We had sewage damage in our house, which required removal of all utilities and flooring and wall in the affected area. We called on a weekend to get the furnace removed, and Paul jumped on the task and came Sunday to remove. When we asked for Paul for later re-installation, we were able to have him come re-install the furnace, and the toilet. He did wonderful work with great attention to detail. He was professional and attentive, while also courteous and enjoyable to work with. We highly recommend Cartwrights and Paul for all of your needs. Another team came in to do the water heater installation, and they were also a wonderful crew, providing a terrific installation.

Our swamp cooler stopped working last nightin 88 degree weather. We called them and they said that the service repair man would call first thing in the morning. Jose called and was there in 20 minutes. He was extremely professional and.courteous. He asked if the office explained the rates and when i said no he explained them. He went up on the roof then came down to explain (after checking the various switch cycles) that the pump was very old and was not working properly. We agreed and he promptly fixed it. He wrote up our bill and when i asked if they gave a military discount he found out that they did. Great service Outstanding technician!!!

Had them come out to give an estimate. Hour and a half away, they said $99 trip fee. Ok.Was $99 per hour. $426 then no written estimate. Had their guy show me on his phone (he stopped back by) $18,000 plus for new propane line. Dude had said about $6700 when he was here.They just want the trip fee.Beware.

I had a sewer grinder pump replaced. The plumber seemed experienced and completed the job within an hour. However, the final bill was EXCESSIVE, $1,750 labor (doctors and lawyers dont charge nearly this much), $700 parts (60 percent more than the online price). I felt compelled to pay the bill out of necessity, but it left a very bad feeling, and I felt taken advantage of. I would not recommend this company nor their partner company, Roto Rooter. Their high balling techniques are unfortunate and leave retirees, like myself, feeling helpless...

We had an offset sewer pipe 125 feet from our house, 9 ft. deep. Endi, our Cartwright Technician, came out the next day, on-time, fixed the issue by the end of day. He did a phenomenal job, very professional and did a way better job than the plumber that laid the pipe originally. Thank you Endi and your Team! We really appreciate it.

We used another plumbing company for decades. This summer, they lost a drain snake in our sewer line (without telling us, leaving us with a terribly clogged sewer); and, they abandoned a complete gas line & water heater replacement job. We were stuck! We called Cartwrights Plumbing Heating and Cooling. Naomi was wonderful! She had a crew to our home in less than 30 minutes. What a Godsend! Carlos & Jesse used an awesome tool called a Jetter. Our sewer was unclogged in minutes. Using a camera (included in the cost), they found the drain snake lost in the pipe by the other company. We got that fixed. Now, we had to address the gas line & water heater replacement at our other residence. Once again, it was Cartwrights/Carlos to the rescue! He provided us with a quote and a contract within two days. They worked with the City of SF to get the permits & inspections we needed. Carlos & his team had the new gas line and water heater installed in just one day! They were expedient, professional and organized. The delay in getting gas service restored rested with the City. It took weeks to get the permits & inspections done. Carlos & Naomi kept us apprised of the progress on a regular basis. From the office staff to the plumbers, its been wonderful. Cartqrights provided great service! The lady who answered the phone was cheery and professional. She got a technician out to our home in one hour. Jose Castillo our technician was very professional, skilled and courteous. He had our AC up and running in not time. I would recommend Cartwrights plumbing to family and friends.

Elder arrived promptly on the site after problems with another contractor. He communicated the work that was being done. He replaced the cracked pipe with pvc pipe that wont crack from tree roots. He got the job done!

Cartwrights repaired my wine cooler. The computer board had died and I ordered the part from the company. The technician was very professional and punctual. He called me to schedule the work and again when he was on his way to my home. He was very careful of his surroundings and completed the refrigeration job within an hour. He checked the temperature to make sure the cooler was running properly and programmed the settings for me. I couldn’t have been happier! I would recommend this company and will use them when I have problems again. They were great.

Cartwright’s did a great job replacing my old sewer line. Carlos was very professional throughout the job. He listened and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. The same goes for the office staff - very patient and responsive. When they came back to fix a small issue, Carlos & Ryan dealt with it professionally, even using their own money to buy a special tap they did not happen to have on hand to get the job done.

