Decided I wanted an SUV crossover and the Mazda CX-5 was so highly rated I started at Marin Mazda. Dropped in late in the day w/no appointment. Worked w/Reuben and left with a new CX-5. Got a test drive, looked at options, great selection of vehicles and staff stayed late to accommodate paperwork. Marin Mazda sent a driver to take me to pick up my vehicle the next afternoon and Reuben spent a good amount of time showing me all features - happy to know where to gas up when needed! I absolutely LOVE it and would not hesitate to return!!

Do not buy a car here! My wife and I bought a 2015 Maserati Quattroporte with 43,000 miles beautiful car but we only have had it 4 months. The tire light continue to show low pressure well we just found out that the rims are cracked on the car. wow! Not a very happy customer! Becareful ! Let see if they call me or trying to work something out. Just sent a email to Bill Back and David the finance guy.

Recently bought a new car from Marin Mazda and the entire experience was delightful. Called a day ahead of time to let them know that we would be coming and would like to go for a test drive. Dylan Robinson was ready for us upon arrival and was fantastic to work with. Emil Rustamov was very pleasant & professional for the final pricing negotiation (heads up that they are not a huge dealer but the pricing was VERY close to the huge dealerships in the East Bay & South Bay).The closing was extremely quick and smooth with documents being signed electronically and Dylan even dropped the car off at our house.While dropping off the car Dylan showed us some features we hadnt been aware of and has been available for any questions post sale. Lilly Martinez and the team in the Service Department are very quick and professional (we had some roof rails installed and they were able to get us in and out of there in an hour!).A great experience and highly recommend Marin Mazda!

As we headed toward the showroom entrance, we were met by a member of the Marin Mazda team who noticed us walking through the parking lot and came out to greet us. He asked immediately what he could do to help and offered a test drive of any vehicle of interest to us in the Mazda fleet. His quiet, calm expertise about the Mazda line was enhanced by his no-pressure customer service. No hype. No hard pitch. Just good general information, specific facts as he answered our many questions, and true patience. We walked out of the showroom feeling invited back any time, but without being needled to buy anything. A few days later he contacted us and was assuring in his hands-off way, yet we felt taken care of. In less than a week we called Marin Mazda and arranged a time to come in again, specifically to drive two of the SUVs we liked best. That day we purchased a Mazda CX-30 and drove it home. Great service, worked with salesman Mike V on a new purchase and Mike T in finance. The whole experience was very smooth and they didnt try to upsell or play around with fees. Keep in mind theyre not a huge volume dealer so you shouldnt walk in and expect them to give ludicrous discounts to meet a target.
Bought a BMW m340i here at 2020 Nov. I was offered a gap insurance and extended warranty service(about $4000). I immediately realized I didnt need this service. I asked to cancel this and refund the money. But I havent got my money back for over 5 months. I sent lots of emails and they did not response to me. Also tried to call the financial department, can not get the response.
Trying to give an unbiased review here. Bought a Mazda3 Turbo here. Mike and Emil are very efficient and easy to work with. Mike was also very through when walking me through the functions of the new Mazda app. 5 stars to Mike.I took 1 star off because I feel like the finance team here is a bit sneaky. Ive asked at least twice for the option to pay off the car earlier with no penalty. When I was signing the contract, I was a bit too excited and over my head and I didnt review the contract in detail and throughly. While I admit I am partly at fault, Id also thought after I mentioned the request twice, they would have it down but I was wrong. Now I am stuck with some penalty if I wanted to pay off the car earlier.Overall Id say 3.5 star if I have that option. It is a car dealership and they should and you would expect them to make money. I just hope its more transparent if they cannot give you the option, theyd tell you straight up and not go behind my back like this. Could just be a miscommunicate from their perspective but this is how i feel as a customer.

I’ve emailed a internet salesman Amili/Emili and settle before i went in and everything went smooth. Mike that finalized my paperwork is a cool guy too, funny and likes to joke around but good guy. No hassle pier pressure or anything. Walked out Happy.

I bought a Mazda CX-30 from Marin Mazda. It was the easiest and quickest purchaseI have ever made and I have bought over 15 new cars in the past. We came to a purchase price and a trade in within 10 minutes. No drama. They didn’t have the exact car I wanted in stock but they sourced the car in the next 10 minutes and the paperwork was done in 20 minutes. I came in said hello and an hour later I left with everything complete and came back the next morning and drove off with my new car.

