The hotel looks really nice and a lot of their staff is super nice. When I got there the individual at the desk apologized for some concert outside but noise ordnance rules start at ten. Cool no problem.Unfortunately the first night I was there, the room next to mine was having a loud party that started at midnight. Someone must have called in because at 1230 I heard security knock on their door. That didn’t stop these guys. They got quiet for a bit and continued their party. I couldn’t stand it and made the second call at 430. Then a third at 630. It took their security until 7 am to kick these guys out. I was a wreck for my meeting the next day.I was appalled as to how they handles this situation.Stay somewhere else.
Ive stayed at countless Mariott and formerly Starwood Prefered Guest properties around the world. Unlike others, this one was a particular disappointment. Before laying out the specifics of this hotels failings, its worth noting that they charge $235+ a night. At check-in, the front desk informed me the property does not offer daily housekeeping; this is not unusual during the pandemic. Nevertheless, the attendant said, call us if you need any services. I tried that. It didnt work.First, I tried to call for extra towels via the room phone. Even after five attempts, I still couldnt get through to the front desk. I then called the hotels main phone number; somebody answered, and I requested the towels. They never came. Then, I called the day after and asked again for extra towels. The attendant said, well send someone up right away. Unsurprisingly, they didnt.A couple of hours later, I called again: this time asking for the towels I never received and a sheet change. The front desk said they couldnt change sheets but that theyd bring the towels right away. This time, I mentioned how many times Id called. Finally, after a total of seven phone calls, I got extra towels & sheets—what a miracle. Also, its worth mentioning that only two of seven power outlets worked in my room; among those that did not work, the nightstand outlets.
Nice, nothing special Marriott. Decent gym. Wish they had more gluten free options
We arrived at this hotel after a week of traveling around Utah and Wyoming. Upon our arrival, we were so impressed with the looks of the hotel we were contemplating adding an additional night to our stay. It only took 30 minutes after our arrival for things to turn south. We began unloading our bags from the car by the front door, and I realized I had lost my headphones. We had so much baggage in our rental car we also could not locate my dad’s cane. (He’s a disabled veteran). Because of this, we were unloading the car slowly. Not only were we trying to locate some things, but my dads mobility was impaired without his cane. The valet came up and very rudely told us to move our car because we had taken 37 minutes to unload our car instead of 35. My dad assured him that we were guests of the hotel and actually had purchased 2 rooms for the night, so he wouldn’t think we were just random people. The valet grew more hostile and demanded we move. My dad was annoyed and tired after a 6 hour drive, and told him he didn’t understand the problem when we were guests of the hotel unloading in a loading zone and that his tone was a bit dramatic. The valet then threatened to call the police and have them make us move our car since we wouldn’t. We were very caught off guard and offended that the valet would even say something like that to two guests of the hotel, especially when we hadn’t even refused to move the car. We were just asking him for grace while we located our items. My dad asked to speak to the director of the hotel and the valet told us that he was the director. We were confused as to why the director of the hotel was valeting cars. I was trying to explain to him that my dad and I weren’t going slow on purpose and that we were trying to find his cane and he walked away from me. We went inside after moving our vehicle and asked to speak to management. We didn’t want anything, we just wanted them to be aware that their valet was hostile towards a disabled veteran for taking 37 minutes instead of 35 and was threatening to call the cops on us for absolutely no reason, and also that they had hurt my dads feelings and ruined what was otherwise supposed to be a good day. We were informed that the valet was actually not the director of the hotel (shocker) and that the issue would be talked over with him. The manger we spoke to had a 2 second conversation with the valet and sent him on his way. I am just annoyed that we were not taken seriously, and that a valet threatened to call the cops on my disabled dad for being slow. Especially when the alternative was unloading in the parking garage, which was much harder for him. Not at all the welcome we were hoping for. As for the hotel, it’s beautiful and clean. There are many other beautiful and clean hotels in Salt Lake City, though. If you do stay here, just ignore the valet in red pants.
