I have been training here for a while and can say that Alfredo is one of the kindest human beings I have met. He is just good people! He is an excellent instructor and motivator! I can honestly say that if it wasnt for him, Id probably weigh an extra 30 lbs and be miserable!

I have taken my two daughter many different places in San Diego for lessons of different kinds. This is THE place if you have kids. Their adult classes seem great also, but I have not tried them. Barum Jiu-Jitsu really is amazing. It it combines a caring atmosphere with great training. Look no further.

Barum is one of a kind.They are so welcoming and loving. The facility is located in a naturally secure and well maintained campus. The instruction is amazing and the feeling at the academy is super nice, like the feeling you used to get on saturday mornings when you were a kid.The owner Alfredo and his wife Graziela run this academy like a Jiu Jitsu Academy deserves. The kids classes are super fun, safe, technical and motivating.The 6am class is filled with skill and diversity. The daytime classes are very challenging and skillfully delivered. The night classes make sure you fall asleep like a baby when the day is done.I would recommend this home to ANYONE who wants to:1. Start Learning or Training the Gentle Art of Jiu Jitsu2. Ive been training here since March after being off the mats for almost 4 years and I am very fortunate to have made this decision. Alfredo is a great instructor who conveys his passion and positive attitude on a daily basis. Everyone knows that the attitude of the dojo is a reflection of the instructor. Barum Jiu-jitsu is my home away from home where I can roll at 6am, noon or at 6pm everyday. Classes will have multiple black belts attending. You can train hard or just roll, no one will come off with your arm or foot. Im 40 years old with a wife, 2 kids and have a client facing job. Thankfully I have Barum Jiu-jitsu to look forward when I need me time.Also, best open mat on Sundays in San Diego.

Amazing gym. Unparalleled instruction by Alfredo Barum. Multiple classes everyday. Lots of students, but never too many where you dont get personal attention from a black belt. Multiple black belts visit, train and teach so you get all kinds of styles. Low price, and never is there a market push like Gracie Barra. I lost 40 lbs in the first 6 months training here. There are hundreds of jiu jitsu gyms in San Diego. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Professor Alfredo and staff are great people, very family oriented. I feel welcome when I walk in and the instruction is high level. This is certainly a great place to learn the wonderful sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Osssssssssssssss
