Very disappointing. Instead of a mens barber shop, I was shown into a womens beauty salon, where the chair was far too small for me. I scheduled a beard trim, which is impossible to do correctly in a beauty-salon chair. Attention to detail was lacking. The beauty stylist wanted to do an electric-razor cut for my hair, but I can do that on my own. I requested scissors to be used, which is standard practice in barber shops. Also standard in barber shops is to shape up a beard with a straight razor around the edges after a hot towel. None of this was offered. It does not appear they perform any of this. The price was not commensurate with the service provided.This is really an example of deceptive advertising, because I requested barber services and, instead, received beauty services. While the stylist did her best, she was clearly out of her element.Highly unlikely to return.

Made an online appointment with Mike for a Sunday at noon, walked in 10 minutes early and he was ready for me. Genuinely friendly and super easy going. Haircut was very good, I like a low skin fade. Fair price too.

Growing up in my grandpas barber shop makes be appreciate the ambiance of this old fashioned barber shop. Jeremiah does an awesome job. I love how they take walk ins and no appointments are needed. Works well for my chaotic schedule.

Had a cut with CREE. Asked for a bang trim and just to clean the bottom of the neck line. I told her I am growing out the back- I had beautiful soft curls. She cleans up the neckline and says, “I’m just going to blend it together back here.” And she proceeds to cut off all the the soft curls that I loved and was growing out. What is it with stylists in this town? Needless to say I was absolutely devastated and horrified. It has grown out horribly- really bad. I really wish that I could chop off all of her hair! That would feel so satisfying!!!

Just moved to SF from Houston about 3 months ago. Finally got through researching and made an appointment for Laura Jean. I was the last appointment of the day but was still treated with care and skill. Definitely going to be going only to her from now on, and Im so happy with my luck in finding her.

Edit: I initially wasnt very happy with my cut but the owner promptly reached out and made things right. Ill try again in the future, especially since the shop has some cool heritage as a family owned business across multiple generations.

Ive been in Santa Fe a few months for work and had no idea where to get a great haircut when the time came. A couple of guys at the gym I go to mentioned this incredible place and, in particular, they recommended Sean Jones, among several other stellar colleagues of his.Sean more than lives up to his reputation. He is a master of what he does, an artist, really, and personable and an engaging conversationalist. Most importantly, he cut my hair exactly as I asked, and also added his own touches, only after asking me first, and his suggestions made the result that much better. Great guy. Cant recommend him, and The Center Barber & Beauty Shop enough. The place itself is worth a visit. 65 years in the same place. Its a combination of historic, hip, authentic, almost like a club minus any attitude and where you dont pay dues. No wonder they have some many devoted clients.

The best! Haircut like I want it and salon services for my wife to boot. Style conscious barbers too. Nothing in Santa Fe comes close. Never a long wait and usually easy parking. Reasonably priced for the quality of service and attention. In addition, there are two restaurants nearby, a drugstore and other businesses all in the same center. Easy access off Cordova Rd. After trying several other barbers in the Santa Fe area, I’ve settled on The Center as my regular place to go.

First of all, my husband and son get their hair cuts here and have never been disappointed. In my opinion it’s the best place in town an affordable men’s haircut. What really impressed me was the amazing job Ashley did for me after I decided to cut my own bangs, (bad idea!). I was able to walk in the next day, and despite the disaster she was starting with she was able to transform them into adorable bangs. She also took the time to add some front layers to blend it all together. All for a fraction of the price anywhere else. Super impressed!

Been going to only one place since I have lived in Santa Fe for the past 7 years. Well this time around I had to find a new spot due to barber being on vacation. Let me tell this place is freaking awesome Sean Jones was the man that had the privilege to cut my hair and shave as well. I am a very picky person and so is Sean his attention to detail of what the customer wants and needs is spot on. Conversation was great and comical when need be. This barber shop is the best in Santa Fe. I go to Jude and no matter what I ask for i always get a great cut that both men and women compliment. As a professional female with a short style is extremely hard to find a person (barber or stylist) that I am comfortable with but who can also do a cut that fits my style. Jude is that guy. Hes a rare talent. The Center definitely has a higher quality staff than other shops Ive been to. Ive seen all the bartenders and stylists send out AMAZING work. I neglected my hair for 3 years due to traveling and living off the grid (bathing with a gallon jug full of collected rainwater makes washing long hair a challenge). I was embarrassed to wear my hair down and had stopped brushing it.I called and made a same-day appointment with Sean Jones, who didnt judge me for my poor grooming habits and instead made me feel comfortable and at ease. He patiently and gently picked out my tangles, saving the hair instead of chopping it off. He then gave me a flattering cut for which I wont have to use any hair dryers to style.The atmosphere was friendly, calm, and clean. The decor was cool and colorful with retro glamour photos. Lots of people happily being groomed (if I could grow a beard I would frequent The Center Barber Shop on a weekly basis) and saying hellos to one another. Nice color jobs and cuts being done in the back Beauty Shop. I highly recommend and had a really pleasant experience! Thanks Sean! I promise Ill start combing my hair again!

It’s been awhile since I went in but today I needed a haircut bad since my barber wasn’t cutting hair today, I just asked for a zero fade on the sides and the back. I’m trying to let my hair grow long on the top so I can style it back and she didn’t do anything to the back and left a patch of hair there maybe she misunderstood idk, i won’t be going back again

I was the maid of honor for a wedding on July 15th. The brides mother mentioned that she had wanted to get a haircut but hadnt been able to. We had a little bit of time after decorating the venue. We went into town and were lucky enough to happen upon the Center Barber shop. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was nostalgic. While a young female barber took care of my friend asking her many questions about what she wanted, the young lady from the beauty shop half gave me a tour. There were many walk ins and some regulars. We were all done within a half hour and my friends mother looked and felt beautiful. I will be going back!! 🙌

Im not a native of Santa Fe, but while shopping at the drug store, I walked by the Center Barber Shop and decided to get a haircut. I was impressed with the way I was greeted. Everyone was friendly, they made me feel welcome and the haircut I got was a great haircut. I love the retro style of the barbershop and I found out its been there since 1954-- WOW!

Ive recently move to Santa Fe from Northern California and to be honest I was skeptical of getting a hair cut out here. No offense intended, yet Ive read nothing but good reviews regarding Center Barber & Beauty Shop. There were two bad reviews, yet I was extremely impressed how the shop responded back and went out their way to make it right. As soon as I walked in the shop I was greeted and felt welcome instantly. I meet my barber Marcos, cool respectful young man who carried his self professionally at all times. He made it a priority that he was on the same page to know how i wanted my hair to look, and the terminology he used gave me confidence that I would have a good hair cut. It never felt rushed and you could tell hes passionate about his work because my fade is blended flawlessly. I felt bad for not having a tip available for him, yet hes gained a loyal customer and ill definitely double up with the tip next time around. Im an African American male and it was good to see all shapes genders, ages, and colors in a peaceful positive welcoming environment. Id recommend any to give them a try and then youll be able to relate to my experience.

I recommended a friend to have his haircut and beard trim here. Laura, who he said smelled like she had not showered and was very unpleasant this morning, April 14th, was the worst service he had ever expierenced. First of all his cut was not as he asked (it was still long) he asked cut as short with scissors. Ended up paying $30, never going back ever because of this experience.
