So we had a lot of stuff, big sectional couch, all the components of our large backyard gazebo, lots of miscellaneous junk from around the house and yards. Piled up four ft high on the curb. They came on time, courteous 1/2 hr heads up, gave some helpful advice which saved us $$$, gave the exact quote I guessed last night and just straight up got us squared away in fifteen/ twenty minutes. They were a little slow to show up, 20 minutes after their 2 hour pick up window. However they were in and out within 30 minutes after basically filling up their truck with my garbage. Excellent service, worth the wait.

Not bad on pricing either.Longer version: I first Googled for hazardous materials pickup and Google search listed Junk Kings as “Provides: Hazardous waste removal”, so I decided to go with them. Online booking was super easy and quick, booked appointment at night and was able to secure a pickup in less than 24hrs.I noted in my pickup order that I had hazardous materials to be removed. Cody, from Junk Kings, emailed me and told me it’s in their policy to not take hazardous materials. I emailed back with a screenshot from the Google search that mislead me. Cody was gracious and patient when explaining their policy and that the information provided by the Google search was incorrect and apologized for the confusion.But overall, I am glad that it happened that way and I was able to use Junk Kings to pickup the other things I wanted to get removed (mattresses, doors, washer/dryer, etc.). They called ahead and came when they said they would. They were quick, transparent as they called me to confirm they completed, and even sent me a picture of the cleaned up area after they finished.I was pleasantly surprised that they allowed me to pay through email and not at time of service. That was awesome as I wasn’t home at time of pickup. I was also surprised to find it was cheap than I expected as well. Very happy with service and plan to use them again in the future.

My husband and I needed to remove a queen sized mattress since we are moving to a new place. They alerted us they were ahead of schedule by two hours and politely inquired whether we would like them to come early. Everything was smooth and easy to coordinate via text. They were late, but they kept me informed of their eta so it was fine. Slightly more expensive than I expected but I really needed the junk gone so I was willing to go over budget. The guys who picked up the junk were great and showed me a price of removal. I just don’t understand why when I called for a quote the person on the phone couldn’t have listed those prices for me so I had an idea of what it might be. Especially since it is based on volume and there was a chart that showed the volume with the corresponding price.

Arrived early, were super quick, and booking them in the first place was a breeze.

So I called Junk Kings to remove my Furniture and bags of freshly laundered clothes and appliances like a coffee machine along with a barely used coffee table and desk. Although the Junk Kings guys were really nice and got the job done quickly, Im assuming everything they took they decided to junk instead of donate because they threw everything off the balcony into the trunk including all the furniture which would promptly break anything that I donated thats fragile. I assume this means everything I wanted to donate went straight to the junkyard since it would be all smashed from the tossing. At least they got the job done fast it only took around 30 minutes and then they were finished.

Ive used them a few times. Once they arrive, they work really quickly. Communication is great and the guys who are on site are always friendly, hardworking, and a pleasure to do business with! I will keep using them and recommending them.

They didnt get a clear picture of what needs to be removed at the time when they did the estimate. Next day they blamed me for increasing the pile and added ridiculous amount to the bill. They also picked up some stuff they were not supposed to. Overall the price is too high for that kind of service.Their manager called me after this review was posted and gave me a discount. It was mostly a result of miscommunication, so my advice is to take pictures of your stuff and be present when they pick it up (pretty obvious, isnt it 😀).

I have used these guys a few times now and will definitely call them again. Always quick and friendly and their rates seem to be a bit better than the competition. They also always honor any discount promotions they are running unlike another company I have used in the past.

Hauled away old decking and some lumber. Upsold me after half the work was already done and left cigarette butts on my property after I asked them to make sure they were picked up. I find this disrespectful and being in a high fire area, potentially dangerous. The pluses are that it was easy to set up and my stuff is gone.

Update 1/5/2020.Updating my rating from 1 to 4 stars. Luis called me this morning to apologize regarding the service and the miscommunication. Junk King discounted my service fee for my inconvenience. Luis gave me his personal number and told me if ever i needed service in the future to call him directly and he would take care of me. Thanks Luis.I just got finishing building a deck when a member of our family went to the hospital. Thus I didn’t have time to deal with clean up. I called Junk King and told them I just finished building a deck and had wood left over and other general junk I wanted cleaned up. They showed up gave me a quote after I showed them everything I wanted cleaned up. Then they removed all the general garbage. After all that was loaded in their truck they told me they could not take pressure treated wood. They should have told me that from the beginning. I would have called 1800-GOT-JUNK as they would take it. Basically they took all the stuff I could have called the city to pick up for free and charged me $340.00 and I still have all the left over wood. Not only that when they sorted all the wood they moved the pressure treated wood right in front of a gate so I had to move it. They left the place a mess. I called Junk King to complain and the dispatcher agreed that they should have let me know prior to booking and the workers should have let me know before loading. He asked that they pick it up. They agreed to it. I thought we were done. Then a few minutes later they told me their boss called and told them they could not pick it up. They tried to take off and still had not finished picking up the regular stuff. I called dispatch back and the person said he would have the main guy I originally talked to call me back. I waited.... waited.... they never called me back. Very unprofessional. Moral of the story don’t use Junk King use 1800GOTJUNK. I have used both services now. 1800GOTJUNK picked everything up and swept up and left the place clean. Junk King didn’t pick everything up and didn’t properly communicate to give me a choice of not using them and then not only did they not sweep but they moved stuff in my way. I will update this review if Junk King contacts me to make this right.
