Unprofessional, rude, and ghetto.If I could give ZERO stars I would. Perhaps, these people are used to dealing with dirtbags and bottom barrel individuals. I called to check the status of my case and explain I had made a similar phone call 4 weeks ago, when the representative heard me say opposite of what she was stating she proceeded to get loud, yell and state she wasnt here to argue. Word of advice maam, get a new job because you are not fit for customer service. Just as I conveyed to her, she may be used to talking like that to other individuals, but she will not speak to me that way. I have an interstate child support with Colorado and those representatives are respectful and helpful. Ill be conducting business through them. SanDiego child support is garbage.

Very unprofessional. Laziness through entire staff. Lack of respect and common sense. Everybody there should be fired and hire Professional and quality workers. They do not provide any supportive services to your children. They are a waste of tax payers money.

Walking up for the first time i was trembling!!! Walking out I said to myself, Huh, what a nice and helpful group of people there.

Worst place! They lost my casse paperwork one of my daughters with special needs didnt graduate high school and showed proof she didnt graduate and they still dropped her support from her dad and they could careless ! Now I tried to give them new direct deposit info for other daughter and they refuse to help and were extremely rude on the phone

I’m usually not one to leave bad reviews but I’m hoping my review will help someone. First off, you get what you paid for.... Go directly to the court and file with them! Lots of more helpful attorneys that will make sure you file all your papers properly and will guide you. My case manager Leila Rashoyan was the biggest stressor I had. Never ever ever replied to emails or phone calls. Actually have told me NOT to call her. Call center was a lot more kind and helpful that she was. She made me feel like I was a burden on her. Like I understand that you do this for a living and you understand the process, but us parents doing this for the first time have no idea what to expect and it would have been nice to understand the process and our options. My case opened in March... finally moving towards something now (it’s September).

I had called yesterday and ask questions the lady was so rude I called twice and the people who I talked to is telling me different things.

My check has been garnished for a whole year and I have paystub’s to prove it. Yet the county suspended my license any way. Even though I’ve made the payments and installments faithfully they’ve still managed to somehow mess it up. This has been such a hassle. Response time is very lazy as well. These people need to get it together.

I’ve been battling to have my COURT ORDERED C/S order enforced for a whole year now & still I’m only receiving the same amount they originally and inaccurately calculated way back when. I’ve called countless times asking why my order is still set at the wrong amount and each time they come up with more excuses but still don’t fix it ! I have never been paid what the judge ordered not even once ! Since Jan 2020 ! Not okay.

Take my case too long,when i talked with my case manager she said just take 3 months now 7 months already i dont hear anything about my case,emails her too many times but no answer...im single mom with 2 kids take care kids 100% no job because covid,i was told her i really need $$$ for take care my kids so please make the case go fast,but still no help...

Very u professional place seems like the case managers here don’t work. who is in charge of this place? why cant they just do their jobs and follow thru.i need a responsible case manager that will help me and communicate. pick up n reply to emails. it’s not like i can do this alone someone needs to do the work here because i can’t go get paperwork because they are closed.

My ex husband has been scamming unemployment for a year, and I have not received any child support. This agency does not actively enforce child support. I have done all of the foot work, and have reported everything they could need, and nothing has been done.

This is by far the worse facility to call or ask for any help. I could name several people that need to lose their jobs here just for the lack of nonsense and not caring. The only person that was helpful was Vickki Hickman (R.I.P)May god be with you. 🙏🏿

I called today to ask for information regarding stimulus payments and back child support. I was connected in a fairly quick time. The issue began as soon as the rep answered the phone. She sounded irritated that she had to pick up the phone and as I asked the questions I had she cut me off and raised her voice that reminded me of a Drill Instructor or someone who really disliked picking up the phone. I felt forced to speak softy and rationally and just say “ I just called to get information”. I do understand DCSS deals with a lot of upset men who don’t want to pay their support, but I just called to get information. Sadly, it has come to the point after a few calls like this that when a angry or mean sounding persons answers I will just hang up and call back and hope I don’t get the same rep.

The people in this office are liars and of disservice to the people of San Diego! Very bad service and accountability practices!!

They never even read their reviews. NOW, after paying off a HUGE balance of interest, and having my paychecks garnished.....they suspend my nursing license, twice while paying on time, levied my bank 3 times, while paying on time and suspended my drivers license because I missed ONE month after paying ahead...the response was...you don’t get to pay ahead. Now, as a 1st Responder, I have begged over and over including Anne Strathmore, Mike Bradley, Lupe and Carla Lopez, over and over for 6 months without any assistance...if this is what a person suffers when paying ONTIME, no wonder no one works.....

