I have used Western Veterinary Hospital for years for my sweet dog, Jasper. Before adopting Jasper, I owned a beloved Yellow Lab and four cats, who have all passed on due to age. Dr. Gary Hodges has taken excellent care of all of them. He is so passionate about what he does and treats every animal as if they were his own. The Hospitals staff have always treated me and my babies like we are family. I wouldnt even consider taking my pet(s) anywhere else!!

I love everyone there. They put our animals health first. They saved my precious Sadies life. I have 2 dogs and a diabetic cat. I wouldnt trust my animals with anyone else.

We are from CT and adopted Capone, while here in TX. He was seen 2 Times while we were still visiting TX. The comfort of the waiting room was better than most human medical facilities. I felt the staff was interested and attentive to our pets needs as well as what we were concerned about. It was all around a good experience. And then a few days later we got a thank you email. How nice to know our business with them is appreciated as well.

Visited with Tiny and Ed today. We are new to the area, so I was slightly nervous at the prospect of a new caretaker for our canine family. I was well taken care of by the intake staff, they were kind and speedy. I was quickly seen with Tiny and gave history to a lovely nurse. Dr. Cooper was understanding and attentive, he did not find ways to over-charge us as has been our experience elsewhere. Both our dogs were made comfortable and both liked the Doctor and nurse very much. All in all a great experience considering we were dealing with an earache and potential spine injury. Recommend Dr. Cooper absolutely. Less important, but a nice side note, the office is clean and very modern with room for clients to be separated properly.

I called today because my regular vet was out of office and my senior cat had a UTI that needed to be tended to. I also had a dog with a hot spot that wasn’t getting better. I was able to walk in with both animals, same day, be treated and leave with money still in my account! I’m more than excited that they seemed so knowledgeable. Facility is immaculate. I’m probably going to be switching for good ❤️

This is the most compassionate veterinary practice I have ever used in my 50 + years as a pet owner. I have had only positive experiences with this business. Although my favorite veterinarian at this location is Dr. Hodges who is absolutely wonderful, I have had great care and communication with other veterinarians here as well. I always get a personalized call back from the doctor everytime I ever call with a question or a concern regarding my precious furangels. I appreciate all the time and teaching that they are always willing to give. Western Veterinary Hospital is absolutely the best ever.

We have beloved pets, show/performance horses and plenty of livestock. This vet and their staff are great. They are animal lovers and owners, too. They are knowledgeable, experienced and have the facility to get anything and everything done. They are priced extremely fair!!! If you need anything, just give them a call. They will do everything in their power to help you and your animal.

I dont leave reviews often but I had to for this. After so many people giving good reviews and people telling me good things. Dont get me wrong, the staff was amazing and the atmosphere was good until the young vet walked in. I felt like he had no clue what was going on. I brought a stray cat in because of diarrhea and losing weight so I was sure she had some kind of parasite but he did not test, felt like he talked down on me about the cats care and then just gave her a pricey antibiotic which didnt help her. This upset me because I had already called ahead thinking what kind of price I would be paying for visit and stool test. Today I finally saw the round worms, which is easy to treat but was told I need to bring her in again. This is not right. Im very upset because Im trying so hard to help these strays with what little money I have and to be treated that way just makes me lose hope.

My family has been rescuing horses for a while now and every time we get some in we always take them here! This is the best vet clinic I’ve been to! I’m fixing to take a calf in Monday and I’m 100% the issue will be fixed. I love this place and highly recommend them!

Incredible service, professional, well equipped, caring and reasonable. We took in our 4 month old donkey, hit by a truck and due to the injury. We had to put him down. They were loving, caring and respectful. The honored us.animals. He was a family meber and the staff honored us and him.

I am a new client decided to try WVH after many, many years with another vet. First my dog was sick a couple of weeks ago. They staff got me straight in. We saw Doctor Cullen Cooper, I loved that they listened to me and observed my dog. Gizmo can be a cranky old lady. The second visit was an emergency for one of our cats, Dr Hodges met me at 10.30pm and could not have been more caring. Tremendous service and very reasonable prices. A great facility but you dont need a second mortgage to pay your bill.

I cannot recommend this hospital more, and I regret not knowing about it sooner. This is the finest staff of professionals I have ever encountered, and it could not be more clear that they truly care about all of the animals in their care and not just making money off of people who love their furry children. Their facility is state-of-the-art. Absolutely First Class.

