The customer service is the worst. They hung up on your calls without explaining any technical questions you asked. The worst service with really unprofessional staffs.
I renewed my account on Aug 20, 2020. This year, I received an email from Webpass the price is increasing from $600 to 700, 15% increases is not acceptable. On top of that they are indicating that the service will be discontinued on August 8 not August 20 and finally today August 3, they disconnected the Internet what kind of business are they running???Here is the calling time for the technical service: 102 people front of me, billing department: 49 people front of me.Really? What type of business is this??
Terrible company. Our building is now offering them as an alternative to Comcast. They have no idea what they are doing.
Very unreliable. Every time I report an outage, they say they are up and close the ticket. Speeds are sometimes good but usually a bizarre 10mb down and/200mb up. It was fantastic at my last apartment, at this apartment it is utterly useless. Keeping at one star because their support when you say there is an outage or speeds are no where near what is advertised is to just say, Sorry, looks like our service is running just fine! when it is very much not.
I got a notification of a 17% price hike without any real explanation. My speeds are not anywhere close as advertised and customer service said there is nothing they could do. If it was due to improvement in performance I would understand the price increase. This is just taking advantage and gauging the customer, right?
I would say 95% stable and good connection speed. That is not great. The annual service fee has been increased $50. It started as $450, now $700. The service was more stable before, and tech support analysis was better before.Once I figured out the issue was most likely their cable or connection issue by eliminating all other possibilities. But, they insisted that it could be caused by my house network. First they scheduled a service visit in three days!!! I had to ask them to find best and earliest service somehow. They eventually find time in the next day. Our network was down for almost 24 hours at that time. They figured out it was their cable connection issue as I suspected. This summer, the connection speed was degraded more often than before. In this last 6 days, the service went down twice. It took more than 5 hours to recover... Because of these experiences, I cant recommend Webpass to my friend any more.
People! This is the BEST. ISP. EVER! I take issue with people giving poor reviews of Google Webpass. The service is so much better than other ISPs Ive interacted with in the past. I can get a highly-qualified human on the phone immediately who answers questions fast... whats not to like! Dont believe the haters with bad reviews, Google Webpass is awesome.
If youre looking for great internet service this has to be the best. after the first technician did not show up completely, Google fiber was happy to get me an amazing technician to not only set up my Wi-Fi router but also to ensure that the upload and download speeds were more than what I would expect. A terabyte system for $70 a month is amazing thank you so much Google for making my life 10,000 times better
Blaming the pandemic for your inability to restore service is lame. This free month will likely be my only month of your unreliable service. Google should stick with selling ads, as that seems to be the only thing it does successfully.
We use Webpass for our small business and highly recommend them. We need reliable and fast internet for large file downloads and uploads and they always deliver. Carlos in Technical Support is amazing, and the whole staff is just great. Thumbs up way up!
I had webpass for year and renewed my subscription with them for another year and paid an upfront amount of $600. Due to Covid-19, my roommate got laid off and had to move back to her own country. This caused me to move out of our 2 bedroom apartment to a studio which does not have webpass. I used only 3 months out of the 12 months I had signed up for. Looks like there is no way to get the refund for rest of the unused service. I was not informed about this when I disconnected my service. I connected with the Billing support and was just given a flat no without a way to escalate this. Really shoddy operation specially during these tough times.
Best isp in the world.. dont sleep on them
Had a fantastic experience with Webpass, all from initial setup, to the appointment, to the ease of use. I am reviewing Victor Tam, who was my specialist coming in to setup the Webpass at my building. It went quite seamlessly - it seems that Victor has done over 100 setups here in the building. He knew exactly where to go to turn on everything, and then in my apartment. All in all, it took no more than 20 minutes to have everything set up. Additionally, Webpass is well priced in terms of subscription and speeds.
Love it, connection is really fast and reliable. Ive only seen a few issues with high latency, but service is generally excellent and really fast-. Routinely get connection speeds in excess 100Mbps and you cant beat the price! Would highly recommend Monkey Brains, also feels good not forking over $60 every month to Comcast.
The technician, Victor T., helped out with the installation. He was courteous and knowledgeable. The installation went off without a hitch. 10/10, would recommend.
Excellent internet service. I never had a problem. Best of all was my cancellation experience.
I have been using the service for the last 18 months . The last 3 months the service has deteriorated dramatically. Rarely I can see a program live or movie without a few or more problems. If it won’t change soon I will cancel!!
Installation was quick and setup immediate. Jeff (network installer) was professional and knowledgeable. The service is excellent! Great job all around.
