I didn’t even get mediocre work. Dim lighting is a great way to avoid bad quality. What’s worse? When I showed the hostess the errors (sadly, there’s multiple), her response was to bring me back for a “re-do.” This makes no sense. You can’t re-do a haircut. Especially when it’s been cut unevenly and too short in places. I tried to speak with the manager twice but haven’t been able to. Hopefully this will get their attention.

The price is fair for the quality of the services and the overall experience, and everyone there is very friendly, professional, and safety conscious. Exactly what I was looking for. Always welcoming from the moment of walking through the door. My stylist Lola is awesome. She quickly got to know my hair/head considering it is difficult to cut. It seems like my hair just looks better every time. She is great conversation while she is cutting my hair. Last but not least, what almost every salon, barber fails to do, my time never feels rushed.

Updated Review: After holding membership for ~3 month I can say the service has so much potential but is executed pretty horrendously. The stylist are friendly and the haircuts are more consistent in quality than not but the costumer service is rough. I have had what feels like dozens of appointments cancelled based on something coming up with a stylist, that is understandable but it can be quite frustrating when you receive a phone call informing you that your appointment must be moved with under 48hrs to your appointment and there is no option for the same day or even a similar day/time. I really value consistency and was willing to pay more for haircuts to get said consistency. I try to schedule a haircut every week Sunday @ 2:45pm. I schedule for the whole month at the start of the membership and in the past ~3 months I have only been able to get two haircuts during one of my prescheduled appointments. Between moving around the scheduling from their end to no availability after the move I am often times left with haircut options mid week mid day but when you work M-F it can be next to impossible to use a weekday appointment. My recommendation for BR would be if a cancellation must happen, realistic options should be provided to the member factoring in their history of appointment. My recommendation for potential customers would be stay away unless you have a relatively flexible schedule and are okay with frequent changes in appointments.---Old Review: Looking at this salon from website to post haircut, you can tell that the atmosphere will be nicer than the actual cut. That being said, the haircut wasnt bad, and the atmosphere was unique. If its goal was to bring back the romanticized idea of a high-end barbershop, it nails it. Aesthetically The Boardroom does a great job. I, however, wish I could get a fade with the same level of attention to detail that a barbershop would give you. After receiving a haircut, I cant see much of a difference between the cut you receive here vs. at Sports Clips. The only upside from Sports Clips is The Boardroom presents itself in a much better way.

Gem that has recently reopened, I have been to the Salon only twice. Both have been fantastic experiences that have set a high standard for where I get my haircuts. The extra, more pampering parts of the experience in the form of the head massage, wax hand dip, and hot towel were great additions to an already high quality experience. I will be returning again.

I personally had a great experience at The Boardroom. My wife booked me for The Traditional package which was the Benchmark haircut and the hot lather shave. I was greeted upon arrival and check in was smooth. They immediately offered me a beverage while I waited since I arrived early. The decor is very “Kingsmen” and I found it pleasing to the eyes. I started with Nicole M for my haircut, and she was awesome. She was friendly, easy to talk to, and a true professional. She provided me with an exceptional Benchmark haircut, and I feel like she had gone above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, and my hair looked great after. I am considering a membership so that I can book with Nicole regularly. After my haircut, I was introduced to Gabriel V for my got lather shave. Gabriel was a pro and great conversationalist. He made sure to take my shaving habits into consideration while planning out how he was going to provide me with the best shave, likely the closest he ever gave. After various hot towels, lotions, shave oils, my face was clean shaven & buttery smooth. I don’t shave all the time, but if you do shave, you should try the hot lather shave at least once! I would recommend Gabriel to anyone looking for an awesome shave experience. Overall my personal experience was amazing, and I will definitely book again!

I been going to this place since it was open. I’ve experienced general managers and stylist come and go. I’ve been always satisfied with the job and every single time the price matches the job done. This time it was not. I received a $3 safety fee for cleaning purposes that I totally disagree on. The place is not doing something extraordinary to justify the fee. Yes they added dividers and they are wearing masks but $3 per customer they are getting way more money than they are spending on safety. And on top of that they expect tip so a simple beard trim could cost you $25 - $40 depending how luxurious you want it. I think that with those prices the salon should be able to absorb the loss of the sanitizer and the screens without the $3 increase. I will probably not be going back till they remove the fee.

