He was so helpful, easy to work with, and I got a very fair price, after doing my research with the apps that people are using to sell rings and such. Firstly, I have no ill will towards the owner and his business, but this is just an HONEST review. I sold some rings to him last year and he felt the need to tell my friends about them mentioning his business to me, in the past and there is nothing wrong with that. But to go into detail that I sold him rings was embarrassing because my friends asked if I was facing financial hardship, which I was....Secondly, I got myself into a better financial position and I contacted the owner about purchasing my rings back. I came into the store and an Englishman who worked there was rather short and rude with me when I asked for J. That short exchange put me off a little. Thirdly, I was able to buy two rings of mine back, but the owner J was acting like I was seriously inconveniencing him. He got defensive when he gave me a price and i questioned it. I was just processing in my head when I asked...but his response was Look, sweetie I am a for profit business. I did buy the rings for his asking price because the rings had a sentimental value to me. I asked him kindly NOT to call me sweetie, and he responded sarcastically with oh well shall I call you by _____? Is THAT okay? I did not appreciate his lack of respect. I do not like men who call women, like myself, sweetie in a demeaning manner. It is rather unfortunate that the people acted this way because customers can always leave reviews online.

Brought my wedding set in to sell to Joe (the owner). He was really genuine and straight to the point which I appreciate, he didnt waste my time nor did I his. He was very knowledgeable about the diamonds and gave me a fair deal which anyone can appreciate, especially during these trying times. In my opinion this shop was the best jeweler in the area and gave the best prices compared to a few other places I visited. So dont waste your time with the other jewelers in Santa Barbara or Ventura, come straight to Joes shop to buy or sell jewelry. Great guy.

The guy was very rude and short. I am new to jewelry purchasing and also have a couple pieces from family. I wanted to ask about removing a diamond and making a ring but never got that far. I also had some Pearls which I wanted to know if they were real. Once he saw them he said we dont deal with that. And every question cut me off until I just left. I recommend avoiding this place at all cost.

I always enjoyed visiting Santa Barbaras State Street, but it became ever so more wonderful when I discovered Bella Rosa Galleries. The jewelry is exquisite, some new, much vintage. I love Art Deco and Joe has a dynamic selection of jewelry of all sorts that leaves one breathless because of its creativity, style and grace. All jewelry is carefully curated by Joe who is intimately familiar with everything in his store. Im always rewarded when I stop in (which I wish could be more often), not just by his knowledge but also by his warmth and kindness.

Great jewelers! Very friendly, with no pressure to buy. Me and my fiancee were looking for a wedding band, and this was the first place we looked. Alan was very welcoming, a great help, and showed us a ton of options. We ended up returning at the end of the day, after looking elsewhere to compare (there are no comparisons!), and my fiancee decided on a beautiful 14k white gold ring. They even worked with us on the price, which was very appreciated! If you need fine jewelry at an affordable cost, then I recommend going here. They will even custom make pieces for you.

During my first ever visit to Santa Barbara I popped into the Bella Rosa Galleries to take a look around and left a very happy customer! I found a delicate 1920s ruby and diamond band which I adore. The woman who helped me was lovely; the price was negotiable and they took care of sizing it for me before my vacation was over so I could wear it home. Im thinking of consigning some of my fine jewelry here even though I live in a different state. A great experience.

Was standing across the street, saw an employee or owner of the store scream, point and cause a scene for someone to leave because there was a homeless person laying on a bench. Unacceptable, especially in a time where so many people are struggling and being evicted. Will never shop there ever

I came into the store looking for a Christmas gift for my mom. I told the owner, Joe, that I was on a budget. He showed me some amazing glass pendants (floral/leaf shaped, beads, and more) made locally here in Santa Barbara, CA. The handmade glass chandeliers hanging inside were impressive too. Id HIGHLY recommend this jewelry stored, based on the courtesy of the employees here, and the variety of jewelry & art found inside. I wasnt in the market for engagement rings, but a sales associate pointed out that theres both antique and modern collections for sale. Impressive stuff..

I have decided to update this review because the owner of this establishment reached out to me and made things square.Unhappy customer --> Satisfied customer------------------What happened: Previously, I had bought a great antique ring here and they offer to size it for me for free. My ring had a makers hallmark 18K BELAIS which is a significant part of its value as an antique. When my ring was returned to me, the shank had been joined poorly (the joint was skinny and crooked). Furthermore, they had cut right through the hallmark and erased it! Any professional jeweler will tell you that a ring can and should be sized to the side of a hallmark to preserve it.-----------------------------How the owner made it right: Joe recognized that his goldsmith had made a serious error and he has offered reimbursement to have the shank replaced.--------------------------------In summary: Bella Rosa offers a good selection of antique jewelry and you can get great bargains if you make reasonable offers. The proprietor is committed to customer satisfaction and will follow up if there are problems with your purchase.
