Staff was friendly, but long wait times and I have to question their product knowledge. I made an 8:00 am appointment over the phone for a 40,000 mile service. I asked the person on the phone if I could get the Polestar upgrade while they were performing the service. He stated it was available for my make and model, and they recently did the Polestar upgrade the same vehicle I own. I was told the service should take between 2-3 hours.When I dropped the vehicle off at the scheduled time, I was greeted with a 30+ minute wait before a service writer was able to help me. When I told him what I needed, he said that hopefully they would be able to work on my vehicle the same day. Hopefully? What is the purpose of making an appointment? He also said that the 2-3 hour service would be ready around 1 if he was able to get it in the same day. Thats about 5 hours for an inspection, oil change, and software update... But it wasnt ready by 1:00, it was 3:00 (7 hours after my scheduled appointment) when it was ready. And they werent able to do the Polestar upgrade because they stated it was not available for my car - stating a vehicle that that wasnt even available during my year model. Not sure why they could not perform the Polestar upgrade because both Polestar and Volvos website both show it is available for my year model, make, and engine.This experience was very disappointing considering I drove 3 hours to this dealership, waited 7 hours for an oil change, then drove 3 hours home without the all the services I was expecting.If it was not for the friendly employees and loaner vehicle so I could get lunch, I would give them a 1 star.At this point, I cannot recommend Principle Volvo for service of your vehicle.
We shipped our vehicle to this location from Germany through the Volvo home shipment program. When we went to pick up the vehicle, we waited significantly longer than what we had anticipated. Once David C. from the service department got involved in getting our car ready, we were on the road quickly. On the way home we noticed issues with the breaks (this seems to be a problem that developed while our vehicle was being shipped by the company Volvo contracts). I was able to get an appointment with in a couple of days. Again, I was lucky to work with David C. from the service department. He used all available warranties to ensure we paid as little out of pocket as possible for the repairs. Due to Davids excellent costumer service, this will be the only place we use for services in this area.Update: Just got my 30k services done and as expected, great costumer service. I worked with Cody K. This time and he was great. I highly recommend the service department here as they have a great team.
If all car sales staff were like Kelli Rodriguez, we would be buying a new car every year. She made the car buying experience fun. It all started with a call 45 minutes before closing. She went above and beyond to have her staff meet our desired trade in value. We drove in the next morning and she treated us like family. Despite the rain, she patiently test drove three vehicles with us. Little did we know the XC60 she picked for me would be the winner! Kelli is outstanding. She even took us to lunch while detail finished with the new XC60. Finance manager Luis Servin was also outstanding. This is the first time ever I walked out of finance smiling and not feeling any pressure at all. We are vroom vrooming around. I highly reccomend Principle. Thanks Kelli!

What I loved most is that Billy has been with Principle Volvo for over 15 years, which was obvious in our initial conversations. He had extended knowledge of the vehicle and spoke with passion about the Volvo brand. LUCKY to be alive. Was told the car trade in I purchased was checked out before leaving and I drove home and noticed it rode rough. Took it to a mechanic and found out my tire pressure was SIXTY ONE on the highest and FIFTY FOUR on the lowest. It was supposed to be set at 32. 40 as an absolute maximum. If I had a blowout on top of one of those interstates I would have died due to the incompetency of this dealership, I do not care if it is buy as is. You dont let people leave with deathtraps.

Everybody who worked with us made sure to pay attention to exactly what we were looking for and accommodate our tight schedule we have. I had an excellent experience with Daniel at Volvo today. Truth be told, I haven’t always had a great experience at this service center, but having a great service tech makes a huge difference. All I needed at first was an oil change, and it was a zoo when I got there for my 8 am appointment, so I was worried about getting the service done efficiently. I told Daniel that it would really help me to get it done by noon to facilitate my pick-up, and he honestly said he would try, but couldn’t guarantee it. After my 24-point inspection, it turned out I needed several fluids replaced and a new cabin filter and new spark plugs; so had no hope of getting my car by noon, but not only did Daniel manage to get everything done in time, he also fit in the courtesy car wash AND got Volvo to honor both the coupons I had for the various services. I highly recommend asking for Daniel when you bring your car here for service; he literally made my day today.
David did awesome and got car in and out and Juan was the best driver in the world. Juan got me to a coffee shop that was out of his way and was polite sweet and great driver!!!