Boardroom is an amazing little spot. Ive only been in during the pandemic, but it was not crowded and the chairs are spaced pretty well apart. It has a very masculine atmosphere and courteous staff to assist. The waiting area is not very large so on days that it may be busy I could see this being difficult to navigate, but there are a good amount of chairs for clients to get cuts at the same time so I would imagine the line moves quickly. The cut was good for being some where I had not been and with a stylist that had never worked with my thick quarantine hair before. I did not get any of the upgraded features due to time but do intend to one day. I saw they had a membership option as well but with only one location in the city it was difficult for me to say this would be worth while for me, but it might work out in the future. Price for the cut is definitely not inexpensive so check pricing beforehand if you are used to going somewhere that may not have the ambience this company does. Overall, good experience, will visit again soon.

Went in for a haircut. The stylist didn’t even have her own station. Was working out of a plastic bin on the ground. Haircut felt extremely rushed... no attention to detail. They didn’t even blow dry my hair or clean off all the little hairs all over my face. There are better places to get a haircut for the price.

After my second botched haircut here, I think I’m finally done. I’ve gotten enough good haircuts here that after the first incident I kept returning and called it an anomaly. Apparently not. Both times I’ve had to go elsewhere to have my hair fixed. The salon itself is very clean and has a nice atmosphere but they go through stylists so quickly I don’t think I’ve ever had the same stylist twice.

Awesome place Ashley D. specially makes everything great my hair comes out perfect every time and her personality and capability to hold a conversation while working makes the whole experience that much better! 100/100 recommend this place and her as a stylist!

The fake red head in the front was so rude when my boyfriend and I walked in. Instead of addressing me nicely,she told him,uh, your guest cant be in here. I understand the whole social distancing but I had a mask, and they did not inform him that it was only him that was allowed to he in the building. The only reason I even showed up was because we had other things to do after his haircut. I sat in the car for over an hour due to not being informed. Hes had other issues such as them rescheduling his appointments last minute and not to mention the haircuts have been pretty messed up,to the point where I have to fix his hair at home. The receptionist really needs to learn some customer service skills and a lesson on how to be nice to your customers.

I have been coming to the Boardroom Salon in San Antonio for 1.5 years now. Two things: 1) you pay for what you get and 2) what you get is absolutely fantastic.I started with Nicole M. She is now at the Dallas Salon. She was awesome. From the cut to all of the additional amenities included with the Benchmark option of service. The hair wash, the facial massage, paraffin wax hand treatment, arm massage, scalp massage is a great way to rejuvenate, replenish, re-charge, and simply care for yourself. I was used to getting just a haircut about every 3-4 weeks. After starting at the Boardroom, I went less frequently but when I went, I got the whole deal and all of the services included in the Benchmark. In the end, for the money you pay, which is about $60 for each Benchmark, you get a lot more back from the services provided.Nicole moved on to Dallas and then I started with Melissa. Another fantastic stylist and just a really cool person to talk with and spend time with. She listens to what you want and then gives you a lot of feedback, and includes a lot of check-ins with you, as she cuts and styles. To me, she wants to make sure that she not only styles your hair the way you want it but that she does a good job. Melissa is clearly an experienced and capable stylist.Melissa never stops trying to improve her skills as well. After learning some improved massage techniques from another client, she tried them on me and my scalp, face, and arms feel a lot better.Besides the great service from the stylists, the firm sells memberships that enable for you to take full advantage of all of the services at a great price. Paying for a 3 month membership, and coming every other week, enabled for me to get back the money I paid within the first 4 visits. The remaining 4-5 visits were essentially free!I highly recommend that if you have not tried the Boardroom Salon, that you try it a least once. If you are in San Antonio, book online, or call the Salon, and ask for Melissa. She works Wednesday through Sunday.

Caution! dont be 8 minutes late or you wont be attendedWhen I called, I asked for the last appointment and they gave me 7:30. Unfortunately I ran 8 minutes late and arrived 7:38, as well I did not receive any type a communication asking me if I would be there or confirming (its not there obligation, but its a business) so I assumed they were still busy with another client.So when I got there and there was 6 ladys standing in the reception and one told me they would not be able to cut my hair that day because I was late. I even said I would tip who ever cutted my hair for the inconvenience .Apparently they dont care for new costumers looking for a new stylist, not the service I would expect for the 50 dollar bil

I was a walk-in today. I am new here from Wyoming and have not had the chance to establish a place for a haircut and beard trim. They got me right in with the complimentary drink. They placed me in Taylor’s chair. She gave me an amazing cut and trim. My fiancé was very pleased. Thank you Taylor I will be back and will purchase an annual package.