These guys first came out on a Sunday after I punctured a pipe in the wall with a screw. The tech identified the problem but couldn’t fix it because he needed parts. He sent another tech the next day who, even though he was running behind and didn’t get to our house until after 8pm, fixed the problem and got us up and running again. He also found some non-urgent issues that night and came back a couple of weeks later to address those. All of the techs who came out were polite and professional and kept their masks on when they were in our home. We will definitely use them for future plumbing needs.

I had a leak in my swamp cooler and called on a Friday late - they sent Paul out right away and he was here in less than 2 hours. He figured out what was going on and helped make some adjustments to insure it did not happen again. He also walked me through some questions I had about future upgrades or adjustments and was very thorough. He was also honest about what it would cost and what was actually possible in my home. I was very impressed with how honest and thorough Paul was both with my swamp cooler and with my questions about future upgrades. I am so happy I found them!

My water heater failed and they answered the phone at night, quickly- a plumber, Carlos called me back and told me how to turn of the water supply. They came to my house on time at the time that was scheduled. They were friendly, professional, efficient and did excellent work. Nice to have someone do such good work and do it on time.

Made an appt for 11am, no show, no call, I called business spoke with Heather, being snippy at best, she said appointments are between hrs and mine was between 11am and 1pm. Ok, its 12:30, no call, no show! I can only imagine if they perform work like they perform appointments how they stay in business. NEVER will call them for anything and I will ensure their name is spread as MUD!

My wife and I had a couple of major plumbing issues around the house including our swamp cooler needing to be completely replaced. Isaac and Ryan were the plumbers who came to our house to do all the work and we couldnt be happier with the amazing job that they did!!!!! All of the plumbing around the house and took 2 days to complete and we are still blown away by the phenomenal job that they did!Both Isaac and Ryan were very professional, friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable about the work that they did. They always took the time to explain the steps that their work would entail and happily answered any and all questions that we had.The office staff was also very friendly and were always available to answer our questions and find an appointment time that fit our very erratic schedule.Their service was worth every penny andwe cant recommend them enough!!!!

The absolute WORST SERVICE TEAMIN NEW MEXICO.I called for a a furnace repair back in the beginning of November. The technician charged me almost $200 an hour, plus the $60 transportation fee, and charged me for a used power cord. The problem was not fixed. I kept in contact with the technician to try different things. The technician came back down because there was a 30-day guarantee on work and found that my filters were dirty. He cleaned those out and kept in contact with me as to whether or not it corrected the problem. It did not. He then ordered parts which took several weeks to come in, charge me an additional $200 an hour plus the $60 transportation fee (even though there was a guarantee of service).When I asked him why it was going to cost me a total of over $600 to fix a furnace that is still not working, the office manager started yelling in the background that if I refuse to pay my bill that they would put a lien on my house in four days. at no point in time did I say I was refusing to pay my bill. Then she got on the phone and told me that it took a month and a half for me to pay my bill the first time around, when the bill was paid andmy receipt was in hand at the time of service.Then she started accusing me of sitting around and avoiding my technicians phone calls, while it has been snowing. I work 13-hour shifts and gave my technician as well as the office staff my fathers phone number if I was ever unable to be reached. The office manager continued on with telling me that it was my fault that my furnace isnt fixed and continued speaking down to me as if I werent going to pay my bill. Then when I said I will not pay her, I will pay my technician because I didnt want to speak to her anymore, I paid and he had the audacity to tell me that if the payment didnt go through he would go ahead and give me a call, while the office manager is still yelling in the background that she was going to put a lien on my home.Everybody, with this company is extremely unprofessional, lazy, and has a ridiculous lack of customer service.Avoid this company like the plague.

Customer service was great on the phone and excellent in person. Eric and Ryan were professional, friendly, and efficient. They explained my furnace problem in detail, fixed it, checked carefully for other potential problems, and offered advice about future maintenance. The only reason I chose 4 instead of 5 stars is that the service call seemed pricey when I wasnt buying any parts -- over $100 more than I expected for the length of the visit. If you have a low budget, you may want to shop around. If youre just looking for excellent, reliable service, this is a good choice.