Very nice hotel. Staff are extremely nice and accommodating. Room service was fast and food was good. I am a creature of habit so this will be my go to spot for SLC, Utah.
Here are the reasons which I think 4 is a fair score:1. The employees are very nice and helpful2. Reasonable price - compared to same level hotel in other cities3. Rooms need to have refrigerator, but they don’t - Utah is hot 7 months of a year4. Hotels usually offer breakfast - not necessarily a great service - but this place doesn’t
In short....I was actually more unimpressed than impressed by this location. The 4star rating and prices dont justify it, it honestly is a 3 star Hotel all the way around bathroom, rooms, gym(very dated and limited) pool, jacuzzi. For the price you are better off staying at a Hilton or even a lower star Hotel that offers complimentary breakfast. What I give a 4 on is its location.
The hotel is very busy. Although it took some time to check in, the overall experience is good. The room facilities are still new and the bed is very comfortable. The living room space of the suite is enough for two families. The location of the hotel is also very good and convenient. I will choose to stay again.
One of the few Marriotts I go to that still has the free breakfast buffet for Bonvoy elites.
Fifteen minutes from the SLC airport, this was a convenient one night stay. Spacious rooms and very nice bathrooms. The gym is reasonable for a hotel gym. Within walking distance of shopping and great restaurants.
I have visited numerous Marriott’s across the country and they all have a similar style, which is to say that they are nice clean rooms with a certain sanitized look and feel. This Marriott is along the same lines and has many great qualities, such as the bar area in the lobby, pool, exercise room, and conference facilities. Knowing that it costs much to update hotels, I’m sure the management is hesitant to update the place but it seems to need some new touches of color and decor in the lobby and in the hallways of the room floors. While overall a very nice hotel, it lacks that wow factor that it could and should have. Also the location in downtown with easy access to restaurants and bars is a major plus. Lastly, the service and staff were very nice and, based on others reviews, I parked my car myself and had no issues. Next time I’m in SLC, I would consider staying here again.
We were not impressed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our sheets were covered in hair when we arrived. I called the front desk. They sent house keeping up with new sheets. The house keeper handed us the sheets and told them we could change them ourselves. We asked them to and they agreed. We were a little shocked... I mean we just paid $200 plus a $100 pet fee and arrived to a dirty bed and you want us to change the sheets ourselves? It was disappointing. The front desk person did not ask us how our stay was when we checked out. Thankfully we only spent one night here on a road trip.
The service here is amazing! The room is so clean and nice. We did get a little hot, but the staff gave us a big box fan to help with the heat. We were very pleased with everything here.
The front desk check-in was very helpful but after that was extremely difficult to get any answer from that of questions about check out, printed bill, or even being able to leave a simple message. All other services were great but Front desk was totally clueless and helping.
Loved the hotel. Great room and great location. Would have been a 5-star review if not for arrival experience. Really liked the concierge bar. Beware the full of himself valet and keeper of unloading area (minus 2 stars.) I arrived with a suburban full of people, 7 suitcases, 10 backpacks, etc. I took a while to unload - probably 30 minutes. Guy came up and asked if I needed valet. I said no. Guy then ordered me to immediately move. I thought he assumed I was just a random guy who pulled off road and told him I am a guest. In the span of 30 seconds rockstar threatened to call the police on me (I said go ahead,) declared he had made the executive decision that guests could no longer unload in the unloading area, told me I was a fire hazard, and then claimed to be the hotel manager when I asked for one. Before you think there were any actual safety factors, obstruction, etc. I assure you zero of this (witnesses present) - just a normal hotel guest unloading in the proper area combined with guy on a power trip who shouldnt be interacting with customers. Possibly delusional. I finished unloading and self parked, then complained to management inside. The valet commandant came inside and hid in the back office while I did. Real bad start to an otherwise great stay. Been all over the world in hundreds of hotels and this is certainly a first. Guy needs direct supervision while interacting with hotel guests at minimum. Surreal experience while out front. Still perturbed 2 weeks later.