I have had my vehicle towed to your location twice due to engine issues after extensive repairs and cost! The Service personnel at your company have been great. Ty has been on top of everything for me but the fact that I have spent 6k in repairs and my vehicle has returned twice and your tow service is extremely lacking in execution ensures that I provide a rating of 3 stars. Also the fact that your company could not provide a courtesy car is not a plus either.

Volvo Service Department is outstanding. Very organized, and it starts with the greeter checking you in and to minimize disrupting your day, the loaner cars available. I purchase Volvo vehicles for their dependability and for their service department. I hear horror stories with name brand service departments where their customers are not their priority and that solidifies my choice of sticking with Volvo.

I come from out of town for service on a Saturday because I couldnt come during the week. I tried to arrive as early as possible. To my surprise, my vehicle was able to be serviced that same Saturday and was even done much less than the anticipated time. It was a really great experience with Mr. Collins. This will be the 6th Volvo I got from you guys . We had some problems but your guys came threw in the end and made my wife happy this is just a thought try to keep your cars parked away from the trees in your back lot the Oak trees have a yellow pollen that dry rot the rubbers around the windows and get everywhere. Also Volvo should find away to help customers that get a car and have to bring it back due to problems with the car. The cost of returning the car for restocking or taxes should not fall on the customer the car I returned was 37900 and everything it was 44000 I had a negative amount left and it was added to my new car I understand it is about overhead and money at the end of the day but would have been nice not to have the negative impact on my payment other than that I was happy with the deal see you in two years for my next car have a blessed day

I really enjoyed working with Steven G. on my new Volvo. I live in Austin and we did a lot of the communication on the phone. During the whole process he was very communicative and didn’t miss a beat. Even when things did not go as expected he always had solutions. This helped put me at ease, because buying a car is stressful enough. I am also glad I got the specific XC60 i did, as its been great so far and I really enjoy driving it.
Volvo of San Antonio service and the assistance from Kevin Nichols was outstanding. They were very communicative throughout the entire process and were timely in addressing my specific issues. I usually find that when there is only one provider in the city of the service you require and you have no other options, youre subject to whatever quality of service that one provider, with no competition, decides to give you. Principle Volvo treats their customers as if the competition is right next door.
The one thing I was a little disappointed with, is that I requested for my headlights to get cleared up, and I understand that this is a service provided from a third party, however for $75 dollars, they should have done the entire area that also covers the yellow front signal light reflector as well. It seems to me that they only cared about making the money in a hurry, and not actually doing a complete thorough job. The next time I take my vehicle for service again, I want them to finish the job, free of charge. Attention to detail should be something that they take pride in, and not do sloppy work for so much money that I had to pay for buffing those front lights out properly. I have attached pictures of the front headlights for evidence of what I am describing. I would like the service department management to put this on my service record, so it can get rectified free of charge. I had my low mileage (55K) 2016 Volvo XC90 towed here on a Friday evening as my vehicle would start and shut off immediately. This occurred while I was traveling with a family of 5 on a road trip back to Fort Worth. My concerns were not taking seriously and I was dismissed, I suspect it was due to them not wanting to deal with the issue. When it initially arrived on their lot, the service adviser shared with me that the vehicle didn’t even start for him. On Tuesday of the following week, I was informed that the issue could “not be duplicated” and they would no longer be looking at my car. I was told they drove the car 25 miles and not even so much as a check engine light was on. I had the car shipped back to me in Fort Worth, started the car and it immediately displayed a check engine message, and the car shut off!!!! In less than 30 seconds, I was able to duplicate the issue that they allegedly couldn’t find in 2 days! If this is the type of “honesty and integrity” you can expect from this dealership, I would stay FAR AWAY. Consider yourself warned!!!

