Extremely abusive staff, filthy conditions, bathrooms and plumbing constantly out of order and a racial climate that has white guests treated with contempt in the most blatant of manners. On three occasions a very large staff knocked out a much smaller client rendering each one unconscious. The paramedics were called and took them away. The staff member responsible implied it was another client who had left at that point. In one incident, the staff member crossed the street to beat a client who was not even on the property.Staff needs continuous training. This is not a jail however perhaps that is all the individuals hired are familiar with? Diversity within staff is utterly non-existent.I would conclude that the CEO Gwendolyn Westbrook, whose only work experience has been at this org has become too complacent, apathetic and comfortable. Time for a change and accountability.

I always found the food to be great.I just wonder what the rules are on showers, I fear me and my son may be on the streets again and the kroc center where Ive showered in the past when homeless is closed.

Love the people and atmosphere. It is a place where people can eat breakfast and dinner for free if they have no money. There are staff that assist people with disabilities. People can sign up for a bed and sleep in their shelter for the homeless. There are showers, washers and dryers so people can clean their laundry. I really appreciate the support I received there. I advise anyone who needs this kind of assistance to go there. No one with respect is turned away. And the food is cooked by Lionel so youll be full!

This place is the best! To eat you have to sign in and wash your hands with soap that they provide before they serve you. The food is hot and good with salad, veggies, some kind of main dish, bread, and your choice of juice and water. They have showers from 3-7pm and they are clean and smell like lysol and you can bring your kids. They also have laundry services here. There is no judgement even if you dont look homeless they treat you with respect. This is the BEST place in all the city Ive been to and now I know where I will be donating once I find a place to live.

Its a great place to get a fulfilling meal if not nutritional you can get a safe and peaceful rest as long as the substance abusers do not try to have it there way when they come into the building. During a altercation staff is attempting to defuse the situation by referring to the rules and policy of the establishment but the aggressor aint trying to hear it and becomes verbally abusive and threatening to staff and clients. If everyone honored the rules and policy of the establishment (rather than complaining how they wanted it to be) this place would still be OUR MOTHER BROWNS.....Believe it or not she watching everything from that GREATER PLACE......

They only serve breakfast, which was a bummer, because the next restaurant is miles away. The clients are spiritual, which made the employees attentive to my special needs. The neighborhood wasnt so bad.

While sometimes they come across a bit rude & some rules may seem to be extreme its necessary in order to deal with the clients if you get DOS denied of services then you most likely deserved to be. Actually they really do care about your needs. Theyre here to help & do what they can to help you succeed. Im glad theyre available for the people who are in need the services provided.Meals breakfast & dinner provided
