I’ve only lived here a few days so far but I already love it here and I’m so excited for this to be my home for the next 3 years!! It is so much better than living in a tiny dorm, like I did last year. My favorite hang out spot is the pool. The view is breathtaking!!! And I find the proximity to the music building to be very convenient. I’m a music major, so it’s nice that the music building, where a majority of my classes are, is a short walk away. My dorm was not so close to the music building and it was also a really uphill walk, which I found very inconvenient. Not anymore!! Now I can get to my classes easily and efficiently.
The best leasing experience of my lifetime was with Vie Lofts at San Marcos because the staff there are the best that I have encountered! Derek, Brooke, and the entire crew - especially maintenance - really take care of the tenants. I was living there during the infamous Feb 2021 freeze and don’t think I would’ve survived anywhere else, let alone have my sanity intact as well. Every day some Vie Lofts staff checked to make sure the tenants had food and water. I recommend anyone looking for themselves or their loved ones check out Vie Lofts as it’s the best community in San Marcos, TX! Parents who are sending their children to Texas State University should make every effort to get them in Vie Lofts because they will be well cared for.
I have really enjoyed staying at vie lofts. The apartments are well taken care of and updated. The best thing is how clean the hallways are! At other student apartment complexes I’ve lived at in San Marcos, most of their hallways are usually filled with dog pee and poop
Extremely nice apartment complex. recently remodeled so everything looks very modern and the staff are all great and super friendly. the amenities are amazing too and i can say i would recommend this to anyone looking for a new place to move to! the view from the pool is a huge plus as it is undoubtedly one of the best views in san marcos!
I only had a short 3 month stay with Vie but it was comfortable and convenient. They allowed me to stay there temporarily while I waited for the apartment complex I originally signed with to finish construction. In hindsight, I wish I would’ve signed with Vie from the beginning. It’s in a great location and has a very hospitable staff. Overall, a very recommendable apartment complex
I had a great experience signing with Diego! Truly a joy to work with- this is a beautiful complex & definitely worth your time checking out!---After a year of living here I can truly say this was my favorite apartment I have ever lived in. The amenities are always clean/ spotless. I cannot remember a time when something was dirty. The infinite pool over looking trees and the Texas State campus is truly beautiful and so relaxing to sit at after a long day. Whenever I had a maintenance request it was fixed either that day or the next. My actual apartment was lovely and modern, the amenities were beautiful and new. I had a wonderful experience with the staff. When I needed special accommodations they were nice and able to oblige. Even going to get a package would make my day because the staff always had a smile on their face and had small conversations with me and made me feel like I was important. I cannot talk highly enough of this apartment complex. If you are looking to sign a lease please look into Vie Lofts because you will not be disappointed :)
Great location, as a student without a car, it is very helpful to be a walking minute away from campus. There are also many good restaurants within walking distance. The office staff is great and have always been very kind and helpful. I recommend Vie to any student looking for a good place close to campus.
Great place! Lived here for 3 years! Lots of free stuff!
I’ve been at Vie Lofts starting fall semester of 2019, I was living out of a hotel for a bout a month due to safety issues with the building (they are now fixed). Though most of the expenses were paid for, it was difficult adjusting to that lifestyle. It’s nice to be back in my apartment, the management and staff are always super nice and attentive. I enjoy living here but the beginning really sucked.
I have been a resident at VIE for about two months now and I love this place! It is very luxurious, everything is very aesthetic and clean! I love the study spaces, the gym, and the pool area. I wish the pool was heated. Its pretty small, so I dont see why not. Other than that, my neighbors above me are pretty loud steppers, but I have gotten used to it! For a college town, this place is awesome!
Living at Vie Lofts has been a blast these past couple of months, i’ve met so many residents and staff here that have made this experience memorable. The (Vie)w of campus and San Marcos is beautiful any time of day! The location is perfect for those who enjoys nature and loves to walk anywhere close by.
I took a tour today and the Leasing Consultant, Brooke, that gave the tour was rude and impatient. The apartments are very nice looking but the LC took away from the appeal.
Although the beginning was rough of this year, the management has been really helpful with everything and the distance to campus is super convenient. The building itself is really nice too. I enjoy living here and often use the other spaces (gym, study rooms)
Despite all the bad luck we had Fall 2019, the staff is always willing to work with us. The renovations are beautiful & you can’t beat the walk to campus compared to other apartments. I love Amanda, she is such a sweet person.
The Vie Lofts are amazing.. breaks my heart to see really bad reviews about this place and it’s staff.. I can tell you that the management and team members have been very awesome and Sonnie is just as great big smile and the great atmosphere definitely made it feel like home!!! Keep up the great work
Honestly, if I could give half a star I would. Do yourself a huge favor and don’t sign here. First of all, you pay way to much for what you’re getting. My dryer was broken, it took a month to fix. My microwave broke, which they said was happening in several other units, and took about a month and a half to two months to fix. I’ve had my water stop working three times this week at the most random and inconvenient times of day. The fob locks on my apartment exterior door stopped working and apparently replacing it with a bedroom door lock and not giving us a key is an adequate solution. They told us we could get a key from the office but when my roommates and I went to get them, they said they didn’t have them and we’d just have to wait. It’s been months. Also, the elevator is consistently breaking down. After you’ve signed, they pretty much stop caring about being nice or anything working properly. SAVE YOURSELF, JUST WALK AWAY!!
