Although the prices are reasonable but it’s the closest one on walking distance to me, Im not overjoyed about this place. There’s always a group of about 6 men hanging out in their car at the curb in front of the laundromat drinking way too much. The staff inside look and act like they hate being there and look bothered if you ask for anything. It was 6pm when I went there and I was told by the 20 something attendant that the place was closed, even though the door was open and the signs say last wash is at 7pm. I give only 2 stars because it’s close by
Came from Miami to San Francisco to vacation and decided to do laundry here in the TL laundromat. Great stuff and very helpful assisting me with how to use a commercial washer and dryer since it was my first time doing laundry in a actually laundromat
I like this spot. You can have drink while you wait for your laundry to finish. Awesome!!! All they need now is a pool table...
The nastiest of the TL. The people who work at the cafe were some of the rudest people I’ve met. I was told I couldn’t sit down. When I asked for the wifi they said they didn’t have wifi, there was a network with the same name as the cafe, so they were clearly lying. Inside the laundromat it’s disgustingly dirty. I live in the TL, but this place grossed me out.
Very helpful staff. My first time stopping by and I got an amazing breakfast bagel sandwich on the house, the machines are quick and efficient.
Nice laundromat. Very clean and half of the washing machines looked brand new. The staff was nice and friendly and offered change as well as cups of detergent for 1$You can grab a drink while your here as well which makes it super cool to relax and watch a movie while you are waiting for your stuff to dry.Nice spot to stop if you are staying at the Hilton down the street since they are so cheap and dont have laundry facilities in the hotel.
This is a whole new level of stalking. I thought I was being followed..Now I Know Im being followed. 😵
This place is usually pretty clean. I like that the employees are nice and helpful if needed.(in laundromat) Never really had any problems here! Haven’t tried the food but would like to once pandemic calms down!
Awesome place... highly recommend it to anyone!!! Looking forward to more dirty clothes..lol
Served needs for laundromat but bar was closed, bar attendant not friendly but maintenance worker in laundry kept the place clean and was very helpful with change machine. Dryers were very inexpensive.
I went there at 8:30 am, but they were not open. They are supposed to open at 8 am Sunday. No sign or anything they change the schedule or temporary closed.
I think this laundromat is a little pricey compared to some others and many of the washers and dryers are out of service every time I go there.
They dont really deserve any stars. I rarely give a no rate review. This place is very unfriendly. I visited this place for the second time (against my better judgement) and again was treated horribly by the staff. The first time I was harassed by a young man (he didnt even appear to be an adult) out front. Minutes later I found out that he was a friend of mgmts. I was having a quick bite to eat while I waited for my laundry to wash. Mgmt. told me, maybe you should eat somewhere else . This time they were not only unfriendly, they told me at 6:30pm they would be closing, I needed to be out by 7pm. Theyre hours are posted that they close at 8pm. I didnt feel as though they were very welcoming. I will not be going back to this place.
The only laundromat I know of with a pterodactyl overseeing things. No signs posted to explain how and where to get quarters and when I asked at the cafe the response was a little terse. But all in all a clean, quiet place to get your laundry done. I didnt eat or drink anything so cant comment on the cafe.$1 for liquid soap (one load), $3 for a wash and $1 for 24 minutes of dry time. They do have no perfume/dye soap which is great and much appreciated.
NO IDEA where this place got its reviews from tbh. Doesnt even come close to the Brainwash. Half the machines were out of order, the place is (due to its location) frequented by homeless people, interior is very very basic and worn out and despite their efforts to keep it tidy probably the last place Id have food at.
Clean cool place and attentive service and only a ten. min walk from home.
Best machines Ive found in SF
This place is clean and popular with surrounding residents. There are ample washers and dryers including a few large load washers. There is a nice cafe and the staff is extremely friendly, family owned and run business. I have tried some of the food and its worth the money spent. I would say its a bit pricey so I give it $$ out of $$$$. Its my favorite neighborhood laundromat in the tendernob area! To wash in the small washers will cost you $3.25 larger ones range from $5-7. Dryers are $0.25 for 6 minutes. Last wash begins at 7pm. One of my favorite snacks to purchase is the grilled cheese and salad for $8 and some change. They also have breakfast items sodas and espressos.
It’s really clean and affordable 👍🏽
Edited 08/28/2019.New name, El Parce, new staff, new bigger menu. Coffee is warm and the staff, warmer. Breakfast included waffles with banana, strawberry, whip cream, nutella, yay. Slowly trying everything on the menu. You can still do laundry while eating a good meal in a nice cafe and they are now serving wine and beer. They will make any special order as long as the ingredients are there. If you do that, you will be paying a la cart prices, its only fair. My new favorite cafe/brunch/laundromat. For sports/tv fans, they have 8 TV monitors. Laundromat is reasonably priced. $3.75-$7.50 per wash and ¢.25 per 8 minutes of drying.