Been fighting my case for over 4 YEARS now.. Went through 2+ diff. Case workers in that time, each time causing me to start my prior progress w/ said worker over w/ New said worker.. My case has been to court twice, in which Ive plainly marked out how my ex is committing CHILD SUPPORT FRAUD & yet here I sit.. 4 years later with Zero results..I can do there job better than them!When I would call, 8/10 times my worker was on vacation.. (?!?) -Must be nice! Im still paying an inaccurate rate.. Still not in contact with my kids.. -Are these not the responsibilities of a state worker in this position to accomplish.. (?!)Stay Classy, San Diego.. : /

An absolutely horrific organization. If you want real help, you will have to invest time into doing your own research because these people here are not out to help NCPs at all. Its truly a shame. Best of luck to anyone dealing with these criminals.

I have been getting overcharged for many months now, I get refunded however it’s money that is out of my account until I receive the check. I called trying to resolve the issue, the women who was “helping” me talked down to me as if I was wasting her time and re directed me to the website which is full of bugs and poorly designed. After searching through my account information I found the only way to accomplish my goal was to send a message requesting help. Back to square one. This department is bad for parents dealing with dead beats and equally bad for those responsibly paying.

Something needs to be done,they sent 3 duplicate papers to my employee now there taking 3 timea as much out my check this month. My case worker does not call back cant get anything resolved. Plus before I can even get the job I was applying for they were sending child support papers before I was hired.

I have never had such problems dealing with getting my child support money till this past year.. when I moved I put in a change of address and they lost 2 of my checks... causing me to fall behind on bills and unable to pay rent... i try calling and am told the call volume is to high and told to call back... I am 1 irritated mom right now...

When my case was referred to this agency about 10 years ago, it was atrocious to say the very least. They were completely inefficient and made my already hard life as a single mother more of a living hell. They made it impossible for me to collect even though there were orders in place. It was a nightmare!However fast forward 9 years and my new case worker, Carlina Gutierrez is on top of everything!! It was such a breath of fresh air to have someone from that department actually do their job for my benefit!! I pray that she responds with the same diligence now that I need an order modified.

No customer service.They dont get back to you in the time they say, and if they do but you dont answer, they wont leave a message, wont try back shortly, or anything.. Youll just have to contact them again and wait. They care not about your case or the child, just that payments are made and their jobs can be conducted without thought.

NOT EVEN A 1This office is full of half hearted people who do not show up to do their jobs. It takes hours to be seen, they pass responsibility between departments and the courts, they do not keep the parties involved updated, and change support amounts without notification. Parents have no hope of receiving help in a timely manner or speaking with anyone who has a heart. Each person I have every tried to work with in this office is incapable of interacting on a human level. They have even ended a call due to it sounds like your going to cry and I am terminating this call. Parents must endure a great amount of stress before receiving any assistance of value.

Although i strongly appreciate the service and opportunity given to make payments with This System, i agree with some Of these reviews. i had called my case worker SEVERAL times and have Only spoken to the voicemail each time. We have only spoken twice Over the Phone and NEVER when i have a question Or concern. i now have to Wait all until july until i Can do something i Only couldnt complete because She wouldnt answer my Phone calls as a client current On my child support Payments.

This agency does not even deserve 1 star. I filed to open a case 5 months ago and instead of being helpful and getting things handled it has been a complete headache. My case manager is argumentative and gives me inaccurate information which has only caused stress and confusion. His supervisor now does not return calls in a timely (within 72hrs per their guidelines) manner. The call center is a complete joke. Currently I have a court date scheduled but the information I have been mailed is weeks apart from what the agency has on file.. Things are stressful enough for both parties without having to deal with these people who clearly do not care.

They try to help but my case is 26 years old and still has a very large balance. They let him get away with a small amount. I still pay insurance the last two years to boot!

Be prepared to spend many hours at DCSS when initiating child support services. The application and court review is fair. The reviews are sometimes bothersome. The staff often wants to make the decisions rather than the court. Know your rights and be cool in court.