Bad experience! I asked if these guys could snake a drain from the washing machine and they said yes. Made an appt for Friday. They didnt show up and reschedule for the first thing Saturday morning. No show. I called and got an operator and left a message. They reschedule for Monday and he showed up without any equipment, walked around my yard came in my house. Told me I didnt have a clean out. Need have to pull out the toilet, go down with a camera to find the clog. That would be $1,400. Then hed need to come back dog to the yard and out in a clean out. Hes go through the roof but it was snowing. I called anytime plumbing. With in five minutes he found my clean out. Within in the hour Frank and Daniel from any time plumbing had my drain clean.

I have a sump pump on the property which needed replacement. I was hesitant to use Cartwright in view of some of the reviews I read; but having heard it was a different ownership I decided to hire them for the job. The pump was installed in March; but to no fault of the company at all, ended up being defective- its rare, but can happen. I called Cartwright to explain the problem; and they replaced the pump at no cost to me. It took several trips to the house to pinpoint the problem. Carlos came recently and finished the job, showed me how it all works, and left everything clean. I was very pleased with their performance and professionalism. Thank you.

Fixed it and more...we havent had water pressure like this since we moved in 14 years ago! I cant say enough about the professionalism of their workers! Cartwrights is one of the few plumbers that we called that would work on mobile homes. I had a difficult clog in my septic line. When Cartwrights found that Roto-Rooting was not fixing the problem, they used a camera to scope the system. The system had lots of bends that made diagnosing the problem more challenging, but they found the source of the clog; roots got into my 20+ year old sewage pipe where it meets the septic tank. The team excavated the problem spot with a backhoe, cleared the clog, installed curved clean-outs that can better accommodate camera scopes to better monitor that area, and sealed up where the pipe meets the tank with waterproof concrete to keep out roots. The team was very professional. They were responsive to my phone calls. They patiently answered my questions. They minimized the impact of the repair on my home and yard.

I called alot of plumbers when my Grandmas well Plumbing was not working. Mario and Paul came out that evening to look at the system. The water pressure was low. Once they Identified the issue and explained what needed to be done they got us taken care of the next day. I reached out to Cartwrights where I was treated like family all the way from the first phone call(The office staff is fast, friendly, and patient) to when they installed my new furnace/ ac. Had a small leak near hot water heater and the circulating pump wasnt working. Called Cartwrights and they sent out Ray. Found out my 20 yr old hot water heater was at the center of my problem. Ray walked me thru the situation, showed and explained everything to me. Did the work, very professional, and Covid-19 safe every step of the way. He also brought my 20 yr old system up to code. Ive had other plumbers from Santa Fe before, and had problems with them showing up on schedule, getting the job done on time, and the cost always is more than quoted. No such problems with Cartwrights!

Set up an emergency service call for a residential backed up sewage line, set up call Saturday night for Sunday morning. I called Sunday morning to verify and ask tech to call me. Never heard back, no one ever showed up. Leaving sewage backing up into my house while we find another plumber. If you cant trust them to show up, can you really trust them to have integrity in other aspects of their work?

I had a plugged toilet, so I contacted Cartwrights. They were in town (in Taos) so thankfully they waived the travel fee. However, after 5 minutes of work and $285 later I was told I need a new toilet. Bummer for me that I had to pay that much money for nothing - my toilet wasnt fixed. When I called to ask if its customary to charge that much for nothing, the nice gal said that I actually should have been charged more! Yikes! So, I called a different plumber (Pro-Mech Plumbing & Heating - they are excellent!!) and he came and spent 2 minutes to tell me that I need a new toilet. He then installed a new toilet and he only charged $60 total for it. I highly recommend him! I wish I would have called him first! Hes now done a few other plumbing needs for us and hes excellent and at a MUCH better price!!

Paul and Gerald did a great job with fixing my mini split system. I tried calling several other companies and never was able to get a hold of anyone. Cartwrights answered right away and were able to send HVAC experts to my house in a timely fashion.

I explained what my problem was to their dispatcher we set up a time, she did make sure to inform me of a trip charge to come to Taos and I accepted that.The guy came to look at my situation, I showed him my thermal that I had that I used to narrow down the area, he went to his van a couple times then told me that he would email me an estimate the next day & that he couldn’t do anything today. Then he wrote up an invoice for the trip charge. I’ve yet to get an estimate even after emailing him direct. So he drove up here to make $200 and now I believe he had no intention of doing any work from the beginning or there after. I would cation anyone looking for a plumber to stay away from this company.