Fantastic!!! Went for the first time today, and it was a great experience. Haircut, message, free beverage, friendly and professional staff, what more could you ask for? Came in having no idea what to do with my hair. Having spent 22 years in the Air Force I had one hair cut, the one that met the standards. Nothing special and always from the cheapest place around. After retiring, my hair was out of control, didn’t know what to do with it and had just let it grow for the heck of it. Briana called me back and asked me what I wanted and I didn’t have a answer. I gave her some very minimal guidance and basically left it in her hands, and she did an exceptional job. It’s been a long time since I’ve left a haircut and not put my hat back on, and this was one of those times, I didn’t want to mess it up. Briana then took the time to give me a full tour of this facility and let me know of some of the other services they offer. When they say it’s like a country club, they aren’t kidding. I walked out with a membership and really can’t wait for my next cut, which has never happened.Briana is top notch and professional. I would highly recommend her and the boardroom if you are looking for a different, high end, relaxing, spa like haircut experience.

50 dollar haircut for low quality technique. I even showed pictures. Three times i repeated this area isnt right and i got deer in headlights with no suggestions. I literally just had to get this haircut fixed. She was polite and nice, but nice doesnt mean a good cut.

In a previous life, I would put off going to get a haircut as long as I could 4, 5 sometimes as many as 8 weeks! Once I stepped foot into Boardroom @ the Quarry, I was hooked. It took 2 visits before I knew I had to have the unlimited subscription. Kim and her staff constantly do everything in their power to ensure the clients experience is beyond accommodating. I am now in the Boardroom on a weekly basis and simply love every visit. I am treated like a friend combined with all the professionalism of a client. They are always near the phones and responsive and Danielle and Aurora at the front desk meet all my rescheduling needs no matter how complex I may try and make it for them. I cannot recommend this place enough. I plan on re-renewing my year long membership (unlimited cuts!!) at my 2 year anniversary. LOVE THE BOARDROOM!

I havent quite put my finger on it yet, but it did not meet my expectations. Ill try to be more specific as soon as I get time.After posting this review the manager committed to call me. I knew that wouldnt happen. I realize now that the issue was staffing & training. The Boardroom exists at a premium price point. The staff did not measure up. It was as if they hired Sport Clips staff, asked them to dress better, and simply threw them in. Not the staffs fault actually, but that didnt make me feel any better about the experience. I havent been back.

Ive visited the Boardroom about four times now and tried a different barber each time. The first time was very good, the next two were decent, but today... Monica ailed it! She did a great job and showed genuine excitement for the work she did which demonstrates a sense of pride for what she does and didnt treat me as just another haircut. Great job Monica! I really appreciate it.For the barbershop as a whole... I would like to recommend a complimentary hot towel for every haircut. For the price of a haircut I think this would be a great addition that customers would appreciate.

This is the first time that I visit a salon to get my haircuts and waxing. I was amazed at how awesome The Boardroom turned out to be. I felt very comfortable and the staff there are so courteous. Especially Ashley, she was extremely professional and did an outstanding job on my hair and waxing. Thank you Ashley! Prices were fair...I ordered the Express cut, color, and eyebrow wax. I’d give the rating less if it were possible. My second trip here as I thought the first was just beginners bad luck. Communication is the key to success, so when a customer is paying $45 for a haircut, listen ! I have a short, easy to maintain hairstyle, so light trimming is all that’s necessary, and what I asked for. Slapping a guard on some clippers and zipping up and down the back of my head I can get for $10 at any local barbershop. I made it clearly understood that I was not happy with my experience, yet no effort to provide compensation or try and retain my business.

Previously left a bad review due to an issue with the staff not keeping to an appointment time. Jackie is the only reason I am able to update this into a positive review. Excellent service and a great job with my hair and beard.

Took my husband here for the first time. His appointment was at 1:15 but he didnt get seen until 1:30. He said Valeria was super sweet.The spa part was great. The haircut itself was not so good. He had uneven hair line in the back, he had to trim some longer hairs off himself after he got home. He felt like valeria was in a rush. He asked her to use the clippers to trim his eyebrows but she said that would be another fee on top of the 60 bucks. He usually goes to sports clips and they do it there for free plus it cost half of what he paid here and the haircut is way better. He wont return here. I wont recommend that you not try the place for yourself, hopefully you will have a better experience. The ambience was nice!