I signed on at Vie before the Fall 2019 semester, when the current management was still new. There were some hiccups, and a lot of things that were out of managements control. However, I really feel like they did right by us by putting us up in hotels and reimbursing our expenditures. The new management is really working hard to give us a good experience, and it feels like they’re improving the Vie Experience every day! I’m excited for the coming future, and I really do love living here! Updated amenities, renovated spaces, a team that knows your name, and the location can’t be beat!
The management here is amazing! I went to their event once and a co worker accidentally threw away my food. But she was so nice and gave me a gift card to buy another. Would definitely recommend working here
Smoke alarms went off at 3:00am 04/11/2019. Residents evacuated and waited...and waited...and waited for fire department response. Finally residents started calling 911. Surprise! The fire alarms arent linked to fire department or monitored at all....and the management staff that live on property didnt know that even though previous residents report they found out the alarms werent monitored when there was an actual fire approximately a year ago. No fire was found in this case, when the fire department actually arrive. The building was cleared for re-entry about 5am. At which point, management did not turn the elevators back on and everyone got to trudge up the stairs after two hours outside with anxious pets in the wee hours of the morning. Thank god no one was hurt. Take away, management under the new owners is still less than stellar and THE ALARM SYSTEM IS NOT MONITORED. If there is an emergency and someone needs to be rescued from the tip top of this ramshackle building, there will be no response...Save your kids lives and spend your money on safe residency. Rent elsewhere.
I know that there are unhappy people with this place, but here is my honest review. Some of the issues with the elevator and roommates that people may have come with living in student housing. If you dont take care of your appliances of course theyre not gonna last. I was lucky to be paired with roommates who similar to me in keeping things clean and organized. So i guess their roommate system worked for me.Most of the bad that I have to say are about decisions made for construction and about money because I pay for things myself and live on a graduate student stipend. The Good:The staff, the people who actually work on site- I really like. They keep you updated and actually try to build relationships with you as residents.I know this SHOULD be expected of any place you sign at, but they hired some nice people (.+5)The events they hold have always have give always or food. The hours go till 6pm, and in my experience they will respond in time to your emails about anything. The renovated areas are nice and modern. I only wish more renovations were made to the actual rooms (besides, carpets and ceiling fans). Its got a really nice view of the sunset, and I really like how close it is to campus. I can sleep a little longer and catch the 14 bus loop up to the rec. + Access to the trails! The Bad:(-1 Star Emergency Management + Higher Ups ) This really left a lasting impression on me. Everyone had a bad time with the evacuation and I cant say I felt like that was handled well. Unfortunately, that docks it down a star. We were waiting for reimbursement checks too long after we were ALL placed back in (I waited 2 months). The shuttle system that was put in place didnt work as effectively as students needed it to. I did not have a car at the time and relied heavily on my savings to do this. So not getting the second half of my reimbursement til after Christmas put me under a lot of stress during finals. I hope nothing like this happens again and if it does that Higher-Ups take this into consideration.(-.5 Star $$$ ) I signed here because I needed to be closer to campus and was expecting a pay raise so I knew rent was going to be a bit much for a four person apartment but still... That being said, the security deposit and rent for pets is a bit much especially if the furniture in the unit that wasnt all that new,+ a kitchen that does not match the model and is too small for 4 people. Also, I already live here, the garage is below the building and not an actual lot. I have to pay extra on top of rent so that my car wont be towed at a building that I live at (this is what irritates me most).
Ella Lofts is such a unique community! The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help me with my needs. I love how interactive they are with their residents - there are plenty of events held monthly that establish a well rounded sense of community. The rooms are super clean, well kept and home-y. All the amenities are kept up well and its SUCH a benefit to be so close to campus! Love this community!
The staff are friendly and upbeat, and willing to work with you. Thank you so much guys for your hard work! I can not wait to start leaving here! I know its going to make my college experience 100% better. (I wrote this before I moved in). Over all my experience with Ella Lofts have been up and down but not with the staff or the management, they are still very caring and want to know what they can do for you. When the new company took over things have changed for the better. I wish my fellow residents took care of public space like not mark on the elevator walls or have their animals pee in it (I understand accidents happen). Not leaving trash every where but the staff does a good job on the weekdays to keep it clean. I would release with the price wasnt so high for a two bedroom. My first semester I couldnt really enjoy my space and a bad roommate match up, but I do not believe thats the apartment fault, sometimes it happens. Still a good place to live. I also do not think this is a pet friendly place due to the lack or grass and sometimes the elevator breaks so if you have a big or little dog its hard for them to walk all those flights of stairs.
I have been here since 2016 and I can say that if I ever had any problems they were always taken care of. The location to campus is great and Diana & Victoria has assisted me in all of my needs. I enjoy the times that I walk into the office because I know their personalities will brighten up my day.