Staff are very friendly, and rooms were very nice and clean. The staff were able to anticipate my needs and answer any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel staff were on point and fast paced. Arrived feeling under the weather and went to the incorrect hotel. Staff got me checked in right away. Awesome experience-restaurant is 4 star rating due to the way some staff tend to treat other customers based on what appeared to be color/race and/or appearance/perceived class. Restaurant staff, please be mindful of implicit bias. IE, when a couple arrives and you seat them next to the kitchen when window seating and other seating are clearly available, is like telling a person who is black they need to sit at the back of the bus. PS, the female waitress for the couple was very kind and attentive to this matter-10/10 for her waitressing and people skills.Would encourage staff to inquire where the customer would like to sit.*The good: on point, clean and modern room, front-end staff at restaurant were helpful and detail oriented, the sports/athletic needs were sufficient, and I enjoyed the minimal sound for maximum rest and relaxation.
I will tell you one thing that travel agents do not want you to know. When booking stays use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ Theyve got the best deals on rooms! So much better than using expedia, priceline, agoda. That is for sure!!!The service here is amazing! The room is so clean and nice. We did get a little hot, but the staff gave us a big box fan to help with the heat. We were very pleased with everything here.
Garrett’s&Ryan’s Will stay at you Salt Lake City Marriott City Center in 2023 in March and May and Indoor Pool and Hot Tub and Restaurant and Free Wi-Fi and Business Center and Fitness Center and Air-Conditioned and Room Service
Outstanding room. Clean and roomy with a wet bar.Outstanding service! Treated with respect we truly felt cared for.Very nice experience, I highly recommend.
The location is great. Walking distance to most every place downtown we wanted to go and a quick drive to the airport. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful.
I sat outside of here Last night at 3:30am to charge my cell phone but feel asleep and woke up at 6:45am and the entire time the US-BORN Russian guy managing the hotel for the Cartels had my cell phone for over an hour because my phone was supposed to be on the charger for over 3hrs BUT wasnt fully charged, Hot or damage!!! Please check the hotel security camera as I slept on 200 south St and State St
Pretty good hotel. Great fitness center.A bit worn around the edges, but clean and quiet.
Positive: The staff were helpful in locating an item I left behind Negative: The area in the city seemed very vacant during the weekend. The halls were rowdy and loud and you could hear everything through the door. Staff had to ask people to leave.
Very nice. What a great place in every regard.
Lady at front counter was nice. People over the phone were mean.
We are currently staying at Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek and thought we would try out the other one. We walked in to check it out as we were strolling the downtown and the desk clerk was immediately dismissive & completely uninterested in selling her hotel. We were extremely turned off by the her attitude and even though the rooms have been renovated and are nicer, we wont be finding out. Very unfortunate as I was excited about staying there the minute we planned the trip.
Guest services were superb and location is excellent at the heart of downtown. However the other elements of pay for parking, absolutely no pets allowed, and lack of amenities were the drawbacks. The room interior and personal amenities were minimal. No different ultimately from any other hotel room you could get for a far cheaper price. If cost is your deciding factor choose somewhere cheaper and you will get a very similar product.
Positive: The room was a great size and the bed was so comfortable.
I thought this would be a lot better than it was for the price. I stayed at a Marriott version yesterday literally a couple blocks away that I paid less for and it was a lot better. Had this not been prepaid Id go back there. After one night of sleep both beds the sheets are lifted on the corners and we needed to remake them. Just not what you are expecting from a Marriott. I was surprised this hotel had a 4.5 star average review as it shouldnt.Counters in room are sticky from prior guest, shower doesnt work well and I will be asking for it to be repaired, much lower budget looking rooms, and $7 for a basic cup of coffee to room service. Staff is friendly that is my only current positive here.
