Our arborist, Justin, was very passionate about trees and fun to talk to (he told me some of our palms were around when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and he gave me helpful tips on how to revive a peach tree - completely unrelated to the job!) Then I received a detailed online proposal and I could review what I wanted/didnt want done to the trees and check out pricing based on my preferences. I LOVED that - so easy to use and it really left the decision-making up to me without any pressure. Then I submitted our proposal back to the office and a couple weeks later, the job is done. I used them earlier this year to prune a giant pine tree in my backyard. I got several estimates and they werent the cheapest but they were worth every penny I paid. The crew was professional, they explained everything, they were on time, and they left my yard cleaner than they found it! I recommend them to everyone who asks about tree trimming! Awesome service. We needed to remove a date palm infested with WEEVILS. They came in and were thorough with the estimate and started the job right after. Victor, Josh and Benjamin did an amazing job at our house today. We had a lot of things for them to do and they got it all done with the better part of the afternoon to spare. They removed two tree-like Bougainvillea vines, a huge stump, a big old wooden shade structure and they carefully laced a Chinese Elm tree. I was a little worried about the tree being pruned too hard but they explained in the walk through how it would help the health of the tree to remove some weight from the side it was favoring. It looks so much better now I couldnt be happier. They cleaned up all trimmings leaving the place looking better than they left it. Thanks guys!

We have a poplar in my yard, planted during the Vietnam era. Honestly, we love this tree and it was one of the reasons we bought the home way back when. Unfortunately a large part of it (its a pretty big tree) was covering the solar panels. I needed to safely remove one whole side at the split, just about 6 feet up. Coastal had good reviews so I called them, hoping to save as much of the tree as we could while still freeing up the solar panels. Scheduling was a challenge, both for the initial bid and then, when they canceled the first time I though I had made a mistake. When the guys got here though, I couldnt have been happier. Super pro, they took great pains to clear off the deck and patio before dropping down protective mats and plywood (some of those sections were upwards of 400 pounds Im guessing). They dropped that half of tree right between the house and the pergola no problem, cut it up and hauled it out, leaving the backyard (and the roof, lol!) cleaner than when theyd showed up. Super professional from the time I reached-out through completion. Had a large magnolia and olive tree assessed by an arborist on Friday and then trimmed the following Wednesday. Team of 4 showed-up on time and did an amazing job. Highly recommended.

Justin was the arborist, and the men who trimmed the trees (and replaced one) were Victor, Brian, Evan, and Ben. I was so impressed with the men who were very knowledgeable and took great care to properly shape the trees and explained as they strategized. They also sanitized their tools regularly to avoid spreading anything between trees. They were very friendly and took Covid precautions. Their clean up was excellent and I will definitely use them again!

Our Canary Date Palm was showing signs of weevil infestation. Coastal Tree Care did a one-time external and systemic treatment. They came back a month later and added systemic. The tree is holding its own, has two sets of new growth at the top. This tree survived leaf wilt and I couldnt let it go down without a fight. It seems it may be able to survive Southern Californias palm weevils. As Justin from Coastal said, We are cautiously optimistic.

Ive used Coastal Tree Care several times and each time was great from beginning to end. They have always been very friendly and tried to get me on the schedule as soon as possible. Emails are answered quick and they call when they are on their way which is a nice perk. Each time theyve been to my home there is no trace of them after. Everything is cleaned up nicely. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

I live in a densely populated area of La Jolla. Recently my neighbor had their trees trimmed and, despite efforts to protect our property, a branch impacted and damaged our fountain. The worker from Coastal Tree Care was very apologetic and gave me a card so I could call to resolve the issue. I should preface this by saying this isn’t the first time we’ve had damage resulting from our neighbor trimming their trees. Both tree companies took steps to protect our property, both times there was damage, both times the problems were addressed. This time however, Joseph, with Coastal Trees Care really stepped up. He immediately searched for an expert with the very specialized ability to repair a one of a kind fountain that is very important to us. Communication was constant and positive. The repair was fast and professional. Joseph was hands on all the way through the re-installation of the fountain. Our fountain is good as new and, by the way, they did a great job on our neighbors trees! I can’t say enough about the professionalism and integrity of Joseph Eves and Coastal Tree Care.