Eric installed my internet very quickly and was more than willing to come at a later time in the day than originally scheduled because of my crazy work schedule. He was really helpful in recommending a router that gives me very fast speed!
My service is down yet again. They daisy chain the network so if one building on your block goes down, so do the rest. Also, their rude technicians aren’t worth the hassle.
Great employees. Helpful. I bill with my debit card. An email reminds me when it is due. No problems. Service has never gone down. I cant believe these other reviewers complain so much. I dont live in SF, so maybe my service is better due to my building or area.
Made the move over to Webpass. Since the install was so easy and speed so fast I am giving the service a 5 star rating. Awesome so far. Will re-review if necessary.
Webpass Oakland service has improved in 2019. During 2018, I had a few outages but they added more nodes in Oakland and 5x our speed from 200mbps to 1Gig. I get near gig speeds over ethernet even at peak times.
Just moved in and dont even have furniture yet but we have high speed internet! Thanks to Ron who was punctual (he even texted prior to his arrival to introduce himself), friendly and informative. Great answers to our questions and tips for our needs that ended up saving us time and money. Would definitely recommend!
Awesome, the guy already activated the account before coming in and just tested it when he got in my apartment. Took less than 5 minutes. Also, my apartment gave me 1 month free and he made sure it went through. Great customer service and experience.
Great download/upload speeds, and great customer service!
Great service. installment guy arrived right on time. set up was done in a minute or two. great speed.
Its fast, it works. A+
Webpass is AMAZING! The service is fast and I love that I always have full wifi signal on my phone! Installation is quick and easy and the guys are super friendly!Thank you Webpass for changing my wifi experience!
Great speeds poor service. I loved this company, was one of their first Oakland customers. Then when it came time to cancel, I called up told them I would like to cancel - they charged me two months past that. I called up to clear the debt - they removed one, sent the other to collections. Bogus.
Paying for gigabit and using the best equipment available on the market. Never got more than 200 Mbit/s, and today Im getting about 30. Customer service never picks up the phone either. Stay away.
The internet itself and the price are good, but if you choose them just hope nothing goes wrong because it will not get fixed in a timely manner.
I love Webpass. The internet they provide is fast, and usually pretty reliable, except when it isnt. The other day my internet went down, and Ron was sent out to fix it. He did an excellent job restoring my connection. He was both professional and courteous. My connection has worked without a hitch for almost a week now. Update: my connection has been up and solid for a year now since Ron came out.
Ok so I might have a better experience than others because I moved into a new apartment which was setup with updated wiring BUT I LOVE WEBPASS. I came from Ohio where 50/15 is good but my building gets 500/500 most of the time. I have only had one day of down time and Ive had the service for over 5 months. The price is amazing.
Ive had their service for 2 years, its been out maybe a total of 2 hours. Ive moved twice in that time, and both times they sent amazingly friendly technicians who hit a 10 minute appointment window, were cheerful, chatty, and knowledgable. I also scheduled appointments within 24 hours both times, no problems. The speeds Ive gotten in my 3 places have been ~720, ~850, and ~650, so not quite the 1g max, but then its distributed a bit. Still able to download whatever I want within seconds. Pretty amazing.
Bldg has had it for 2 years. Consistent, reliable service. We added every unit to the service in our condo. Incl. in our HOA dues at under $30/mo. (Probably costs more now for new bldgs. We paid an initial $4K for hardware set up on roof.
WOW! EXCELLENT ISP! In Emeryville (East Bay), paying $40/m for 100mbps, but regularly getting 200mbps in speed tests!!!! As a gamer, programmer, and streamer, I couldnt be happier. Plus I got the chance to leave Comcast, hopefully, for good!
Update - been using for a year. Other than installer left on two wifi channels on one router instead of just the 5G, the internet connection has been fast with minimal outages. Upgrading my score to 4 stars.Have not tried to reach cust svc since the initial incident - no idea if they are now responding. So glad I ditched Comcast - Webpass is 10x better than Comcast.Previous experience below:Webpass service is out. Zero internet. Zero customer service.Webpass customer support hold music of death for well over 90 minutes. Avoid.
Failing hard. Used to be excellent. Slow decline over the years and now service frequently goes out in my building and they dont even answer the phone. I gave up after 30 minutes of waiting on hold at 10pm. Thats worse than Comcast!
I have had them for a couple days now.I get well above the 200mb I was sold on both up and down. The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is I had trouble processing payment through my card, and I have to mail in a check to them. Which stinks. Their customer service was quick to respond via email. But I dislike having to send in a check every month.
