Was a business account. So many problems with Century Link over the years. Phone went down recently and was told it would take 2 weeks to get a tech out. Were a retail business and cant be without service for 2 weeks. Cancelled our account and ported the number over to Comcast. Today, the tech is outside trying to fix a line that is no longer in service on an account thats been cancelled.
Horrible business support. We tried to put call forwarding on our office line in case we need to work remotely. Weve been a week without working phones now and entire system is messed up. 10 hours on the phone so far this week trying to get it sorted out.
Horrible service. Lines in area from 1960s and refuse to upgrade them out of greed. Who is still running off DSL in 2021? THEY ARE.
After 1.5 hours on the phone listening simple minded poorly trained people who disconnect you. I canceled this horrible, slow service that could not even admit that I had a problem until I called and disconnected service. Who ever manages tech and customer service should fired! I’d give it zero stars if possible.

I have a service ticket thats over a month old, I stayed home from work to wait for a technician to come out. He never came to the house all day. I am trying to call technical support to no avail. I called twice and a recording played a prerecorded message and then there is a message that says Ive errored and it then disconnects the phone call. Our internet service is our more than on. We live in town not even rural. Worst customer and service provider ever.
To open a service its quick and easy, but to get internet install it takes them days! Plus, they mail me wrong equipment. I was trying to reach their customer service for three days!!! Phone service is very slow and they not willing to help. So, I took this equipment myself and go straight to their store and gave it back. They said I had to pay for a whole month service! Can you believe it? Not using their service at all, spend your own time for hours, finding yourself a way out and have to pay! I closed their account right away and dont recommend their company to anyone!
I actually was trying to figure out how to do a zero star rating you cannot get this company to call back and or help you with anything I would never use this person for anything with century link do not use this person for any services
When we signed up our ring cycle sent calls to voicemail after 3 rings. That works great if you are sitting next to the phone. I had called a while ago to see about changing and the person told me that I could do it myself and check the voicemail guide on line. That didnt work. So I did on line chat to see if that would work. After being shifted to 3 different people I found out that I needed to call an 800 number. The first call resulted in 5 transfers to people that all wondered why I was transferred to them and 22 minutes later I was disconnected. I tried one more time and told the computer my issue was local phone and got to talk to Bryson, who set it up to get changed and improved my WIFI upload speed at no extra charge. Kudos to Bryson, but the rest of the system was stoooopid.
Internet down on Tuesday, next available appt. Tech never showed after text she was on her way. 45 min Later tech closed repair as completed. A no show, called support, overall no help. Next available time to come the following Thursday. Tech said they left modem and line was fixed. No modem left (we were home) security cards from cameras did not pick up anyone in driveway front or side of house (had to pull cards no internet to access). No one left anything on porch. Very frustrated with lack of urgency to a missed service. Customer support people did they job and are limited to what they can do. It’s the locals I’m more frustrated at.
Tech never showed up and Closed the repair ticket.Filing a formal complaint with Public Utilities Commision on Monday
They made an appointment came out 2 days early without calling made a repair that was not acceptable. Never got a bill and now i have a collection agency calling. Have spent about 6 hours on the phone waiting and talking with people that cant help and transfer me to another number with automated system. Have talked with over 10 people and still not resolved.
My internet is slow, slower then usual today
They really need to get their act together the customers time is just as valuable as their time
This is the WORST company ever. I have not been able to get into their website for YEARS due some strange CENTURYLINK issue where they cannot connect to my Email. HOWEVER I dont have any issues with my email with any other company or individuals. CENTURYLINK has been unable or unwilling to fix this issue. Thus when I lost my bankcard and tried to change my auto-pay. I was on hold for hours. Despite that I still way unable to rectify the problem staying over and over I had to got to the WEBSITE to fix it!. CENTURYLINK is an AWFUL DISORGANIZED MESS OF A COMPANY
Contacted them when internet went down. Set appt for repair. They never showed up. Called again- said they would expedite. Never heard back. Canceling service and switching to Comcast.
If you are working on anger management stay away from centurylink. 10 days to have a tech come out?? Their customer service is abysmal, hit and miss on internet speed, if it even works. I can assure you the bill comes every month and on time too. Switching to comcast, nice techs, LOTS more speed at a lot lower price.
Recording not helpful. Called Salem after 9am COULDNT LEAVE A Reg message. Tried to go online. Wanted to leave ADS. By the the way WE Dont Want Long Distance Chargers, (REMOVE)which is why I tried to call.
I wish I could give 0 stars. We are having problems with a modem. They promised an upgraded modem but keep sending the same model over and over again. Complete incompetence.
My wife waited and waited for them to show up for an appt. They never knocked to let us know they were there. I called to find out why no one showed up at my house at the scheduled timeframe. I talked to way too many people before finding out that they actually came to the area and determined that my house could not get fiber.If someone is told to be waiting at the house, you need to let them know you have arrived at the site and will start working on it. I have worked with Comcast Business and they are excellent always letting you know they are there. Centurylink is incompetant and unprofessional at running a business. So unfortunate Salem doesnt encourage competition. It is shameful that other countries have better internet than the US where it was invented.
The service is not what was advertised, Im billed more monthly than was agreed upon. And they keep trying to sneak servicing fees at this point Im convinced half the businesses practices arent even legal.

