Outstanding service, food and ambiance! We were fortunate to get seating for a party of 10 on a Saturday by reserving in advance. And we were lucky to get window seating. But looking at round the venue, you can also enjoy the beautiful views of the bay from other interior tables thanks to the tiered seating. The food was outstanding! Most of our party had seafood or salads, and we had a few that were ordered the chicken. Everyone was very pleased with their choices. I can attest that scallops and stuffed salmon dishes were extremely well prepared and delicious. For the quality of food and ambiance, I thought it was reasonably priced. My only critique is that the Old Fashioned cocktail was a little watered down with too much ice and not enough bourbon. For the price of that drink, I expected a little more. But overall, the service was also very professional and attentive. We were definitely not disappointed! Highly recommended!
The best thing is the view, good service sndthe food regular, prices high. The Host was a clown, I asked him for a table next to the windows and he did not give it to me because he said its for those who reserve. All the time I was there, almost an hour and a half, only one reserved table arrived and 4 or 5 tables were available next to the window. I was invited not to return.
We stopped into McCormicks to enjoy an afternoon cocktail and some appetizers. We had a wonderful table in the bar with incredible views of the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz. For appetizers we ordered a side of french fries which were so well prepared! My friends ordered some oysters which they really enjoyed. The bartenders made a delicious cocktail and this was a great spot for cocktail.
Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, we had a party of 14 and everyone one was well taken care of. Our party included 5 children ages 2 to 7 food was great, menu is not super long so choosing wont be difficult. They also have a full bar and can make anything my drinks that were made was excellent. Lastly the view of the Bay is great highly recommend a window table
Wanted to love this place because 6 or 7 years ago I had lunch here and it was amazing but sadly as soon as we arrived it had the feeling of being a bit tired….it has been a rough 18 months for restaurants so no problem….we were there for a special birthday celebration but we didn’t tell them so the fact that we were a row away from the window at the far end of the restaurant is also to be forgiven BUT having eaten the pretty poor seafood appetizers we decided to order steaks in the hope that we could rescue the evening….and they were excellent! I am sure once we get beyond the pandemic this restaurant will return to the standards that they have previously set for themselves but sadly right now I could only give it 3 stars. Staff were lovely…feel kinda bad for the 3 stars but hope to give it 5 next time 👍
Horrible service, don’t worry about this awful place with horrible reviews on YELPas well. The service is super bad especially if you are a person of color. The manager is mannerless with no respect for people for color, the food is horrible- till you are into over cooked stake after two orders sent back.WASTE OF TIME & MONEY!!!!!
Good food. Polite and friendly staff. View would be great on a clear day as well.
INCREDIBLE view!!!! Just amazing!! Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend this place for a fancy dinner and a night out for a special occasion.
Food mediocre for the price. Wait staff were outstanding. Bar staff and host snooty. Great views but many better places in city.
A very enjoyable meal. Will paced no rushing, a little costly, but this is no MC D,S . I enjoyed the view the meal the whole experience. I will go back. A very relaxed day.
Food 4 Standard, not Stellar; Ambiance 6 for the view, sit on the quieter, classier side before passing the wine rack; Service 3 for the amount of staff they have you’d think you shouldn’t have to ask for water or more bread (which they never brought); the service has gone downhill. We come every year to celebrate my son’s birthday at his favorite restaurant and they would have special menus printed and a complimentary dessert. This past visit, none of that. They obviously stopped reading the notes in OpenTable so be sure to tell your server personally. Go just for the view. 4 people; $148
The food was really great. My husband I shared the Lobster dip and each got the Lobster and Shrimp stuffed salmon. Both were really good. Service was decent and the atmosphere is nice. I recommend getting a table by the window if you can. The view is great.
Great food, excellent service and an unbeatable view. Its nice place to splurge on a good meal
Great atmosphere and dining experience. Food was delicious and staff was professional and courteous. So glad vaccination cards were mandatory.
Love the view at this dine. Great food, they improvised a vegetarian dish for my SO, that came out delicious. You pay for what you get here and I love it :).
I went there to eat on a Wednesday 6/09/21. The place was almost empty. The hostess went to sit us down all the way to the end of the the restaurant at the last two tables where the sun was hitting the table. There were six other empty tables before our table that the sun was not hitting. When I asked to move to the table next to our table that the sun was not hitting, she replied that there was no waiter for that table. I called to make a reservation and they said to just walk in because they have plenty of tables. I decided to walk out because I felt I was not treated like a person. When the hostess saw us walking out she decided to give us another option that I would have taken if I wasn’t dissatisfied. The view is nice in the restaurant, but not the hostess. She should give more options.
