Best Gracie juijitsu experience in San Antonio
I came to San Antonio for a long visit and joined up as a beginner. Ive been training there now for about a month. As a beginner I was pretty intimidated by the thought of starting in on something like this - I am also older (58). I found Josh to be extremely capable and knowledgeable. But what won me over was how patient and welcoming he is. He made me feel accepted right away. He also never once gave me the sense that he was frustrated with how awkward I am. And the other folks that train there are the best. They have all been patient and kind, and very welcoming. I really lucked out finding this place and I plan to stick with it as long as I can.
Great gym and atmosphere with lots of great people. The self defense is legit and Professor Josh Lauber ability to teach and share knowledge is amazing. Perfect place for kids and adults to learn martial arts of all ages.
I was in San Antonio for a few weeks and trained at Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu San Antonio when I was there. Josh is a great instructor! He’s amazing at teaching jiu-jitsu to all ages and skill levels. Also, love the green mats!
Overall - Great - Apr 4, 2015I live and train at Gracie Barra in Houston, however when i visit family in San Antonio I always train with Josh and George. They treat you like family the minute you arrive and are truly interested in helping you improve your technique no matter your level. What I like best is the time they focus on each technique - no more the two per hour. I am 57 years old, but feel like a 20 year old every time I step on the mat with these pros.
My son has been attending only a few months yet within those months I have seen physical growth, confidence, and smiles
I am really impressed with this school. Very friendly students and the instructor was very serious about Gracie Jiu Jitsu, but showed a good sense of humor and was very kind and welcoming.
I absolutely recommend this academy to anyone looking to have their kids go to a place where they will really learn jiu jitsu. Josh specifically is great with the children and we can vouch for his instruction and character.
My family has been attending this academy for over a year now and its been a amazing seeing my kids confidence grow as they learn BJJ. For me personally I couldnt think of a better way to work out! One of the things that I like about Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy is that it has really good vibe. It can be intimidating joining a martial arts school but I got to say black belt instructor Josh Lauber has done a really good job making everyone feel welcome and at ease. The same with the higher ranking belts (purple and brown), everyone is very friendly, helpful, patient and humble. No egos. This is a great academy with great people learning some really fantastic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Great
