Gabriel seemed like such a nice person that I really was hoping not to need to leave a bad review, but given the safety issues that weve just learned about our trailer that we bought from him, it seems important to do it. So, here goes. We bought a restored vintage trailer from Business Trailer Sales/Gabriel. At the time, there was one negative review that also complained about the quality of Gabriels work and that expressed concerns about the safety of the companys craftmanship (you can read that negative review in the not recommended reviews below. We were concerned about this, but after talking to Gabriel and calling some of his other references, we were persuaded that Gabriel was an honest and capable businessman and that the other review had been the result of a significant misunderstanding. So, we went ahead with the purchase. At the time of purchase, we raised concerns about the worn appearance of the wood and batting underneath the trailer, with termites being one of our concerns. As a result, Gabriel and his crew kept the trailer for some extra time, charged us some extra money, and then claimed to have replaced any rotten, termite-infested wood. Several months after taking the trailer home, we noticed what appeared to be termite frass falling from the ceiling and all over the floor. I texted Gabriel to ask about this and got no response. I figured that maybe he was busy, so I waited a bit, found even more termite holes and fresh frass in the trailer, texted Gabriel again, and still received no response. At around this time, we took our trailer out camping, and on our way back, the fresh water tank became kinked, so it is impossible to drain the tank (its currently sitting there full). We asked a different vintage trailer company with a very good reputation to come look at our trailer and to help us figure out how to take care of the termites and fix the water tank issues. Unfortunately, during this meeting, the owner of the other company expressed some concerns about the safety and road-worthiness of our trailer because of the shoddy way it had been restored, in particular because the necessary internal supports to hold the trailer up had been removed. He also raised concerns about the structural integrity of the front of the trailer where it is attached to the frame, and pointed out that the trailer is leaking down into the inner wall. So, we spent a great deal of money on a trailer that, while cute albeit with rustic craftmanship (wood cracking, holes under outlets, dinette falls off while in bed mode sometimes) needs a great deal of repair even though weve only owned it for about a year. The lack of response from Gabriel is disappointing, and I cant recommend a company that puts my family in danger with their poor craftmanship. Ill also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Update: I wanted to update this review because I have been receiving a steady stream of pictures from the trailer company that is repairing the vintage trailer that we bought from Gabriel/BTS, and these pictures illustrate the extent to which Gabriel put our family in danger by selling us a trailer that was barely attached to the frame. This trailer was supposed to be attached to the frame by 10 carriage bolts. It was missing the front 6, and of the 4 that were attached, 3 were loose. Im appalled to think that someone would put my family (and other people on the road) in danger by cutting corners in this way. And, he charged us a lot of money for all of this. Update: Oh! And the trailer had no ground for the electrical components, so when we plugged it in, the metal door frame shocked our young daughter. So, thats another repair that were having done.

On February 24th 2018 my husband and I went down to The Glamping Trailer located at 1106 East Walnut Street Unit #A, Santa Ana California. Once there, Leann and her husband Gabriel De La Cruz showed my husband and I some of the trailers they were working on. My husband and I once again explained to Leann and her husband the importance of having a brand new, strong, foundation on our trailer since we would be operating a coffee business out of it. It was also explained to Leann that the current floor and subfloor on my trailer was deteriorating due to the above mentioned issues. Leann reassured that the only part they would be using from our trailer, would be the metal frame and because of that, I would be able to customize the trailer’s size and make the body of it larger if needed. Prior to ending the meeting, it was agreed that I would send Leann photos and a layout of the trailers cosmetic appearance. On 10-27-18, I dropped off my trailer with Leann and left her shop filled with excitement and a sense of accomplishment because all my hard work was finally going to pay off.On 12-15-2018 my husband and I met with Leann and her husband in order to pick the trailer up. We conducted a brief walkthrough of the inside and outside of the trailer only inspecting the cosmetics and location of certain items such as the ice bin, refrigerators, cabinets and windows. We did notice that there was no gray tank installed and that the gray water was being disposed of freely in the front of the trailer onto the ground. We brought this up to Leann and Gabriel. The foundation, structure, and quality of the electrical system were not inspected by my husband and I at the time of pickup as we trusted Leann and Gabriel. At the time there was no reason to suspect that Leann and Gabriel would not complete the job they promised. Additionally, Leann and Gabriel indicated that if there was anything wrong with the trailer, they would fix it at no extra charge. They told me that their work was guaranteed and this gave me a sense of trust. I soon found out that was not the case.My husband and I took possession of the trailer and every time we took the time to explore it, we found damages. In the next couple of days we notice several major damages to our trailer. These damages included but are not limited to; the trailer having the original old, damaged wood foundation with some of the wood chipping off; the trailer not being properly sealed at the windows, doors and other places which allowed water to leak inside; growing mold on different locations inside the trailer; the electrical system having exposed wires and not being able to hold the required power when in use (We later found out through a professional that the electrical work was illegal and extremely dangerous); the ceiling caving in possibly due to not having proper support; the door frame being out of shape and not consistent with the door’s shape. The list of issues goes on and on.Leann was made aware of the damages however, she did not show any concern or interest in fixing them. I have attempted to negotiate with Leann in good faith and I have requested a refund however, Leann has not cooperated.| have consulted with professionals which have confirmed the damages done to my trailer. I have documentation of this including pictures, videos, quotes, emails and text messages. At this point I have a trailer that is not functioning. I had to pay an expert to completely redo the electrical on the trailer. My business has been suffering as I am unable to operate out of my trailer. They since posted my trailer on craigslist for sale. The trailer that I designed, I hold the title for, and is in my possession. Please Visit Yelp for some photos of damages and craigslist post.