Very late post but figured I would like to share my experience about this place. We went here a couple years ago and after that experience we havent gone back. The room was good and we liked the location but during the night while we were watching a movie a knock was at our door. I went and answered it and it was security telling us we were being to loud. I showed them that the TV wasnt loud and we were just watching a movie. All they said was if they had to come up again they would kick us out. Dont know if the walls are paper thin or what but when a TV just at normal volume is to loud then something is wrong. Anyway just be aware that you need to keep the talking and TV at a whisper or security will be up and they were very rude with us.
We visited for a vacation. The location was a nice base camp for us to explore not only the city but surrounding areas. Its easy to get in and out of and central to a lot of the SLC sights to see. We visited in July 2021 and it seemed they were still somewhat short staffed. We arrived Wednesday and left Sunday, housekeeping did not come 1 time! We called on Friday and were told they were short staffed and didnt make it. We get it, COVID hiring concerns but I think more could have been done proactively to inform us and accommodate us.
Great staff, clean hotel, even during construction. Clean room and bathroom. Fridge is a bit small for those extended stays. Good location to eating, and convenient stores.
Jay and I cant wait for our next trip to Salt Lake City! Its hard to get five stars during the #COVID-19 #pandemic. But the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center made a fine showing, under the circumstances.I am not telling you our room number at the Marriott Salt Lake Downtown at City Creek, because youll all reserve it, and I want it available for us when we go back, because it was lovely. We were absolutely enthralled when we entered our 14th-floor corner room and that amazing view appeared before us in the corner picture windows. The Wasatch Mountain range loomed gorgeously in both the north and west windows of our corner room. In the left window, Temple Square nestled below the mountains, just across the street from the expensive high-rise condo building. To the right, I could see the University of Utah in the foothills. Which was even sweeter to me. Yall know me. Im a Texas community college administrator, former professor, who is all about those students working their way through college like I did. Your tips are helping those sweet student. Our biggest this time was for that sweet server who waited on us at #NachoDaddys - another review. So tip HIGH! #Dadgumit! If you can afford to travel, you can afford to tip 20%+ for excellent service!Just below the premium 15th and 16th balcony-level floors, our return on investment was absolutely exceptional compared to other cities in which we have stayed in centrally located hotels. Even with resort fees and taxes, we were just under $200/night over a weekend. That being said, we got the #Kiwanis Convention group rate, but try everything... go directly to Marriotts website, sign up for their #Bonvoy app, and use any other way to get your price point down. As you know, the price adjusts with the season.Down the elevator is a well-appointed lobby with a Starbucks and - ostensibly - a great restaurant. Im not certain, because I dined there two mornings. Breakfast was good, service was fine, $20 was standard. That being said, the line the next morning after the coaches and athletes checked in was prohibitively long, so I went exploring. (The perfect Eggs Benedict, my favorite vacay breakfast, is three blocks away at Evas. OMGoodness! Read that review - two days in a row with perfect eggs? Yes.) In post-COVID times, we all have to be patient with slower service and appreciate those who are willing to work. Be patient and tip high. That being said, the Marriott had no dinner restaurant when I was there. I asked the manager, and he said that they would not open until they could hire the staff to provide superlative service. Fair enough. The bar was good, and became an instant sports bar because the guests included a community college coaches convention, a high school basketball competition, and baseball and basketball playoffs on the TV, so Jay was a happy camper. Jay didnt test the bartender (as you know he usually does) to see if he could make the perfect very dry martini. Instead, we asked for two glasses of wine to take to our room, and the bartender graciously complied. He stayed, and me, I went upstairs with my glass and watched one of my Netflix shows on the free Bonvoy wifi - with my drapes open to that gorgeous mountain/city view. So, to reiterate, the lost star in the rating is due to the fact that we had no hot water until day 2. The manager made it whole and promised us that room when we return. That works for me!Jay and I cant wait for our next trip to Salt Lake City
Hotel was great! The location is amazing and so close to so many things to do. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. I will definitely be back!