Great coffee shop. The food is great but only if they can open up on time. 😞
This laundromat provided an affordable alternative to outsourcing my laundry when I had to relocate to a hotel in Union Square for a few months. Washing machines and dryers are economical ($3.50 for wash, ~$2-3 for drying, and 1x detergent for $1.25), and also efficient, allowing me to get a load washed and dried in an hour. Keep in mind they close at 8:30, so start your load by 7 pm. There is abundant seating where you can order a coffee/food and work (free wifi) while you wait. The environment of the cafe was conducive to working as well. The staff is welcoming and seem committed to make your wait comfortable. Sending my gratitude to them!
I live just 2 blocks away from here and I wash on average about 3X a month at this location. It opens bright and early for me and gentleman and lady that work here usually are always friendly and attentive. The washers n dryers work great here and are kept very clean! Sometime there are 1 or 2 down for matienace but there are plenty of others that never seems to be an issue. Its very diverse customers here which I love, and that makes me very comfortable. This is the only place i would consider washing my clothes, feels safe and welcoming! Thank you for your awesome laundromat 🧺
Great place to do laundry if you are traveling. Our hotel was going to charge us an outrageous amount of money to wash our clothes so I found this place nearby and was surprised at how nice and safe it is. There is a great cafe in the front and the laundry mat is in the back. Its immaculate. The man who works there was so helpful. He helped us through each step of the way. We actually stayed and ate breakfast in the cafe while the clothes were washing because it was such a comfortable and welcoming place.
It’s a clean place and staff are nice
Highly recommended. As a frequent traveler that relies on laundry facilities, this was a welcome surprise. As far as public laundromats go this one gets the job done with some flair. The place and machines are clean and function well. $3 per wash, 25 cent 8 minute dryer cycles. They have change machines and swipe cards for the locals. They also have the standard laundry soap dispensing machine.Where the flair comes in is with the espresso, beer/wine and food bar. The menu is small but for the short time it takes to do laundry it is perfect. I was able to enjoy an americano, breakfast sandwich with avocado. Both well prepared and happy that the avocado portion was generous. I also was able to sit down and catch up on email (and write this review).Last but not least, the service was great. What else is there to say other then this will be my go to when in the city on business and have the need to get my laundry done.
This place is amazing, clean, and magical. My husband and I came here after Brainwash closed, and needless to say it was true love at first wash. The staff is always so kind and compassionate - we love Jim and his rad stories forever!! He also makes a mean michelada.... probably the best I’ve had.The food here is bomb and worth every cent, and I love their selection of beers. The artwork on the walls adds something special, and it’s a place I enjoy doing some art myself. It’s a super cozy environment and you can really feel the sense of community here - everyone is kind and looks out for each other. Positive vibes all around.Overall a great place to hang out and do laundry, with quality machines and quality service. Don’t risk doing your laundry at some sketchy looking place - do it here!!!
A proper cafe. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food and quick service. The laundromat has plenty of washers and dryers, including some large capacity ones, so it’s unlikely that you’d have to wait.It has a very neighbourhood feel and it’s in the Tenderloin so just keep that in mind. There are plenty of other laundromats in SF, if you’re looking for a place with no character. After being to so many laundromats with “cafés” serving mediocre overpriced food, this place is a breath of laundry fresh air.
This is a great little gem. I had a breakfast burrito while doing laundry. It was great. The owner operator is passionate about what he makes. I highly recommend supporting this location.
Awesome staff! Great hospitality! I had a pleasant time doing my laundry there! Would come back! 😉
Laundry is fine just they don’t let use restroom unless you don’t buy coffee . He says laundry and coffee place is a separate business .restroom is not for laundry user. Before it was now it’s not. Everyday we don’t drink coffee so can’t use restroom while doing laundry
Great staff, breakfast and laundry is a great combo,The food is great, good portions, and great prices. Its worth a visit
Its a cafe and a full laundromat connected! Sip on coffee and watch sports while you wait on your clothes. Its great! Staff is nice
Cool vibe, clean and friendly. Good prices on Washing machines and dryers, tasty sandwiches. Im visiting from Brooklyn New York and I havent seen a better laundromat and service then TL Cafe and laundromat not even in New York where Im from. Dave was the Guy behind the counter who served and prepared the food and his Service was superb. Highly recommend to anyone who is visiting San Francisco and is near the Bay Area. Thanks again for the amazing service and for sure we will be back here in the near future.