The dealership was professional and took good care of my car. They communicated very well even sending a video of the work to be done so I could see the dirty air filter and the other things that needed to be done.
I have not had a good experience so far. I made a purchase last Friday, I don’t believe the vehicle I bought should have been on the lot yet. I had to take it back to get some repair on a recalled hose which should have been done before my purchase. Communication has been horrible, my salesman never followed up, I made numerous calls to sales managers with no calls back. I ended up driving over there myself to get the issue resolved. It has been 5 days and no word on progress either. I expected much better service from Volvo, experience is definitely not consistent with BMW or Lexus.

I was supposed to buy a 2018 certified s60 and I talked to one of the sales guy (Cameron) and he sent me price and we both agreed on everything. When I said I am coming from Austin to buy the car, he then said the windshield was broken and they will replace the next day. I drove to the dealership and he shown me a different car and said the car I wanted was a service car and its not available but in the website it’s still available. Then I spoke with a different sales agent in the next few minutes, she said it was available and quoted me a increased price. I am trying to reach to the sales manager and no one’s responding to my calls.I advice people to stay away from this place.I want to give zero stars
First time at a Volvo dealership and had one if the best experiences I’ve EVER had at any dealership. My sales representative Ray Aguilar is phenomenal. He was very respectful very helpful, and not pushy like other car sales representatives. Currently trying to close on a vehicle but the experience was a 10/10!

I was so very pleased with the outcome of service. Clearly, this Volvo dealership STILL cares about their Volvo owners. And I was considering a change of automobiles.Clearly the right choice.

I’m sorry to say that I had a very unprofessional experience at this car dealership. The sales person I worked with was very kind until I presented him with research I had completed. My car was undervalued by $4,000 and the SUV I was interested in purchasing was overvalued by about $7,000. I expected this would happen (to some degree) because negotiations are part of the game when buying a vehicle but I did not expect the salesman to become aggressive and hostile. I was fortunate we weren’t in an office with the door closed because, honestly, I felt unsafe. Furthermore, the salesman would not entertain any sort of negotiation. I do not think a man would have been treated with such disrespect and aggression and I warn any woman buying a car by herself to avoid this dealership.
Thus far, our experience with Volvo have been horrific. We leased a new SUV in 2019 and within 1,500 miles the engine exploded while driving on the highway. After replacing the engine, the same issue happened a few hundred miles later and the local management and Volvo USA refused our request to swap vehicles.Obviously a lemon and they didn’t want it back or make it right with us. Just feel sorry for the next person to purchase this vehicle after we turn it in.Definitely do not buy a Volvo and beware of Volvo San Antonio.
It would have been 5 stars however there was some lag time in the tune -up of my Volvo. Customer service was excellent by every employee I spoke with. Lag time in service time was my only grievance. This is the third time I have had my vehicle at Principle Volvo for routine maintenance or repairs. Each time I was given a clear understanding of what was going to be replaced or repaired. Everyone is very friendly, professional and courteous. Communication was always on point.

I have always had great service from this dealership, from when it was Volvo of San Antonio and now Principle Volvo. The customer relations are spot-on, and the quality of repairs has been excellent. I love my C30 and plan on keeping it until it just cant run anymore, so I prefer to have genuine Volvo service. Dealership repairs are more expensive, but when you factor in the repair guarantees, the use of a nice loaner vehicle and the delivery service, its well worth it.