Overall terrible experience. Stylist deviated from what I originally told her to do and kept second guessing me with what I wanted to have done I guess because she’s the “professional”. The cut isn’t bad but it’s not exactly what I wanted. And honestly for a better price I get the same experience at sport clips without as much hassle or second guessing and on top of everything she ended up cutting me with one of her clippers. Yeah, it’s nice to have complimentary drinks but I’d rather trade that for stylists that actually listen to the client. And at least at sport clips I get a shoulder message for the price that I paid.

This place did a great job. First, when you walk, in the atmosphere is exactly what I aspire my house to be. Smells like coffee and leather and looks like if Chuck Norris was a building. Bow the young lady that cut my hair did a phenomenal job. I had a dramatic cut from my shoulders to above my ears and she nailed it. Going back when Im in town.

My first visit: called day of my appointment they were able to fit me in. Upon my arrival greeted by helpful very friendly staff offered me a drink (beer) which was awesome. Stylist was very nice and professional. They did great job of explaining services. Trimmed beard awesome hair wash with head massage. Second visit good barber did a decent job on haircuts felt a little rushed but girl that trimmed beard saved my visit. Going one more time will update review accordingly.

I’m not a man with a lot of hair. As such, this is not the sort of service I would typically spring for, but my family was kind enough to buy a gift certificate for me. It would be relaxing they said. The certificate was $60, and they hoped that the value would cover maybe 2 services.The boardroom menu charges $40 for a haircut, and $15 for a beard trim.When I made my appointment, I was clear about what I needed: guard-less trimmers all around, head and face. I was quoted $40. Which is alone absurd. $40 is what they charge for a cut/style for a full head of hair. Something I have not had for many years.When I arrived on a rainy Monday morning, I was scolded for being 3 minutes late. 1003. Typically, I am never late, but when still. 3 minutes late for a $40 / 20 minute service seemed a little aggressive considering the weather and traffic.The service itself was fine. A quick buzz of the clippers, rinse of the head, and I was on my way. Was a little disappointed to not receive a straight razor line-up given the price of the service, but it’s fine.When I go to check out, I am told “$60 for your haircut and beard service.” I reminded the woman at checkout of our conversation and the fact that I don’t have hair nor a beard. I got a quick lineup. Nonetheless, $60.Absurd. I sure do miss The QG in Baltimore where you didn’t have to worry about such shenanigans.Clearly The Boardroom is much more concerned with maximizing each revenue opportunity than creating lasting client relationships.My advice? Check out an independent barber downtown. Better price, better service, far better experience.

Really nice ladies, but an average haircut at the highest price. Side part was not done correctly, a second haircut was needed to clean it up. Go to Barberia on San Pedro. 14 bucks for an extremely professional barber cut!

Let me start off by saying that I have never pampered myself with body work before, but I had an awesome experience at Boardroom! My technician Kat was friendly, professional, and skilled at her work. She made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived and took great care of me. I went for a pedicure and back wax and was honestly not too sure what to expect, but I am extremely pleased with the results and reasonable prices. Thanks Boardroom!

This was my first experience with the boardroom and I will definitely be back soon. I usually cut my own hair, so I decided to do the benchmark to treat myself and it was awesome. Andrea was my stylist and she did a great job! The entire appointment made me relaxed and is an oasis for men to just get their haircut, enjoy a beer and some other perks if you pay for it. I am strongly considering getting a yearly membership due to my experience today.

Update: The Boardroom is a completely adequate salon for men. The stylists are competent and the establishment is always very clean. After being a regular for over 4 years, theres an issue that caused me to revise my rating. The amount of turnover makes it difficult to get a consistent haircut each time. Considering the price has increased approximately 150% since my first visit, I would rather not take a chance on a new stylist each time. Again, if you are someone who can afford to spend $50+ on a haircut and dont have a preferred stylist, this place is great. If you are trying to find someone specific to work on your hair for the foreseeable future, you may want to look elsewhere.The Benchmark experience is completely worth the cost. Jeanette was extremely professional and very skilled. I took one star off for two reasons. First, the receptionist I spoke with over the phone was neither friendly nor helpful. Second, I wasnt blown away by the shaving experience (safety razor). I will have to give the Barber an opportunity to use a straight razor next time. I will return for the massage experience and provide an update. Lastly, I would like to recognize Angelica who went out of her way to ensure I enjoyed my visit. Her enthusiasm and professionalism were appreciated.

