I took my old car that had been sitting in my drive way for 3 years and they where very helpful. After explaining what had been previously wrong with my car I was able to tow my car in, due to work I couldnt go in person, and they called me with updates. They explained everything to me in a way that I could understand which helped in making decisions. It was pinpointed to be the alternator and after it being replaced my car has not had issues. When I went to take it out of NPO and pay for the registration, they did my smog check right before. They even called me the next day to follow-up and asked if I have had any issues. Honest people and great costumer service. Highly recommend 👌

Tom is the best I have taken my SUV here twice after I had a mechanic on fairview fix my car. Tom diagnosed the issue in 5 minutes or so when my old mechaninc needed days to figure out what was wrong. Tom cleaned up this mechanics work fast and cheap! Quality is excellent he doest give you the run around he gets the car fixed! He doesnt take shortcuts and hooks everything up the right way. This is the only spot I will be taking my car now!

I have a 1974 International Scout that I took in for electrical problems. The owner was out front, met me and although he was working on another car, took the time to look at mine. Within a minute he knew what the problem was and it turned out to be an easy fix. He told me how to fix it and suggested I try it myself. He sent me off without a charge and now it runs with no electrical problems. I would recommend this place to others.

I am so glad that I found an HONEST and CAPABLE auto repair shop! When my check engine light came on and indicated a cylinder misfire, I drove from Oceanside to Westminster because I knew Tomvo would not try to oversell and overcharge! A year ago I had another shop tell me I needed brakes. Tomvo checked them and said they still had life left in them. So when a year later, he told me it was time to change the brakes, I felt confident that that was true.I almost hate to give such a great review, because it might make him too busy!! I am not related in anyway, other than being a satisfied customer.

The mechanics here are quick and knowledgeable. They explain to you in laymans terms what is going on with your vehicle and they finish the work when promised.

Very reliable and honest. I once had an issue with my truck and brought it over to pep boys. They were going to charge me an insane amount. Turns out all I needed was an oil change and pep boys failed to check it for me. Hes also been helpful with many other things. I highly recommend. Tomvos will have my business for life! After having 2 years of electrical problems with my car, I took it to Tomvos. Tom checked it out, and within 15 minutes, diagnosed the issue (voltage regulator in my alternator). He explained everythimg, and KNEW whay symptoms my car was experiencing without me telling him. I took it back to the original mechanic that installed the altdrnator for replacement. And what did Tom charge me for his incredible diagnosis? $0. Where have you ever heard that???!!! In case you need another testimonial as to why you should take your vehicle to Tomvo, let me share my story with you.Two and a half weeks ago, my check engine light began flashing and the car began running poorly. I took it to my local mechanic, whos done some minor repair work in the past but nothing to this degree. They charged me $425 for the work they supposedly did, but still returned the vehicle to me with a flashing check engine light. They told me to either go to a dealership to have the ECM reprogrammed or to take it to an electrical specialist they recommended.I went to the dealership first, who then said theyd reflash my ECM for $150. Three hours later, I get a call saying the ECM was up-to-date and that it didnt require reflashing. I asked them what was wrong and they told me I had to authorize diagnosis and that the $150 was for reflashing the ECM (which they didnt do, by their own admission.) I decided to cut my losses with the dealership, paid the $150 for work they didnt do, and then went to the electrical specialist.The electrical specialist I was referred to looked massively disorganized, but Ive never been in this situation and wanted to take my original mechanics word for it. They ordered an ECM for me and made me put down a $50 deposit. They told me theyd have it in 5 days; but when 5 days came, they told me theyd have it in another 5 days. 5 days followed after that, and then they said theyd have it in yet another 5 days still. I dont know anyone in SoCal who can be without a car for that long, so I took matters into my own hands and searched for a qualified electrical specialist in the area. Thats when I found Tom Vo.I took the vehicle in and they had the issue correctly diagnosed within 10 minutes. 3 hours later, they had a new ECM installed, repogrammed and ready to go. The service was prompt, the pricing was competitive, and both Tom and his son (also Tom) both addressed me like I was a customer and not like I was a money mark for them to make an easy dollar off of. Im very happy with the work they did and how they treated me. Theyll definitely get my business in the future and should be regarded as highly recommended by myself.

I first found Tom by mistake. I have used him first for electrical work. Something was wrong with my gear shift and he just replaced some part that only costs me like $50. Today, Tom and his guy, replaced my front Honda 2001 accord brakes for $120. They use Honda parts.Earlier in the day, I replaced my tires at Ramos Tires off of Bristol. Those guys tried to convince me to change my brakes for inferior cheap parts for $140 and tried to say I need to change out my rotars. Tom told me my rotars were just fine, for now. Id recommend giving these guys a try. They are thus far the most honest and thats hard to say about an auto shop.
