Place is a scam. They robbed my grandma out of a $500 dollar repair to fix her computer that really only needed an update.Do not give them your business, rude employees, place smells like BO (like they never shower), and they rip off old people or people who aren’t tech savvy.I’d give them negative stars if I could.

I gave this review based on my over-the-phone conversations. Ive called them twice. Once to see if they had a display port cable and another time to see if they had a webcam. They had the cable in stock and at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, they didnt have a webcam with the specs I wanted due to timing. It was right before all the students returned to school via virtual learning and several stores were all sold out. Definitely not the retailers fault. They were friendly and helpful both times I contacted them.

Salem Geeks offers an extremely high level of expertise at a very low price.First, why take my opinion? I have a BS in computer science, worked in IT for years and have been building my own computers for 30 years. At work, we used Salem Geeks for overflow work. Besides being cheaper than other shops, in one case he found proprietary laptop parts other shops, and my coworkers, could not.In my latest build I didnt know about a new setup and got very frustrated when it didnt work. My wife offered to let me take it to Salem Geeks out of her own spending money, not mine, so I took it. He diagnosed the problem in 5 seconds and told me how to fix it. I had a bad feeling about the power supply and decided to have him fix it. Long story short is for a small price he saved me many hours of frustration. Trivial, but he is also the best at cable management and the computer insides look far better than what I would have done.My conclusion is that Salem Geeks is continuing their tradition of great service at a low price.

Loved these guys! I came in to their store to see if they had a few things, because i was planing on building my own computer. They actually helped me pick my parts and gave me advice for free.Once I ordered my parts, I asked how much it would be for them to put it together, because I didnt want to mess it up. They said only $60, which was a great deal. They put it together for me the next day. Once I picked it up I got home and looked at the cable management within the case. To say the least, it was astounding. They truly knew what they were doing. It came out great, and I love it! They earn a 5 star from me. Great customer support.

Eric was very efficient with his repairs on my laptop and actively communicated with me about the problems it had and how he was fixing them, as well as how to prevent them in the future. He takes a lot of pride in his work, and it shows!

Love these guys! I tried for 4 hours to move my data over to another PC before I finally gave up. Gave them a call, they responded politely and super quick. They had my data onto the new system in under 2 hours! The place gave great customer service, smart workers. Unfortunately my computer was toast. But they only charged me the base fee. Even though they tried a couple ways to fix it.Will be taking any future computer issues to them.

I just got off the phone with them- super helpful and knowledgeable, no scams or gimmicky weirdness (referencing the other questionable reviews on here). WORST BUSINESS in Salem. These idiots lost my hard drive that had the only pictures and videos remaining of my mother who died from cancer. They still have NOT found it. At first they returned my back up drive with information including social security numbers and tax returns, as well as a random familys pictures of a cruise, glacier trip and tropical vacation. I couldve easily stole their identity if I was a criminal. I returned that info and let them know what happened. I asked for a refund and they denied. Kept searching for my information for 35 DAYS I called and they had forgotten about my circumstance. Then within a week I was offered a refund from a guy that was trying to be empathetic but was easily so fake and easy to see and feel that he actually didnt care at all and was putting up a cover. They ended calling me in with the good news that they had found my hard drive and were ready to issue the refund. I showed up and got the refund and was given a hard drive that was supposed to be mine; but it wasnt. It was AGAIN someone elses hard drive with secure information. What they DO NOT KNOW IS THAT I WILL FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL and will be hiring a attorney to file a claim against them.

Absolutely worst business I have ever unfortunately paid my money to. They took in my computer, lost it. Didnt even offer a refund or anything, all they said is sorry we will look for it. Its been over 2 months now and no word from them. I called and they still do not have it. Idiots arent even decent enough to offer a refund. BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY. They will steal your money with their (barely) mediocre service.

Despite being fairly computer savvy I had an issue with my laptops hard drive I couldnt seem to fix or diagnose. I took it to Salem Geeks and explained everything I had tried to do to them, they said theyd do a diagnosis and have something for me by the end of the day.3 Days later I finally got a call back. They did not know what the problem was but still charged me for the diagnosis and insisted on an OS reinstall that would have cost me alot more.I ended up buying a new laptop and was much happier. I would not use Salem Geeks again as there are other companies out there that will not charge someone for an unsuccessful diagnosis.

Two, 5 star***** reviews: 1st review - 5 five years ago my pc and the backup hard drive crashed. the info on the pc was lost. Eric/Erik and staff were able to recover info from the backup and transfer it to a newer pc= a win-win! ---> 2nd review- fast forward to right before the 2018 Easter weekend... my PC crashed and luckily the backup did not. We went to Salem Geeks again. Eric and Staff found that the motherboard was toast. As we were going to replace the PC, they also recommended a place, where they had just heard, had a good sale going on, and we purchased a new PC. Salem Geeks transferred all our info from the backup, set us up with windows 10, and MS Office, were able to keep my contact info and older MS Office format, a newer better anti-virus software, lots of good advice, info / instructions, and answered all our questions. they had it about 4 days including Easter weekend, and when we went to pick it up, they hooked up the new PC to review the new set up, formats etc.. The price, for all their hard work, was very fair. Their aim was to make the customers very happy, and they did :)
