Great gym. Well maintained and friendly staff.

I have experienced many cross fits in the area and had not found my home until I got to Retro Fitness. I truly LOVE training here...because were all friends and family!! If you give Retro Fitness a shot.. youll be glad you did!!

Ive been a member since 2014 and this place has always been great to me until now. I tried to log back on after they re-opened due to covid and it said my membership was cancelled and I never did that. I spoke with a very helpful lady from the front desk and she spoke with the new owner and explained to me what happened...The owner went ahead and cancelled my original membership without any warning due to my membership including tanning and child care which they no longer offer anymore. He offered me to join again at the new prices which was nearly 3 times as much as I was paying before without the benefits of having the child care which was one of the main reasons I went there.Kind of a slap in the face and very poor communication for someone that has been a member since they first opened.

No respect for peoples property or privacy. They are going around and hanging flyers right on your door.

Great facility because it is concerned with Safety first and profits second, Justin is chill (Employee/PT), Clean environment, functional and wide variety of exercise equipment. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The work out facilities are designed for men body rather than women. Last year I switch to this place and couldnt do anything to build muscle with their machines. They is NO WAY to follow the standards and fit their machines for weighting.The staff are friendly but the customer service is not good, one time someone left the treadmill on and I didnt notice, as I stepped on the rubber it pushed me back and I heart my knees and hand badly. We told the staff but they didnt care.An other experience was about my birthday smoothie, I am VIP member and I was one day late for my free birthday smoothie so they refused to give it to me!! I dont know how many people go to the gym on their birthday day to get free smoothie!!!!Well, the manager called me yesterday and we discussed the issue over the phone. I appreciate his follow up and increase my rating to this branch. Thanks 👌🏻

Clean, new equipment. Excellent location with all the equipment that anyone could need to achieve a great workout. Cardio equipment is currently unavailable but it has not kept me from getting a complete upper or lower body workout in.

This review comes from their 5-years customer who was trying to cancel his membership because of move, and they still have to charge him for one additional month, because the payment has already been processed and they cannot do anything about it (my credit card has not been charged yet, but it is already late for them)!I actually called their front desk a day before and wanted to cancel over the form, the receptionist mentioned you have to come in person and sign a form. Now, they say your credit card has been charged and I have to pay one full month without any hit.One more reason not to miss this place and not to recommend them for being cheap and not having any sense of a valued customer!

Ive been a patron of Retro Fitness for over 6 years now and I wouldnt recommend anywhere else, especially for the convenient locations and the price.

The staff here is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They are always helpful amd go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible.The smoothie bar is amazing. There are so many varieties and ways to customize for your gains that there is something for everyone.Three equipment and weights are not lacking in the least. Even during peak hours youll be able to get your workout done in a timely fashion. Speaking of peak hours, the other members are also polite and helpful. I have yet to see a single judging eye. This is a great environment for beginners as well as veterans. Not to mention all of the classes that are available.

I love this place. I need motivation to work out so the Rev Team Training is great for me. I always get a great workout in the class and Justin & Greg change up the workouts so you’re not doing the same exercises over again.

Cancelled my account and paid the full balance, they sent me to collections for $10 that I did not owe and was sent in circles trying to resolve this. Eventually a competent assistant manager assisted me in removing their mistake.

Retro Fitness San Jose is clean, well kept and has excellent staff.

This is a great gym for any age/level of fitness. The staff are friendly, and the class instructors are exceptional. There is a wonderful feeling of community between the guests, and the gym is always kept clean.

I am giving them a 3 star since the gym on Foxworthy closed, since it was the closet to me and even then there still was a little drive to it. Loved this gym when they were still opened, they were clean and I liked the fact that could go to the gym and never felt overwhelmed with the people working out there. I ended up closing my membership because the one on Blossom Hill is to far for me to drive especially with traffic. If they ever open one in Santa Clara or North San Jose, I would join again and most likely give a better rating

Went to retro for a try out session. Stuff was friendly. They have a full collection for weight training. Kinda feel extra for their color theme (excuse me for my designer Perspective) but turns out to be motivated. Totally did its job for a routine weight training workout.