I wish that i could give minus 5 stars, this place has ruined a decade of my life. I cant even get into some job fields due to the debt that i was under the impression that i had been paying down. it turns out that i havent made a payment to any of the debt like i thought we had arranged, they just raised my child support payments instead. because of this i cant get the job that i went to college to do and im now stuck being a security guard at the childrens hospital. thanks for the life that youve reduced me to, you are the worst people in existence. theirs much more that I dont feel like typing about like how my daughter has been living with me for almost 2 years and i still have to pay child support.

This department is a joke. They do not help any parent trying to get their owed child support. They are in favor of dead beat parents. Don’t wanna pay child support? No problem, move to San Diego.

I only get support when the other parent works. For years Ive gone with no child support. They have done everything to try to make him accountable and pay. Him and I do not communicate well with eachother. They deal with all communication. If it wasnt for them I would have gotten NOTHING. Right now he has a balance owed for years he skipped. Every so often I get something. Im glad they exist. You get a card they set up agreed support between you to. It out of the other parents income and goes right onto your card. Key with this is patience. Im just happy they deal with him instead of me.

Like all the other working fathers commenting here, I was lionized for a term of unemployment which caused an unknown arrears (ex and I had a verbal AND written agreement to postpone until I had regained employment). DCSS workers were and are terrible about treating you like a deadbeat even if you are working and just need to modify an order.This office has workers who directly lie to you, refuse to communicate in writing, and promise to return calls and never do. It is my distinct impression that this state is working to provide a tacit indentured servitude with no regard to the human cost.

Wish I could give less than one star. For starters my case worker refuses to give any call back forcing me to drive down to the court house wasting time and money for parking. Money needed to pay support. When I do arrive Im treated like Ive done something wrong wanting information about money I pay, and they are not required to tell you anything. I am active duty military and have been paying support since the order. All payments are taken from my pay before I even see it which is fine. Because of that I have pay records going back until the start. Some reason Im hit with $50,000 in back support for missing payments. I get all my pay stubs since 2005 where they all show support payments and request an audit. I filled out the request and went to deliver the documents at the court house once again. 3 weeks later I called my case worker for an update with no answer, and when I left a message for a call return, it never happened. Not one of my calls were EVER returned, and Ive made a lot. Months later a call is finally answered and I was told the audit was completed and it was found I owe the money. WHAT THE HELL. I gave proof from the navy Ive never missed a payment and they still say I owe. I couldnt get another audit, or get someone to sit down with me and show me how they came up with there solution. it was pretty much we say you owe so thats it. I have been paying for years and have the paper work to prove it. Also, my eldest, turned 18 but my payments keep coming. I was told the mother said he was being home schooled therefor I had to continue paying until the 19th yr, and this is just based on what someone says, NO PROOF, which I knew was a lie but my story did not matter. I have 3 more pages of complaints but wont take that much of your time. Bottom line, this place along with the family court system does not care about you, or the children involved. It is about the dollars. And they will do anything to keep them rolling in. If you can afford a lawyer then get one. I have always taken care of my responsibilities and given 20yrs to the service of this country just to turn around and be treated like an ATM by our state who cares nothing about the welfare of our kids or single dads who actually want to be a part of our children lives.

These people treat you like you are the scum of the earth. They threaten you and they are not even attorneys or paralegals. It is sooo illegal to call and threaten people and NOBODY does anything. These so called COMMISIONERS are not even judges. They are people not even appointed by the people. Just ordinary attorneys with no experience abusing the power not even knowing or studying the law. Absolutely the work thing in the world. Dealing with now the third time this place has screwed me because the different sections within this company here do not communicat. Now I must sit on the phone for an hour to talk to someone for them to tell me they cant do anything.

To start these people knew i was laid off and also they were already taking my unemployment when they siezed my account on top of that. However more on that later read on. The following is my personal beliefs and opinion which is legally protected as a freedom of speech measure under the united states constitution. Any attempt at removal of this information can and will be deemed as a denial of my rights and subject those involved to civil penalties. So here it is. First off I would like to thank the aclu for ruling that it is perfectly legal to flip off a cop because i would have no problem doing that to everyone in this department. These people are the absolute worst in the nation. I cant stand these people. I wouldnt even want them around my dead dog. These people siezed my bank account the day i desposited 100 dollars and set up payments to my credit cards only to watch them bounce over less than 1800 backowed and less than 2 months since they had last recieved a payment. That johnson lady is a piece of work. Even though i proved that my ex didnt have one of my kids since june and was committing welfare fraud she assured me that if i cooperated with her to help her report it that she would submit paperwork to suspend my child support and pull off what wasnt owed since she didnt have the child....a month after cooperating....oh im sorry i cant help you........so your telling me that they are so wrapped up in red tape that they cant do what they say they will do in a letter. Well i contacted the local media because it aint right!!!!