Beautiful room, clean, comfortable, right downtown a block from many restaurants and attractions! I highly recommend this hotel. Great job Marriott!!!
Won’t be going back. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. I didn’t even get to take a shower because it was just cold water, room service is highly over priced cup of coffee was $7 ( it wasn’t even good coffee). Pool was dirty. For the price of the this place you’d think their rooms would look a lot better but they were not good at all.
Positive: Amenities, attentive and detail oriented staff. Negative: Some of the restaurant staff experience implicit bias which hinders the way they treat customers of diverse backgrounds and perceived classes.
Positive: Nothing my overall experience was note what I expected . My family tried to call in to speak with me and the front desk would not put them through. Negative: For the star rating and for the price I would not ever go there again
Great overnight stay. Staff was courteous even to the point of apologising a few times for the construction going on. Fun view of the city and mountains. Beautiful common areas in a style that portrays six sigma business retreat. The rooms are nothing extremely surprising. One nice plus is the room had laminate flooring I am less concerned about what is growing on the floor in comparison to the rooms that have carpet. All in all pleasant stay
Positive: The room was more better than I anticipated Negative: I did not like that I had only 1 night there
Clean hotel. We are a gold elite card holders. Showed up at 11 trying to see if we could check in earlier. We were told no. So we returned our rental car and went back around 12, 1 o’clock to try again. Again we were told no there was no room available. So we sat in the lobby and waited. After checking other guests in we were told a room was available, they were looking for a room in the first floor but they had a room available on the 8th floor. We took it. We were never given any kind of directions on what elevators to take to get to the room, or how to use the WiFi, or where the pool was located. The bar has a very limited selection, the bar tender was as equally as unfriendly as the front desk lady. You can’t order drinks to the room. It’s worth it to drive 3 and a half hours and stay out of Salt Lake City. This Marriott was the second worst Marriott I stayed at, next to Bay City Michigan.
Good hotel and staff and centrally located downtown. Theyre renovating the lobby area presently. Restaurant has decent food. Irritating that they are stingy with bottled waters.
Positive: Old out dated rooms. We had hair in in our tub. Chairs had stains. No trash liners in cans.
Absolutely l0ve this place. I really felt comfortable, the food was amazing, the quality was out of this world! Amazing experience.
So nice, very clean! We will be checking on the pool later tonight for my kids!
Positive: Muy bien ubicado Negative: Esta antiguo el edificio
I can’t believe I went to lay down and there was blood on my pillow I was so grossed out
After spending a week with my brother in Cache Valley we finished our trip with a weekend in Salt Lake. Our stay at the Marriott was exactly what we needed! The room was well appointed and very comfortable. We have a 2 year old so cleanliness is even more important. The entire room has tile floor so he was able to play cars without me worrying about him crawling on dirty carpet. The pool was fantastic and we enjoyed watching the city below while we relaxed in the hot tub. We were walking distance to everything and a trax stop is available just on the other side of Gallivan.Favorite - the pillows ❤️ and the gift bag they brought up with the pack and play. It was full of baby bath products. It was a very nice touch.Least favorite - although very comfortable (I really did sleep fantastic) the mattresses rely on a padded cover which kept riding up on the sides. I’d say new mattresses need to be on the 2021 improvement list.
