I have spent years going back and forth between barbers and hairstylist searching for the best cut. Fortunate for me, Tyson is both stylist and barber. His feedback and attention to detail is phenomenal and I finally found a style tailored just for me. I definitely would recommend Tyson to anyone who wants to find their perfect style and the best service possible. Looking forward to coming back.

The best experience Ive ever had in a barbershop. Drove all the way down from Los Angeles after I saw a video featuring Tyson on a popular mens fashion channel on YouTube. I felt like hes a man whos expert at what he does, and boy was I right!Tyson was warm and welcoming. He made me feel comfortable, and I felt like Ive been getting my haircut from him for years. Hes extremely knowledgeable about hair styling among many other services he provides that are listed on his website.Tyson paid attention to my hair type, face shape, and asked me several questions about what products I used, how I would like to style my hair and so on. He recommended the kind of hairstyle that is best for me. We had a great conversation while he carefully cut my hair with scissors, clippers, and a straight razor! Tyson then took the time to give me advice on styling my hair and using the right product. Tyson also has his own product line which has some high quality hair products.I dont know how Tyson provides such great service and charges so little. 22 year old tattoo-clad stylists with a buzz cut charge $60-100 for a haircut in LA, and give you... a buzz cut. This man must really like what he does and it shows. A true perfectionist! I would definitely stop by here next time Im in San Diego.

We are lucky to have Tyson an Urban Hair Lounge right here in the OB community! The location and long list of positive reviews compelled me to make an appointment following a difficult search for a new barber. My longtime barber left town and the search is now over. Tyson is a master barber and has helped me find a new slightly longer hair style that I love! The Lounge is just that a cool, relaxing place to hang out while Tyson does his art. Thanks!

I have curly hair and had looked for a curly stylist for literally 3 1/2 years. I was going up to LA as well to check out stylists who supposedly specialized in curly hair and were highly recommended on Yelp. Was invariably unimpressed.Finally I pretty much gave up on curly specialists and resigned to getting my hair cut in OB for cheap. Went to Details and randomly got connected to Tyson. Before I let him cut I asked him how he does curly hair. Within 2 minutes I knew he was not BS.He knows his curly hair and knows it requires a completely different approach than standard hair. He had intelligent things to say about my own hair. Not to mention hes been cutting his partners curly hair for years. After 1 cut I knew I would not go to anyone else ever again. I was heartbroken when I called to schedule my next appointment and found out he left! I called back a couple times to plead with them to give me his number and then was super stoked to find out he opened his own place in OB.I honestly cannot recommend another service business in OB higher than I can recommend Tyson for cutting hair. People who can cut curly hair are goddamn magicians. My girlfriend goes to see him now too for color and cut.Great stylist, awesome dude. I would not write this long of a recommendation if he didnt deserve it 100%.

Tyson took more time explaining to me how to keep my beard properly groomed in the future and why more than anyone I have ever worked with. A true perfectionist. Not only was he very helpful but had extra time so when he heard I was going in for an interview, he upgraded me to a hot towel/straight edge shave. Thanks Tyson!

Tysons approach to Barbering is on a level all by itself..Coming from a family of Italian Barbers, I havent seen someone of his skills since I was a child, and no one on the scene today on par..If youre a man, you should know, theres a huge difference between a Barber, and the hair stylist who cuts your hair.. two totally different things..Classically trained in the Art.. he applies himself like no other that Im aware of..His understanding of skin, and abilities w a straight razor are crazyIve been going to him for years, and even though Ive moved from the downtown area, I make the trip every three weeks from Del Mar, RSF area, as theres no one else Ive been able to find in todays field..Oddly he doesnt charge more than standard, and Ive not been able to talk him into moving a little more North Coastal, where hed be able to charge double..Mans no motivated by money, but having good clients and making sure each of them are happy..Have met a number of his other clients, they all feel the same way..Tip big, hes worth it..

Tyson was highly recommended to me by my good buddy Mike S. I knew Mike S. really liked Tyson since he doesnt have a car and spends about $30 just on Lyft or Uber to get to his appointment. Tyson really knows his stuff, I have never had such a great experience in a salon. He is a true professional and also very cool and friendly. Check him out for sure, you will not be disappointed!
