I’ve had Sean do quite a bit of work on my truck over the past couple of years. He’s always very helpful, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make expensive, time consuming repairs as painless as possible. Hopefully nothing else breaks anytime soon, but if it does I know who to call!

I went to John for motorcycle and car repairs while I was living in the Bay Area. Hes upfront, honest, fair, and will work hard to get you back in your vehicle ASAP. The custom work he does on bikes is amazing. And on top of all of that, hes a great dude. Super nice, friendly, and easy to deal with.

Got some New Rear window Louvers for my 2012 Challenger RT Classic that needed to be installed with better stuff than the 3m material that were pre installed on the Louvers. checked out a few other places before coming to SJ Customs and met with Johnny. Now to be fair he said he had never done this before but he seemed very confidant and willing, he even showed me some of his work he did on his Harley involving speaker boxes. The job he did on his bike looked good and the reviews out of this place seemed like he would do a good job. Fast Forward to the next day when i got a text telling me the job was done and it would cost 200 dollars and before picking the car up i had asked if there where any issues, even though i asked him to call me if there were any or any obstacles that came up. the only obstacle Johnny informed me was that he was not able to use the provided brackets for my new Louvers and that he had to make new ones. when i saw the car it was a little less than 15 minutes before closing time, but they looked good, paid Johnny cash and left. But as soon as i got home i noticed a lot wrong with the work. there were dents where the hinges were glued at the top, and the owner Johnny says its from the weight of the Louvers. Guys Johnny said that there was no dents when he installed the Louvers and i had weight plates in a box to pin the adhesive that was provided on the hinges that weighed a lot more than the Louvers and did not cause any dent before taking them to Johnny, and if they did, im sure Johnny would have mentioned it before working on the vehicle to avoid any complaints against him. the weight each side had was was 35 lbs in a box that had them spread out to avoid the weight being directly in a spot and possibly causing any damage. The Louvers weight isnt even pressing down in that area and i found out on forums that people with the louvers drilled in need to take care when tightening as they can cause dents. But this isnt all, i Got no call from Johnny informing me about the fitment of the Louvers, as they would not sit flush on the vehicle. It was even mentioned to him that, that was important to me. The worst thing i got back from Johnny was when i mentioned the placement was off and showed him pictures that one side was almost an inch higher than the other when lifting the trunk open, speaking of opening the trunk the trunk the trunk would hit the louvers on one side causing it to scratch the paint off from the trunk. Johnny had this to say after texting him my complaintMe: Hey Bro! I Know you tried to put these on as best as you can but upon further inspection i noticed where the hinges are at the top they are uneven. is there anything we can do to get that corrected somehow?Johnny: They are un even.. for real. I asked 2 ppl yesterday if it was straight before i glued them. Everyone said they were goodMe: Where the hinge is on at the left side, i can put a finger under it, the finger is literally between the hinge and the glass whereas the right side the hinge is a lot closer.and after showing the pictures of this his replyJohnny: Damn.. it must have moved when i drilled it in placeAfter texting back and forth i knew i was not getting anywhere with Johnny, i really dont see how someone who is suppose to be a professional could mess this up, especially when they are about to put holes in a car. Johnny did apologize and i asked if we could make some sort of compromise. he said we can try and take it off and make it straight but you are stuck with the holes in the roof.No resolution. The outcome of this review is to let people know what my experience was like. Im sure this thing doesnt happen all the time with this place, SJ Customs has good reviews but i would hate for someone to lose out on their hard earned money like i did. My advice would be take your car to someone who would work on it as if it was there car, or get some actual references, the work done on my car seemed rushed and it seemed no care was taken when worked on at all