It’s great if you want to be called literally 57 times a day by this company for well at least a year and a half I owe them no money they just constantly call me 😡
Positive: The staff and the nice touches of service in the hotel
Ive stayed in 100s of Marriott properties and few have been as bad as this hotel. Absolutely nothing went right in this hotel, and they didnt even care to know more about my stay after leaving a feedback. I waited 3 weeks before writing this review to see if theyd reach out, but nothing.I dont even know where to start about this hotel. Let me start with the biggest one1 - Bed. Its the worst bed Ive ever slept on. Its so old that the middle part of the bed is considerably lower than the sides of the bed and if 2 people sleep on it, theyd roll into the middle. Making customers sleep on that bed and calling themselves and upscale hotel is just absurd. We couldnt sleep on that bed at all, and were sleep deprived for 4 nights. Absolutely horrible experience. I never stayed in a cheap motel, but I wont be wrong if I say a bed in a $20 motel would be better than this.2 - Towels. Hotel towels are generally bad. But these are exceptionally bad. They are again, so old that when you wipe with them, they leave thread particles all over your body. Youll actually feel worse after taking a shower. This is not something thats experienced in an upscale hotel.3 - Thermostat. Lets establish that everything in the hotel is extremely old and unfunctional. The thermostat is very unresponsive and to change any setting, we have to press the buttons very hard to make it work. Not a deal breaker, but they call themselves an upscale hotel.4 - The fridge was non-functional. The freezer door broke and essentially the entire fridge was a freezer. We left some food in there and it got rock solid the next day.5 - There were ants all over the room. Ill just leave it there.Overall, it was the worst experience Ive ever had in a hotel and its undoubtedly the worst hotel ever. Hotel building can be old, but not the amenities, when the customers are charged 100s of $s a night. The fact that they call themselves an upscale hotel and charge a premium to stay with them is just unacceptable. I could have moved to a different room, but that might be more risky during COVID season, and Im sure Id have gotten a similar room, if not worse.I complained all these points while checking out, and the receptionist scribbed on a post-it. I expected a call from a manager for more feedback, but after 3 weeks, never got one. Ironically, the next Marriott hotel I stayed in had this quote from JW Marriott himself - Its the little things that make big things possible. Apparently those are just quotes on their walls, not something they practice.KEEP AWAY.
Very beautiful hotel with great views in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City
Last time we stayed here it was a great place, and service was awesome. This time there was only one person that seemed to care about customer service.
Very friendly staff! Highly recommended!
Positive: Everything was fine and the price was ok
Very nice good people but there was no coffee available during the day
Great location downtown. However the service is what made the stay even better. Our waiter at Breakfast both days was the best.
It was all clean, the staff very friendly/professional and the breakfast boxes were pretty good as well. Everything was as expected. Im taking out a star however, because during my 5-day stay the TV streaming service was horrible and didnt work, I was offered to move rooms but I had already settled and didnt want to pack and move again I wish they couldve just fixed it.
Decent downtown place to stay, unfortunately as is typical in these times certain things are limited or closed
Marriott Salt Lake City Center boasts elegant rooms that have been traditionally decorated; there’s a selection of different shapes and sizes on offer, many of which feature city views and marble bathrooms. The staff at this hotel are pleasant and helpful, and a daily buffet breakfast is served each morning. There’s an onsite Italian restaurant at this 4-star hotel, and guests can use the large gym and indoor pool.Location: Centrally located in Downtown Salt Lake City, the Vivint Smart Home Arena is a mile away from here, as is Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, among other sights.
Paper thin walls and unhelpful staff.
As a Platinum Elite for the past 4 years, I have had many interactions with hotel staff members over the years. Here at the Marriott SLC City Center I came across one of Marriotts finest! Ana, who was working the Le Bella restaurant Saturday morning delivered the best customer service I have ever come across. She was friendly, attentive, but most of all she was joyful. She brought a smile to all our faces, and it was clear she was passionate about providing a great experience not only for our group, but all those around us too. All the members in our group commented after the fact that she was the best hotel staff members that any of us have come across in our travels - All in the course of a breakfast that took less than an hour! As many travelers know, the hotel experience can be made or broken by the hotel staff and I am proud to say that I WILL return to stay at this hotel because of their wonderful people. Highlighted by Ana at Le Bella! A Job well done!
