Im not going to say Black Label is the best gym in SATX, because I dont know.I will say that if I lived in San Antonio, this is the gym I would call home based on my experience training here.The coaches and other students were very friendly and made me feel extremely welcome. The place is incredibly spacious and clean.The atmosphere is laid back, but professional. What do I mean by that? People here train hard, but safely and are having fun. We are all working to perfect our craft, but not at the expense of hurting our teammates.Its a nurturing environment when knowledge and techniques are freely shared amongst the community.As far as my experience level, Im a three-stripe white belt. I train eight times a week. The rolls here were very competitive. I was impressed by the solid fundamentals I saw the newer white belts performing.I dont have anything negative to report, and give Black Label my highest recommendation.

This gym has it all. Two different separate mat spaces and a striking/conditioning area. This facility is a family oriented business providing classes for children to adults and welcoming of all experience levels. Adult classes are structured to afford you the most flexibility in your pace of study. If you only want to learn for self-defense and practice lightly you can do that. If you want to prepare for pro-level competitions or compete on the world stage, they can help with that and anything in between. If youre shopping around for a place to learn BJJ, a fun way to get into shape or a new hobby that you, your children or the whole family can enjoy, this place deserves to be on the list to stop by and give a look!

Arrived in SA today at 9:20am and was on the mats by 10am, in town visiting from Soul Fighters- Louisiana. Everybody was very hospitable and welcoming. My friend and I were able to train and share techniques. Somebody even offered to wash our gis, which we gladly accepted. We were treated like family from the moment we stepped through the door. if youre looking for a place to train everyday or drop-in, this is a place that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend. The culture at this academy resembles what I have in my home academy.

Throughout life I’ve struggled with a multitude of phycological illness that had been undiagnosed for far longer than I’d like to admit. It wasn’t till recently that a traumatic life threatening event took place in my life resulting in a concussion which added to the list of problems I was already dealing with, Just to name a few “adhd, depression, anxiety, and anger/rage” being the worst of all. I knew I needed some type of therapy to deal with the state of mind I was in. Here at black label mma with the help of all the staff and members I’ve finally found a place to call home away from home with the family feel I enjoy. The problems I’ve dealt with for basically a lifetime literally vanished within the first day of class, the concussion I received had left me with an extremely annoying stutter that had only developed post traumatically, due to the incident which had taken place only three days prior to my first day of class. Believe it or not only three days in and my stutter has completely vanished and brought me to to the best mental state I’ve ever been in for as long as I can remember. The first day coach Quinn literally gave me the gi off his back seeing as I didn’t have one nor did I know how to wear it. I would absolutely recommend this gym to any and everybody who wants to learn bjj for it’s true art form and the confidence it will give you for a much more purposeful life, as a matter of fact I am actually enrolling my entire family and any other extended family I can to enjoy this same life changing experience I have

Ive been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Benjamin Bruttell for over three years now and can say only positive things about this organization. Black Label MMA teaches sport Brazilian jiu jitsu as well as conditioning, and MMA. The facility is always clean and my training partners are friendly and helpful. Benjamins instruction and attention to detail is excellent and the training overall is tough, but very rewarding. I would definitely recommend stopping by and trying the training out for yourself. I started with absolutely zero experience or skills and have grown quite a bit in the sport and have obtained gold medals at multiple tournaments.
