Trash service! They dont answer the phone
Website for Outage Notices /Updates is SUBPAR. It’s 2021 and CalSubMeter needs to get onboard and demonstrate any level of Customer Service.Call- Good Luck getting any prompt response or answers. Are they aware they are providing an essential service?No wonder the ratings are so low. Time to ask our HOA to make a change.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL... NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE, EVERYTIME IT GOES TO VOICE MAIL EVEN IN BUSINESS HOURS AND NO ONE GET BACKS TO YOU EVEN IF YOU LEAVE ALL YOUR CONTACT DETAILS. TRYING TO CANCEL A SERVICE OVER A WEEK BUT STILL HAD NO CHANCE!!!!! HATE THIS KIND OF COMPANIES. HOPE VERY SOON, YOU WOULD COMPLETELY BE OUT OF THE BUSINESS!
Yhe bills are straight forward and ive never had a problem.
Since covid 19 situation, they have not been available for telephone service to service their customer! the only way to reach them is through email. how can a water company not pick up their phone and service their clients??? its no excuse for not servicing their customer and say its covid 19!!
Theyre the water for our rental unit. They refused to let previous tenant close out account + switch back to us because it was not the end of their billing cycle. They refused to give her a final bill. Theyre charging a late fee on bills not due, yet. You cant get in touch with anyone in a timely manner, and when you do, theyre beyond rude. NO Other utility company acts this way., why do they?

Water sub-metering is awesome. I moved into this condo complex six months ago and they use California Sub-meters water utility service. My bill has decreased about 30%.Its so much easier dealing with California Sub-meters water utility service than it was with the San Diego water utility company. I dont have to wait for ever on the phone and I dont have to jump through the phone maze options.Customer services at California Sub-meters has been great. I dont have to wait forever on the phone and I get to speak with a customer service rep right away. They are very professional and friendly.Had I known their was water sub-metering services I would have sought out a condo complex that had it. Why dont all condo complexes use water sub-metering?!
Ive been working with California Sub Meters for over 15 years and I am always impressed with the level of customer service they provide. The billing departments was very helpful when I had previous issues and were able to wave the late fees. The new payment website is very easy to use .
Customer service was VERY rude. I had been contact a couple of weeks ago in regards to not receiving my payment. I let them know that I had mail a check a few weeks ago. The first girl I spoke with was very nice and let me know they had recently moved and that the check may have gotten lost in the mail. She instructed me to call back in a week and see if they had received it yet. She also informed me that I would not receive a late fee. I attempted to call back but unfortunately they are closed from 11:30-1:00 for lunch and my lunch is from 12:00-1:00. Today was the first opportunity I had to take a moment from work and call. The person I spoke with today was extremely rude, I told her that I did not have a problem with putting a stop payment on the first check and sending in a second check but it wouldnt include a late fee. She responded with telling me that I have had plenty of time to figure this out and I would need to pay the late fee. I let her know of the previous phone call and that I was told that I would not need to pay a late fee. She responded with letting me that that it was not their fault that the check was lost and if I wanted to know whos fault it was I should speak with my mail man. At that time, I asked to be transferred to a manager. I had to leave a message and have not received a call back.
Ive been using water sub-meters for over ten years. Not only has this lowered my water bill, but this helps conserve water. Our HOA has saved over 40% in water bills. Im glad our HOA made this change years ago. They had the vision to see forward and understood the need for water conservation.As far as our water sub-metering service through California Sub-Meters, they have always been great. Customer service and billing has never been an issue. I believe its even better now under new management.
Called after closing hours because my water is off and I need to finish my laundry and take a shower. What the heck?
Very rude. I called to pay my first bill in my new home and the woman who took my call was very snotty. Making it seem like it was a hassle for HER if I didnt go find my escrow papers for needless information. My bill for the first month was not sent to me and when I called previously they said it would be later. But now here it is the next month like they said it would come (every two months) and theres a late charge miss snotty would not remove. Even though according to them I shouldnt have one. Since last months bill is not due till this months due date.
Terrible.This agency purposely makes their bills no monthly while charging for on site bill pay to generate lat fee revenue.Absolutely terrible and rude customer service too boot.Avoid this vendor like the plague if at all possible!
Big difference between the san diego water utility bill and submetering bill. Water submetering lowered my water bill by 27%. I dont have the hassles of dealing with the san diego water utility company anymore.Since California SunMeters has been my water utiliy company it has been much better. They have excellent customer service and fees breakdown is much more simple to understand.
Terrible website, horrible service. Cant understand how come this type of companies are still around... Wasted 1 hour just to pay my bill.. .

Poor Because they do not maintain client/account privacy.One of the condos we own is serviced by California Submeters. I wanted to get informed and find out how the submetering, billing and usage worked with this property and was forwarded to Kay Hagen (Director of Operations). This property is held in my wifes name and did not need specifics on the account. Kay stated that she couldnt and shouldnt reveal account specifics, which a readily acknowledged and agreed to by me.I wanted to find out how the property owner is held legally responsible for utility consumption when a tenant uses the water.I started off mentioning that California Sub-Meters has a Tennant Billing Agreement which we were not aware of...and Kay Said That was mailed to you in 2009 and....I stopped her immediatly, indicating that she should not be revealing account specifics. I thought it was funny and was prepared to let the (potenitally) funny moment go....but she became terse and snotty with me.Clearly I was correct and she was wrong. Instead of handling the situation in a respectful way and de-escalate the situation, the became argumentative and ended up getting angry with me, indicating that she didnt want to continue the conversation and hung up.If you are considering using California Submeters, I would seriously consider the fact that information was released to me that should not have been.

1 star because they dont answer except Monday-friday 8-5 and closed between 11:30 and 1 so if you have a job with normal hours you can expect to be able to reach them never!
Constantly charged late fees when bills never arrive.
Worse service ever. I could not get a hold of them. And my water bill has been $91 every month without a water meter. This is ridiculous.