First thing they asked me for was email and social security number from a person who when I could understand them was very rude. Seriously? My social security number?

CenturyLink has shown their true colors.I have been trying to do my own divorce and had to move never using the service. I told CenturyLink, I was told to send the equipment back and they would help with my bill. Sure now my bill is over $200 for not using their service!Way to go CenturyLink take advantage of an elderly disabled woman!Greedy Much!!!
Dont ever use century link. Terrible company. They force you to pay for services you do not want. The customer service people are terribly rude and unpleasant. They dont even pretend to sound happy. And are unwilling to actually provide any customer service at all.
I was told the first date for a repair would be mid December. It is now Sept 26!
I have never had a problem with centrylink. Always kind and helpful.
Beyond frustrating, incompetent zero star service.Terrible repair/customer service, a great way to use up hours of your life and get nothing. Slower internet than third world countries, sadly I dont have any other internet option.
Good luck if you have service from centurylink. I have not found a single person that is competent at this company. We have had constant service provider problems for close to a year. I have upgraded and then downgraded and the same results happen within a few days. It works for a few days then does not work for a few days over and over and over. Calling repair is a joke. You get someone in another country that cannot help. They blame the wiring inside the home. I am so fed up with this company but we dont have another provider available in our development. Avoid them if you can. I would give them zero stars if I could. Total GARBAGE!!!!
This is the worst internet service out there. They’re customer care is horrible their internet is Sub par and they charge threw the rough. All my grandparents use them and I’m slowly getting them changed to spectrum. Don’t waste your time for goodness sake.
Technician showed up way before the scheduled time and they had me schedule an apt TWO weeks later after I had made plans to cancel my other WiFi service that day. TERRIBLE customer service.
The service is terrible. The internet is always going out and is slow. On my modem the internet light flutters constantly if its not red. I do not recommend this internet provider to anyone. The only reason I keep it is because its the least expensive.

Century link services are by far the worst service Ive ever experienced. Especially when there is an issue and you have too speak with customer service. Ive been fighting with customer service for 3 days just trying to get my service transferred from my old home too my new home. Most customer service agents dont speak English without a very heavy accent that you cant understand and when they dont know what too do which is constantly then they transfer you too a different department and its usually the wrong department.
Century link is terrible I wouldnt recommend it.... They will keep raising their price higher and higher without warning ... I called them and they signed me up to a 50 dollar plan 2 months later they started charging me 91.99 and thats just simple internet. Not worth the headache
I called to get some internet in our new place and talked to David and he was very helpful and helped my husband i get the best bang for our buck. I would recommend century link to anybody that needs internet. Thank you David excellent service

They keep hanging up on me called last week had a ticket # and they said today that the ticket number was not a number for service now they’re giving me the runaround I’ve been on the phone for over two hours so over this company they need to get their act together I run a business and that’s not how you run a business
If there were a zero star option available it would be checked. Absolute nightmare trying to get business service installed. Poor communication missed appointments, failed install attempts, and received bills for months that I never had service. Took me 3 separate attempts to convince these folks that I have never had service installed and continued to send me overdue bills. I had to give the billing department the emails and phone numbers of their own employees to ask them if I ever had service. The left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing.
Customer service is awful. They are rude and seem to not care.

Can it get any slower for 45 bucks a month? Download of 6.17, upload of 0.88. I cant work from home and upload any substantial material. This is just a ripoff. I know DSL is slow, we used to have fiber, but in South Salem, we are throttled with DSL.
Get your internet service anywhere but from these guys. I takes DAYS to get someone to come out to check their end of the service, their service lines are outsourced to somewhere that speaks marginal English. Although polite service desk people, not in control of anything......The service when it is working is SLOW and I usually have outages that last from a few hours to overnight multiple times a year. I have had this service for 15 years and am going to dump them as soon as I can find another ISP. I finally dumped them in Feb/20