I had a commercial sewer line replacement job in a residential community. Several proposals were required. Cartwrights came in high, but a follow-up call instigated by them brought the cost down below the competitors. The work was clean and on schedule and the crew excellent! Very pleased with everyone including Camilla in the office.

My experience with Cartlate was terrible. Both times I scheduled service they were extensively late - one for a simple job that was only 75% completed and one for a remodel estimate. Based on other reviews working with this company is clearly hit or miss. They either get to you, or they dont. And when they dont it is the most infuriating plumbing company in town. They have no respect for your time because they do not take any actions that express this. Even when they know the technician will be late they do not let you know. After talking to Ed and Abigale, they clearly have no empathy for wasting peoples time because their excuse is just we are busy. So is most everyone else in life! The dispatch staff also has no empathy for these matters. If you think you still want to try Cartwright understand it is a flip of a coin on whether you get good and on time service. I was offered a discount on future work, but even if their service was free it would not be workable situation. They just have no problem wasting your time.

I found this business to be very unprofessional. I had a plumbing issue that was estimated by another plumbing company in Santa Fe for 1/2 the price of what Cartwrights was charging. When I spoke to the office manager Camille about the difference in price, she said Well its going to cost extra because thats how much we charge. Do you think I care about how much you pay? If they have a better deal, go to them!! When I asked to speak with the owner, she said Im part owner so you can speak with me! then she promptly hung up. Needless to say, Ill be going with the other company!

Do not trust this company, we were out of town and our renters called Cartwright Plumbing. They showed up, could not find a gas leak, told our renter to pump up the gas line to fake the inspector, called us up in Colorado and said they could not do any work without a credit card number which we gave them because of gas emergency They left after 3.6 hours with nothing accomplished, charged us over $2000 and told us that it would take $15,000 to put new outdoor gas line from road. Thats over $500 per hour. Our plumber came the next day, found and fixed the gas leak in 10 minutes and took care of sewage problems in a couple of hours. Charged us one third and fixed the problem. These guys are crooks.

Our shower and bathtub backed up with water when our washing machine drained. We called Cartwrights and since it was late on a Sunday, I expected an exorbitant fee for repairs. Malcolm from Cartwrights called and he showed up a half hour later, and within an hour he had cleared our drains and left us with working toilets, showers, and tubs and also left us very happy and satisfied. The fee was more than reasonable and the service was completed professionally and fast. Thank you!

Replaced broken part in furnace quickly after part arrived!

Greg Ortiz did a great job replacing my sink strainer that was leaking. It cost more than expected but getting a plumbers time in Los Alamos is a premium. He even noticed that I needed the water line and electric package for my new dishwasher installed and did it without charging me the whole dishwasher install fee fee. 1.5 hours and my problem was solved. These guys work on a flat fee structure so make sure you get an estimate.

Eric closed up our boiler and got our air conditioner working! I try to always ask for Eric so I won’t have problems today or later.

Great experiences with every interaction. A live person answered the phone immediately and they were able to schedule my AC repair the next day between 1 and 3. At 12:30 the office called to say they were on their way and then 5 minutes later the technician called to also confirm he was on the way. The service call was very professional and the technician extremely friendly and helpful. Within an hour the AC was back in business. Id definitely call again for any issues with my plumbing or air.

Very responsive service, answered the phone on the first try (not a given around here) and sent a technician out the same afternoon to repair a radiant heat boiler. The tech was extremely knowledgeable and didnt mind me looking over his shoulder while he replace the broken part, and in fact he happily answered the several questions I had about the boiler. The bill was quite reasonable, especially since the house is 40+ minutes outside of Santa Fe. This is the second time I have had them out here, and the previous experience a couple of years ago was likewise very positive.

We are new to Santa Fe and needed a plumber. A friend suggested Cartwrights. Boy, were they right. Fast, professional service. All of our issues were fixed and we were back up and running in no time. A special shout out to tech Shane Benavidez - really professional and quality work. Whatever you need done, they can do it. Our service call included a leaking faucet in a tub, roots in a sewer line, outside spigot that wouldnt work, and a non-functional hot water recirculating system. Everything was fixed quickly and for a very reasonable fee. I would highly recommend Cartwrights to anyone needing a plumber.