This a great gym for the price. You can watch a movie and work out at the same time. Classes, typical weight machines, free weights, etc. No pool so I guess that one reason it is so low cost. Also for just a bit more you can bring a different guest every day.

Great friendly staff but terrible Preventative maintenance on the equipment. I have brought my own set of Allen wrenches in to the gym to tighten things up after addressing staff and was told that only the manager can fix the machines. You get charged a metenance fee yet simple preventive maintenance is not up kept.

One of the best gyms Ive ever been to. Staff were always really friendly, the equipment is new they have a locker/shower room and a smoothie bar! For 19.99/mo cant beat it.

Ive been a member since 2016 at the former Foxworthy location. I love this place, if your looking for a gym that makes you feel welcome look no further. Staff is always greeting me with a smile, equipment is well kept and not to mention they have a turf area where you can get real creative with your workouts. Even during peak hours the have an abundance of dumbbells,machines, and benchs to chose from witch makes it worth every penny. Not to mention the R.E.V. class is a great way to burn calories and have encouraging coachs challenge /push you to limits you didnt know you could reach. So to sum it up if your in the market for a new gym but dont want to be crowed by hundreds of people youve found your place!p.sThe Smoothie Bar is my favorite part after a great session (chocolate peanut butter trust me)

So far my experience has been great! The trainer, Justin, made the subscription process so easy, and he has been very helpful and supportive. Everybody is very friendly, the place is super clean, and the Cardio Theater works great for me bc of my migraines. Keep up the great work!!!

They have heavy bags, a speed bag, and a double-end bag. Some of the basics of boxing equipment, which most fitness gyms dont have.

I joined Retro because I was really unhappy with another gym down the road on Santa Teresa. I only use the treadmill as Im training for a marathon and need a place to run when the weather outside isnt suitable. I especially like the cardio theater as it helps break the monotony of being on the dreadmill for miles upon miles. My only request would be the the closed captioning be on since its a bit difficult to hear the dialogue.The gym is clean, the machines I have been on have been in good order and the staff is always friendly.

Agitating color combination of bright Red and yellow w. Loud music. Kids play room has no glass window to take a peek at and is dark.

Place is just as bad as planet fitness. Poor customer service. Espicially from Jen. Poor communication from management. I have had an issue for 2 weeks now and have not been able to reach Veronica or coorperate which had a full voicemail yesterday and i finally was able to leave 1 today. They closed my gym and I never recieved notification. I want to cancle my membership and be reimbursed for the months and fees i prepaid in cash. I am still waiting for a resolution and for a memeber of management to contact me. This place isnt worth wasting a cent on. It is now over crowded and even dirtier because of the closure of the other location and the keeping of the staff from the other location. The weights do not get racked and the music is ghetto. They stopped playing the movies on the media room and even in the common areas. Do not go to retro fitness unless you want to be disappointed and scammed.

I liked the facility and enjoyed the front desk members. But my workplace moved. So I cancelled my membership the 11th month, paid the fees, got a receipt. I thought we were done. But they kept trying to charge my credit card, and when I cancelled the credit card they sent the bill (not in writing, no explanation etc.) to collections. I have called twice and they promise to have a manager look into it but the manager doesnt return calls. I am considering calling BBB and anyone else I can think of (City of SJ?) as I.m now receiving 3-5 collection calls for $40 daily! WTH?!Update: 6 month after cancelling, I have a receipt that shows zero balance and a cancelled contract. They are STILL calling me.

Love this gym! Its usually not too busy and the cardio theater makes cardio go by a lot faster, not to mention they have the most awesome staff members like Christobal, Justin, Caitlan, Domingo, and Reggie just to mention a few!

With a membership you can go to any location.Classes can only be at home locations, and you would have to pay additional each month unless you sign up with a good deal.Theres an entire level for cardio, as well as a wall on the other level.There are free weights, multiple squat racks, kettle bells, as well as multiple weight machines.All locker rooms have toilets and showers.