It’s an amazing experience
Beautiful hotel! Clean, excellent service. Great location.
This place has my favorite hit tub area. The rooms are always clean and the service is great. They have a wonderful dining room, food and again service. The location is perfect for being right down town. It is getting hard to enjoy the hot tub area with so many kids. People arent always considerate of others with their children. We may look for another place more for adult relaxation. Love kids, but when you want couple time it is just annoying.
Did a great job
The City Center Marriott must have just been renovated because our rooms were very fresh, modern, and clean. We loved the design and had a great view of the Gallivan Center with Holiday lights and ice skating. Room Service was terrific for breakfast and the entire staff provided outstanding service. The kids loved the pool and adults enjoyed the fitness center with great views out the huge windows. We will definitely stay there again!
The downtown City Center Marriott hotel is conveniently located and very easy to get to the Utah ski resorts. The bellmen were very polite and helpful with the car valet and the ski and boot storage. The concierge lounge was outstanding the staff there were happy and helpful. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The 2nd floor gym was outstanding.
Staff very courteous and knowledgeable of the area
We had a family Christmas party, they treated us like royalty. It was not easy for them to put this together with all the restrictions in place, but they pulled it off spectacularly.
Frequent traveler. Titanium status. Usually stay by airports but decided to stay downtown SLC for a quick overnight. Hotel is in a great location. Rooms are nice. My complaints are where they decided to put me. In my Marriott profile I have it listed to not put me by the elevators. Getting sleep is very important to me and I don’t want to deal with the noise. Also was not upgraded to a better room. Occupancy is super low these days so why aren’t upgrades happening? Also I had to leave the shower water running for awhile just to get hot water...maybe place people closer to the water heaters? At checkout I let the front desk lady know about my issue with the room location. She apologized and offered some points. It was a nice gesture. A few days go by and I check my account and see the stay was posted in the Marriott app...well no points..SMH. Not even the bonus points I would normally get just for checking in. So now I have to take time out of my day to call the titanium line so they can credit me my missed points. So after all this I will probably not be staying at this location again..
The hotel was beautiful and walking distance to City Creek shopping and Temple Square. The staff was professional and helpful. The room was re-designed and better than the photos online. Our room overlooked the skating rink and lighted square. It was a lovely stay. My only complaint is that the hot tub was barely warm and full of kids. But it was over a school holiday. I just like a hot spa. This is one of my favorite Marriott stays in history.
This hotel is just completing a major renovation which gives it a needed updating - polishing and shinning! I miss the carpet! The rooms are contemporary and follow what everyone else is doing - minimalist! The carpet was replaced with vinyl ( think?) The bathrooms are still big and lovely - same old bath tubs - but they are good. We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so.
This place is terrible myself and my 3yr old were stuck in the elevator for 45 min until the fire dept had to come pull us out to rescue us. Hotel staff apologized and left it at that..?We stayed here because we are finishing our bathroom remodel, the water pressure here is terrible so bad you can barley rinse the soap off yourself in the shower,. Needless to say we will not be coming back here👎👎👎👎
Would absolutely not recommend booking at this hotel. Made a reservation and later found out we had to cancel. Gave them a 4 month cancellation. I travel all the time for work and sometimes plans do change. I will have to call and either cancel or change my booking. Never have I had this issue before but they are refusing to refund my deposit for our stay again with a 4 month notice. Absolute horrible business practice and would recommend staying far far away. Lesson learned and will not be coming back. I will also be booking non Marriott hotels moving forward because of this policy. They had every opportunity to make it right and refused.
Such a nice hotel and great food for breakfast, love the roomy showers
The customer service beginning at check in was stellar! I do not have even a minor negative thing to say. We were attending an event right next to the hotel and were given a room with a view of the event and we didnt even have to ask.The room was perfect. The common areas were clean and inviting. Parking was a breeze.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in downtown Salt Lake City or attending an event at the Galivan Center.Well done, Marriott.