The staff was extremely collaborative, great communication, quick to respond and call back, REALLY willing to work with you - especially appreciated Diego and Derrick! Looking forward to next year :)
Ive lived at Ella Lofts for two years. I love everything about it, its so convenient being so close to campus, having the coffee shop Summer Moon below is an awesome place to study along with the study rooms. I love the gym, the clubhouse and its awesome free coffee. Having everything so close in the building is exactly what I was looking for. The pool and the views from this apartment is like nothing else in San Marcos. Ella Lofts is a great place to live, I highly recommend these apartments. The apartments themselves are unique and fun, I absolutely love the grey walls its fresh and much more appealing than plain white walls. The management team is extremely helpful along with the maintenance team. Great amenities with an awesome staff that is always having something for us going on, like tonight, they have set up a bonfire bash for the tenets. Always something fun going on here. Its a great place to live
A great place to stay with a caring staff to help in whichever way they can. Amazing sunset views and perfect location to stay, with it being in the middle of campus.
Beyond disappointed, Despite the great location and apartment size there is little to desire. From the moment I leased there were problems, my first set of roommates two had animals and two were allergic and had marked that they didnt want animals leading to having to be reassigned to a new room. The pool was closed most the year for a reason not disclosed to the residents. They didn’t take care of it and it was a dark mold green for most of June. The gym is has no strength equipment and the treadmills are often broken(they do say this will be fixed). The some of the office staff was incredibly friendly but lost my packages that were delivered more than once. Even after new management packages were often confused and marked as picked up when I didn’t receive them. With the staff there were four management changes and none of them keep up with the on going problems due to this many issues were passed along and never resolved( emails sent were never replied to, conversations that had no action taken upon). There is next to no guest parking and the leasing manager states that you “ hope for the best and keep an eye out”. The mattresses get sinkholes in them within the first four months When my walls started to turn colors was told by the leasing management that it was common wear and happens when things though the walls though I would be charged for them to repaint my walls. However my walls were changing color at places I never touched ( under the bed, behind the TV, behind the door). The online payment portal was not in service four two months and I was told by a leasing manager that if that was my only option that I would “ just have to figure it out”. I have never met such an unhelpful, and rude management team. The elevator is often out of service and the hallways often have animal feces in them to add on the trash shoot is always clogged up leaving piles of trash in the hallway for days. My roommates and I had to start recording the conversations to ensure there were no lies told because she was telling the roommate different things or later going back on their word. Instead of doing renovations during the two weeks that everyone moves out they did them in the middle of the summer semester. Not only that, but the times set for them to come in they came two hours early. In addition took all day long, we were told that “you can stay in your apartment” but due to all the stuff and the gutted rooms there was no place for us to stay. The pros of Ella/Vie lofts are that it is close to campus,if you have no apartment problems, and some (few- the maintenance crew of the staff are very friendly, the rooms are all a nice size and the internet provider is extremely helpful where there are issues. The new management was a light at the end of the tunnel that turned out to be a train. I have never been so disappointed by a complex that had appeared so friendly and helpful. The last thing to keep in mind is all the positive reviews happen at the same time due to the promotions that managers run( special offers, gift cards, and rewards) Save yourself the money and time by moving somewhere else.
Super close to the middle of campus with really nice and spacious living areas. The new management is super nice and really helpful. The maintenance man is really nice as well and will always try to get your issues fixed ASAP.
Diana has made my stay at Vie Lofts great! Everyday she saw me she tried to get me to renew. She offered me concessions and even had the property manager speak to me about renewing. I did not renew due to price however, if I did it would’ve been because of Diana. Not only is she entertaining and personable every time I walk into the office, she also is insane with selling people. She’s honest and willing to help everyone! Great customer service!
I visited Vie recently and was toured by Diana and she was awesome! She made the tour entertaining and shes funny! We even played pool! I am deciding between Vie and another property but if I sign at Vie it would be because of Diana! If you visit here make sure you tour with her!
DO NOT LIVE HERE! IF I COULD RATE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD.Pros: (very few)- Great location, very close to campus- Great view from room (if facing campus)- Espresso/ Coffee Machine- Staff are nice and friendly- Beds are comfortableCons (TOO MANY TO KEEP TRACK OF)- Slowest Elevator Ive seen in my life; Also always broken- No carts to bring groceries to room.- Very dirty all around. (elevator, hallways, parking garage, etc.)- Everything provided in your apartment is low quality. (literary everything breaks or doesnt work)- No ceiling fans in rooms (odd and cheap)- Sinks in bathrooms dont drain and are constantly clogged. The sinks have a U-shape so sediment and toothpaste sits in middle.- Sink water smells like legit sewage or rotten eggs.- Staff is very limited and dont seem to do much. They plan very few lame events throughout the school year that no one shows up to.- Gym is by far the smallest and most barren workout area Ive ever seen. Literary only a few treadmills, dumbbells up to fifty pounds (one pair of each), one bench, and one smith machine.- Residents in building are fairly odd and not friendly (rather rude)In conclusion, DO NOT LEAVE HERE UNLESS IT IS YOUR LAST RESORT.Not trying to be disrespectful or rude but simply honest. In my opinion, I wasted my money living here.