This company will rip you off. Cartwrights charged me $583.50 in labor for a few manual labor tasks and a mini-camera inspection of a venting system (exactly two PVC vents). Total time worked? Less than an hour. Total bill for less than an hour? $722.86. I complained and they gave me the run-around, saying that they charge by the job. I asked them what job could justify $583 for less than an hours work and they stopped answering my multiple emails. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney Generals Office. Even after telling them I had hired them 10 months prior for a different mini-camera inspection and it was half the price? No response. I am shocked that this place hasnt been shut down for unfair trade practices, theyre predators.

We had several plumbing issues and contacted Cartwrights. They were on time, fast, dependable and corrected all the issues for our house. They had to schedule a second visit and were actually available to come early! The technician was knowledgeable, experienced and I felt was very honest in his assessment and work. Would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. We are now a loyal customer for all our plumbing needs.

I was charged over $350. All he did was light a pilot light on the water heater. I was supposed to be contacted for any charges over $300. That did not happen. My partner and I own 6 properties in Santa Fe. Well never call Cartwrights again.

Shane came to do my fall buddy system check on the heater/boiler....he was very informative and polite and thorough....I appreciated his work and manner.

I was told some one would come out and look at the problem, instead I get a call telling me they need to bring a tractor and that it will cost 1400! Without even looking at the problem, then quoted me over 500$ for a fix thats less 200$ if I dig it up myself. Really dude, at least come look at the problem before you try ripping me off.

Great Customer service. Damian out technician was Excellent, we had some pluming issues at our home, called Cartwright and they were able to send him right the next day. Strongly recommend using them for all Pluming and Hvac.

Cartwrights has always done a great job for us. Theyre able to provide the service we need when we need it even in an emergency. . The Service Buddy program is top notch.

Although we have always been pleased with all of Cartwrights service people, my husband and I want to give a special shout-out to Gonzolo A. for his excellent service. He has serviced our plumbing needs (including installing a new toilet) three or four times. He is very knowledgeable (lots of experience) and always he explains in detail what needs to be done. Some of the more difficult problems that have persisited for years he can solve.Thank you, Gonzlo!

You will regret using this company. My appointment window was from 1-3 pm it is now almost 4:30 and still no one has shown up. This is the second time this has happened to me. Really if you have someone else you can use, then please do so.

Scheduled a first time appointment for Cartwright to come over to do some plumbing work. They said anytime between 10 and 12. We call at 11 to ensure the appointment was on schedule and they indicated that the plumber was running behind and we should hear from him within the hour. We call back at 1PM and they indicate that he is on his way. We wasted a whole day for us and called them back at 3:15PM to see where the plumber was and she said she would call us back. She finally called us back and said the plumber tried called....which is an absolute L-I-E! We have been waiting here all day and indeed have caller ID and call waiting and there was never a call from them. We asked if he was on his way and she said we will have to reschedule. We asked if he could come within the hour or we would just find another company. She said very sarcastically...well I guess you will just have to find another company! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE WAITING AND UNTRUTHFUL STATEMENT BECAUSE OF THEIR LACK OF SCHEDULE COMMITTMENT!

Ed Romero provided great service in fixing a problem with my boiler. He troubleshot the problem within minutes on a cold October morning and had the necessary part replaced by the end of the day. This was after another company said I would need to replace my boiler. It pays to have an experienced technician and company. Will call them again when I need help.

$268 to light a pilot light. Good grief.

Do not trust this company. They CAUSED a leak when they were doing some repair work for me and when I called to have them come back and fix it (After being told that if it leaked they would come back at no charge to address the issue), I was charged over $200 to repair a leak that THEY caused. I have used this company in the past and was satisfied, I will no longer recommend them.

Every technician I had was great, but their billing practices are sub par. The office refused to send me a copy of the bill before I gave them my CC number. I refused since its only fair to know what you are paying for Before handing over a CC number! Ive have this company repair and replace several items in my house including a sump pump. Again, once you get a technician to the house, things go well, but the office communication has been poor.

Not very efficient; takes weeks to receive pricing for simple repairs and then the office tells you repeatedly they cannot help you or tell you ANYTHING you have to speak with the techs who NEVER call you back....highly recommend using another company!