After I talked to the tech support, they changed my modem, I get the speeds I want and will process a partial credit on the account due to prior poor speeds. I will keep you posted.
Have used Webpass for 2 years now. Excellent service! No hassel, no hidden fees, comes as advertised. Anecdote: I get 750Mbps down and 630Mbps up.Also super reliable, dont remember an outage over the last 2 years. Light years ahead of Comcasts terrible offerings, where the prices keep going up, plenty of hidden fees, and regular outages.
This is the worst internet service Ive ever used my whole life. The speed is super slow and it disconnects all the time. I cannot believe I get this kind of Internet in SF today, kind of reminding me of the 90s. I emailed them to change my yearly plan to monthly plan. The change didnt reflect in my billing for 2 weeks, and instead they disconnect my Internet without notifying me.
Webpass really is as good as it gets. They have an excellent customer focus and deliver extremely fast and consistent internet speed. The price is extremely reasonable, especially for the speed. Any time I speak to their customer support they are extremely responsive and quite technical. If they are available in your area, its a no-brainer. So happy I dont have to deal with Comcast anymore.
Imagine receiving all the convenience and technological advancements of a big bank with the personal service of your local Credit Union. WebPass internet is extremely fast and reliable. Even more impressive is their customer service. Setting up an appointment is a breeze. The technicians are on time, extremely friendly, and knowledge. If you call during business hours an actual person answers in no time. I hope to never have Comcast or AT&T again! Thanks WebPass!
Just moved San Francisco and was informed our building uses this company. i called and set up an appt with esther and she said a tech would be out the next week. Edsel came yesterday to connect everything but apparently the order was wrong as he was only informed to set up our internet and not both cable boxes as well. Of course i was annoyed because how could they get my order wrong? However, Edsel was amazing and promised to come back the next day (today) on his day off and he just finished setting everything up. He was such a trooper, great attitude both days and he was so helpful and gave us everything we needed! This company should be thankful they have him as he completely understands customer service. He went above and beyond. He would even call telling me he was parking, or if there would be a delay ...he kept me updated the entire time. I pay attention to little things like this and I must say he was a lifesaver. Thanks so much Edsel!
Victor Tam was very good worker and fast and he knows what he was doing. Give him 4 stars.
I’ve had webpass for about 3 weeks and I’m already experiencing problems. Initially things were fine the first week then I got an email saying they were updating my contract conditions, which I’m wondering exactly what that means. . Since then I’ve had issues with suddenly going offline, the screen freezes and I’m getting messages saying I’m not connected and I have to go to my network to search my ISP, frequently. I’m hoping these annoying problems are temporary. If not I’ll have to rethink webpass.
Used to be great! It has been SLOWWWW & inconsistent since early 2016-- problem is there are no good competitors...
Around 4th time within 2 months service not working. Webpass is unreliable and they will offer and lock you in with annual contract which does not offer any refunds.Horrible service
I really miss these guys. Had their service for perhaps two years and change. Just moved to a new location and I already regret it. When I first started it was a bit touch-and-go, rarely a sustained outage. That improved until I hadnt more than a minutes outage per month. Customer support was solid, too, and theyre small enough that each customer matters. I wish my new apartment were wired for it.
Best ISP ever
They have very little availability to set up the system. Where I live is paying for internet for me, and Ive been trying for six months to get it setup.
Ron installed and set things up in less than 15 minutes. He was perfectly on time and communicated his arrival really well. Throughout the short process he was awesome and even explained a few different things to me. This was as easy and pleasant as it gets when it comes to getting Internet setup. Customer service was simply amazing. The customer service alone makes Webpass better than any other ISP experience Ive ever had. Then I checked the speed: 250mbs down and over 500mbps up over wifi. It was even faster when I checked a few hours later. The monthly rate is an incredible deal. I was blown away by the speed and latency of the connection even at what I expected to be peak hours (no slowdown whatsoever). This level of service and customer-centered approach goes beyond anything Ive experienced. Its just the complete opposite of all the other ISPs Ive ever dealt with. I cant imagine using any other ISP. This is 5 stars across the board and the model by which any service-focused company should emulate. It will be a joy to pay my bill every month knowing its going to an ISP like Webpass.
Ok service, poor cancellation policy
Best high speed internet in town
Webpass is fantastic. Not only is it lightning fast internet service, but its extremely reliable, installation is easy to book, on-time, fast, and friendly, and they offer attractive rates including an annual billing option.