I’ve lived here for two years and I was fine with all the bad things about this complex until this weekend when me and my roommates were forced to move out of our rooms two weeks before move out so they could “renovate” our rooms with uneven wood floors for the next round of unfortunate tenants. The best part of it all was that if we didn’t move out their team would remove our stuff for us, included in the email was “we are not responsible for any missing or damaged property”. This meaning they throw everything in your bathroom/bathtub. One of our roommates was out of town for the event and to no surprise all of his belongings were thrown in his bathroom including posters, curtains, you name it. Not to mention the consistent fire alarms that happen at all hours of the day or night and the one elevator that is down around a day a week . Make sure you request they replace your air filters too because they won’t unless you do and even then it will take a while. Goodbye vie lofts learn how to treat your tenants.
I’ve lived here for two years so far and I love it! The view of San Marcos is perfect from all the rooms! Great outdoor space and pool! Perfect walk to campus!
Vie Lofts is a great place for student housing! It is walking distance to campus and several local eateries. There are fun resident events that are open for everyone and the staff is very friendly.
Since Ella Lofts has recently gotten a new management, I have really enjoyed living here! The staff is very friendly and willing to help with whatever you need. I love the social events that they have recently been throwing. The building is walking distance from campus and it is very convenient to not have to wait for any bus. Our bedrooms are the perfect size and we have very spacious bathrooms, the only downside is that there arent any ceiling fans :/
Ella lofts has really changed things up since new management. They are really caring more about residents and having better resident functions! Im glad to see they are getting better and the location is amazing! One of the many things I will miss when I leave
Ella Lofts is definitely a great place to live. So far it is my first year living here and I absolutely love it. It’s very close to campus. There is really friendly people that work here & if you put a work order in they are done ASAP. There are many little restaurants nearby which is really convenient also.
I would rate Ella Lofts now Vie Lofts less than a 1-star if the system would allow. Make sure if you rent that you do not get apartment 305-D because the AC does not work properly and they refuse to fix it. They even have the nerve to try and charge electrical overages when they know the AC in this unit runs nonstop. They are adding a ceiling fan to disguise the fact that the AC does not work but they have yet to fix the AC problems. Vie is trying to make the complex better but they are very unprofessional. They entered my unit to do renovations for next semester (fall 2019) and had the nerve to move my belongings while I was out of town. Additionally, when they left the apartment they left my door unlocked for anyone to loot and steal my stuff. They conveniently sent an email stating they were not responsible for any belongings that were missing or stolen during their renovations. If you are sending your student to Texas State University for an education, this is the last place you want to allow them to live. This complex is a hot mess and a total distraction from the education of students.
Vie lofts has a beautiful interior, a great community, and work orders are completed fast. The infinite pool is my favorite!
The one elevator is consistently out of service. The climate control system in the apartments themselves doesn’t function well. The doors to the apartments malfunction regularly. There is no climate control in the enclosed interior stair wells. The office staff is rude, condescending, and full of excuses in regards to maintenance requests. Windows leak during the rain and apparently there “aren’t enough complaints” to warrant the outside repairs necessary to resolve the issue. Despite the maintenance person himself reporting that five different units on the same side of the building have put in the same work order request. In the five months she has lived there, my daughters washing machine, dryer, freezer, and microwave have all gone out and had to be replaced. All required several maintenance requests and long waiting periods for replacement that ended up costing us money and time. The freezer still hasn’t been repaired or replaced. They won’t remove the worn out, uncomfortable bed that came with the shabbily furnished apartment so we can replace it with something comfortable to sleep on. Slum Lord management and constant maintenance issues are completely unacceptable for a place that is making nearly $3,000 a month on a fully leased four bedroom apartment. Unless you expect the hang out by the pool every day of your year long lease, save yourself the headache. Step away from the party deck and the tanning bed. Find a place that offers real amenities of the day to day kind and a management and maintenance staff that can actually maintain something.
Such a lovely complex. The study rooms are spacious, that coffee machine ruled and the gym seems loaded up with great equipment. I am definitely thinking of signing here.
Ella Lofts is a wonderful place to stay and very close to campus. The staff is very nice, as they always have resident events for us. They are very fast on completing maintenance request and pet friendly. If you are looking for a good place that’s also close to campus, then sign here!
The staff is super friendly, and helpful. Maintenance is always done quickly, and well. They clean the apartment complex weekly so its ever dirty, and have really fun events! I love living here!
I love this place. Its clean, the staff are great and I feel totally safe all the time. I love that its gated and pet friendly and if theres ever an issue all it takes is a simple phone call.
Move in at your own exposure.Do your research before hand, and trust in your own judgement. While the building has seen new renovations as a result of the new management, the management is very poor in service and communication. I cannot express all of the consistent inconveniences that I have faced living here, even before hand when attempting to obtain my lease. I have lived here for a little over a year now and needless to say I did not resign on my lease and made the decision to not do so shortly after moving in.
