This is a wonderful organization. They have helped so many of us. Its quite the blessing.
A good place for the homeless to hang out during the day. They offer a few services for the homeless thru out the week.
Showering is not mandatory. For sanitary reasons and good hygiene, which supports good health, clients should be required to shower. There is an older woman who works there called Ms Rita. She spends more time harassing, scrutinizing and stereotyping clients rather than focusing on providing compassionate professional service. She made a comment that there are two types of clients. The ones who were released from jail or the ones that came from the street. I find this comment to be offensive and degrading as a supporter of homeless programs and a human rights advocate. That kind of remark is prejudiced and highly ignorant of the demographics of the homeless population. Some people have suffered catastrophic and traumatic losses, lost employment, lost their homes, became disabled or are escaping domestic violence or simply cannot find a place to live in the current overpriced and greedy housing market. If you don’t have compassion and empathy for people, you should not be working in social services of any kind!
