They let you cancel by making you come in and submit (due to frustrations of state limitations with COVID, back in November). It’s now August, I find out I’ve been charged every month since. Call in, Tana says: doesn’t matter, year long obligation. I get it, you need your money, but when documentation is submitted, and you have no record after personnel turnover, BS! Typical gym tactics. Don’t commit

The owners of Pure Fitness have done an incredible job creating this facility. My favorite thing about Pure Fitness in Salisbury is that it has a great layout that is very spread out allowing for plenty of room for your own personal space. The turf room is amazing and where I spend 50% of my time while there. Their staff is constantly cleaning and wiping down equipment and there is always a friendly staff member to great you with a hello and a have a good day. They also have a great set of certified and experienced personal trainers! They are constantly adding new equipment for members and they even have other perks such as racquetball, basketball, mixed martial arts arena, ping pong, child care, and air hockey!

I got a membership here about a month and a half ago. Ive really enjoyed it so far. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. The equipment is updated and works. There are a lot of options for classes and instructors. All in all, a great experience so far!

This is by FAR the best gym experience I have EVER had in my life! World gym, Gold’s gym, Planet Fitness WHO?????? Nah it’s PURE FITNESS!!!💯💯💯 Besides the colleges, this is the best facility on the eastern shore. Great staff, ownership is friendly, great options and amenities, equipment, classes THE WHOLE NINE! The wife and I joined here last year and then covid hit. We have not been in most of this year do to immune system issues but continued to pay our memberships after all we were under contract. When the contract period came to a close we went in and canceled our memberships. Our final payment was just this month and then a week later got hit with an annual membership fee. When I called to ask why I was being charged an annual fee for meberships that were canceled the answer I got was simply. BAD TIMING.no refund . Simply It was bad timing and nothing they can do. So Im now forced to pay an annual fee for a membership I dont have. We had plans to come back when it was safer for my wife. Not any more. Not a good way to conduct business.

Love the teachers. Think your daycare workers could use more help considering they keep writing up kids for “not listening” if this is how your guys are trying to keep kids out I can’t believe it imagine who else this is happening to. They are kids, sometimes they don’t listen . Get over it. One teacher let my daughter sit in a dirty diaper till I Was finished with my class. Maybe that deserves a write up too

Looks like a high quality gym. Unfortunately, anyone who even remotely takes Covid seriously should avoid this place at all costs. 90% of people dont even carry their mask with them once theyre past the front desk. Zero enforcement of public health guidelines. Working out in a mask is NOT hard and should be enforced.*2/11 Thank you for taking the time to respond to me, you should take that time to walk around the gym floor and see that 9 out of 10 people wernt even carrying a mask with them. You can say its a rule, but if no one is following it, you havent accomplished anything. The staff is responsible for enforcing the rules, not just placing a sign. Its clear this company does not take Covid seriously

My card was billed for someone elses account. Now they want me to prove my charges even though they see the charges to my card in their system. PURE Fitness is more is PURE scams! Ive been fraudulently charges over $180 for an account thats not even mine! Dont do business with these people

Im a new member at this gym, and so far Ive had a pretty good experience at both the Salisbury and Seaford locations. The negative reviews can be a bit discouraging however, I personally havent had anything negative to report and, its just hard to please everyone so you cant always go by the few negative reviews. I suggest give it a try. I personally dont like the 1 year contract, peoples lives change, their financial status change, their health changes, you could have an accident that cripples you for months and your still stuck in the agreement. Overall though, Im enjoying this gym and have no regrets signing up. Staff is friendly, and the members are friendly.

Great gym! Tremendous array of free weights and machines with plenty of variations of the machines. You never have to wait for equipment. It’s also maintained extremely well. Plenty of cardio equipment too. Best gym on the Eastern Shore bar none.

Up until I requested return of the money they charged me during the three months they were closed, this was a good and positive place, with friendly smiling people. Now not so much. Now they say they need my money so they can keep it. So much for quality and ethical business practices. Beware of doing business here.

Great gym, excellent variety of classes and trainers. The equipment is top notch in my opinion with just about every thing you could imagine. Staff is likewise professional and courteous. Having been a member of many “chain” gyms and lived in numerous states,Pure is an awesome gym and great value. Everyone is friendly. I love how the front desk people always greet me. Since I am a very senior (age) member, but I feel encouraged by all the younger members.I work with Branden Hudson as a personal trainer. He keeps me balanced, strong and moving.Love Pure Fit!!!

What an awesome fitness club. No detail was spared in this incredible, spacious and high-end facility. I havent had to wait for any equipment, even during the busiest of times. The group fitness classes are taught by wonderful and energetic instructors. My kids love the child care space and actually ask when can we go to the gym again? Would highly recommend!

