AAA Public Auction is definitely a buyer beware organization. Its unfortunate because I value the good work done by Father Joes and St. Vincent De Paul. They are my go place when I have items to donate to charity. I will however never participate in any auction run by AAA Public Auction on Father Joes behalf. There auction had one lot of 7 items and I bid $5.00 for the lot. Their web site is very confusing and I didnt realize I was bidding $5.00 each and not for the lot. I complained to the people on hand when I went to pick up my stuff. I was told to call a fellow named Bobby who was in charge. He was totally unhelpful. Said he was merely the agent for Father Joes and laid all responsibility on them. I asked if it would help if I called St. Vincent De Paul and he said, not really. They would just tell him not to make any allowance for this mistake. This is such a shame. Father Joe should examine whether this agent represents their best interests.

The people holding this auction refuse to post basic information about the cars and trucks they are selling, simple things like the mileage and obvious mechanical defects. You have to call them and beg for the information and they often claim not to have it. So, you have to call back and keep after them. They act like youre putting them to a lot of extra trouble by asking a few simple questions, like whether its a stick or automatic. Basically, they want you to waste your time coming to there auction only to be disappointed that the car has extremely high mileage, has a engine knock, or worse. If other auction houses can provide basic info about vehicles, why cant they? How much trouble is to take a snapshot of the odometer and interior when photographing the car or truck?Father Joes television commercials say they cut out the middle man, but if you examine the auto auction listings youll notice that many are coded with the letter C. This means they are consignment vehicles. The consignment vehicles arent owned by Father Joes anymore but they still appear on the site. The week before they appeared as regular auction vehicles but the dealer, or one of his dealer buddies, bought it at a bargain price and is now marking it up. The consignor is the middle man. The consignor can end up making more on the deal than the charity does. The consignor system also assures that no car will sell for too little. In other words, no bargains for the public. The consignment dealers or the operators agent will bid on the car against you, acting as a shill. If they outbid you, they post it as a consignment vehicle the next week. The whole thing is rigged against the consumer. As a Catholic myself, Im very sorry to see this happening. As a low-income person searching for a good low-priced car, Im simply disgusted. Well, whats one more black mark against the church an its many minions, right? I strongly advise that you avoid this auction. Ive given up trying to get info out of them because it takes up so much time.

Totally donated car to FJV well over a year ago and was recently notified by SDPD tht car was towed from local street and when ckeck was ran on it there was no new transfer no new registration new registration and no new insudance3. Never again. Is something illegally going on here? I dont live in the state anymore but they wete able to track me down. I saw it as a tax writeoff and I would be helping a reputable local charity.. The car has come back to haunt me. Never again

It is a center where they sell at retail, and through wholesale auctions, they accept cash payments and credit and debit cards, it has free parking, many people from Tijuana, Rosarito, Tecate and Ensenada will suffer there, as it is never held the certainty that you can find most of what is sold there are donations, so sometimes things are worth it.
