With greetings to wine tasters everywhere, let me share my recent experience with Spectrum Wine. I think this might be useful if you are considering the sale of your wine in return for cash. Let me describe my experience. My first and continuing contact was with Kerry Seaworth, a straightforward, informative, extremely reliable, and even kindly source of information. She advanced Spectrums purchase proposal without delay, responded within minutes of my inquiries, unhesitatingly scheduled a time for Spectrums review of the bottles in my cellar, and impeccably fulfilled the details of the transaction. As one whos been buying (and enjoying) significant quantities of wine since the 1970s, I regard her respect for customers as exceptional.Spectrums agent for the wine and cellar inspection in my home was Christopher Weed. He combines a stellar resume with great practical knowledge, natural intelligence, and significant familiarity with the many wines he examined. This European educated young man is helpful, creative, precise and rapid in his cellar evaluation and removal of wine. While he did not manipulate the bottles with the same abandon as Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail, he had an amazingly brisk but delicate manual control of their examination.I can only conclude that Jason Boland, the President of this firm, and an individual with whom I have never communicated, must have an uncanny knack for personnel selection!

Spectrum Wine is the top wine vendor to search for the marketplace for hard to find wines & special wines. Jason, the CEO runs a tight ship & they have 1000s of lots of wine up for auction every week. They take care of your needs 100% as a bidder or seller from top to bottom & always overachieve every time! Never has a wine store or business or auction house ever done any better than Spectrum Wines in my eyes! They have full service warehousing prior to auction & after also. They have retail site, they have huge storage areas in CA for both the auction wines & for your own wine storage! They also handle all the shipping needs of your wines to & from them & have a local pickup service also in Southern CA. I have worked with Christies & Sothebys and others & Spectrum Wine Auctions is A+A+A+A+ even better!

Ive had 3 interactions with Spectrum Wine Auctions...1. Placed bids and won a bottle of Whisky only to find out afterwards that there was no original packaging included. There was no mention of this anywhere on the listing. I emailed Spectrum and was told that this was noted on the auction listing. I looked all over and even took screenshots of the listing. No notes anywhere about the original box not being included.2. Placed bids on and won 2 different items. After the auction ended, I didnt receive any notification about winning or how to pay/receive my items. I called Spectrum to check and was told by the lady on the phone she couldnt explain it and would call me back after speaking with someone. I never got a call back and never got any info about the bids I won.3. I placed a bid and won an item. I even received an email saying I had the highest bid. At the end of the auction, the item shows no bids and no winners?Honestly, what the hell is going on with this companys auction system? Giant waste of time.

The wines at your shop are fairly priced. Not expensive compared to other wine shops out there. This place was the highest level in my area. They strive to provide us the best wine that exceeds our expectations. The place was also very cleaned and organized. I will be recommending you to all of my friends and family!

I am not a wine enthisiast by any stretch..but i wanted to order some as a gift and all i can say is spectrum wine has the absolute best customer service that i think i have ever had the pleasure of receiving. Obviously the owner cares about the company and also the customer to employ and retain great people such as amy who helped me. Its a absolutely refreshing feeling dealing with spectrum wines and i will absolutely order again. The website works great, tons of wine at any price range you like that you would never be able to locate in the midwest. There are people standing by if you have a question before or after your sale. Fyi i noticed in another review a person complained about the shipping cost dont know what they are talking about must of been a competitor because 6 bottles from cali to missouri the shipping was 21 dollars! I look forward to purchasing again.

Im updating this review from 2 to 4 stars because the I was impressed with how responsive Spectrums CEO was to the feedback. Theyve opened up a cheaper shipping option to DC and given me some help with how to identify new listings. It could still be better: folks outside major hubs are still going to pay a ton for shipping, and its not super easy to identify new listings, but progress is progress!____Original review:Ive bought several cases of wine on Spectrum over the past year or so. There are some good deals available if youre careful, but I have two substantial quibbles: 1) Their auctions arent really auctions in the traditional sense. The *vast* majority of the wine in each auction has been listed for *months* - in auction after auction - at the exact same starting bid. When no one offers the opening bid, it just gets re-listed in the next auction. So, turnover is very low overall, and without a filtering mechanism on their site for new listings (or something of that nature), you have to wade through all the overpriced listings that didnt sell every month. 2) Their shipping is way out of line with other auction houses and online vendors. They charge ~$5 per bottle for shipping, which is nuts. Other sites are in the ~$3 per bottle range (or free above a minimum). When Ive contacted them about this, theyve replied, Unfortunately, these are the rates that are provided to us by FedEx and are passed along to our clients. Theyre either being disingenuous or getting a terrible rate from FedEx.If they fix these two issues, Ill adjust this to 5 stars! I very much appreciate their service level and selection, but these problems are too substantial to overlook.

I have been a customer of Spectrum Wine Auctions for a over 5 years. Jason and his team are of the professional and ethical standards. I have both bought and sold wine through Spectrum and I have been 100% satisfied with every transaction. I would highly recommend Spectrum to anyone looking to purchase great wine that has been obtained from well-vetted sources, or that is looking to sell their wine in a fair and competitive manner.-Alex

The staff at Spectrum are not only professional but well versed in all areas of coins and currency. The Experts are a wealth of knowledge in their own area of expertise, be it wine, currency, coins and of course gold and silver.I personally have been conducting business with them for well over 10 years and I live in So Cal and have done comparison shopping for buying and selling. There is no comparison. Big deal, small deal or just asking for some advice there is truly no otherplace I personally would go. Other places might look at you funny if you dont have The mother lode to sell them when you walk in the door. That has not been my experience with Spectrum they were only there to help. You will not be disappointed, but you will be back! Sincerely, Heather Lynn