Visiting from England this is probabbly the best laundromat Ive ever been in such welcoming staff the cafe food looked good with a nice selection and the machines worked really well will defiantly visit again
Delicious food, wonderful service, great price. Would go to the cafe again even if I wasn’t doing laundry! Quiet and easy to use laundromat.
Best food Ive ever eaten at a laundromat. Washers and dryers were clean. Food was great, lots of good options. Id definitely eat there again on my next trip!
Great food, very friendly staff, and all the machines worked great. Extremely pleased with my visit. Come see the pterodactyl hanging in the back. It’s sick.
Clean and very laid backClassy laundrymat, great machines, friendly staff
New owner is terrible. Playing very loud music, everything is not working, and he is basically never available to assist with anything. This place was nice, now its just trashy. Oh, did I forget to mention that its not clean at all and there are roaches? Yuck!
Great laundromat (and cafe!) within walking distance of our hotel in Union Square. The hotel was going to charge an insane amount for laundry so we looked up places for laundry and found this one. It is nice to sit down and enjoy a coffee while the laundry is going (they also have an ATM). This is a great alternative for travelers compared to a hotel and you can eat breakfast at the same time.
I ABSOLUTELY love the TL!! Best Laundromat I have ever seen. I do my laundry there always and wouldnt be caught anywhere else. Cleanest, freshest place anywhere!! I love doing my laundry while sitting at their bar eating one of their incredible sandwiches. A truly friendly gathering pkace.
A great place to do laundry and have some of the best chocolate chip cookies ever. If you can avoid weekends or go early because its a full house and you might find your self waiting. No worries though just take advantage of the cafe
It was just about okay. Parking is very tough as one would expect. The dryers also kept giving us issues and there were nobody around to help. I had high expectations based on the reviews, but there wasnt anything that would make me consider them ahead of the other ones.
Coming from an international trip in SF for a few days, it was a super great find. Super clean, the staff was super friendly and the machines were in great condition and well taken care of. Bathroom is also super clean and the cold brew I had was amazing. Definitely would recommend, the cafe/laundromat concept is genius.
Angela was very friendly and prepared a wonderful egg & cheese bagel with extra care. Bagel was hours old (freshly baked). Full service espresso bar too. Facility is no-frills but clean. Laundry is reasonably priced.
In SF on vacation, had to do some laundry and didnt want to pay hotel prices. Found this place on yelp. Its large, clean, kinda basic, but the coffee is fantastic, the breakfast sandwich is legit, and the whole experience was as good as doing laundry can get. Guy behind the bar is helpful and kind. They have beer as well :)
Food was great and doing your laundry at the same time a bonus. Washers and dryers were clean and easy to use.
This is a gem in the heart of San Francisco! I would come to the cafe even if I didn’t need to do laundry. They have everything from coffee and breakfast to beer and snacks. There are several options for washer sizes (from regular to super size) and the staff was so extremely helpful! The machines take cash or credit cards. Worth the Uber ride here!!
Being from out of town and with little to no idea, we headed down to this Laundromat for a quick visit. My wife and I ended up spending two hours here chatting to the owner over a couple of beers whilst our washing was being done. Great place, great guy and great experience - cannot recommend enough!
Short walk up from the Hilton. Excellent facilities. Scrumptious breakfast while waiting.
It was a nice place for washing our clothes. Clean and friendly people. The owner its a cool boy. The coffee was great. If we come back to SF so we know a good laundry.
Awesome service, great food. Beer and laundry go together so well!
Absolutely spot on. The guy working there was very friendly and very helpful. He made me a fantastic latte while i waited for the wash and they also had wifi. Would definitely recommend.
Was in San Francisco for a quick work trip and needed to dry a couple shirts and jeans. After I changed up my dollar a guy walked over and asked if I needed help, I said no and he asked if I was washing or drying. When I responded that I was drying he said he doesn’t allow drying only. I offered to buy a cup of coffee and he still insisted I couldn’t dry my clothes there. I’m a young working professional, I could understand if I walked in smelling of urine, or if the place was busy and he wanted to reserve the dryer for the patrons who were washing also, but it was Wednesday at noon and the place was dead.
Great laundromat, great café. The quarter machines (yes, plural!) actually work; the washers and dryers are clean and seem to work very well. The only drawbacks are that youre only supposed to use liquid detergent and they dont sell any there. Thats a quirk that, for me, wasnt enough to knock off a full star. The food at the café is priced fairly and I liked what I ordered. As far as safety, there are cameras and I felt comfortable enough to leave my clothes to dry while I ordered and ate in the café area.