I toured Ella while helping my friend apartment hunt. Immediately it’s clean, spacious club house caught my eye. Our visit was made even better with the help of Kimbria. You could tell the people at Ella genuinely care about taking care of you. If I was looking for somewhere to live, I would choose Ella!
My boyfriend used to live here and I love it! It’s super spacious and has a great clubhouse! It’s close to campus, which is very convenient!
As one of the 162 residents who were evacuated, dont stay here. Location is fantastic, but i had no AC for 3 weeks in September. Also elevator is extremely slow, hot, and usually out of service.
10/10 would recommend living here. Location wise, it cannot be beat. It is a two minute walk from campus, has an awesome view from the pool deck and the office team is always there to make sure you have the best experience possible. The new management is the biggest positive turning point of the apartment complex they definitely want to make sure all of their residents are happy where they are. I have never had an issue here at Ella lofts.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at Vie Lofts. Dianna was so helpful today with my paperwork! Such friendly staff members.
I recently moved in today and the property wasn’t ready yet and I don’t live close, but Diana really help me and she was working really hard to clean and get me moved in the next day, and she help me get hotel. She was also helping they residents while helping me, she definitely needs a raise.
For anyone with an LTC, stay away from this apartment. They will not make any exceptions for possible new residents with their LTCs. Do not waste your time even driving to the apartments.
This is my second year at Ella and it will definitely be my last. The new leasing agents/manager are not friendly like they were last year. They reached out concerned that I didnt have a good perception of them so I responded with my concerns and its been 2 weeks without any form of response or acknowledgement. After using your FOB key in at least 1-3 different doorways to access your apartment, the front doors do not have peepholes on them, which personally feels like a safety issue to me. The parking lot is a joke, the spaces are essentially all compact or reserved for VIP residents. They also no longer have guest parking so your guests have to fend for themselves and be lucky to get a spot. The only elevator they have has been broken for 3 weeks. The stairwells have just recently been cleaned but typically are covered in trash and dog feces. Their dog policy is pathetic and management does nothing substantial about fixing it. Trash chutes are usually always full. The dishwashers are useless and management says its because students dont understand the purpose of them. (Literally they sent an email explaining the definition of a dishwasher.) The water here has insanely high amounts of calcium deposits in it. The gym was supposed to be upgraded this year and it definitely did not. The free coffee machine in the lounge never works. The computer lab also never works. Its a good thing we are so close to campus because you should expect to always have to walk to Alkek to print something. I would never recommend anyone to spend what they are asking to live here. Ending on the only positive reason to live here: its relatively new and close to campus.
I always thought the office staff was nice, even since the beginning. Personally Ive had no issues living here. Its a short walk away from campus, just a few minutes. They do regular maintenance on the building and its nice to see the effort.
I love living here! The place is so nice, and the new events they are throwing are so much fun! The new leasing manager, Luisa, is so nice and has helped really make this place even better! I would recommend this place to everyone!
Avoid this place like the plague. If there were negative stars I would use them because the cons drastically outnumber the pros.Pros- close proximity to campus- Near a multitude of restaurants- Comfortable mattresses- Great ceiling fan- Welcoming managementCons: fair warning this is an extensive list of cons, and there are far too many to list in a single review.- The day I moved in I noticed deep red wine and black stains on the carpet.- my roommate had the unfortunate experience of finding mold in her bathroom on move -in day. Management supplied her with gloves and told her to clean it herself.- Water once smelled like rotten eggs, but since then, it is undrinkable due tochlorine saturation. I was concerned about having long term medical effects from drinking this water. It tastes awful.- Bathroom sinks do not drain well due to the thoughtlessness in architectural design. The U-shaped sinks cause sediment and toothpaste residue to just settle at the bottom of the sink. The shape hinders the water flow from rinsing the basin clean. It’s disgusting.- Appliances are constantly breaking or already broken. Management takes a long time to fix or replace them.-There is no peep hole in the door. If you like answering your door without confirming who is on the other side, this is the place to be.- I was extremely excited to get wood flooring in my bedroom because of the state of my carpet, but this wood flooring must be low-quality because each weekend I vacuum and Swiffer the floor and within two days my floor is so repulsive looking and feeling I cannot walk bare-footed in my bedroom.- While I was excited to get wood flooring, the whole ordeal was exhausting and unorganized. I had to move my belongings to the common area. I have the smallest floor plan offered which means belongings from 4 different roommates clogged up the common area for days because the installment schedule was continuously changing.- Although I was excited for the new floor, other residents were rightfully upset because the lease states that renovations will not be done in the unit when a resident is living there. Management had the audacity to frame the installation of new flooring as a favor to these residents when it turned out to be a huge inconvenience.- the cleanliness of the complex is embarrassing. A single person is charged with cleaning the entire place. The stairs by my unit have a huge bug, dog poop stain, and trash piling up for the last 2 months. No one has touched this stairwell.-Elevator is a joke. It’s dirty and foul. It breaks every few weeks and let’s just say, you are better off taking the nasty stairs because it’s so slow.- I was genuinely pumped to move in here, but many of the amenities are over exaggerated. The gym is barren, and classes have not been offered for several months. The printer has been out-of-service, and they will not repair it despite complaints. The pool has been out of commission for over a month.- The model room doesn’t remotely resemble most of the floor plans offered. It is the largest, most spacious, and expensive floor plan offered. Not an accurate representation of most of the floor plans offered- Management is diabolical and calculating. It is move-out/move in time. The hallways were only cleaned to entice new residents and some of their paying parents. The area to wait for the elevator on the 2nd floor where parents and residents must go to reach their new apartment was not previously air-conditioned neither were the hallways. Management works to make the place appear more welcoming than it actually is during the year.- The office area and lounge future residents see on the tour always looks inviting even the stairs that separates the two places are spotless. Complete misrepresentation of the entire complexIn essence Vie Lofts is a scam. DO NOT sign here unless you have no other option!!!!!