My son had to pay two extra months of unused membership fees ($50) even after we froze our account in February due to Covid. I’m also a member at the Ymca, and was overcharged fees for three months of unused fees, which were returned to me after I disputed it. No such courtesy at Pure. Do not recommend.

Lots of room & equipment for any muscle or activity you want to engage. Membership fees are minimal & inline or below similar gyms. Relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff. Glad i made the switch.

Love this gym. I looked into others in the area to compare price vs services- YMCA, Olympia, Planet Fitness... Facility is clean and kept. They have such a variety of classes throughout the day during the week until 6:30pm and weekend classes; you literally have no excuses not to go! Julie is a fan favorite instructor!

I love this place! It motivates you to work out more in a way that is not judgmental. There is plenty of good equipment to choose from, everyone is very friendly and whether you aspire to become a professional bodybuilder or just would like to shed few pounds there is a place for you here. There is a vibe inhere that makes you come back for more.

Bad experience with any gym I’ve ever been too. The equipment is always dirty and damaged/broke and they over charge you on your monthly fees and doesn’t follow the contract agreement. They have a woman “trainer” there who is constantly so rude to people who just want to work out and thinks she runs the place. Absolutely not professional at all.

I bought a one yr contract for my daughter which EXPIRED 2/20. BUT they went into my account and charged me DOUBLE the original amount. AND they are still taking money from my account, they are CLOSED, dont take phone messages, and they are illegally withdrawing $40 a month from my account, when I am not even a member!

This gym has been closed since March 16, 2020 as a result of COVID-19. However, they have continued to charge my credit card for the monthly membership. When I called to ask why they were charging me when they are not even open, they said it is in their contract. When I asked for a copy of the contract, the representative was rude and refused to provide a copy to me. How can a business charge someone for services that they are not providing? Thats like a restaurant telling me that they are out of a certain item and still charging me for it. The honest thing to do would be to not charge members while they are closed. This is fraudulent and I am going to initiate a charge back with my credit card company. If you want to join a gym that does honest business, dont join this one.

Ive been a member at Powerhouse Salisbury/ Pure Fitness for over 16 years! Best gyms on the shore by far. Ive been to gyms all over the country while I travel and Pure Fitness is among the elite. Keep up the great work.

I think that this gym could be fairly good under a different owner and different management. They care more about how much money they can extract from a members wallet than the actual member. Better to go to a place where you are treated as a person and not a number

If you are looking for an all purpose fitness center Pure Fitness is your answer. Family oriented this club has everything that the total family can enjoy from fitness to basketball and racquetball how can you beat it. Great place to bring your kids while you work out. Hugh child care. If you are interested in the total package this is the real deal and the prices are great. You should come and take a tour and bring the family. The staff and very friendly and can guide you through a membership that fits your needs to stay healthy for 2019.

This gym, is moved from another place two years ago. When I joined the gym a few months before they relocated, they TOLD nothing about their relocation! When I found the new location is too far from my house, I was told I have to continue my contract for two years. So I paid 1.5. Years for not using their gym at all. Eventually my contract was over, and I called to double check they would not continue the contract. They said okey, and reminded me Kindly to come over to sign my signature. When I went there to sign, they smiled and told me their contract is “month by month”!Evidently this gym: (1) uses lies to take money from its customers (2) sets up traps with contract. That is my experience!

We have greatly enjoyed Senior Boot Camp and Spinning.. The staff and instructors couldn’t be nicer. The facility is very clean and the members are respectful and friendly. . Many members have been coming for years and transferred from Powerhouse after it became Pure Family Fitness. . We couldn’t be happier with the new facility and our experience belonging to Pure Family Fitness.

My gym! I love this place, great staff and every possible free weight, machines galore and lots of cardio equipment. Very clean facility and well maintained with great trainers and options for family too.

The gym itself is pretty awesome in terms of equipment. But, the real challenge lies in getting past the front desk or to be more precise getting past the folks manning the front desk if you happen to need a towel.Theyve started asking for your keys if you need a towel. Once you sign in by scanning your gym tag you have to ask someone at the front desk to hand you a towel & in return you hand over your keys & when you head out then this whole operation is reversed.Sounds simple enough, right? What could possibly go wrong? Well, invariably, on your way in, youll see at least 2/3/4 trainers who will all be intently peering into their mobile phones and/or chatting amongst themselves or staring into outer space, and theyll make it as difficult as possible for you to get their attention.Once you finally do get their attention then theyll ask you in the most condescending manner possible whether you need a big towel or a small towel. Once you state your preference theyll hand over your towel nonchalantly without so much as a nod of acknowledgement.This may sound like a minor inconvenience but after a long day at work when folks are coming to your facility the least you can do is be a bit polite & please stop peering into your mobile phones, youll have enough time to update your facebook/instagram/twitter account/whatever other social media platform you are on once you finish working.Like I said earlier, the facility itself is very well maintained so I think Ill just carry my towel with me in the future. Anything that will help minimize my interaction with the folks at the front desk will be a godsend.

