We had a great 2 hour private tour with Captain Danny today. Hes newer to San Diego, but was very knowledgeable and even though weve taken several other sail tours and lived here over 20 years, he told us some facts about the bay we did not know. Danny is very professional and mellow, it was a very nice, relaxing sail tour. Were planning to request Danny for some future tours, and highly recommend San Diego Sailing tours for whatever type of sail tour you like.

We had an awesome experience for our first time sailing with Captain Danny! From the moment he greeted us at the fountain, till the time we stepped off the boat was a blast! Not only was here knowledgeable about sailing, he also knew a lot about the area and the history as well. It was a fun day on the water with Captain Danny. Although it was overcast for the most part, it was still wonderful to be out with the wind in your face. Captain Danny is San Diego (surfer) casual in his attire, and he is very helpful to those who may need assistance. He is also well mannered, friendly, and very down to earth. He had some nice information about sailing, as well as about the surroundings, and interesting facts about other ships.

Captain Daniel Smith is amazing! He was very professional and knowledgeable of the area. He explained everything that he was doing and gave us facts and tidbits about the marine life and naval base near the North San Diego Bay. My 75 year old mother went with us (she grew up sailing on the Great Lakes in MI) and the smile on her face as the memories rushed back to her was priceless. We had 7 of us in our group and his easy going and friendly demeanor made us all feel relaxed! We definitely got that sail boat sideways and he was Keeling it! (Sorry for the dad joke)....Shout out to Capt. Daniel!...would definitely book and request him again! Thanks for making our vacation to SD a memorable one!

My husband and I had out-of-town guests from Phoenix and we wanted to treat them to something different that they had not done on all their many trips to San Diego. Sailing was the perfect choice, so was the weather (not too sunny). Danny Smith is a skilled and wonderfully enter-taining Captain and a credit to your company. He was able to answer allour questions, advising us of all the various tours you offer and extendedinformation on various boats, San Diego and a little about himself. Our sailing tour with Captain Alan was the highlight of our vacation and a wonderful escape from the daily grind. Our kids even enjoyed it and they are picky and are not easily amused. We saw many ships and had an amazing view of an aircraft carrier while it was docking. The captain has vast knowledge about history, shipping, and San Diego and made learning so fun and interesting. We were looking to spend a day on the water for a birthday and at the last minute decided on a sailing tour with Captain Danny instead of one of the more ferry boat like options. It was the right choice! We had a great time being on the bay. The captain was engaging and friendly and very helpful when our little one got fussy, he was quick with a bag of cookies to calm her down. There was also a stock of more adult beverages for the adults to enjoy and it was a great experience overall.

San Diego Sailing Tours is an amazing business and Captain Kyle is a phenomenal captain! Every detail of our sunset sail was perfect. We went on the private sunset sail for a special occasion (proposal!) and were surrounded by beautiful views of the city skyline and a gorgeous sunset. Captain Kyle was great to work within hashing out the details of our sail and was even able to capture our special moment with his camera. Jerry (sailer in training) was great too and provided us with an interesting history lesson as we cruised away from the dock and into the bay. In all, our sail was amazing and exceeded all expectations! We are extremely impressed and will be back for another sail again soon!

San Diego Sailing Tours does it right.We did the evening sunset cruise, 6 pm to 8 pm. The captain sailed us around the harbor and pointed out some interesting facts about the area, the navy base, the ships, etc. The captain (sorry by now I’ve forgotten his name) was personable.Oh, this is not 100 people squeezing onto a tour boat. This was two couples on a 30’ (approximately) sail boat. So, it feels like authentic sailing. I do believe they will take up to 6 people total.The ride itself was wonderful. The city looks amazing from the water, and the sunset was beautiful. The city is also beautiful at sunset because of the purple and orange reflections on the cityscape. Once the Sun is down, the skyline comes alive as many nod the building have nighttime lighting.The boat was “vintage,” so yes it’s a little older but clean and comfortable. The bathroom is primitive, but serviceable; I doubt any ladies will give the bathroom more than two stars.The captain provided a few drinks, which was a nice touch. This is also a great way to make some new friends, since with such a small group for two hours you will certainly chat.I suggest you bring a sweatshirt. The captain provides warm blankets, and you will probably want one. The temperature is already cooler on the water during daylight hours, and the temps really drop dramatically once it’s dark.

My wife and I had the pleasure of sailing with Capt. Daniel recently! The trip was absolutely perfect with Daniel giving us insights into the area, and giving us a quick view of a few sea lions too! Capt. Daniel was great at tending to our needs while afloat and was a wealth of knowledge when it came to sailing! Its an absolute must do for anyone who likes a little safe adventure!

Great Tour - it feels more like going out on a friend’s boat for a beer and some laughs. Its very relaxed and a fun way to see the city from a different vantage point. Captain Kyle was fun and informative while at the same time being being safe and very courteous. We appreciated the attention to detail and quality of the light refreshments that were offered. We also noted that the vessel was very clean, well taken care of and you could feel the pride of ownership of the staff. We have sailed with them twice now and they have always provided us with a memorable, photo-filled day of sailing on the bay. We will definitely use them again!

We had to schedule our boat ride last minute as the one with a different company had cancelled. I literally called from the parking lot and Kyle was able to open a boat for us, as we had 6 in our party. Captain Nick had just come back from being out all morning, and instead of actually taking his lunch, got his food to go and we were out on the water after 15 minutes.The ride itself was AMAZING! Captain Nick was patient with my kids(who ask a lot of questions) and even let them steer! He was attentive with drinks and snacks and always made sure to let us know if we needed to hold on or get our cameras out.Captain Nick is very personable! We felt like we were taking a trip with an old friend as conversation never dulled. I highly recommend San Diego Sailing. The memories created are well worth the money!!!

We went on the four-hour sailing tour with Captain Nick and it and him were great! You could tell Captain Nick was a professional and has a great passion for sailing. We got so lucky and saw multiple dolphins, sea lions doing tricks and sun bathing, and the USS Tripoli taking off! The sailing was relaxing, the breakfast burritos and champagne were good, and the conversation was great! We would highly recommend this tour for a date or with friends, and catch Captain Nick while you still can!!

My husband and I took a wonderful 2-hour cruise with Captain Nick and Captain Bree. They were so great - informative, fun, savvy in handling the boat. They gave us options on what we wanted to see, since it ended up being just us on the boat, and showed us the sea lions. We actually saw a military ship AND a cruise ship! The boat was in perfect condition, the deli sandwiches was so good, chilled champagne and water, sodas and snacks all good. But what makes a great day on a boat is the captain. Nick was knowledgeable, nice, fun, funny and professional as well as an amazing sailor. And then there was the owner of the company motoring up next to us as we left the marina dressed in a tutu to give us candy and another bottle of champagne. An unparalleled experience!

The captains are knowledgeable about local features as well as have obvious sailing experience. I was surprised to learn how many of the captains actually own their own boat and sail full-time even outside of work. Sailing the San Diego sailing tours made me feel Carefree the entire duration of our trips.

Had the boat to the three of my family and Captain Charlie for a brilliant sunset sail. Even saw a couple of dolphins looking for dinner and we followed them for awhile. A lovely evening out, Charlie did a great job for us!