We stayed at Hilton Union Square. This laundromat was a very convenient place for us and they serve breakfast too 👍
Perfect place to do your laundry and enjoy a good cup of coffee with good selection of delicious bagel sandwiches!! Not to mention very friendly and nice owner. Highly recommended!!
The machines never work. Have to dry in a different machine because of it. Not a good laundromat anymore.
Very clean, friendly staff, had a tasty breakfast while waiting for my clothes to wash and dry!
Great place with good pricing and most important friendly and helpful people. I love the combination of laundry and cafe.
The guys set me up with the machine, detergent and a cup of coffee all on my credit card - as I had no small bills on me. Friendly team here. Good coffee too! If you are traveling and need self-serve laundry, come here.
Perfect in every way - modern efficient machines, change machine, laundry soap dispenser, cafe and clean & tidy - except the laundry soap had run out! As we didn’t have time to zip to a Walgreens, we improvised with fabric softener 😄
Its ok. Better and more secure than any other place in the TL. Expensive though. Good place for tourists. They also kindly refund broken machines.
Upon arriving in San Francisco with a lot of dirty laundry from a 3 day train ride I found out my hotel didnt provide laundry services or facilities. I searched the neighborhood and found a gold mine at TL! The owner Jim was about to close and yet allowed me to wash and dry my clothes. He was also extremely welcoming, so much fun, and an interesting and genuine guy overall. We live in Chicago and hope to come back and visit him again soon... with or without laundry! He was a highlight of our trip!
Best laundromat ever. Damn good food and service. Staff are so so helpful and kind
Clean and cheerful place. Great breakfast too
My wife and I started going here after Brainwash closed late last year. TL Cafe and Laundromat is a spiffy little joint (arguably cleaner than Brainwash with newer, more dependable machines). Theyve always got decent tunes playing at the bar, where youll likely find Jim (or any of the other helpful and friendly staff) ready to dole out long pulled espresso, simple and tasty sandwiches or local bottled beer. Everythings reasonably priced, from the Vietnamese Cold Brew to the industrial sized dryers, so it wont break the bank to give this place a shot. This is a great spot to cleanse your threads, wet your whistle and quell your belly grumblin!
Very clean and the food is good. Plus the service is excellent.
This laundromat is very clean, machines work well, staff are friendly and respectful. Great cafe and laundromat.
I actually live in Japantown, but to get laundry done, get something to eat (coffees good!) and be able to get work done because of internet access, this is the place. Theres another one in the neighborhood, but this one is a tad closer to me.Place is kept clean. The main steward of the place is Jim who I dont actually know, but have witnessed many people who come through the place and know him.
Service here was next to non existent...All of the extra capacity washers were out of order...and a third of the dryers were out of order too.....Im sorry but 3.50 for a normal load? Ill go beat my clothes on the rocks in the river
Wonderful, excellent, brilliant! Who needs a kitchen and washing machine now. We stay at the Hilton around the corner, but breakfast and laundry service is much better here. Great service, great food and great value for money. My wife (at the picture) had the veggie ommelet and coffee for only 12 bucks. I can’t even beat that price level in my own kichen. Staff was very kind and helpfull with instructions for landromat and change/coins too. Highly recommendable!
Doesn’t accept card for laundromat.Otherwise food offerings seem great, very clean.
Cool people. Clean clothes. Delicious breakfast. Flavorful coffee. All good.
Good rides, the rides have a tendency to break down and fill up with water, but if you can get around that its a really fun amusement park, I am alsoreally itches after I get out of a ride that fills up with water and its way toexpensive for what you get. But other than that the rides are great
That’s the nice place if you want to drink with yourself with nice people try it
What a great, simple idea. This place cant be overrated. Staff was awesome.
Great cafe to chill at while waiting for your laundry, and the food is really good.
Sadly just a single brave soul behind the counter trying to do everything by herself. At least she smiled at me before ignoring me to tend to some someones rapidly burning breakfast sizzling on a single gas burner.
Definitely recommended. My hotel was going to charge me probably in the region of $100 for a medium load of washing. Crazy. Found this place with a Google search instead. $1 for soap, $4 for wash (about 30 mins), 25c for 6 mins drying (X 4 needed in my case but some stuff dry with only 2). Bargain. Very helpful guy in the attached cafe showed me how to use machines. Cafe does good range of drinks and food. Gave me wifi code for free. Coins needed for soap + dryer (cafe will change notes) but card payment can be used for wash. Yes a few homeless around but didnt feel unsafe at 8pm - 9pm on a Tuesday eve and plenty of other people around too. Good result!