I was living out a hotel for two months while they fixed the staircases that werent up to code. It was a terrible, dont sign here.
The apts are very nice...furnished, including a flat screen, endless pool thats beautiful. Being 2-3 minutes walking distance from the school makes Ella a wonderful choice to live. The new management team has done an excellent job on all the tenant activities the are having. They are taking care of business and making the place a great place to live.
I absolutely love Ella lofts! The location is very convenient, just a 10 minute walk to my classes, also the style is very new and modern. I couldnt ask for a better apartment complex!! :)
The garage and stairs could definitely use some love but the apartment itself is very nice, and staff is very friendly and open to suggestions.
I dont even live here my boyfriend does but I stay the night a lot. Truly the worst complex Ive ever had the displeasure of being in. First off the maintenance woman is very condescending, if you do even the smallest thing wrong she talks to you as if you arent an adult, shes lucky I didnt report her. Second the complex itself was built terribly, the floors are uneven so if you walk wrong or stand in the wrong place while someone else is walking youll get motion sickness. The water doesnt get as hot as it needs to in either the kitchen or bathroom sinks. The so-called furnished apartments are cheap furniture that is really gross and extremely uncomfortable to use. I thank god my boyfriend has decided that 2 years there was more than enough to last a lifetime and when his lease is up this summer we are moving in together away from that pathetic excuse for an apartment complex. Do NOT move here people! I stay here a few times a week and I would never even consider it if my boyfriend didnt live here. This is a jail. Not apartments.
Nice place with a cozy modern feeling. Had a great experience and would highly recommend this to anyone else!!
The new management is super proactive and helpful. I love living here! They really spoil their residents!
Being completely honest, the only good thing about this place is the location to campus and most of the staff is friendly.IF YOU HAVE A DOG YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE. THERE IS NO WHERE FOR YOUR DOG TO RUN AROUND/ GO TO THE BATHROOM. Not pet friendly at all. This place was built very quickly and cheaply. Many things are not what was expected; only one elevator, the VIP deal is not what we get, the furniture is cheap, NO fan in rooms, no walk in shower, tiny rooms/closets, gym does not have much, dog poop/pee every where, no paper in printer room, coffee machine never works, always damage to the property, no guest parking and so many more things.I wish this place worked out for myself as well as my roommates, but no one seems to like it here so we will be leaving.
So far, Ella Lofts has showed how much they truly care for their residents and future residents. And the amount of care, has been greater than Ive ever experienced before! So good job! - 5 stars
Super awesome location across from campus and the apartments look nice. But they are poorly lit, doors and other things in the apartment break or go wrong all the time, they don’t want to replace the scanner to get into our apartment so we never lock it when we leave. Thinnest walls of anywhere I’ve lived, the elevator breaks literally all the time and becomes inconvenient for those of us on the 5th and 6th floors. The fire alarms go off in the middle of the night for no reason more often than they should. They are ear piercing and eventually an actual fire will happen and no one will take it seriously. Excellent study spaces, beautiful clubhouse. The dog waste bins outside are never emptied so poop just collects. There is always something wrong with the printer in the computer lab. New Management is making changes. They are great and I see hope in the future of Vie Lofts
Honestly, this is the best apartment I ever had. The only thing I can critique them on is they raised the price (which it’s alreaty pretty pricey to begin with) and the resident events could be done bigger. Maintenance always fixed things quickly, the staff gets things done and you feel it when they genuinely care about your concerns. All i’d say is they need enough parking, figure out a way to sound proof the pool area that most of the complex sits around
I like living here. It is close to campus and the office staff is super nice. The only downside I can think of is that there is only one elevator and it gets to be pretty slow sometimes
Great experience working with the staff in the leasing office. Diana and Precilla were amazing they were sxtreamly helpful and even stayed with me 2 hours after they closed so I can finish my paperwork. I’ve never been to a leasing office and seen the level of attentivess Diana had not only to me but to every resident that came in.
Awesome place! Super clean great location and super helpful staff!