After several days of eating over priced seafood in the bay area we decided that today we wanted steak. The filet was excellent and in line with other steakhouses. Our waitress was awesome, after a long day of walking she kept our iced teas full!
Ambience was very nice. Service was good. Food was good but could have been better given the price.
The server was good. The food is. Another story very bland. This is a tourist trap 101. Super expensive and definitely not worth it to many other choices..
Spectacular view of the Pacific. Food was awesome and very reasonably priced for the tourist area. I highly recommend more than some inland Mccormicks.
Corrie was a nice server but Yao is a jerk. Every time I come here it’s something different with him, Calling my wife sir, not telling us where the bathroom is saying it’s only for customers when we were just seated outside. The lobster bisque is one of the best. The filet mignon is not all that great. The crème brûlée was good
I came into dinner with high hopes, it has beautiful views and a wide range of selections for drinks. However, the service was subpar and the food was overpriced for the quality. Our server rarely checked up on our dinner and only refilled our waters after we already got dessert. The vegetables that came along with my main were underdone and bland, the creme brûlée we ordered was gritty and overcooked. The drinks were very good, but our server never checked to see if we wanted to get more during our dinner experience. Truly disappointing.
This is a very nice restaurant. The view is amazing! I had a excellent meal from the appetizer to the main course and finishing with dessert every bite was delicious! The service was amazing our waitress was extremely attentive. My family and I had such a great experience here I highly recommend having a meal here!
The food tasted great. I would have liked a little more for the cost.
If you enjoy having your meal with a view, this is a good restaurant to go to. Having your meal while looking at the Bay is a very nice experience. I was hoping the meal would have been just as great, but unfortunately it was just okay. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen, but first impressions tend to be a lasting one. The bread served was cold, the butter much cooler (which made for a very awkward time buttering the bread). Ordered the pacific snapper (grilled), with mashed potatoes and veggies. The presentation was lacking, and the fish could have used a bit more seasoning/flavorings. The veggies were a bit overcooked. I also ordered a side of the gruyère truffle mac and cheese, which was good. My dinner partner had oysters (good) and the ahi tuna (okay). The dining space is a big size and has an elevated seating area as well. Great ambiance. Restrooms are downstairs (not sure if theres an elevator that one could use. Restroom was clean and had more than 3 stalls (always a plus).Cost of entrées are in $20s and $30s. Theres also a 6% surcharge thats added to your check/bill
Best Filet in San Francisco. I was traveling to SF from Dallas for business. I ordered a Filet well done and it was cooked to a tender perfection! Service was great. Atmosphere was amazing. Great view. Also tried the Upside Down Carmel Apple Walnut Pie with cinnamon ice cream and it was delicious! I smiled the entire time I ate there. I absolutely recommend this place and will eat here EVERY time I visit San Fran. 5 STARS!!
Zero dress code. Baseball caps all around. Food was good.
Had a bartender as a server... it was awesome. Dude was patient, friendly and my drink was bomb!
Mei was very polite and soft spoken, providing a calming dining experience. As for the food itself, it was pretty bland & basic. My stars mainly go to Mei even though she wouldve gotten five, but the food dragged it down a notch.
Outstanding! My family and I decided to go here for my girlfriends birthday dinner. I placed the reservation with no problems on Open Table, even for being a peek time of 6:30pm. I called in and let them know we were celebrating a birthday, and also requested a view of the bay. Both requests were accommodated perfectly, even went above and beyond by customizing the menu with the header of Happy Birthday Katherine and the date! I couldnt tell you how special this made her feel to see this, and even better they rolled up our menus, put a bow on them, and presented them to us at the end to take home. My girlfriend ordered their 7oz Filet Mignon and of course added the Oscar style and garlic mashed potatoes to accompany her steak. She absolutely loved it! From her words of melt in my mouth filet and delicious crab, she was in heaven with her meal. Prior to her meal, we split a wedge salad, which even when split was still a great portion and beautiful presentation. For my meal, I am more of a rib-eye lover, so was a little bummed to see a top sirloin or porterhouse as my alternatives. However this restaurant is know for its sea food so I was not too bummed, especially when the top sirloin came out perfectly with still some tenderness and good flavor. Plus to accompany the steaks they garnish the plate with some great grilled vegetables. My other family members ordered the pan seared scallops and then the sea scallop and shrimp Newberg. Both of them loved their seafood dishes and were happy with the size of the scallops as well. Then to top it off, our waiter, Glen, brought out a delicious cake with ice cream and a lit candle for us to sing a little birthday song for her. All in all, the food was outstanding and the service was very professional and on point, even with the manager stopping by and asking for drink refills after delivering the meal (did not catch her name). Next visit into San Francisco we will make sure to plan a meal at this beautiful restaurant and enjoy the view of the bay without question!