Their internet service sucks. We keep upgrading our service but there’s still no difference. It’s still slow and sometimes it just stops working. Their customer service also sucks. We still haven’t been able to cancel our service. The first time, I tried to cancel the person that helped me told me I needed a code and that she was going to send it to me in 10min and that I had to call back. Well she never sent the code. The second time, the person I was talking to just hang up on me right after I gave him my account number(after waiting for like 30min to talk to someone). And finally, I’ve been calling but they haven’t answered. I’m so mad that it’s so hard to cancel a service. So don’t get centurylink, save yourself a headache. I got Xfinity and it’s definitely way better.
Over a span of three weeks we tried to get hook up, 5 times of waiting from 8am -5pm no one showed up. With our dumb luck its the only internet provider in our town, maybe before the new year they will make it out to my house if they can figure out how to run their company .
They charge you for things they say they wont, dont tell you when your bill is late due to their error, wont turn your services back on after you pay your bill, and if you want to disconnect service you better hope to hell you dont work normal Monday through Friday business hours because thats your only chance to cancel. You can never speak with a real human. The chat people are uncaring and unhelpful. This company is absolute trash.
They got me to switch from Comcast with the promise of free install, 80mbps, and no B.S. billing. I get 30mbps at best, and of course after i signed up for auto bill pay on the second month CenturyLink snuck in $60 for the installation. Customer service basically gave me the middle finger.
CenturyLink is beyond terrible. Switched from Comcast to CenturyLink only to go back to Comcast (terrible customer service too but at least they are reliable). So at first they charge us 2 months for the first bill...ok kinda dirty pool but whatever. Then the service consistently went down and never received speeds we were paying for. So after a few months of this nonsense we go back to Comcast. It took them 4 months to acknowledge we cancelled for poor service. THEN it took forever to get the bill fixed since we had to keep explaining we did not owe anything since they billed us in advance and we did not go into the new billing period. THEN out of the clear blue sky we get a collections letter stating we owe them over $500 for equipment and unpaid services. Fight that and win only to have another collection show up a year later for $300. Fight that one and win and now having to deal with this again but this time I found out through CreditKarma. Now dealing with a 3rd collection agency all for a bill we DO NOT OWE for crappy service (Seriously they make Comcast look awesome!!).
DO NOT !!!!! Sign up with them. They are a HUGE scam. They signed me up for internet basics then charged me $100 a month. They are horrible and the customer service dept will not help you. They were sappose to charge me $19.99 a month and are charging me $100 a month Im a senior on disability with very low income and they completely are screwing me. Im NOT paying it and now it will go on my credit. Do NOT not not not sign up with them please!!!!!!
I called Centurylink today to resolve an issue and was transferred to three different people. The last person said she would get me a fax number and a higher manager to fax proof my wife passed away 14 months ago and somehow are still withdrawing money from my bank on her name. After waiting about 5 minutes someone on their end just hung up or disconnected me by accident. I think I need to speak with Jeff Storey the CEO.
CenturyLinkWe are long term customers, with the same phone numbers and same location for nearly 30 years. We pay for 1 home line, 1 auxiliary line, and 1 business line.We have had ongoing issues with CenturyLink since June 18th, with no phone service for weeks at a time. They’ve ran temporary lines above ground that lasted less then 1 week. After 3 months they ran overhead lines, but never hooked it to our house. So once again no phone.I have been told repeatedly by CenturyLink that this matter is in “Escalation.” But they are unable to tell me when or if that actually means it will be resolved.I have sent 2 emails to Jeff Storey CEO of CenturyLink only after exhausting all other avenues including reams of messages and online chat transcripts with CenturyLink.I have also filed a complaint with Oregon’s Public Utility Commission. I really would just like to have a working phone.

Every one of them exhibited the same trait, which was horrible customer service and lack of knowledge.Absolutely not acceptable Internet speeds 9MB isn’t gonna cut it. Especially when your competitor Comcast offers 150MB at my residence.Also customer service is lacking, big time.It’s pick your poison, Comcast or Century link, and they both suck but at least with Comcast you can actually use your internet.I wouldn’t recommend

After many years as a CenturyLink customer, I can say without hesitation or regret that CenturyLink is the worst telephone and internet service that I have encountered! Every time that our telephone and internet service goes out or malfunctions, it takes days for someone to show up for repairs. When a technician finally makes it around to making repairs, there is static on the line and the webpages fail to load. Although, there is always a little sticky note on the door saying that everything is working fine. What a joke!Our telephone service has been out for a week this time. Both my wife and I have called, and we have sent requests through their webpage. We have not had any success with getting our service back. We dont have cellular service where we live, so if there is an emergency, we are truly on our own.If you have a choice, DONT CHOOSE CenturyLink!!!! You will be very disappointed.