*Edited review 4 mo later than below, from 1 star to 4:- I believe the new management (namely Hilda) will do wonders with the overall running of the newly-named Vie Lofts. She recently helped us with a problem and made sure the process was seamless - all with a nice, helpful attitude. It appears she does care and wants the co to do much better. Thank you, Hilda. :-) So the review below is for Ella Lofts (pre February ‘19).. Lots of mis-management meant blocked trash chutes, construction workers entering when unauthorized, broken coffee machine & filthy communal kitchen most days, only one key fob given and no dog walkers allowed in to walk his dog (making life difficult). Pool is always closed. Substantial extra charges for everything such as paying online and having a pet. They cannot keep staff and cannot find people to work in maintenance and cleaning. I was just there and the elevator was filthy for over a week. Stairwells are not cleaned and plumbing is awful. Also - there is FAR too much furniture in one bed apts and no choice to have them store some. So much so, that its difficult to move around the apt.
- Brand new property with pretty sick ammenities that includes for some crazy reason...an infinity pool. Love it.- Staff has gotten way better since mgmt change over.- Reasonable prices for the market and proximity to campus.
The staff is so friendly and know me by name and make me feel welcomed and say hello every time they see me! Love the events they have! Julian &. Darius rock!!
This place is terrible just like all other complexes. There were bad Structural issues. Not only did they attempt to fix the leaky roof, but it took four times to finally finish it and its good. The sixth floor is hot because the heat rises up and there are no ceiling fans. Manager with the previous company was completely incapable of listening to and is highly incompetent. I got placed with the bratty 20-year old who has severe issue with personal hygiene issues all the time. I also lived with an the entitled brat who I had to argue with whose half my age about the stupidest stuff. Both of them had be brought down because of roommate issues. Staff and 2 of my roommate treated me like I was a child. The rooms are tiny. The only thing is that its 2 minutes away from campus. With the amount they charge us, they could have thrown in recycling services. I could honestly say its the perfect place for people who younger than me and are wanting the whole college experience and want to pay ridiculous prices for something that isnt what they say. The new management that just came in also a complete disaster and a at point staff seemed bit rude too. I spent two hours yesterday finally signing over my lease and fees, fees, and more fees. I also had a rude experience with 2 of the leasing agents during my entire stay. Id have better chances in my hometown Houston, which Im moving back to and live happily ever after graduating and leasing out a place that is worthy of my desire of residence instead of piss poor under-managed complex when the manager is never there.
When Vie took over the property I thought they would make it better but they have done less then that. The halls are disgusting with dead roaches and filth everywhere. Sometimes you might find dog poop on the stairs too. The cleaning woman only cleans the clubhouse because thats the only area thats ever clean which is horrible. The 5th and 6th floor is gross so she should be fired because she doesnt clean anything! The trash piles up all the time which pisses everyone off and the elevator is always breaking. The elevator stops working at least once a week. Maintenance is garbage. It takes him days if not weeks to get to you and when he does, he doesnt fix ANYTHING! Hell even mark a work order complete and have not worked on it AT ALL! Every time I come into the gargage we always see him smoking instead of working on our units! Every now and then Ill see the office staff cleaning the property but they shouldnt have to. The only high note about this property is the office staff. Diana is really cool and always tries to help you. Every time you go into the office and she isnt there just walk out because none of your problems will be solved! Shes always doing everything and if she ever leaves, their doomed! The other office staff is pretty friendly too and thats the only reason Vie is getting a 3 and not a 2.
Best place ever!! Has a great location, amazing faculty, and love the events! Favorite part is the gym, it has everything I need!
Property is filthy, air conditioner has been broken for months, elevator is broken half the time, office staff are rude and condescending, and you are absolutely nickel-and-dimed every month. That coupled with the fact that rent is drastically overpriced and it makes this place one to avoid.
We just visited and Diana is so amazing !!! We love her !!! We think we are going to sign up just because she is so great!!!!!
Ella Lofts has been so helpful and nice with everything! They are always able to answer my questions and keep me updated on how the building process is going. Im so impressed with them already!
Having to pay a 7 dollar “convenience fee” every time you pay rent with their new payment portal seems like a great way to lose residents faster than you already are lol
This complex is very nice and the leasing agents are even nicer. I signed with Dianna and she gave me plenty of info about the place and accommodated all of my needs.
Super nice apartments and amenities and Diana from the front office is awesome!
Love Ella Lofts! The building is so pretty and the staff is very friendly! They have the answers to all of my questions and super fast service!
A good place to live that is not only convenient as far as proximity to campus but a very well and attentive staff that really makes every effort to remedy any and everything they can.
Yall are super awesome! You guys were very helpful with the process and always so positive and excited. Ella Loft employees go above and beyond
I just moved in a couple of weeks ago and personally its one of the best places Ive lied so far. Staff is super friendly and create an awesome environment to live with and be around!