Good. In room service quick and food pretty good. TV had issues and was fixed while away. Liked the ability to sign into Netflix. Some noise above, sounded like people moving furniture.
Fast check in, friendly staff, ice rink behind the hotel, recycling bins in room, white robes in bathroom, beds are super clean and soft. Close to shopping and great downtown eats. I really enjoyed my stay. Will be back for sure!
We came here for our company holiday party. The environment was very nice and the venue was also decorated nicely. The conference halls seem very accommodating for larger crowds. The food and the table service was very exquisite. For an evening holiday party, I was very pleased! Weve attended parties here for multiple years, so it says a lot that we continue to host our company parties here year after year.
This was a very nice place to stay and attend a conference on site. The room was spacious clean and nicely decorated. All the staff were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. We had dinner in the restaurant and we wished that we would have gone out instead. That was the only area that did not provide us with a great experience. The service was poor and their was maybe 2 other people dinning besides our group of 4. It was just a dull experience. But other than that all was great. Location is blocks away from City Creek Center....a beautiful, peaceful shopping and dining experience.
Overall central location and offers nice views of the mountain.Rooms are nice and spacious. The cleanliness can be a hit or miss at times. Staff is good and responsive to any questions or concerns raised.
Great hotel nice and clean
We had a great time visiting our son in Las Vegas! We had a layover in Salt Lake City Utah and a thought to see the city of Utah and we booked a two-night stay at the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center The fancy hotel we stayed at in Las Vegas did not compare to the Salt Lake Marriott. The warmth, comfort, and attention the staff and hotel at the Marriott out rated the big fancy Hotel we stayed at on the strip. The complimentary HOT coffee/tea in the mornings and the all-day regular and lemon iced water was a plus! The old charm feels to the hotel and the always pleasant staff was comforting. Ryan, the gentleman who ran the Lounge and served in the restaurant was amazing! Oh, and this hotel is so close to Temple Square!
Great place to stay in downtown Salt Lake. Accomodations were pretty standard for Marriott properties. The bar and market options were fairly lackluster and made it feel pretty dated. The rec facility was nice is very useful after a day on the slopes. Overall, a solid place.
We Initially picked this Marriott because we wanted to ice skate at the gallivan center which is just next door. The service and hotel was warm and welcoming. The ice skating until midnight and then walking right up to our room was magical. Highly recommend

Front desk guy was super rude. How does he not know the name of the restaurant inside the hotel that he works at?
Excellent hotel. Has a resort feel to it. Love the decor of the entire hotel. Robes in your room! And I had no idea this hotel has a conceirge lounge! Bonus!! I will stay here again. No wonder this place is hard to get in to.
Excellent hotel in a fantastic location. I was able to walk to all restaurants and activities at the end of my workday. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and had a very warm and receiving atmosphere. It appeared that my room was recently updated and was very stylish. Overall the hotel was very quiet and provided for all of my needs. When in SLC I will definitely stay here again.
Friendly staff but the hotel needs renovations and breakfast is not great
Nice rooms, good service. Coffee in room needed more creamers, etc. Could easily hear my neighbors through the walls. Wasnt warned of 9am-7pm construction when I booked, only when I checked in.
This hotel is very nice and in a great location. Every employee we interacted with went above and beyond to help us. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms super nice. Thank you!
Clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent service!
Got the couples getaway package online and was not disappointed. The chocolate dipped strawberries were huge and delicious. They gave us a corner room with wonderful view of the city.
Best rooms Ive stayed in, VERY clean both in the rooms and in the general areas. Friendly staff. PERFECT location. Nice, clean, uncrowded pool and hot tub. Above standard gym. Parking is a bit complicated, which is the nature of SLC, but the staff and valet service is helpful with that. Cleaning staff were very friendly as well. The soaps were very nice (in room coffee was meh, but they had a good selection of sugars and creams). Also, amazing view!