This is run by the same people that ran San Rafael Mitsubishi.This is not the place to go.(1) They sold me a car that had the muffler cut out and poorly welded back with the wrong sized pipes. The resulting air gap between two sized pipes made a loud whistle sound at any rpm above 5k RPM. They said it was a cat back exhaust.(2) Within days of purchase the car also developed a misfire which after spending several thousand dollars trying to remedy I had to walk away.They burned me. Dont let it happen to you too!!!

I have bought my last 2 cars from the folks at Marin Mazda. The people there are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Mike and his staff bent over backward to make sure I was fully informed and got everything I was looking for in a car. Fantastic experience! I was looking to lease a new CX5, and after a stressful encounter at another local Mazda dealer for our last lease, knew there had a better way. Mike and Emil at Marin Mazda were fantastic to work with - they were very responsive via email (my preferred method of contact), sent requested vehicle specs and photos, found the vehicle I wanted, applied all the incentives they could to get to a good price, and even delivered the vehicle to my home where I signed the paperwork. Finally, a dealership who recognizes the way that people want to shop for cars today! Highly recommend.

Was looking to buy a car off of them using TrueCar. The price like normal was over KBB by almost $1000, which isnt unusual. Then I went to their site where I found some crony tactics. They show their price at $5000 over KBB value, then give a $3227 discount to make you feel like you are getting a deal. They were not willing to go to a reasonable price. When I called them out on their tactics, they tried to use Carfax value which is almost always overpriced, especially compared to KBB, which is known to be the most accurate. They even show KBB reviews but wont show their pricing. Before I could reply, they blocked me. If you are going to try to buy from them be ready for them to try to take advantage of you. And in continued conversation, they tried to justify their price by claiming their credit unions and banks dont recognize NADA but in research, found nothing to support this. Contacted their credit union CUDL credit union to confirm. (got an email telling me they use KBB, Black Book and NADA) They are also unaccredited on the Better Business Bureau with a C+ rating. BBB states they have been in business for 50 years. Seems like this has been their regular practice.

Refused to provide shuttle service for me to get home when both my main and spare keys batteries failed, without warning. I had to pay for transportation to get there; the key compartment was too hard to open to replace the button batteries myself and my car wouldnt start. The gentleman in the parts department was excellent, even showed me how to replace the button battery. Thanks.Went to the service desk to request a shuttle home. NOPE. Refused.Really? It was just a three mile drive to my home from San Rafael to Greenbrae. I paid to get there. I just wanted a ride home. No can do.Fend for yourself in a bad area.Thats what sets this company on the low end.Go across the highway, get a better car for a few extra bucks. And most definitely better service, it has to be better than this.Mazda Marin service? Nah, never again.

On the phone they said it would be ok to test drive a used car for serious customers so I drive 1 hour to get there. Then had to drive to another shady place behind a car wash. Why didnt they give me those directions in the first place? Went to the second place, liked the car and asked for a test drive. We only allow test drives for serious customers. We are a trusted dealer and most our customers buy with cash. I have no idea what metric establishes a Serious customer but I sure didnt meet it. I had brought my checkbook, a check list for items on the car and was ready to buy. The next logical step would have been to test drive the car. How can I buy the car without a test drive? The interesting thing is that their customer screening technique worked perfectly! They had accurately predicted that I was not a serious customer and wouldnt buy the car and they were right!They have a very dismal storefront with tight quarters with little or no customer parking. I suppose poor sales do not support a proper business front. Im glad their salesman nipped it in the bud and stopped me from buying from them.

Marin Mazda/Subaru recently sold out to the former Mitsubishi dealer down the street, now called Marin Mazda. I bought two new cars from Marin Mazda/Subaru and always had good service. Initially the new dealer, Marin Mazda, fell short....but all that has changed.Both the service department and the sales department at Marin Mazda are now top notch - amazing improvement in attitude and service. So glad I can now recommend them!