Highly recommended. Food and service is excellent.
Went to this restaurant last tuesday night was almost empty the host was Ricardo who took us way to the back of the restaurant passing about 20 empty tables and booths i asked to be seated at one of the tables and was informed the tables were all reserved which i found hard to believe I asked to speak to the manager whose name was steve unfortunatetly there 2 managers named steve who work there and I dont know which one it was. Ricardo wouldnt identify himself had to ask a waiter his name we were seated at a decent table location and waited about 10 minutes for steve who treated me with disdain which I had hard time understanding he didnt have a problem with Ricardo not identifying himself and seating someone far from the empty tables in the middle of the restaurant at no time did I raise my voice or use profanity in prior visits had never had problems like this the menu was very limited so dont read menus from online you will be disappointed at the selection available I wont return to this place if Ricardo and Steve still work there are too many good restaurants to eat at to get insulted ///update landrys restaurants replied to review, the questions asked had nothing to do with review and makes them seem like they are doing something when they are not, as disappointed as I am with the restaurant even more so with corporate if you look to the bottom of the ratings there are 106 not recommended there are many with same complaints so it seems to be a normal occurence very sad
We chose to eat here for our final meal in San Francisco and it was an excellent choice. We had to wait a while despite having a reservation, but 2 busloads of people walked in ahead of us, so we cut them some slack. The service was excellent, even though the place was hopping, and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed both steak and seafood, but the seafood was, by far, the better choice. The salmon, both stuffed and grilled, was incredible. The sea scallops were also very good. And the warm blueberry buckle was the best dessert on the menu, by far. But the VIEW! We had a fantastic table with a beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay - a wonderful way to end our California vacation.
Grilled octopus is a must! Also the rib eye is cooked to perfection!
Still a favorite though I really missed the Petrale Sole. Hope it returns to menu soon
Nice views of the bay, good food, good service....the only slight knock I might offer is what I felt was a limited entree menu. But everything that we tried was exceptional and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Views for daze. Food is top notch just dont expect McDonalds prices. Yum is served here.
Delicious seafood with an excellent seaside view. Whats not to love?
The best view you can get out of Ghirardelli Square. Prices are above average but the view worth it.
Food was great, stuffed salmon is to die for! And their fiket mignon is exquisite!
Great food and great service. Good collection of wine and to top it the view from the restaurant is amazing. This place is a must for good time.
Good food, nice service and beautiful view of San Francisco. One of the most beautiful views of San Francisco. Good for a great time with friends and family.
A great place to dine with family for occasion. Food is great and the service is fast. Great view from restaurant. Proper dressing.
Great place for a wine and dine experience...
A beautiful peaceful place to eat! My hubbys favorite place, so we made the trip from the valley to S.F so he could have his Salmon Club sandwich for his b-day. 😍💖
Cocktails are the best and its happy hour 3pm until 6pm weekdays, lovely views 😍
An amazing view. Tasty steak and lobster. Great service. Even had my favorite bottle of vino! Cheers. GO HERE!
I wanted to like this place, I really did. Nice location, good views. But my experience was very disappointing.1) First, we reserved a table and requested a window seat, mentioning it was our 1st anniversary. When we got there, the host seated us in the middle of the restaurant. When I mentioned we had specifically requested a window seat, he unapologetically told me tough luck in more or less words.2) We were determined not to let this get in the way of our evening. However, then it took the waitress approximately 30 minutes to come by and ask what wed like to drink. She mentioned there had been a mix-up in who our server was. At this point, we were starting to get a little frustrated.3) When we went to order, both the Oysters and the crab cakes were out for appetizers. So I decided to just get the grilled Salmon and my wife got the Dungeness Crab Cakes. Both were awful for the price, Ive had better salmon at Red Robin. The waitress probably checked on us 2-3 times during the entire hour and a half we were there. The place was a horrible and frustrating experience. The vibe seemed very stand offish and snotty. Id never go back, and I almost never leave negative reviews.