Great speeds and easy installation
Lacking Follow-Up from Cust.Serv. & Techn.Staffing as well!I have been without service since Wednesday night, and notified Tech Support on Thurs. AM, They said theyd have a Techn. at the building on Friday or Saturday the latest. However, after Gary said hed follow-up Friday night, & he did not. I call in Saturday only to discover Gary was not on duty (say he said he would be) and they do not have an available Tech to arrive on site until Tuesday of next week!!! I have also been unable to locate a Supervisor or Manager --only get a voice-mail boxes! I am outraged and insulted by this incompetence in staffing and customer service. And to boot, this is expensive internet service!
Every da*n time the internet is down for no reason and it takes a day or even more to get it fixed. CS will email or call you day after its fixed asking we see your internet is okay now?if i havent paid for one year contract, i would have cancelled this immediately and asked for refund
Fastest, cheapest internet in the bay area!!
Horrible internet service. They market 100Mbs but youre lucky to consistently get 50Mbs if that. Regularly have service problems where their servers are down or something random happens, theirtech support is always very rude. I would NOT recommend them. Save your money and time and go with someone else.
Now that Google has eaten Webpass service seems to have improved. We used to have problems with slowdowns occasionally which used to annoy the hell out of me. But no more. Im an old time subscriber and there has never been a time where I wasnt happy overall. But now Webpass is the BOMB for me. I get around 400Mbps download speeds steadily. I cant live without Webpass. Im a linux aficionado and stream roku/sling I have 4 machines 2 of which are always going. I am a speed freak and Webpass has the best stuff, man.
I had Webpass for several months while living in an SF apartment building that offered either AT&T U-Verse or Webpass. First, U-Verse gets 0/5 stars, so if given the choice, use Webpass. But at least in San Francisco, Xfinity is the best choice, and it isnt even that good. The problem with webpass is that the support is truly abysmal. The only way I am able to pay my bill is over the phone -- Im not an idiot, they just spent zero amount of effort on their online billing system and it fails -- and this office is frequently closed. It takes 1hr to get through on the phone. Frequently, the service will also go down. Unacceptable. Im moving next week and its the first time in my life that Im thrilled to move to Comcast/Xfinity.
Fast and lowest price. Getting 100mbps easily. If you have webpass in your building, count your blessings and kick AT&T or Comcast to the curb.
I can’t stress in strong enough terms how terrible of an experience I’ve had with Webpass. I could write an essay here with a litany of reasons but I’ll keep it short and sweet. It’s nearly impossible to get somebody on the line for support. They physically disconnected my internet in error twice and, in both cases, would not send a tech for a repair (which in this case was literally to plug me back in) for multiple days (3 days the first time, two days the second). In 2017, they killed my internet on multiple occasions accidentally and then had a 72 turnaround to fix their mistake...Is this degree of awful service and negligent business practice the end of the world? No. Would I prefer literally any ISP over them? Yes. There you have it.
This is the worst internet i have ever used in my life. I live next to the AT&T park, and my internet disconnect every weekend and their custom phone number never had anyone picked up. I dont understand why i spend 60 every month for some retard internet? if you guys cant even run the internet company, dont even do this, gathering hates from San Francisco?
I think Ive been a happy Webpass customer for 9 years. Real people and real good customer service and fast internet to keep up with my social networking and daytrading and movie watching. Take that Comcast!!
Upgraded my service to 1 GBPS (from 500MBPS) for free. Like all ISPs they have the occasional issue, but theyre usually pretty quick to fix. I would suggest they explore improving their after-hours support messaging, but relative to all other ISPs theyre the best.
Delivers 100Mbps no problem.I never thought I would actually see speedtest report those speeds.Simple setup and freedom from ATT!!!!
I do not use his company have to when I got in the internet from them and after I decided to cancel after a few months because the lines were very bad the technician ripped out all my wires from home phone line.it cost me a lot of time and money to repair
Charles Barr, the founder of this company, needs to learn how to respect people. Using intimidation, violence and acting like a child doesnt work.
Awesome service, reliable product and cool people!
Terrible. No internet connection for 2 straight days. Terrible customer service and terrible tech support. Technicians are idiots that do not know how to fix anything.
Moved from one webpass enabled condo to another. Doug came by to do the no charge switchover. completed in *less* than five minutes. thanked Doug and he proceeded on his way like the Johnny Appleseed of broadband connectivity.
High speed internet undermined by tone deaf customer service.
Great Sevice
Best ISP in town!
The average waiting time on phone to talk with support is 15-20 minutes.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever
When the network goes down. It takes 3 hours to wait on the phone line just to speak to a representative.
Poor customer service.
