The best rafting experience I could’ve imagine. I felt so safe, the views were amazing, but the guides made it the experience what it was. The experience was so intimate. Other raft companies had 10+ rafts, while we had 2. The river was open to us and not a whole group. Thank you to our guides, Maggie and Austin for the fun, education, and all around amazing trip !! Austin had the best jokes all around Santa Fe. Maggie drove us through a monsoon with the grace of an angel. We will never forget our experience.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in Santa Fe, they will drive you out to the location on the Rio Grande and back. These guys took care of everything for us. They provided water shoes, raincoats, and even made lunch for us. I was pleasantly surprised by the meal the prepared for us; sandwiches with many toppings to choose from, chips and fresh fruit. The guides were well experienced and knew a lot of interesting facts about to terrain. All around great experience, would totally go again.

What a fantastic experience with our guide Austin on our all-day adventure! Austin is a wealth of knowledge for the drive out to put-in (or puddin) and the morning is full of the less intense but relaxing and pleasurable “float” section of the Rio Grande. Austin then made an expertly prepared delicious lunch along the river bank, and the next half of the day thru the racecourse section was challenging and fun! All 5 of us had an incredible time and we’re happy with the new friend we made in Austin. Highly recommend!

Helpful and friendly staff. We rented boots and insulated socks to hike The Narrows. The gear was well worth it. It made the hike more enjoyable and safer.

Austin was an excellent guide— not only did our group of five have a lot of fun on the river and feel completely safe in his hands, but we also got our fair share of local history, animal facts, and laughs.

My partner and I just completed a 5 day Guide School with the new owner, Jared, and his assistant Will. And it changed my life. Covid put a dent in a lot of things, and this was the PERFECT “re-entry” into “new normal.”Jared is so highly qualified as an instructor, but also extremely professional. Stern when needed, patient, encouraging, understanding, supportive and also hilarious. He demonstrated unbelievable management and training skills... I have a new “standard of care” in my own personal management style thanks to him and his crew. I’m not sure I can ever live up to him and his crew, but imma die trying! I started the week completely terrified of the responsibilities of guiding (privately) my own boat, and finished the week just stoked and ready to get my boat wet safely.I likely won’t be seeing any of you reading this as your guide, but I cannot recommend Santa Fe Rafting Co. and any of their staff enough. What a truly epic, unforgettable experience! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Rented an inflatable kayak for an afternoon back in May. Fell in love with rafting, and paid to attend guide school back in May, and now I work here. Probably not helpful to you making your choice of company, but I love this place.

This was my 3erd time rafting the Rio Grand and by far my favorite trip.Ben was our guide and he was great. Everyone at Santa Fe Rafting Co. was fun friendly. I wish I could remember all their names so that they could all be mentioned personally here. I dont know what they pay those guys but- its not enough so tip em good!!! I sure wish Driftwood was in the picture with us too he was great. Thanks guys!

Best rafting company ever

What a great day with an awesome crew! My first rafting experience and I can’t wait to go again. A short shuttle with some really cool tidbits and facts about the area. Definitely glad I followed the instructions on wearing non cotton fabrics, was comfortable the whole trip. Beautiful scenery. Just loved it.

Sparky and his partner guided us so well! This was my first time white water rafting and I am so pleased with the two. From the van trip up and the river trip down, these two are such amazing people. A+!

I rafted the Racecourse yesterday with these folks. It was a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery, great rapids, and a really great lunch at the end. I thought it was a really great value. The only thing I could suggest is that the guides meet with the group before driving up to the launch point to make sure that we have everything we need with us. I left my dry clothes in my car, thinking that that was where I would need to change afterwards, but wished I had brought them with me. Some of us older folks dont think quite clearly!

We had such a great time with Mcgregor. He seriously made the trip worthwhile and the lunch Pete prepared was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend Santa Fe Rafting Co because of the passion these guys have for rafting. Our experience was phenomenal!!

The river was great this year. The water was high and running rapidly. My first raft trip. Great attention to safety and details. Pete was a great guide. Fellow raftmates were fun. The van took us from Santa Fe and back; we did not have to drive up and park.Ages ranged from 22 to 67 (my family at the older end). This was our second year on the Rio Grande with Santa Fe Rafting Co and we had an another amazing time. Excellent rapids this year due to the snowy winter we had. Austin and Trevor were amazing guides. They were both very skilled, knew a lot about the surrounding landscape, and had an endless supply of bad pun jokes. Please listen to your guide! They are literally doing everything in their power to makes sure you have a fun and safe time. We saw several rafts get into trouble, because the river is so high and fast this year, mostly due to guests not following directions. Great and exciting trip!!

Drove 10+ hours from Texas with my family primarily for this adventure and was so blessed to have done it with such a wonderful company!The staff has great customer service, great sense of humor, and is extremely knowledgeable about New Mexico nature and rafting!

My husband & I have hired Santa Fe Rafting both times we have vacationed there. Our guide Arnie was fantastic, gave us some great white water & funny stories. Don’t hesitate to hire this company for fun on the water. Can’t wait to come back!

Great trip! I went with a bachelor/bachelorette party. We rafted the Rio Chana but the water level was really low and we got stuck a lot. We cut the trip short at the halfway point bc of the water not being released from the dam by BLM. Sparky was the guide on my boat and was very knowledgeable and nice. We all had a blast! Ill be back soon.

Just went here on a vacation to New Mexico, and coming from Colorado, I can tell everyone these people know what they are doing, and the rafting is great. Definetly would reccomend rafting here, Meg was our guide today, but we got to know everyone on the team. Best raft Ive ever done.

I used to work for Santa Fe rafting. I loved everything about the sport. The water, the constant change between relaxing and focusing, the sun, and of course the workout! It’s all amazing.The only thing that, in retrospect, throws me off about the whole place is the staff. The owner is great, I just didn’t have the courage at the time to speak up about the behavior of the other raft guides.Shoutout to the good guides with amazing personalities! Coleman, Austin, June, some older skate-type dude whose name I forgot, and Sparky, man.As for some of the other guides. I think theres something very sad about bullying someone’s shortcomings that they have no control over immediately after you put on a facade to get a tip from a paying guest.The owner hired me understanding my shortcomings, and if she thought they were a problem, then she would’ve said something. It wasn’t any of your business what went down.Peace Ya’ll.Shade on Jake.That being said, I would work there again if I knew that staff member left. Choose your rafting Co. wisely.

Staff was great. Rafting was bad due to low water. Spent way too much time stuck on rocks. I think they said it was 147 CFS.

I choose this company as my workplace for few days while on travel around states. I work usually as swiftwater rescue instructor, so I did consider safety scope as factor number one. Yes, there are other companies running the river sections class WW-III without helmets and I would depreaced to work for them for safety reason, but not this guys.Usually the review should come from customers, not from inside the company. I promise I am not inside and my review is as objective as possible. I put my name into the everyday trips and do not want to get into troubles.Guides are local people, well knowing the river and surrounding area and nature, they can provide tons of informations and ansver nearly any question. We did start 7:30 in the morning every day and while I was here nobody was late to work not even one minute.There are good backoffice checklists for all they do and approach to serve customers need is remarkable. For now it is only company where shutle from/to river from/to Santa Fe is primary option included.Nobody is perfect, there is always something to do better. From my experience they do listen to suggestions and all reasonable notices do discuss and convert to real when cosidered. This guys are good choice for Rio Grande rafting trips. Make your own experience and judgement.P.S. Please go to other review networks to see more independent reviews as I realized last 2 reviews including mine are from people who worked for Santa Fe Rafting.
