Very disappointing customer service and couldnt even deliver my package on time. They called me on a Thursday and said they would deliver it Friday and I needed to be home to sign for it and they didnt show up so I called and they said they would deliver it Monday and now its Monday night and they are promising me Tuesday morning. Very unprofessional because they never called to inform me that they werent delivering it, I had to call them at the end of the day to check in after I wasted my whole day waiting for them!
Scheduled a pickup for Friday, took the day off work because I had to be home to sign the forms. Called at 2pm for status, was told around 4pm. Never showed.
Avoid like the plague!They will be telling you a delivery day and then say they are missing a piece of the delivery, then give you a new delivery day and never show up and when you call them say again that they are missing a piece.Update: We did raise this on your R&L cares forum, no reply so far. Today the driver delivered 2 out of the 3 pieces and the driver tried to have us sign for all 3 pieces. Nice try but not going to happen!
My order was picked up on Feb.15th. Estimated delivery is the 23rd. Been waiting till now, the 26th and still nothing. Called customer service and they tell me that they dont know whats going on. Finally the tracking says its in San Jose since yesterday the 25th. But for reasons unknown, it wont be here until the 3rd of March. San Jose is 1 hour away from us, and there is no bad weather or anything here that should delay this shipment like that. Called customer service again, and got the worst service and attitude, with no real answers. Im sure this company doesnt care and wont change because of my bad review, but Im still going to let people know my experience with them.
If I could I would give negative stars.. Twice I have recieved freight shipped thought this company. I follow the process in the email, call the dispatch center (San Jose CA), get a plan for the delivery. Both times on the day of delivery, they decide to give the shipment to their buddy companyWise Choice to complete the delivery resulting in several extra days with no communication. When you call the R+L dispatch center, no one has an idea, and are extremely rude. The companies website mentions a focus on customer service...... Well this is one customer who has not received an ounce of it. Epic Fail!!11/4/20.Your desire to save face by adding a link to your website stating you want to help is a waste of digital space on the internet..... Still dont have my cargo, Called the company and nothing....... Where do I send the bill for all of my time wasted? Time off to receive the cargo only to get told its been turfed to a new company, time on the phone trying to get resolve, time on the phone with the company that I purchased the cargo from..... I have no faith in your attempt to resolve this.
I ordered a steel cabinet (350 lbs!) from Costco, shipped to my home by R+L Carriers. Delivery window was between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, they delivered promptly at 11:20, giving me a call shortly before arriving. Driver was very courteous and professional. Very satisfied with the service!
Don’t trust this company. They can’t deliver on the time they committed to and then they lie to you on the phone (if they even bother answering). Bunch of kids could probably do a better job

This is the worst freight company. I never take time to write reviews because I work on customer service and sometimes I understand complicated situations happen. But I order a car engine on eBay and this company was on charge to deliver it. It took two days from Atlanta to Sacramento but has been lost since it got there (about two weeks to be precise) Been calling costumer service and they literally said is lost. How can you lost something that worth $2000? Companies that use this other company for their freight be careful since this company is a joke, seriously they dont care about the costumer. Also person behind the phone told me my best option is to order another item (engine). Are you serious? Sorry for the company that sold me the engine but Im getting my money back.

Another report of careless customer service and pure stupidity.Had a shipment routed through the San Jose office. They texted me and we set up an appointment for midday on a Monday. Delivery site is not staffed at that time, so had to hold someone there throughout the four-hour delivery window.Said window passed without delivery. I telephoned and was told the delivery was cancelled (?!). Was transferred to the manager, Brennan, who said Im not sending my truck up your road. Huh? This is a major thoroughfare with a large industrial/defense contractor a few blocks further up the street. When asked why I wasnt contacted and informed that my appointment was cancelled, he was quiet. When asked why he decided the road was unsuitable (for a liftgate truck, by the way, not a semi), he babbled incoherently, merely repeating that the road was unsuitable. Brennan, you are an embarrassment to your company and should be ashamed of yourself.He promised to work something out and would call back tomorrow. Im still waiting.My punishment: I lost a day of productivity and didnt receive the shipment as promised, His: he must live with his miserable self.
Had a business package with approx 26k in retail products for a special event, with 480 people attending.Not only did they sit on the package for over 2 days, they then sold the shipment service to another company which they didnt hand to them till mid day of the the shipment was do for delivery . Which then couldnt go out.Claiming they would get it to us Monday after the assigned delivery date, and disappointing 480 plus customers and hurting our business reputation with said customers.

I have never wrote a bad review on anyone, this company is a joke, and their customer service is even worse. My order from Costco was missing half the order, the driver tried to get me to sign off on delivery, we would not. I check delivery status they claim deliver complete, no one will return a call
NEVER USE THESE GUYS - they have failed to show up for 3 days in a row - and every time I try to get ahold of a customer service rep they just put me on hold and forget about my call. Nobody at this company gives a crap about the customer.
A great freight courier with the friendliest people working there. Check them first for your freight shipping needs first.
Never, never, never have anything shipped for delivery by R&L Carriers of San Jose. An out-of-state shipment to us was never delivered and sat on their dock for weeks until it was tracked down. Their story was that they tried to deliver it after hours two week earlier, when no one was there to accept it, so they took it back to their dock. They never tried to contact us or the shipper, even though our telephone numbers were on the shipping papers! When we finally tracked it down, they said that they would deliver it for an additional delivery fee. These guys are, at the very least, unprofessional with horrible customer service, and are more likely inherently dishonest.
Have two terrible experience with them.
