Beautiful venue. Amazing and stunning artwork everywhere. Unique architecture all over the place. The theatre/stage is pretty cool too. Worth renting out for or going and checking out their events.

What a gem hidden away in the city. The fact that the lobby is a gallery ups there game. Try out the balcony during intermission. Huzzah for gender neutral bathroom. Cozy theater! Great lighting.

Its really all about the show, and violet, the musical was pretty darn amazing.Alcazar is a pretty theater. It has a beautiful, historic looking exterior. Most of the interior is also very well-maintained.Seats are not comfortable.Mixed gender bathroom is really pretty nasty. To start with, the bathroom is way too small for the occupancy of the theater. Theres no attention to making the bathroom more modern or more usable. Its packed with standard, poorly constructed American bathroom partitions, the kind that go go down to the floor, and with huge gaps between the doors. Im all for mixed-gender bathroom facilities, but theres no reason 2 Pack this many people into that small of a space with such poor fixtures and privacy partitions

Beautiful theater, great seating arrangement so that all seats have great view and proximity to the stage. The sound was also good. Clean, interesting architecturally.

Criticisms of the venue and the audio setup arent really worth considering if youre just looking to have a good night out with a friend or partner.I was lucky enough to be seated in the front row for a viewing of Crazy for You, and I wasnt disappointed. The cast were incredible, with the performance and choreography being exciting the whole way through. If youre looking for something to do, but are on the fence about seeing a play then go to this! You surely wont be disappointed.

Beautifully built and remodeled. I love going to the Alcazar. The stage is very long and the seating section is very shallow, so you always have a good seat.

To start: it has legroom! Too few theaters dont leave room for those of us with longer legs at the Alcazar I didnt bump my knees once. The seats are comfortable, the room is wide and not super deep giving you a good range of seating that can see the stage well. Move too far from one side to the other and youll see into the wings but youll get that with a wide seating arrangement.Im not happy with the sound system. It feels like an after-thought, perhaps there wasnt enough money left after the other updates that were done. The placement of the speakers means people on the wings get blasted and people in the middle can lose some of whats said if anyone around them is making noise. Also, and this may just be the show Ive seen, the actors are set too hard on the microphone. In a theater like this I would expect the actors to project into the audience and only leverage microphones as a soft backing or when the chorus is going. Thats not the case here, the mixer has the microphones set hard which disassociates the voice from the actor on the stage. This can be corrected, it just requires the sound engineer and the director to have a good chat and try sitting in different spots to find the right balance (just like setting up the lights, it takes some work). The thing that cant be fixed is the entrance. A hallway that leads to the elevator and the staircase is where you are welcomed and purchase/pick up tickets from will-call. Two couples waiting and everyone else is on the street. Perhaps they can open the house earlier and handle these transactions on top of the stair?

Fine performance, decent sound, but chairs a bit close together and little space for hanging out before/after the show. Plus they ran out of (expensive bottled) water and have no drinking fountains :(

There is a first guitar called Reminiscences of the Alhambra, written in the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. The Moors who believed in Islam lived here, and their architectural art is famous for its complex and elaborate sculptures. San Francisco’s Alcazar Theatre is a masterpiece of the Moorish architecture. It is now a theatre, although small but worth seeing.