Its been a year since I filed for child support against my sons father in another state. They havent even served him yet. I dont get any return calls from my case manager Vera Littleton.. Nothing is listed on my profile as far as documents are concerned. There is no sense of urgency with this agency at all. This is the most time consuming experience i have ever gone through. The state of California agency is slow at following up with other states as far as what docs have been recieved, etc. I dont know how these other baby mamas do it. They must be standing outside the Child support office everyday. I have a full time job to take care of my son so I dont have time to go in person. I will be reporting them to the Better business bureau and the state of California.

HORRIBLE, lose your paperwork never resent the packets as promised. I was told by my case worker Joseph that he doesnt have to respond till 72 hrs. I filed a complaint with their complaint department. Explained what is going on and was called a liar by Miriam B saying I never turned in my paperwork, if i did they would have record of it. Deceitful and Liars they do nothing to help out those who need it. :(

Ive had many bad experience with this court house in the past, but they seem to be steadily improving. The administrative staff are the real superstars here. They treated me very nice and made my visit so much easier. i left a one star before, but have increased it to a 4. I i actually left with some motivation this time. Thank you to the entire administrative staff 4th, 5th, and 6th floors for being so kind. Danielle and Christina are awesome employees.

This office is a joke! My ex-husband owes me over $500,000 and guess what? They could not collect since he had resided in Ohio for the last 25 years. So, the case worker decided to close my file without my knowledge after my youngest son turned 18. The only way I found out was that when I asked for an updated total of my child support, I was told my case was closed in 2012 by my case worker because it is noncollectable since now your ex-husband lives in Ecuador. CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have been trying to have my support revisited since June. I am told that my case worker will call me and she hasnt in weeks.I am told we would have scheduled a court date weeks ago.on top of that, because i am a man & the custodial parent - i am constantly being referred to as the non-custodial parent by the person on the phone.

I have had dcss of san diego responsible for my case for about um almost 10 years and its been the same old same old never return calls. Non custodial parent doesnt pay 2 months go by no follow up, i dont collect aid but yet for some reason i cant seem to get the tax return when clearly its states as ordered amounts of arrears go to custodial party first, i ask about payment disbursment or money not being put in account always the run around call umbuds 16 times nothing happens . im being super patient ...... Hopefully after supervisors read if they ever read reviews they will start inforcing policys of employees to do there jobs, .. All we can do is hope! .

NOW REMEMBER, IF YOU FIND YOURSELF IN A SITUATION WHERE YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR CALWORKS AND ASK FOR ASSISTANCE, THIS MEANS YOU ARE ALREADY IN A SITUATION WHERE YOU ARE MOST VULNERABLE AND COULD REALLY USE THE CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS FROM THE MISSING PARENT. INSTEAD THE COUNTY LEARNS YOU APPLIED FOR CASH AID, STARTS TAKING THE STEPS TO LOCATE THE MISSING PARENT TO ENFORE THE ORDER (WHICH THEY LOCATE THE MISSING PARENT PRETTY FAST), THEN TAKE THE CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS FROM YOU WHEN RECEIVING CASH AID. NOW ONCE YOU GO OFF CASH AID THE CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS SLOWLY CEASE. AGAIN, WHY IS THAT? IF THE CHILD SUPPORT AGENCY IS THERE TO HELP ENFORCE CHILD SUPPORT COURT ORDERS FOR THE COMMUNITY AND WERE ABLE TO LOCATE THE PARENT SO FAST WHEN THE PERSON APPLIED FOR CALWORKS, THEN WHY ARE THEY NOT TAKING THESE SAME STEPS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT APPLYING FOR CALWORKS. THE REASON IS THEY HAVE THEY HAVE NO VESTED INTEREST TO WAIST THEIR TIME AND RESOURCES TO GO AFTER THE MISSING PARENT. THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS. THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS DONT EXPECT CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES TO ENFORE CHILD SUPPORT ORDERS. IF THE MISSING PARENT IS MAKING PAYMENTS ON THEIR OWN THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE PAYMENTS. IF THE MISSING PARENT CHOOSES NOT TO PAY, DONT EXPECT CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNLESS YOU ARE ON CASH ASSISTANCE.