Our Meal was delicious! Our filet mignon staek was so tender it felt like it melted in your mouth! And there non alcoholic Arnold palmer drink was so good to! Oh and I cant forget my Ceasar salad with sauted shrimp was sooo delicious!! You must try it! Over my birthday meal was amazing! Thanks to staff who waited on us!
Fabulous!! Also reasonable for the quality and service- ask for Giovanni (server) he’s super fabulous and I feel you need to tip him well for the exceptionally good service he gives!!! Wonderful!
Cool bar overlooking the bay and alcatraz. Not just a tourist location. The staff is always nice and the food is delightful
A wonderful, delicious dinner at an elegant restaurant - great food, gracious attentive service and scenery and a setting to die for.
Exceptional views, good service and better than average food with a limited seafood selection.
The view is amazing! I reeeally like this place but the food it’s not good at all! We ordered a lot of different plates and none of them was good :(. The service is good.I would come back just for some drinks, not for the food.
Loved the seafood stuffed salmon, crabcakes and lobster/crab/artichoke dip! Great service.
If you are looking for a quiet place and nice food then this is the perfect location.
Classy place. Beautiful view. Food was ok.
Extremely slow. Unfriendly staff. Food is good though.
Great view of bay and great service 👍
The mac n cheese is great for the kids I had the herb chicken and it was delicious
Great view! Nice atmosphere. Clam chowder and sour dough bread great! Poor service, took order, brought check. Didnt check up or refill drinks had to flag down. Atlantic Salmon mushy asked for lemons didnt bring had to flag someone else and didnt get until almost done with food. Snapper was blah. Food overpriced for taste. First and last time.
Best views in town. Great seafood dishes
We had to sit outside because we wasnt vaccinated When no heat lamps no lights service was poor but the food was good
Great waitstaff, horrible management. We came in to the restaurant the day before my wife’s birthday to make a reservation for the following day. Upon arrival the next day not only did they make our reservation they did not reserve the table that Steve pointed to and told us he would put a reserve sign on it for us.The person at the counter when you walk in was very short and cold with us and my opinion he did not care or want to hear what we had to say.Needless to say we will not be returning.
We were in the city recently to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary and wanted to dine somwhere nice.It was between here and Scomas(which I highly recommend). We went on 2/9 which was a Saturday. It was after the dinner rush and we did not have reservations(decided location almost late in the day&didnt mind if we needed to wait) Told buy guests let that were leaving there was plenty of seating available in the bar so we chose table up there. The host was nice and our server, Corrie did a great job. She was very friendly, attentive and congratulated us on our celebration(complemented my sparkly brazier😉). My lavender mojito was good(little light on the lavender but still good). My Mahi Mahi was ok. Paying extra money for a side of garlic mashed potatoes that were cold and had NO garlic was disappointing. Besides being cold & no garlic they were the consistency of watery instant mashed. Corrie apologized and brought new. They were hot but again NO garlic, no flavor. My husband was disappointed in his 38$steak. We didnt let it ruin our evening but we were expecting more from this restaurant that had such high remarks and prices. Maybe off night for chef and they ran out of potatoes? Sorry, Scomas for our next trip.
The place is a little pricey and it took a while to get served. But the view of the water made it all better.
Great restaurant with good quality food and great service
Great place with amazing food and the view of the bay cant be better than that, the service was good but not great, a little expensive but not that expensive consider the average in San Francisco
Really bad customer service, starting from the seater, the server, and management. They didnt care that I was eating standing up the whole time. I was seated on my own and had to be in a stool chair. I needed to be sat in a regular table and chair. The customer service level was horrible for a restaurant like that. Im from Florida and we can really show them what is customer service.
Here is the ideal environment. Delicious food and friendly staff. I really like your dishes. From what I tasted everything was delicious.
Nice service and delicious food.
Good service good food and amazing views.
This place was ok....I have to be honest that I didnt like the crab louis salad that I had. The crab meat was good, but I didnt like the shrimp at all. The rest of the salad was typical (romain, cucumbers, tomato, etc). That being said, the dessert was very good as was the service. The view was spectacular. For those reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 3.
Service was okay and the food was fresh and delicious. The Dungeness crab, mango and avocado was perfect.