Gave deposit Tuesday jumped on a plane Wednesday afternoon and drove it home that night. Ran into an equipment issue and Mike and I came to a speedy agreement. Very good and honest people! Seems harder to find. This store must have hired them all!
By far the best experience I had at a dealership. Was looking to buy a Mazda CX5 and ended up buying here. Though their price was not the cheapest, the service, staff, and facilities are top class and well worth the price in my opinion. There was no sleazy car sales man BS.They are conveniently located off the freeway in Central San Rafael.Go see Irving, hes the best.He was professional and accommodating from the very start. Had the car washed and cleaned before we got there. Took it on a nice long test drive. He clearly explained all the paperwork and patiently sat by while we dealt with an insurance issue. Offered us coffee and water and was a great host. I cant imagine the process would have gone smoother than at another dealership. He didnt try the BS of quoting a low price and then pushing the financing.After we bought the car, Irving stuck around and gave us a very thorough run through of the car and all its features and operations. Now, nearly a week later, he continues to field questions I have about the car and its operation, top class customer service!The facilities are also top notch, clean, and its clear they take great pride in providing modern, comforting, professional and clean facilities for the customer.

This review is directed JUST to the service department, as I only have limited experience with the sales department:I have somewhat mixed feelings about the service department. On one hand, theyre very friendly and they did a great job on my car. On the other hand, its hard to get in contact with them over the phone. They fixed more than what I needed to be fixed (more than I thought was wrong) and didnt seem to charge me much extra, which is a huge plus! They also cleaned my car and (Im assuming) washed my car at the car wash down the street (but if they washed my car themselves, they did a fantastic job in such a short time!).I cant rate them 5 stars because of how hard it is to reach them over the phone. Well, to be honest, thats not the entire reason. The other reason is that when I came in a few years ago for a recall repair (my 2013 CX-5 had a minor recall where something in the tailgate had to be replaced), I was told that I dont need to do it. I was told by a service technician that the recall wasnt necessary, that I was making to big a deal about it. Ya, I know it wasnt a huge safety issue and that it only effected a very small percentage of vehicles, but to be told that the recall wasnt something I should get check out was a little insulting, not only to me (someone who would rather get something checked instead of possibly getting hurt), but also to the people who were injured because of the faulty part. The way the guy said it was like he was telling me to get lost. Its not my fault Mazda built a vehicle with only one minor safety issue that takes 5 minutes to fix. Did I mention it took them 5 minutes to fix?Anyway, thats my rant. If it werent for the guy who told me to not get my car fixed due to a recall, Id rate this place 5 stars easy.

My service experience was wonderful. Took my car in on a Saturday, Travis helped me out. He went over what was to be done and also checked out two things on the car I had noticed. I was offered a drop off and pick up when my car was done, enabling me not to have to rely on friends to drop off and pick up my car. Also after my car was done it had been washed and spot vacuumed

After agreeing to terms on a used vehicle with the salesman it was sold to the owners neighbor for a better offer. This was after numerous unanswered texts and messages with the salesman while I was waiting for it to be detailed. They had arranged financing and all I needed to do was bring in a check for the downpayment on pick up day. Very disappointed how this was handled.
4 stars for the out of date showroom. It was a bit dumpy to be honest, however the salesman and finance folks were professional friendly and efficient. We made a good deal the same day and left satisfied.

Just moved to Marin County and my Mazda CX-5 was due for service so I dropped it here for maintenance and smog check. Great service, honest people. They immediately pulled all the information about the car based on my VIN and applied the pre-paid maintenance plan (trust me, that was not my experience at every Mazda dealership I have visited, I had several experience were they either omit this part or even lie about your coverage). An invoice was printed upfront to show me what I would owe. They even cleaned the car and provided me with a Uber ride. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and I will be back (including when the time will come for me to replace my car). One thing to note: as it is to be expected for the bay area, the place is pretty small and the service took a few hours. Again, this is kind of standard around here - and if you have ever been to the Mazda dealership in San Francisco, its minuscule and it can take up to 4 days (yes, DAYS) to be serviced - so I am not complaining. Space is expensive in the Bay...
We bought a new Impreza for our daughter when she graduated from college in June 2015. It recently came due for its 6000 mi oil change. Daughter chose to take it to Marin Mazda Subaru because it was near her work. I read on-line reviews of this maintenance operation so warned her that it would be expensive, about $80. She had the work done yesterday and sent me a copy of the invoice--$180!I suspect that the oil was competently changed, but my daughter was charged $128 for service that included clean battery, top off fluids, and multi-point inspection. I am a life-long car guy. I can spot this type of invoice-padding BS a mile off. I recommend that no one go to this dealership for maintenance.