Best haircut experience Ive had. The staff was welcoming and offered me a drink the moment I walked in. The waiting room has nice leather chairs to sit in while you watch ESPN and there were no screaming kids running around.The girl who cut my hair was actually new, which was unexpected, but she made sure she took the time to hear anything I had to say and stuck with it until I was completely satisfied.It is a bit more pricey than what I was used to paying before but the difference in price is definitely reflected in the difference in service. Id recommend anyone to try it out.

Ashley has been cutting my son’s hair for several months and I will never take him to anyone else. I’ve always loved the boardroom and Ashley is the absolute best there. Since this is place is playing to the always-needing-to-be-impressed millennial, the dark wood (actually plywood 4X8 sheets) and nice music are a pleasant distraction.

Overall a wonderful expirence from start to finish. It was my first time going so I just got their basic express cut to get the feel of the place. Even though it was just a cut and shampoo I came out looking and feeling sharp. Skilled barbers with good chair side manner. Even with their basic package I felt like Id been to the spa. I cant wait to try out their additional services and seriously considering a membership.The only con I could think of is the price if your on a strict budget. Its worth every penny and youll feel like a 5 star guest and get 5 star service. If your someone who cant see themselves paying more than $10 at great Clips for a haircut I encourage you to treat yourself.

Walked in Around 445 Auora the cashier was pleasant, I was a bit rude did not want to wait an hour for haircut, so I left. Tried another place and it was terrible so decided to take her advice and book appointment, arrived fifteen minutes early and was greeted and has stylist available. Meet Melissa GREAT GREST experience, I have never been there before and was made very comfortable and she walked me on what I wanted and made a suggestion and we compromised and I must say the best haircut in a long time and the Boardwalk was worth the money. Will be back definitely and will being more patrons

I went in just to get my beard a trim and get it a good shape as well. Cheyenne did an amazing job! The shape and style she recommended came out even better than i had imagined! Definitely will be back again!!

My husband will never go back here again. She basically cut his hair in the dark. The back was not cut, it was SHAVED, and unevenly at that. She was condescending when he pulled out his comb. Only when he got home did he realize he didn’t need his comb anymore because he no hair on the back of his head. All at a premium rate. No thank you.

I schedule with Ashley every time I come in now and she does an amazing job, whether it be hair or face! Very fun to talk to throughout the cut as well, would recommend for anyone else who is looking to get their hair cut here in San Antonio to do so with her!

You can choose from several levels of services. No guys, think more platonically than what you are thinking.This is the place.

55$ for a basic mens pedicure?! Naaah!

Pretty good, but not extraordinary or anything. I got a $30 haircut for $45.

I thought I was just going in for a haircut. But the shampoo and head scalp massage was a nice surprise.

Place is very nice, with some good services provided. My first and most likely last visit. Haircut took about 12 minutes of rushed clipper usage, followed by some erratic razor usage to thin and texture. The place is clean and the stylists are very nice, but the product does not warrant the price tag. Youll be paying the premium for atmosphere, not quality unfortunately. But, if you have the money to spend and arent particular about your hair, you cant go wrong at this place. One and done for me--but may be the place for you.

This is the only place I go to get my haircut. Professional and very relaxing. Ambiance is calming and the stylists are all wonderful. Definitely get the membership.

I highly recommend Cheyanne, she cut my hair the first time which is why I came back. She did a wonderful job. However my next two visits didn’t go so well even with all the pictures I provided. I specially asked not to be scheduled with the same lady that cut my hair last time, I got her again. So after my cut today I had to go to another location to get it fixed. I provided several pictures that clearly showed what I wanted, fade sides and back with a layered top,long in the front and short towards the back. I also passed on the hair wash since the lady had long sharp nails. I will not be back. I had such high hopes for this place too.I put 3 stars because the location is absolutely prestine but the last two sessions didn’t go well.

Ashley D is on point every single time. She does a wonderful job and does it consitenly. The rest of the staff is very friendly and professional. Highly recommend!
