision right then and there and schedule me that day to start on my teeth. I felt something was off about this guy, so I canceled my appointment and went to Washington Dental, a place that all my family members have gone to in Tijuana. I was skeptical at first but all them loved their experience and said the place had better equipment than some places in the U.S. Anyway they told me that I had ZERO CRACKS in my fillings, and NONE OF THEM NEEDED WORK. Then he told me that my tooth doesnt need a crown if there is no pain, which there wasnt. He told me eventually I would need one but that can be a few years. They gave me x-rays for free and a cleaning for $40. Dont let this SNAKE FOOL YOU. Get a second opinion before you get signed up for a $2,500 job!!!

The entire staff, from receptionists, to hygienists, to the doctors are very personable and kind. We never felt isolated or uninformed.Ill be going through an extensive process to fix decades of damage, and Dr. Gonzales walked me through step-by-step and reassured me that the plan set in place was the best. I was given options to cover the financial aspect and Im excited to fix my problems and get my confidence and my smile back!

My nephew, who lives on the East Coast, was here visiting us over the holidays. He had just spent the past several months traveling and missed his last dental appointment. I called the office just to see if they might be able to get him in for a teeth cleaning and was pleasantly surprised and pleased when they said they would see him that same afternoon. They did a very thorough examination as well as several x-rays and were also able to clean his teeth. He said the staff was nice and efficient. Both of us would highly recommend this office to anyone needing dental care.

The service is great don’t get me wrong, but the experience is bad. I always go to my dentist every 6 months like asked. Well when I went there I was told I had five cavities! I was like okay before you treat me do you accept my insurance? They were more interested in getting me in than answering my questions! “We’ll discuss this at the end of the treatment.”Okay. I went back for my fillings. And the lady said I had 6 cavities and then the doctor said I had 4. But when I asked so how many do I have again? The doctor checked the file and was like “oh five in total.” I got so many different answers in how many “cavities” I had. That made me feel like they just told me that to get money out of me and yes it was true! Then I’m not sure what happened, but I got checks in the mail by my Dental insurance because they didn’t want or couldn’t take my insurance. The breakdown was funky and scetchy they were so interested and quick to get those checks! I will no longer be going back their after I called my insurance company and they said they charge more than any regular dentist! I still paid a good chunk of money after my insurance covered their fees. Save your money! They might say you need all these things, but I would get a second opinion.

This dental office is really great at getting you in and taking care of your problem right away. The doctors and staff are caring and knowledgeable. I have been going here for about 9 years. They have worked with my schedule and my financial situations when needed. I have sent several friends in who were in pain and they got help when no one else was able to see them. It is also great because many places have to refer you somewhere else for specialty work but they often can take care of these things themselves. Give them a try. You’ll be glad you did.

Great dentistry friendly staff and very helpful

My father had went to look at his tooth aches, but after hearing what my father explained how much this place was charging my father was ridiculous. Dr. Gonzales wanted to charged my father nearly 5k for some cavities, but then we went somewhere else and completely different dentist (Not at family dentistry) found nothing, not even one cavity. I ask to be very careful with this place!
