We had emergency and this facility took care of our Daisy Belle. Made her comfortable and they did their very best at helping her under very rough conditions. She was very critical and they gave her the best care and love. Thanks to them, our Daisy pulled through and is still with us today

A year ago my 10 year old yorkie fell of my bed and hurt his back. Since that day he couldn’t walk as he used to. We tried cold laser therapy in a different place but didn’t see much difference after a while. That’s how I decided to try acupunture on him. I did some research and found South San Diego Veterinary Hospital.I cannot thank enough Dr. McAndrew. She’s very knowledgeable, has years of experience and you can see that animals are her passion.She evaluated him, recommended me two supplements and did his acupuncture. After only a week of session, my sweet boy is walking so much better! It’s been amazing.Everybody is so caring and nice. We couldn’t be happier. Thank you!!

Great caring staff and doctor

Twice now I have called with 2 different dogs in distress, and they squeezed me into their busy schedule.Really a great group of animal lovers who will give your pet good care. They dont seem to be any more expensive than others, yet the level of care seems to be up a notch form the ones I have tried.

We brought our beagle in for a suspected UTI. They said she needed to stay for a few hours. When we got back our playful puppy was lethargic and unwilling to do anything. We were informed that her back or hips could have been hurt during her exam. No other explanation or anything. We immediately left and went to the 24 hr clinic. Due to how they held her down she has soft tissue damage to her hips and hind legs. We called after we were done at the 24 hr clinic, and now they know nothing about the situation and are claiming she came in like that. Needless to say, we had a horrible experience and would NEVER recommend South San Diego Vet! Beware!

The doctor and the staff seem to care a lot about are pets and understand that they are part of our familiesThis is not a fancy place but it is clean and most of all I felt comfortable having one my kittys euthanized because he was very ill so do not try to charge me in charge me she told me the truth. Then I took another pet in for an infectious now and a thyroid problem and their work is good on that as well I mean to help stabilize her thyroid

Always the best care, and my dogs love going to the vet here. Dr. Jackie is a very caring vet. On another note, there was a review where the person was upset that in an emergency they were turned away. Reality is they should be happy about that; and Ive had my share of emergencies. The pet needed ER help, SSDVH is not an ER but it is the place to go for normal vet care.

In 2018, my husband brought our cat here for shortness of breath and a wellness checkup. Our cat was 13 years old at the time. The vet said that our Lilroy was healthy and even recommended a teeth cleaning. Finally gave some vitamin supplements for him and sent us on our way. Less than 2 weeks later Lilroy was experiencing shortness of breath, and wheezing, my husband took him to the VCA where he was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Needless to say he was treated and we was told not to except him to last longer. We brought him home made him as comfortable as we could. Gave him his meds everyday. 1 week later Lilroy’s hind legs gave away, he stared crying my husband immediately attempted to take him back to the emergency room Lilroy died on the way to the hospital. It broke my husbands heart to take him In deceased so that they could make the necessary arrangements for cremation. My review is this vet didn’t even detect Lilroys irregular heart beat. The on call vet couldn’t believe that he was just seen by a vet. We don’t blame the Dr, Lilroy wasn’t going to live much longe, but we were left with a false sense of security. Just be careful when you take your babies in, if your not sure of the outcome of a visit please follow your instincts and get a second opinion. We have adopted a new cat now, but he will never take the place of Lilroy.

I can not speak highly enough of this veterinary hospital. I take my cat to Dr. McAndrew and she is wonderful. I particularly like that they treats animals with western and homeopathic medicine. The staff is always extremely kind and welcoming. They treat your pet with care and gentleness. I have also found them to be honest and helpful. I feel they are really there to help you and your pet instead of just get paid which I have felt from many other veterinary places. They are a little far for me but totally worth it. I wont go to another vet unless I absolutely have to. Highly recommended!

I have been bring my dog here for almost 3 yrs. I have dealt with both doctors whom have been above outstanding. They have done nothing less than perfect for our family. Blue and the family will miss them.

I had an emergency and brought my dog here because it was the closest location to me. My dog was urinating blood and had shallow breathing. They turned me away because there was no DR patient relationship. No compassion was demonstrated.

This vet will get you to pay for so much unnecessary stuff. They do this hand pulling this that supposedly tells them if the animal needs medication, needless to say that the arm pulling confirms you need to buy the medication and other tests

You are the best vet and staff in San Diego County. Thanks for everything.