PSA: DO NOT LIVE HERE BY ANY MEANS!!! FIVE STAR REVIEWS ARE REWARDED BY ELLA (FAKE)! By far the worst living experience I have ever been apart of. To start, we werent allowed to move in until 2-3 weeks after their GUARANTEED move-in date. I paid $30/ mo for this VIP experience full of different things such as bike rentals, VIP lounge, and tons more and NONE OF IT WAS AS ADVERTISED. So if by some odd reason you are this far in this review and STILL think its a good idea to live at Ella, let me continue. One of my female neighbors on the secure VIP floor had a man break in to her room and stare at her at the end of her bed. Not going to go in to details about this because it was a long story, but just know that happened... Also, the key system is faulty. The doors auto lock behind you (or are supposed to) and when my doors wouldnt work properly, anyone could enter my room at any time. When they finally got around to fixing the issue (after a month) I was so used to the doors not being locked that I locked myself out a couple times after hours, so they were unable to let me in until the morning forcing me to sleep in the clubhouse. Parking: Dont expect to ever have company over to your apartment because there is never guest parking. Also, beware, theyre known for towing residents for some damn reason too. Pets: people let their dogs poop and pee everywhere in that building and the cleaning staff/ residents with the animal have a stand off to see who will pick it up first. Moral of that story is to be prepared for feces everywhere you turn. Elevator: There is only one elevator, so have fun moving in and out. Also there is poop and pee always in the elevator. Price: It is ungodly expensive for as small as it is. FEES: As I am writing this, 2 months after moving out, I am being billed $170 for damage fees knowing I had no damages! I demanded them to send damage proof and they sent me a picture of my refrigerator that I kindly left behind an entire 12 pack of soda in (see elevator and move-out being difficult as is). Ok. If its in the fine print that they charge for leaving stuff in the fridge, fine. But $170?! They will nickle and dime you and not give you reasoning. I would give 0 stars if I could. Only good thing is proximity to campus, but its not worth it. Check out Hillside Ranch. Still close and MUCH better.
As mentioned already, this entire experience has been a total mess! School starts on Monday and I personally start a new job on Monday as well; in a town that is 3 hours from my parents...I am not confident in the new move in date of 8/27 that has changed two times already. The lack of transparency and disrespect from some of the staff members is unacceptable... I knew this property had issues finishing a couple of years back and like a dummy, I signed anyway... I am no longer pacified by these vague nightly e-mails and inconsistent updates... I need these people to DO BETTER or let us go to a more established and capable property.
Super bad service. HATED IT HERE. Fake 5 star reviews. Leasing agents dont help at all and for the price youre paying youd think it was a luxury apartments but no everything was very obviously cheaply made.
I enjoy the new management big time. Youll enjoy your stay in these apartments.
Its getting better with new management. There are still some concerns with transitioning from old management to new. Wish I had known about the lower rate before I signed somewhere else, would have stayed.
Living at Ella has been a wonderful experience. Lots of activitys, amenities, beautiful pool and lots of parking!!
My experience at Ella Lofts was rad! Can’t wait to live there next year!! 5 star experience!
This huge complex only has one elevator which is always out of order. They need to invest on a couple of more elevators.
I went to study with my gal Kimbria and I was so impressed with the study rooms and the over all adorable atmosphere! I’m jealous I don’t live there!
On March 24,2018 my neighbor started a grease fire in her kitchen. The fire alarm did not go off at all! After the fire was put out I notice I had fire damage in my kitchen I notified the apartment complex manager Lauren Cranley. She inform me that it was nothing that she could do for me. I already have bad respiratory problems now living in a hazardous house is causing me even more problems but once again the building is ran by a slump lord manger name Lauren Cranley that feels like its not a big deal. Please dont resign or sign here! I have live here since the beginning and seen the place go down hill.
Let me just start by saying this place looks like a psych ward and a jail mixed in one. Everything is grey, including the furniture. I absolutely love to walk into my apartment and think WOW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL JAIL CELL and it feels like a jail with the way they wrote our lease and how we cant get out of it. I love coming home and taking a shower and the water leaking everywhere into my bathroom since they failed to put in a bathtub or put a glass door to keep the water inside. Its even more fantastic that Ive talked to the people in the leasing office about this (take note I brought this up to them 2 weeks ago) and no one has fixed anything. I walk into the leasing office again last week for them to tell me they put the maintenance request as a broken shower curtain and then end up changing it to broken shower rods. No it is not my shower rod or my broken shower curtain. It is my water that leaks everywhere. Cant wait till mold starts growing in my bathroom since no one is coming to fix it.Also be prepared to be lonely while you live here since theyll tow your friends if they spend the night without getting a overnight pass that you have to get before 6 oclock since thats when the leasing office closes, because every college student knows theyll have someone sleep over before 6 oclock right?? On top of that you have about at most 10 parking spots for guest parking spots or about 5 at the side of the apartment complex for only 2 hour parking spots. Good luck losing all your friends and having them get towed and charged for something overly ridiculous! I LOVE LIVING HERE!! Im totally kidding thats sarcasm. I wont recommend anyone living here and neither will anyone else here. The only good thing about living here is the location.
Very disappointed they have no action plan if the move in date on 8/27 does not happen. Don;t understand why they have not communicated why the inspection for Certificate of Occupancy failed. And what they are doing to guarantee the issues will be resolved by this Friday. No hotels have been offered. These are college kids that are trying to move 2 days before school starts and they dont know if it will happen.
Awesome location and great staff! Good place for students with nice restaurants and stores in close proximity
Beautiful lobby, great views of San Marcos, convenient location close to campus, easy parking!!
