I always leave satisfied and a little smarter. Hes been in the business for years, and trained by barbers for whom the career was a lifetime pursuit, so he knows his stuff. The place to go no matter what type of hair you have. You will be hard pressed to find someone more knowledgeable and skilled on the subject of hair than Mark. Hell sculpt your hair to something manageable and good looking for you. One thing, he will probably tell you No if you request certain styles. Go with it, hes an artist. Schedule ahead.

Ive been going to Mark for just shy of a year now, he is a fantastic barber. Where most places Ive ever been cut your hair like theyre mowing a lawn, Mark sculpts and makes it so the hair grows together, not only looking good that day, but for weeks later. His shop is a small one chair room and he plays jazz while he works, its very relaxing which is a big selling point for me, I dont like loud chattery places especially when someone is handling a razor on my face. Because of Mark I like my hair enough to grow it out which has never happened before. He also trims my beard, does a great job at that, and the beard cream he sells works wonders.

Mark teaches at a barber school and cuts hair at this little one-chair barber shop on his off days.After walking by here a few times I made an appointment for a shave and a haircut. Mark did a quick survey of my hair and pointed out how the way it grows in certain places affects what kind of styles would work or not. During the cut he explained what he was doing and how it would help mitigate the issues he somehow knew I always have and also make it easy to style.I was able to briefly explain how I like my hair and then trust him to make it look great. It was such a contrast to my usual experience where I have to give a haircutter detailed instructions and it turns out so-so because I dont know anything.And it does look great. It still looks great after sleeping on it. The pieces that always stick up are gone and it naturally holds its style.The shave was a pleasant experience with a series of cleansing/conditioning products and hot towels. It was like a manly facial complete with bay rum aftershave.

Mark is a very polite gentleman, and knowledgeable about barbering. Unfortunately when I went in it seemed like he just wanted to snip here and there and not take the time to make the cut as good as he could for the amount he charges.For the amount I paid, it couldve been a much better cut.