Just joined this gym. It is HUGE. Almost any activity you can imagine happens there. Soon to be one or 2 pools and a racquetball court. Tons of fitness equipment of any assortment. The Hydra-massage chairs are AWESOME.

This is my favorite place!! They are very clean and take the covid-19 very seriously with sanitizing all equipment and providing customers with sanitation bottles and cloths to keep the equipment sanitary. Love the employees they are very friendly and so very helpful. My favorite class is zumba with Michelle I have been in her class for 6 years!! My new fave is the Ballet Barre Class. Love the atmosphere here as well!!

The yoga room is too small and the acoustics are horrendous. You can’t change the size but there must be a solution for the acoustics. It’s like an echo chamber. The yoga room and the cycling studio need clocks. That should be an easy fix.

Great fitness center. Plenty of space, welcoming & accommodative environment coupled with top notch equipment & all at a very affordable price. You cant beat the value. Its, by far, the best fitness center in lower shore Maryland.

Was setup on auto pay, the bank cancelled my card and sent a new one because of fraud. The gym charged me $25 per month extra once I finally got in there with my new card. Then I called trying to get everything figured out and they told me I was SOL and they had sent me to collections. Thieves run this place, save your money and go to another gym. Was a member for many years but I will not return. Roaches run wild!!

This gym is a quality gym. All the staff is friendly and willing to help you. It has most equipment you would need from multiple barbell racks for squatting and benching to machines for accessory work. The cables are usually broken and it is hard to find a working set.

Hands down best gym in town! No comparison! But dont just take my word come and see for yourself! With the 3 day free pass you can experience everything Pure fitness has to offer: Hydromassage chairs, sauna, more than 50 group exercise classes per month, huge turf room for athletic training and SWEAT classes, basketball, state of the art Cycling studio and much more! The kids club has a 25 foot tall fixed play area for ages 4 and up, and they offer many kids classes like Kids Zumba and Sweat! Guaranteed you will fall in love with this place after your trial!!

The new Pure Fitness in Salisbury is the best gym on the shore. The upgrades to seaford gym are great. Just wondering if the boxing room in seaford will be put back in place? There are alot of us who like the speed and heavy bag workouts. I am a member of both gyms.

I’ve held memberships at a few local gyms and Pure Fitness is by far my favorite. The staff are friendly and it has a great environment with a plethora of equipment and classes to choose from.

Went here after I grew tired of Planet Fitness and it was well worth the price. It gets busy and theres alot of fit people that really add to the motivational vibe the place already gives off

5 star rating to me would indicate perfect, not sure of that but there is no 4.95 star to click. I am working with Brandon utilizing the Pure Fitness one on one training. My size clearly does not show the fact that I have worked out, on and off, most of my life yet Brandon has shown me there may be light at the end of the tunnel. He has a very good knowledge of the complete training industry, be it exercises, form, equipment or simply pushing or pulling plates. This guy tells you how to, why you are, where to feel and what to expect in each exercise, on each machine and in any muscle chain working. He relates stories of his experience into workouts, helps when needed and has an ability to make me push past the point I would have stopped if I were working out alone. I see other trainers working and teaching clients throughout the facility and not knowing each, my assumption would be they are just as well schooled, however, if you happen to be seeking a trainer, there is no question in my mind, you should look into or meet Brandon. This guy is on top.

Horrible experience. We signed up knowing we were moving in a few months and we told them that. I was informed there was an $80 annual fee, but we wouldn’t have to pay that in August if we canceled 30 days before the Aug 22nd billing date. I canceled July 15th but was told I’m still being charged $80. The lady that called me back from the gym told me it didn’t matter what they told me when I signed up, and I am being charged regardless. She informed me it’s in the mice type contract. Downright slimey and deceptive. I will never do business with this gym again and I’m making sure all my friends go elsewhere as well. Steer clear of this shady establishment. I still have a copy of the text from the salesman when I signed up that says we would not have to pay the annual fee. I was reluctant to sign up originally because of this fee, but was assured we would not be charged. When a customer can prove what they were told by text and is upset with a business, an upstanding establishment would work with you and not just point to a contract and argue with you.