The level of disrespect shown to customer service people in ALL fields is out of control.We can hide behind anonymous reviews but what if the reviewers actions & words were insulting, rude and beyond compare? The employees go to work everyday to do the best job they can, with integrity and resolve.
Stopped by because we lost our van key on vacation, and needed a new one made to get in our van at the airport. They couldnt make one because it has to be programmed, but the associate at the parts counter was able to tell us how to handle it. He was very pleasant and very sympathetic. Only dinged a star because we couldnt get the key
I bought this Range Rover from this car lot and the car was not as clean as it should be and the tires were gone so I paid more than $400 for detailed and bought new tires.Im reaching out for them to help me pay the money I paid for all that but they seems like they dont care and not bother to help me.Tony the sales guy who helped me seems helpful but Sam the young fellow who did my paper work never returns my call.Im upset and regretted to make business with these kind of people.

Horrible customer service from the service department. Got the bait and switch price. They told me that the original price would be $650 and they called me four days later saying its going to be $2800. Clearly they know what they are doing?!? Also trying get Eric on the phone is just pathetic. Saying they will call back and then never do. No one cares here and Im convinced that Robert in Service who picks up the phone can and will put this business out of business.
My wife asked an employee to fill up the wind-shield-wiper fluid before a routine maintenance. She didnt understand that they fill it as part of the routine maintenance. This probably created some confusion and somehow she ended up signing for new wind-shield wiper blades by mistake.Ron, the service manager, has offered to work on figuring out the miscommunication. This is nice because if it was a bigger issue, then I would be happy to have the manager sorting it out.
Customer service is good but, 2 1/2 hr to change brake pads? The mechanics wife and kid came to Visit. Unbelievable!
Took our car here because of a recall on the airbags, it was supposed to take no longer this 1 day. It ended up being there for almost 1 month. They messed up the gas hose, needed to replace the gas pump, and still the car hasnt been the same since then!!! They put the blame on each other, I had to get in contact with the general manager and ended up with a rental car. I wasted my time here. Unfortunately there is no other Mazda service center around. I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody.
I took my girlfriend to buy a 2018 Mazda cx5 and she HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT. THEY REFUSE TO DOCUMENT THE ISSUSES YET STILL EXPECT HER TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK AND FORTH KNIWING THAT ONE OF THE MAZDA DEALERS THEY HAD SENT ME TO ONE OF THEM NOTICED AND BOTH HIM AND HER TOOK PICTURES OF THE REAR MAIN SEAL LEAKING OIL. ALSO GAS IN THE MOTOR. EVEN THOUGH THEY BOTH TOOK PHOTOS HE REFUSED TO DOCUMENT...THAT IS JUST THE BEGINING OF A LIST OF PROBLEMS THAT ARE WRONG WITH THE CAR. I AM FORCED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION AND AM SO TIRED OF THERE LIES.....PLEASE DONT EVER BUY A MAZDA ..
The service has really gone downhill. The people and service used to be wonderful years ago. Now they just dont seem to care. I bought my car in for an oil change and they did the next major servicing on it which wasnt even due for over 5,000 miles. They didnt even tell me - just kept me waiting for a few hours in the waiting room while I thought they were busy. And then when I complained they didnt care. They just told me that Subaru is getting away from interim oil changes - which didnt even address my problem. Sad.
Called about a pre-owned vehicle and was told it was available and ready for a test drive. Drove 40 mins to get there and was then told the car had been sent out for service a week earlier and was not on the lot. Not cool, to say the least.
I was recently very disappointed with my interaction with Marin Mazdas service department. The lid/armrest of my 2014 Mazda 3, which I bought at their previous location, had come loose. I looked up the issue on line and found out there was a service bulletin covering my VIN # and this very problem of pins coming loose in the lid hinge. I called their service department, the gentleman I talked with could not have been less interested. He was not willing to look up the service bulletin, stating that he could not be sure that was the problem. The only remedy he suggested was bringing the car in to diagnose the problem, for which he would charge me a minimum of $159 for looking at it.After doing more research on line I learned from another Mazda owner that the back panel of the console could be pulled off and the pins pushed back in. With this information I was able to remedy the problem in ten minutes.To me, this interaction does not demonstrate a high level of customer care or service and even though I enjoy my Mazda, does not motivate me to consider this dealership when purchasing my next car.

Tried to order a part online from the service department to repair my vehicle. Stated Free Shipping on the listing. Once I ordered and payed with Paypal, their parts department would not ship it because it was to expensive and tied my money up in Paypal that I needed to fix my car for a week! They are obviously not capable of being held to their word. Wouldnt even answer email. Avoid unless you want to be lied to in plain print.