Your company cant drive trucks to save their life. Nearly cost me my life. I had to slam on my brakes and come to a complete stop from a 55 when the duo decided to move over from a lane that wasnt moving. Because of your lousy driver who did not know where they were going and decided to cut over 4 lanes of traffic. And hopefully this allows you to properly train people how to drive. The job isnt worth their lives or the other people on the road. Prioritize safe driving over needing to get to an exit.

These guys did a great job from the start. Justin came out and gave me a solid estimate, service was scheduled later that day and everything was seamless. The crew that came out to trim my tree was super professional, very knowledgeable and explained exactly what I should do and expect with future growth. My particular situation presented a challenge with where the tree was in relation to my house and my neighbors house as well as sat on a very steep incline and these guys handled it perfectly. They left no mess, offered to sweep areas that werent even affected by the trimming. 5/5 for sure. Wont ever use anyone else.

We needed a new tree care company after 25 years with our prior company. Tried Coastal Tree for a very challenging project: Major pruning of our ancient eucalyptus in rather confined backyard space, while saving our precarious 50-year-old tree house. Josh and his crew did a great job on branches reaching 20+ feet above the prior knuckles which were already 20+ feet from the ground, with the large treehouse and its deck perched in between. They were professional, careful, and did through cleanup. Their pricing was in the ballpark of the other bids we got. I suspect the project took longer than anticipated because of the logistics but they simply finished the job true to their bid. Sarah in the office is responsive and courteous. Altogether, a very good experience!

We needed a very large tree cut down after a major rainstorm. The crew arrived early and took down the entire tree . The crew was efficient and did a very good job of cleaning up the debris after the tree was felled. They also saved 4 very nice long logs from the tree and cut the logs in half, so we could see the beautiful grain. We will make something special with one of the long logs. The crew was professional and polite. A very good experience with this company.

The most excellent tree company that I have used, bar none! They do a fabulous job of trimming trees, and removing them if that is what you would like! They also take great care not to hurt or damage other trees and plants that are nearby, as well as being careful of the neighbors trees, too, which is very important! And after the job is completed they do an equally good job of cleaning up so that you dont even know that they have done any work! I cant say enough for this tree company ... it is the unqualified best that I have used!!! I had tried two other tree trimming companies and both companies damaged tow of my nearby trees and one of these companies made my neighbor extremelly angry because he dropped branches in his yard and broke branches on several of his trees ... and continued doing it even after he had complained! Not good ... and after those experiences I will never use any company other than Coastal Tree Care since they such great care and are simply the best tree company out there! Oh! And their prices were less than both of the other nasty tree companies that I used ... cant beat that! Use Coastal Tree Care, and I think that you will agree ... Owner Joseph is super nice and knowledgeable about trees. He spent a long time with me and patiently answered all of my many questions. He treated my Aleppo Pines for Pine Bark Beetle. Based on my research, he used the most effective product available, in the correct manner, not a do-it-yourself type job. Heres a photo of them trimming my Cottonwood tree. Im happy with some of the work of Coastal Tree Care. But then I hired them to trim one of the pines. They did a terrible job, butchering the tree in less than 40 min. It was a bad result, and a hack job in more than one sense. I got my regular gardener to do the other pine, and he and his crew spent 6 total hours, doing an amazing job, at less than a third of the price. So, some good, some bad. Also, Joseph very confidently misidentified my precious ficus pumila (creeping fig) as hawthorne, and every other person who has set foot on my property who is remotely familiar with plants knows a fig when they see it. Its not even similar to hawthorne. If he didnt know, he should have admitted he didnt know, rather than cause me problems.