Such a headach dealing with this agency.They dont understand basic english so they mess paperwork up and they take forever to process paperwork and unless you are emailing them which i highly suggest everyone do so you have a time stamped record of your attempts to communicate and your conversations but if you dont it will take longer to get things done.

They constantly keep asking me do i know where the non custodial parent is located and unable to establish if he is working. However how do you get a tax return but the city states he doesnt work or not able to establish he has a income. I swear i think he knows someone that works there because they do nothing for the custodial parent. the worker had the nerve to tell me didnt i know what i kind of person i was messing with prior to having a child. I would gove no stars if that was an option. Very rude employees who answer phones, they ask questions but are oblivious to the answers. My case is interstate and i am told by my state to call san diego county, when i call here to explain my issues i am told i have to call my state and explain it to them. Marina from the call center was not willing to add case notes to my case and said she would not help me further and that i should come to their offices. Even when i explained i was 1500 miles away. Totally useless system needs to be fixed.

There isnt a minus star or Id chose it. I live in a different state. the 1st time the (so called) case worker Eva phoned me she was RUDE raised her voice to me, talked over me when I was asking a question. The 2nd time I FINALLY was able to contact her, she said I was lying that I had tried to phone her because she has voicemail. I was never put through to her voicemail. This next one is the kicker..SHE gave ME WRONG information regarding my case. I fax her the documents she said I needed to.Now 3 weeks later I learn of this wrong information she had given to me. .. saying the info she told me didnt apply to MY case some others yes..but not mine..she was told this by her supervisor AFTER 3 weeks of giving it to me. Am I mad hell yes? This was a very important point of my case. the least she could had done was to say Im sorry I gave you the wrong info..did she? NO. These people dont care about the cases they work..the ones that will disagree with that statement are the ones that will be able to line their pockets needed or not. EVA RESTUA .. learn the ins and outs of your job before giving info..or check before telling someone something that you know is a life altering situation.

They work late at night I got 4 calls in one day after hours but when I return the call, office is closed they are the best! I give them 5 stars for stealthy, and evasive . :) Keep up the good work!

The absolute WORST! Im owed over $70,000 havent received a payment in over three years!!! Deadbeat lies gets court dates and never shows up and they give HIM more court dates! They treat ME like the criminal! Case worker (A. Quilapio)yelled at me and told me to be quiet and listen to me! I complained to her supervisor who told me shed call back (you know she didnt). Complained to Ombudsmen they said they did NOTHING wrong and theres nothing they can do about my case!! No ARREST WARRANTS NO LIENS NO NOTHING!

I have always been treated with respect every time i have called out to this office. Mr. Phelps has always been great as far as answering my questions.

Did nothing for 11 months. When I called them, they always said they could not verify the address I gave them for my sons mother. They also shouted over me when I talked to them on the phone.I contacted my congresswomans office and got results in 1 day.When I finally got a hearing with them; the guy from the support office was totally on my deadbeat ex- wifes side. He got excited about all the reductions in the support she would have to pay. Very biased.

I had a heart attack and got two months behind on child support so they took away my security license getting me fired. Is that how the law is supposed to work?

Lose my application, not uploaded to the system, they denied my application. I have to call them back it so helpless!

My child support case was closed, soon as my kids were adopted for some reason the case opened up again, I owed no back payments, called both the child support agency and the courts, nothing was done, I presented the case numbers as well the case worker number, these people are garbage but happy to at least have still communication with my kids.

Most pathetic excuse of government funds. When I had my child 17 years ago, I was told that there would be all these things that would happen had her father not paid. Well, He now owes 75k in back child support, he is working (I have sent them where he is working) and still nothing.

Useless and the biggest waste of time, money and space I have taken car of my kids from day one and have had money garnished, my license suspended, the last opporator I spoke to Jackie I honestly would love to choke the life out of her for her ignorance she told me what I owed but when I tried to tell her everything is in her system she played dumb and hung up on me, child support makes money from broken families, lazy parents who cry about struggling to raise kids, my mother cared for two kids without amy support bought a house and new cars while my dad blew money, she never complained and to this day refuses to speak negatively about my dad, and how all parents should be.

Sometimes you may get crappy service there however I lived in San Diego for five years previous to that lived into other states it would not go after my ex that lives in Czech Republic they are the only ones that will go after him and get him for child support it’s took me 13 years to receive the first payment but they finally did it and for that I’m really grateful

Horrible service you cant even get a hold of someone or its I cant help and the run around there is no way to get contact the actual location its a stupid call center with no help.