They even send a video recording of your vehicles issues they find and the maintenance theyre going to perform on it. Bryan was very informative of the process and Sean (Shawn?) was did an amazing job on the maintenance and explaining what would be done to the car. We had just bought our Volvo, and we were driving between Houston and San Antonio when we got a nail in the sidewall of our tire. We got to Principle first thing in the morning, and David took care of us immediately. He got us a loaner without our asking, which made it much easier to do our business in San Antonio on schedule. He then got the car done hours before promised. If I lived in San Antonio I would definitely utilize their service department. Five stars for sure.
Such a bad experience!!! Every time I send my car for the service they never fixed it right what they need to after my every service when they send back and after few weeks the same problem comes up again so we always have the trouble.. they never fix what they supposed to..they never help us out friendly.. we been have this problem since we bought the car!! Two years ago, I went there with the intention to buy a SUV with 360 cameras, and all the safety sensors, etc. Then I bought my first XC 90 with Nanocure protection ( was told it’s a insurance for small paint chips and dents) there, after a few days I found out I could use none of those safety features. So I returned to the dealership, so the same salesman told me my settings was off, and he adjusted it.Then I went home, still couldn’t see any safety features. So I call the Volvo service department. And the manager told me that car was NOT equipped with any safety features I was sold for. Bumper! Then the car got in a accident partially due to lack of the safety features. It took a week for the body shop to fix it up. Then 10 minutes after I picked it up, the windshield cracked when the car was in the library parking lot.I drove back to the Volvo. They found no reason for this crack, not any dent spot on the crack at all. I felt that car was cursed or something going on, which was not meant for me. And the salesman didn’t know that he was doing or intentionally tried to trick me. The general manager at that time, Bud, sincerely apologized and wanted to make things right.So I trade in my first XC90, for another XC 90 with all the safety features I wanted. And Bud signed the document indicating the Nanocure protection and other warranty/service would be transferred.This time I went for my car maintenance, and told the service person, Daniel that I have a few small scratches and one small dent to be fixed with my Nanocure. Guess what? I was told that my current car has no record of Nanocure, and even I have it, it doesn’t cover any scratches or dent. So another $700 worth of BS they sold me. I showed him the Nanocure protection and transfer documents I have. But he has no authority to do anything except to let me talk to the new general manager.
I had my Volvo XC60 repaired at Principle Volvo in San Antonio today. Everyone was very polite and business like making me feel right at home. All details of my repair were explained ahead of time including the cost. I am very happy with my service experience and would recommend them to anyone needing quality work done on their Volvo.
Had money ready to buy vehicle, Just asked for a few more pictures and a video as I am from out of town. Salesman (Maleek) Never sent anything. Called twice & left voicemail. Receptionist was rude and seemed un interested to get me a more helpful salesman....Guess I’ll buy somewhere else.

My family has been doing business with Principle Volvo since Dec 2009. Just this week alone we had several interactions with staff members from different departments at this dealership.Ray in Sales. Ray was the first person we met at this dealership in 2009. He sold my wife her first Volvo and just this week sold her second Volvo. Ray knew what we were looking for, understood my wifes driving habits and found her a certified XC 40 she absolutely loves.Kevin in service. Regardless of how busy the service department is, Kevin has never failed to answer any service question. The times Ive called the service department Kevin has always gotten the information I needed quickly.Cody handled the service of my V90 Cross Country today. Cody was knowledgeable, personable and kept me informed as to the status of my car. When I dropped my car off Cody got me in and out quickly. The courtesy vehicle I was provided was clean and ready. Cody said my vehicle would be ready after 2pm. When I came to the dealership my car was clean, ready and all the paperwork ready for my review.The text message from the technician Luke, who serviced my car, provided a video of my car on the lift. Principal Volvo Cars San Antonio has an amazing customer service team that took care of all my needs! Vehicle had a leak on the driver side door that was allowing waters to enter the floor mat area. Drove to work during a light rain and the problem progressed into engine error lights on the dash and a perceived transmission problem. I limped into the dealer without an appointment and was greeted by Cody. We talk about a diagnostic to determine the issues and the cost, which was my primary concern. The next day I recieved a very informative video from the mechanic showing me problem areas and steps needed to correct the issue. Cody was all over my cost concerns and left me confident when authorizing my service request. A loaner vechicle was not immediately available but i recieved a call the next day to collect one. No surprises, vehicle fixed in 72 hours and under qouted cost. Amazing job and amazing service from a brand I trust and love! Thanks for everything Cody... your the man!
