I ended up renting from Thrifty last minute after I discovered my previously made rental was with a company that couldnt accommodate flight delays. The person behind the was cheerful, professional and helpful, which was refreshing to find at a car rental counter. All in all I was able to drive away within 15 minutes of making my reservation online. And the price wasnt exorbitant. I was traveling with a 1 year old, and after hours of delays in airports, this was the biggest relief. Very pleased with my experience here
Many local might say they you might get cheaper rate if you go into the city and get a rental. But if you have luggage with you this is the most convenient place to get your car rental. You need to take the trains from form the terminal to go to the rental center. The whole renting and returning process is quite fast and extremely efficient. When you need to go to there train terminal after returning the cars and if you have luggage with you that need trolley, then take take elevator to the lowest level then take another elevator that brings to upto the train terminal.
Well organized, connected by sky train to the airport and long term parking lot.
Take the train to the Rental car center from the arrival gates. When returning there are gas stations on the frontage road, including Costco with quick access to the car rental center.Take the escalators or elevator to the bottom floor to go back up to the other side to catch the train.
Make sure you arent up charged on your car. Lines are very long, be prepared.
Very smooth and nice car. Its pretty lame though how they try to trick you in every way imaginable before giving you the car. Pre pay tolls? Return with empty tank? Insurance? All scams. Its a suckers economy.
The car center is fine, but Hertz is the worst. With only 2 people working the counter it took me almost an hour to rent a car. I could have bought a car faster!
Okay but all summer the air tran service sucks. One of the two trains always not in service. Now Terminal 1 stop out of service and have to get off at International and hump baggage all the way to B gates
Rented with Enterprise and the return was simple and quick. The staff were really nice and helpful and was able to answer all of my questions.
Excellent easy pickup and return. Thank you Alamo
What a breeze!!! The fastest rental service Ive experienced!
In a word, efficient. A word of wisdom; if you plan on renting a car, reserve one far in advance and join their rewards program, create an account, it makes a huge difference.
Horribly designed facility. The route to the airtrain is just silly that you have to go down to go back up. Most of the time the elevators and escalators are out of service. Additionally, its usually very dirty.
Fast Service, Fun Staff but hard to find spot to deliver vehicle after rental.
Long lines at Dollar, but others were quite short. Friendly staff at Alamo. Easy to get to on the airtrain from SFO. Also pretty easy to get back to the airport, but not easy to find to drop off the car and not easy to return to the airport with a lot of bags or big bags. There is a long walk from the rental Center to the airtrain to go to SFO
Two of the three elevators to get to the the crossover to AirTran on level 1 we out. We finally had to go up from 3 to 4 to be able to vet on and go down.
The Associates were pleasant and professional when picking up the vehicle. Dropping off the vehicle was easy. The Signs were visible enough to proceed with returning the vehicle. I just wish that the price given online was the actual payment. 🤷🏾♀️
Clean environment. Great experience.
My go to place for renting vehicles... Easy access from BART.
Takes a bit to get there the first time from the airport if you dont realize there are two trains that travel through the same landing only one goes to the renal center. Watch the signage closely.
The building is lil confusing and enterprise had added more to the complexity
Easy in and easy out. Very clean cars
Everthing went smooth. I rented from AVIS. Car was ready, all I had to do was get in and drive.
I rent a car here often. Now days, selection is lacking, when we do get a car, it smells like an ashtray and not so clean. The customer service is still good. Convinent location.
Quick and easyOur rep was friendly and professilnal
Well oiled machine, but could use an additional check out attendant upon leaving airport.
Just read the signs people, its not that hard.
Rented from thrifty and when they ran out of cars I got a Hertz through Thrift!👍👍👍 All great!
3 to 4 service agents. 50 minutes to rent a car
Easy peasy!
They do a nice job. Just give yourself an extra 15 min for the airtrain
Make sure you have plenty of time. Many people traveling and renting cars.
Great service from pickup to return
Plan extra 30-45min to a trip from/to terminal from the rental center.
Still operating 24 hours so I was able to breeze in and out for rental
Pick-up is great. Get off the AirTrain, walk straight back to most agencies.Return is awful. Getting BACK to the AirTrain is a labyrinthine mess of elevator/hike/escalator.
Easy access
Efficient.
Very convenient facility.
Its good
It was a very busy place to rent a car
Have rented cars from SFO several times, mostly went well,
Horrible. Over 3 hours to retrieve a vehicle. During a holiday weekend o ky 1 employee working the counter. Loterally over 100 people in line.
Good fast service low rates. If going from SFO, across one of the bridges, Budget will charge you $12, what a RIP off!
The line was outrageously long. And outrageously slow moving. Budget an hour to pick up your car keys....
Easy..friendly..recommend
Alamo is my favorite.Always helpful 🥰
Older facility but nice staff. The Rental car center is near the end of the AirTrain line. So allow some time to get to and from the Terminals. Seems like a 5-10 min ride on the AirTrain. Nice set up though. I left my prescription sunglasses in the car and when I went back they had them set aside for me.
Easy Peasy!!
Great staff at National Car rental
Great staff was on my way very quickly
Great reception
Fast and easy
Clumsy with bags, too much up and down by elevators, but air train still beats shuttle buses
My favorite rental car center on earth
I’ve never had an issue at this location. Everytime has been as smooth as butter.
Fast service
Poor treatment of non tourists.
NOTE from submitter): NOT for SFO! Meant for SJC (San Jose).Very convenient, No shuttle, well laid out, easy 👍
Always awesome, reliable, quick service, both coming and going. Good layout with pickup counters and skytrain access.
Car rental whats to say
Easy to get to and easy exit
The Hertz here gets 4 stars (one off for one.untrained employee giving me.flat out wrong info), and 2 stars for the Rental facility. Broken escalator, slow elevators, trash on the floors, dirty walls, and slow tram from terminal.
Horrible place, no water in airport, took 2 hours to get through passport control and bag reclaim. Then it was like a James Bond thriller to find the car rental. If it was like this in Heathrow there would be uproar.
Great collection of cars
Easy to locate the rental counter and easy to get to the rental car
Slow customer service. Even for President’s circle...
The place is well designed and has all the companies for Car ranting Don’t do online reservation go and Check for the best price between the companies
Just dandy
Pm Thursday afternoon several large agencies had no cars left
Easy to get too and from
Inside directions are very confusing
Easy and convenience
Yee
Almost all landlords in a building. Toilets are also available and there are elevators as well as elevators. Very good and free with the Airtrain accessible from the SFO.The departure from the parking garage with a car completely foreign to me was already a bit chaotic, as we drove straight to the northwest through the Bay Area and you can not feel like stopping for hours. Better directly to the Pacific, then you are within 15 minutes out of San Francisco. Here are also the hotels better and cheaper!
Good service, prestige.
Good attention, at times a little delayed by the influx of passengers.