Not only did they give us the care and professionalism we needed for our poor baby kitten but gave us a peace of mind, we had taken are baby kitten to TWO other veterinarians one lied and misdiagnosed her and another gave little assistance. We appreciate the time and care they took to help us get to where we needed to be for our sweet girl. We found our new vet for our sweet girl.

I live only a few miles from them and they had been very helpful with one of our pups. He has a liver condition and without their service he may have not made it one late evening. They now take care of all of our fur babies. Thanks guys and gals

Took my 4 dogs to the boarding kennels. These dogs have never been boarded out. Three of the dogs are seniors. The dogs came back in amazing shape and attitude. Be mindful these are large dogs use to free open space going only with us to do chores. Thumbs up and thank you for providing such a great service.

I love these people they always make me feel like a part of the family and make sure my dogs are well taken care of. Ive been 3 times in the year since I adopted my dog, and all 3 times have been great. The staff is very friendly and knows my dog and even his brothers and sisters (or they just keep really good records). Friday I dropped the little guy off for his neutering, and Saturday morning when I went to pick him up they remembered me and who I was there for. Id recommend them to anyone with a pet.

The most amazing experience at a Veterinarian we have had. We were out of town and our dog needed her yearly shots, they accepted us as walk-in patients and we were in and out very fast. Dr. Hodges and his staff were all amazing!

The vets were attentive to the needs of my horse and answered the questions I had and were professional. Their facility is fully fenced-in so should a horse get loose it will remain on the premises. Their prices seemed to be better than other places in the area. Not only do they handle equine / large animals but they also take care of dogs, cats, and the sort.

They had my dog in and out (she was attacked by a big dog. It was running with my dogs neck in her mouth but my dog was on a leash so she dropped her when I went outside) they’re amazing !!❤️ Also, they’re open 24/7, if something happens to your animal, just call the number when it’s late hours (past 7)

After our vet retired, we had to find someplace else to take our animals. We tried out Western Veterinary Hospital and have not been disappointed. Theyre courteous, carrying, and thoughtful. Theyll be our new vet home for the foreseeable future.

The western vet clinic is very clean, very friendly. They get you in and out in a timely manner, they are not expensive. My dogs like going to this vet. And I feel comfortable leaving them there for a week or so if I have to, I know they will be taken care of.

Western Veterinary goes above and beyond. We have taken our pets to multiple vets withing the last few years, and Dr. Hodges and the staff at Western Veterinary are exceptional. I will not take my pets anywhere else. Thank yall for caring so much and taking care of your patients.

Weve been with Dr Hodges for years, and hes always been amazing but this time when we had to say goodbye to our beloved family pet of 16 years they went so far above and beyond, they were kind and compassionate and he couldnt have been handled with more respect. There is nobody better than Gary Hodges and his staff to take care of your pet. He has been there time and time again for my friends Liz Jones and Terry Wallace when they have needed him. He is the man to help us get through the loss of a beloved pet and he has the gentleness and kindness that is needed. He has taken great care of my dog Mojo and was there for us at the end of the day when Mojo was attacked by another dog. Dr. Hodges makes things so much easier no matter how bad they are because when he is there we have a great friend who cares about the pets family as much as the pet. He has excellent staff who are perfect in my opinion.

I have taken my 4 legged babies to other vets and not happy with them as I am with Western Veterinary clinic. Western Veterinary clinic understands that you pet is a part of your family.

I have seen Dr. Hodges ever sincr i can remember. I was so upset when he retired. But then he opened this top notch facility. I still see hom sometimes or any of his highly trained small animal specialist that he had employed. If you have large animal he has employed highly trained vets there too. And even a top notch horse surgery and rehab facility. You have to see what the can dfo for your large animals. The facilities are beautiful, complimentary coffees, sodas or cold bottled water. Prices are very reasonalble too. 24 hr. on call service, thats also reasonable, and a really nice well tended kennel service with live video to check in on your babies if you should ever have to leave them. They really know what they are doing to give your pet the best care. You will love this place. I do. Also they get you right in same day usually. There are 6 or 7 vets so you hardly ever have to wait. Love it.

Excellent, timely, responsive care for our dogs. We have found our vet in San Angelo!

If I could give them a zero I would the doctor barely looked at my dog and gave him basic antibiotics that did nothing, we had to take him back to a different vet a week later for the exact same problem.

They are so awesome to our little Birkey Turkey...
